I stood in front of about five seamstresses getting my dress fitted. Max was guarding the door, since apparently Caleb had tried to come in at least three times.

"Ow!" I yelled. One of the seamstresses had poked me in the thigh. she quickly apologized, and I sighed. "How much longer? Don't I have to be out there soon?"

Max shook her head. "You have about an hour and a half. Stop whining," she chided, braiding her hair with blue ribbons that matched the bridesmaid dress she was wearing. "Now, do you have some old, new, borrowed, and blue?"

I looked down. My necklace was the same that I wore at the coronation, and I'm pretty sure that counts as blue. Max lent me a bracelet her mother had carved from Airavata tusks, which are native to India, Bangladesh, and Pakistan along with some other places. they were rare, and the fact that Max lent me her bracelet means more than anything. my wedding dress is new, so I hope that counts, and my hair clip was supposedly my mother's. my father gave it to me when I was little, and told me it was one of the few things he could grab when he ran from the Blackburns all those years ago. not that it saved him, but at least I have something from my mom. I was wearing the crown from my coronation, even though I hated it. The thing seemed to emanate cold like a bonfire emanated heat.

"yeah, I think I have everything," I told her. "Am I supposed to be scared?"

She nodded. "It's your wedding, Kiora! Even if your past wasn't an issue, you would still have the right to be afraid."

I nodded, and flinched again when I got poked by another needle.

"Done," the seamstress muttered, and scurried out of the room. My hands were shaking, and I'm sure I was two shades paler than normal, but Max said nothing.

There was a knock on the door, and Max grumbled under her breath. She opened the door and quickly blocked the opening. She exchanged words with the person, and stood aside. Kate walked in wearing her bridesmaid dress. She saw me and her eyes lit up.

"Kiora! You look stunning!" She exclaimed. She then walked around me, muttering to herself.

Someone ducked their head into the room. "It's time, my lady."

"Remember, it's not a Unabled wedding. It has different traditions," Max warned. I sent a look her way, hopefully conveying I know that. She smirked.

I took a deep breath. Everything will be fine. I'm just a nineteen year old who can shape water getting married to the prince of the magic underground. I sighed, and left the room.

I stopped right before the beginning of the aisle. It was the same room as the coronation, although now it was decorated in blue and black. The only bright thing in the room was my dress. Suddenly, everyone turned to me.

I took a step towards the altar. Caleb's eyes looked like they were about to pop out of his head. I attempted a good natured smile, but I don't know how well it turned out. I made my way down the aisle. I had no one by my side, seeing as my father was dead and I was giving myself away, not my father.

Every other woman believes their parents are proud of them when they get married. I know that if my father knew he would hit me upside the head, and tell me to run as far as I could. It was disheartening.

I finally reached the altar after what felt like years. Max and Kate had snuck into place. Max gave me a thumbs up.

I stood beside Caleb. He was still looking at me like he had never seen me before. The priest began to speak. I could barely here the words through my thoughts.

I snapped to attention when Caleb said his vows.

"I promise to always stand by you, in health and in illness, in happiness and in strife, and to love you always," Caleb vowed, slipping a ring on my finger. It had blue inlay on a silver ring.

I repeated the vows, and put Caleb's ring on his finger. His was similar, but had black inlay instead of blue. He smiled at me with a small blush.

The priest handed Caleb a goblet.

"The mixing of the blood will proceed to finish the ceremony," The priest announced. I had forgotten about this part. Caleb rolled up his left sleeve, while I rolled up my right. We were supposed to use our left, but I wanted my sword arm to be fully mobile.

The priest brought out the ritualistic blade for this exact purpose. The gold patterns glimmered in the light. He first made an incision on Caleb's arm, dripping six drops into the goblet. He then turned to me, and repeated the process with me. I flinched when the blade touched my skin, and Caleb gave me a sympathetic look. The priest took the goblet and mixed the blood together and sprinkled rose oil into the goblet.

He raised the goblet above his head, and the guests cheered. A nurse came in to bandage our arms. Max squealed somewhere to the right of me, and I heard Kate shushing her quietly. I laughed under my breath.

Caleb took my hand and dragged me to the throne room, which apparently was also the ballroom. When everyone saw us, they began clapping again. We ended up in the middle of the room.

"I assume you know how to dance?" Caleb whispered.

"No, I don't. I was a little busy growing up, and didn't think I would become a queen ever!" I whispered back. He rolled his eyes.

"Just follow me," Caleb grabbed my hand with one hand and my waist with the other. Music started playing, but I couldn't see where it came from. I did not find time to look, since I was preoccupied with trying not to trip while Caleb was spinning me around.

I managed to step on his feet only twice, and I didn't fall on my face at all. I considered that a win.

I was planning on not dancing the rest of the night, but Max wasn't having it. She pulled me back onto the dance floor, despite the glares she got from the castle staff. We danced for the rest of the night, and for once I let my worries and stress float away.
