Three years ago

Trinitys POV

"Benny come here and look at this" I said

This was the day I stopped drawing and painting. I did it with Benny, he taught me how to do it all. I was fifteen years old when all this happened. Benny was seventeen and my only mundane friend. He didn't know about the shadow world I made sure of it. I made sure to keep him out of it so he didn't get hurt.

"Wow that's amazing see I told you that your a natural" he said looking at my painting of the city

"I had a really good teacher over the past three years" I smiled

"I have to meet this teacher some time" he smiled

"He's the best you should" I smiled as I played along

That day it was a week before my sixteenth birthday. We spent the day together because over the week I had to go to Idris. Of course he didn't know where I was really going. Everything that day was going perfectly fine. It wasn't until a demon tried to attack us that I had to defend us. That day he watched me stab someone and they disappeared.

He was shocked, hurt and above all angry with me. He did the worst thing possible, the worst thing he could have ever done.

"You killed somebody" he said

"Benny I'm sorry I didn't want you to get involved in this world" I said

"What are you talking about?" He said backing up

"That was a demon not a person" I said

"Your crazy, your a lying, manipulative bitch" he yelled

It hurt and then he grabbed my blade and stabbed me. I couldn't harm him, it was part of the shadow law. We were meant to protect mundanes not harm them. It hurt so bad being stabbed like that. I didn't want to heal myself, heck I hadn't drawn that rune just yet. So I stumbled back to the institute. My hand on my stomach trying to stay awake.

When I got inside Izzy, jace and Alec rushed over to me. Panicked expressions on their faces. That day I swore I'd never draw, paint or associate with mundanes.

"Oh my gosh what happened?" Izzy asked

"He, he stabbed me" i said and realization hit me

I didn't cry I don't cry in front of people often. If you saw me cry you were very important and trusted by me.

Present time

Trinity's POV

I ran to the spot I normally went when I needed to clear my head. On the way there I activated my tracking rune. This way no one could track me if they tired.

"Trinity?" Magnus said opening the door

"Mags it hurts" I said with tears in my eyes

He quickly pulled me into his place and then into his arms. I cried and he lead me over to his couch. He held me and whispered sweet nothings into my ear. After a little while I stopped crying and calmed down. I felt a tug at my heart from being away from Alec.

"What happened?" He asked

"Clary Fairchild brought a mundane into the institute" i said

Magnus knew what happened three years ago. I often told Magnus everything.

"But that's not all that happened" he said

"I got upset and the mundane asked if he did anything wrong, I told him yes his species did, jace pulled me aside and basically told me to get over what happened three years ago" I said

"How dare he" Magnus said shocked and angry

"I ran here after I yelled at him" I said

"I see you and Alec have bonded" Magnus said pointing to my mark

I knew what Magnus was doing and I really appreciated him for it. He was trying to get my mind off the subject.

"Yes after we had an argument I told him how I felt and earlier today he marked me and I did him" I said with a proud smile

"He better not hurt your feelings" Magnus said

"He wouldn't or I'd hurt him myself" I smiled

"I'm glad your finally happy with him" he said

"Mags I think he's trying to locate me, I feel this tug at my heart and he's trying to mind link me" i said

"Your speaking through your minds" he said shocked

"Yeah it's a plus side of the marking" I said

"Why don't you tell him where you are?" He asked

"I don't want anyone following" I said

"You mean jace following" he said

"Exactly" I said

"Just tell him to bring Izzy and to activate their tracking runes and come here" he said

So I closed my eyes and let Alec into my mind.

"Trinity where are you?, are you okay" he asked

"You and Izzy activate your tracking rune and come to Magnus place" I said

"Okay we're in our way" he said

"Their coming" I said

"Good thing the institute isn't too far" Magnus says

"Plus side of you being my get away" I smiled

We talked for a short time as we waited for the two to get here. Around five or ten minutes there was a knock in the door. Magnus got up and let the two inside. Both rushed over to me and pulled me into a group hug.

"Don't run off like that we were worried" Izzy says

"Did you hear what he said to me?" I asked looking between the two

"Yes and both of us went off on him" Alec said

"He feels terrible" Izzy said

"So what he had no right to say that" i hissed

"We never said he did" Izzy said

"He has to apologize and mean it 100%" Alec said

"Congratulations" Magnus said hinting at our mate bond being complete

"You told him?" Alec asked

"No he saw the mark" I smiled

"Oh okay and thanks Magnus" Alec said

"We need to head back before those three cause trouble" Izzy says

"I'm here if you need me okay" Magnus said hugging me goodbye

"Goodbye mags" I say

"Goodbye, and Alec" Magnus said

"Yeah?" Alec said

"Hurt her and your dead" Magnus said with a serious face

"I'd let you if I ever hurt her" Alec said then we left
