Author's note

Hey! I hope you love this update! I'll be updating more often when I don't have work to do so please be patient when I don't update. I would only take forever for a very good reason.

Disclaimer: I don't own anybody, sadly.

Warning: Torture and insane-ness

Hope you love it! If you don't, tell me nicely.

Dick's POV

I woke up with a start. I stared around my surrounding with confusion and weary. Then what had happened the night before smacked be straight across my face, literally.

"How dare you act so foolish you worthless piece of garbage!!!" My uncle's face was red with anger as he yelled.

"You will be a Talon and you will follow orders or you will be killed! Do you understand !?"

I sat where I had landed on the ground with a look of pure terror on my face, but my eyes must have showed a small bit of determination to rebel, for my face was stinging once again.

"Listen, you useless pawn! NO one loves you! No one is coming to save you! You are unwanted! Becoming a Talon is your only chance of being useful to the world!" His words were meant to sound true, but in my heart, I knew they were lies.

I had a burst of courage and stood up. "No! Being a murderer is not useful to the world! It only causes more problems! Someone will always stand against those who do wrong, even if it is only one! Evil will never win, and that is worth fighting for! I won't turn into your kind even if faced with death! You can threaten me as much as you want, but you said it yourself. I'm nothing to everybody, so if you were to kill me, you would gain nothing!"

His seemed to be contemplating what I had just thrown on the table, but the look disappeared behind a sinister grin.

"You are right, but you are still of use to The Court. We will not kill a pawn unless absolutely necessary, but you will be served with the discipline needed to make sure this kind of rebellion does not happen again."

The grin made sense now.

The rest of my day was filled with screams and blood. One of the worst punishments I had ever gotten was when I was just starting out, I had been beaten for three hours, my arms tied to the ceiling. Followed by mental tortures and ruthless training. Today's was much worst.

I sat in a chair, restrained to an unbearable point. I could feel the blood dripping down my hands and shin. My holder, my soulless uncle, took out a crowbar. Every time I saw this, I'd have an image of a younger boy, a street kid, you could just tell, with black hair and green eyes flash in my mind, but I never understood why.

The crowbar dug into my left shoulder, but only a grunt left my mouth. I wouldn't give him the satisfaction of hearing me at my weakest. Blood oozed from the wound down my black t-shirt, staining it a dirty brown.

Another swift move and two of my ribs were broken, leaving me in a breathless state, not expecting the next blow to my knee.

A crack broke the silence. A pause. A squeak left my lips. A stupid mistake.

My uncle's old, worn face spread into a insane look that could only be describe as Joker infested. My mind blanked and all I could see was my broken body and what it would soon be.

Hit after hit was delivered. I forgot when I started to scream. All I knew was that I needed to stop, but I couldn't. Not until my uncle stopped. That would not happen until I blacked out, which happened after a number of hits that will go unnumbered for the rest of my life in my mind.

When I awoke, he stood over me, two others on either side of me. A water tub sat about five feet in front us, but it could have been miles away with my blurry visions.

The next thing I knew, my head was plunged in a cold, nasty water that filled my lungs immediately. I struggled sluggishly with pain coursing through my body with each movement. This went on for so long that I truly was being to think that I would die today.

I awoke once again to a man in a lab coat and glasses. His greying hair added to his "middle age charm" and his almost flawless skin made you think he was one of the handsomest, nicest people you would ever meet his age.

But through all my years of being a Talon, I learned that you should NEVER judge someone by their looks. If you do, just hope you'll make it out of the situation you got yourself into with your life and be thankful for that.

The man was a great scientist, but after years of being rejected to use human test subjects, he took matters into his own hands. The people who were kidnapped by this insane experimenter had no idea what hit them and whatever was done with them were purely mad and terrifying.

The Court notice his "genius" and broke him out of prison as well as faking his death so the police were off his trail.

He was the same scientist that made the serum that kept him from controlling himself. This man took his life from him, not directly, but he helped.

He also likes to use little old me as his like science monkey. When I need to be taught a good lesson, I get sent down to Dr. Montosh's lab

Dr. Montosh never was gentle, or considerate of the others feeling, or pain tolerance, and I don't expect him to be today either.

He usually starts with serum tests which take about an hour or so. Then he gets into his new projects.

He works with Scarecrow and Joker, some of the baddies in Gotham, with their toxins. Those are not very funny to have tested on you, trust me. This also helps him with new ideas and equipment supply. Making my day a lot less fun.

This trip is about a weekly to a biweekly experience for me. I don't like working as an assassin. Sue me.

Dr. Montosh is completely insane in my opinion and belongs is Ohkham, or is it Arkham. I don't get around much either.

Back to the terrible events at hand, The doctor seemed to be an incredible grouchy mood this day, and I was not looking forward to what he had planned.

The serum tests were extremely painful, the toxin felt like acid in my veins. My eyes burned. My head felt it would explode on the spot.

The villains' positions were next. I laughed until my voice gave out, same with screaming as I witnessed what I had gone through since my parents were killed. Scarecrow was my least favorite villain. Though I had never met in person, I suspected he was no better than the visions that passed through my mind because of his science.

Once that was over, the terrible memories still lingering in my thought, Dr. Montosh started on his experiments.

I properly didn't mention earlier that he is insane. And that he likes to test how long some can last under the worst of conditions.

Since I'm a Talon. I'm suspected to have gone through some pretty harsh ones, which I have I cant deny, his experiments are upped a level.

My eyes flinched shut as the electrify corded through my body, and the recording began.
