Hey all, welcome!

This is my first time submitting to the Open Novella Contest, and I'm excited to give it a shot this year. The prompt I'm using may be found below: 

Prompt 88. Your father is forcing you to marry someone you have never met. The night before your wedding you tie your sheets together and make your escape through the window. Half way down you make eye contact with someone doing the exact same thing a few windows over.

My goal for this contest is to try branching out a bit since I've only ever written sci-fi on Wattpad. I also reeeeally really want to practice writing more quickly (since I usually write at a snail's pace). 

Originally, I'd aimed to throw together a cutesy little steampunk-romance...and then I finally sat down and finished my outline. This puppy's gonna be dark fantasy.
