Beomgyu couldn't waste anytime. He made his way to penitentiary. He met with his mother. "I won't bore you with the details, Mom. Is there family I can stay with ?" Sun-Hi could tell her son was in a rush. There was no use in lying to him. Beomgyu wasn't a child anymore & she couldn't really take care of him given where she was now. 

"범규아, 당신이 함께 지낼 수 있는 사람이 있어요. 하지만 그들은 도시 외곽에 삽니다." (There is someone you can stay with, Beomgyu ah. However they live in the outskirts of of town.) Beomgyu sighed in relief. He'd have a place to stay and collect his thoughts. "How can I let them know I am coming ?" His mother didn't push him for answers, but she knew something was off. 

"You don't need to notify them of your arrival. They'll know who you are as soon as you arrive." Beomgyu still had no idea of who this person was, but it was clear his mother trusted they'd take care of  him. "이만 가보겠습니다. 고마워요, 엄마." (I shall be on my way now. Thank you, Mom.) 

His mother only smiled in return, but there was an uneasiness in her eyes. Sending Beomgyu to the last place she'd ever send him was hard to process. Especially since there was so much he didn't know about who he'd be meeting. Beomgyu went on his way.

It was a long trek & he repeatedly thought back to the institute. Had he been too obsessed ? Would he ever be able to do magic again ? His was wand broken now...

Soon enough he came up on a house in the outskirts of Monzara. He knocked frantically for a minute as he waited. The house was pretty big, & it probably took some time to answer the door. Beomgyu was shocked  when the door opened. A woman greeted him with a smile. Her eyes a bright unnatural green...

That wasn't what was shocking. The woman was an exact identical version of his mother. "Um..." The woman knew Beomgyu was having a hard time understanding. "반가워요, 범규아. 권수연입니다. (Nice to meet you, Beomgyu ah. I am Kwon Sooyeon.) Your aunt." Aunt ? He had an aunt ? "Then why do you look exactly like my mother ? How come I have never met you ?"

Sooyeon let him inside and had people fetch his bags. "Sun-Hi & I are identical twins... As for your other question, we haven't met since your mother left for the institute when she was a teenager." His mother left, but she didn't ?

"Why didn't you attend the institute with her ? Mom never spoke of you either." Sooyeon sighed as she hated bringing up the past. However, Beomgyu had a right to know. "The bloodline chooses who shall inherit the family gift. People like us aren't suited to be at that institute. We have a bigger purpose for our family."

Gift ? What gift did she speak of ? All he knew at the moment was that it had something to do with their pureblood status. "선물? 우리 가족은 선물을 가지고 있나요?" (Gift ? Our family has a gift ?) Sooyeon nodded as she sat him down. Beomgyu quickly took notice to the green décor and furnishing of the house. It also was silent. Had no one else lived here in years ? "Yes, a gift. A power that manifests unexpectedly." 

Beomgyu thought back to what happened on his journey here. The intense anger he still very much felt. "Is it triggered by intense emotion ? How do you know you possess the gift ?" Sooyeon sat a cup of herbal mint tea in front of him. It was a shame Sun-Hi never explained anything to her nephew. 

"차를 마셔요. 그러면 제가 범규아 씨한테 설명을 해드릴게요." (Drink the tea. Once you do that I'll explain things to you, Beomgyu ah.)

Beomgyu drank his tea as instructed. Then Sooyeon began her explanation to him. The secret he never knew about his mother' side of the family. The truth that he was evaded from...
