Twenty One.

TWENTY ONE.

( I need to purge my urges, shame, shame, shame. )

Emmy had texted Hawk that she was staying over at Tory's again, and to not worry about where she was. She had almost sent Miguel the same text considering she was basically living in his apartment, but then the night events flooded her mind and she angrily deleted it.

She sat in her seat in her Math class, mindlessly scrolling through social media as she and the rest of the people in the class wait for their teacher to come in.

"Good morning, students and faculty. Welcome to a brand new-year at West Valley High. I hope you all had a wonderful summer and are ready to dive back into the school year. You can also purchase tickets for the fall musical, which will be a production of the global hit, Grease. And finally, as we embark upon another academic year, it's important to remember to be tolerant and accepting of all of our peers regardless of  Hey, what...you're not supposed to be in here!"

The sudden interruption in the morning announcements made Emmy sit up straight in her chair. What was going on?

The feedback from the microphone made her bring her hands up to her ears and then glanced around at the rest of the students around her.

"Samantha LaRusso."

Tory's voice had her hands slowly dropping, staring at the speaker. Tory had told her that she was going to miss the first few minutes of school, but never said that reason why.

"You know what you did, and now you're gonna pay for it. I'm coming for you bitch!"

The bell then rang soon after that, and Emmy bolted up from her seat and out of the classroom. She knew that Tory wasn't gonna take the news of Miguel and Sam kissing well and felt a little bit of shame for telling her.

She stopped behind a large group of people and shoved them out of her way to get to the center. Emmy then paused behind Tory and shared a glance with Robby.

"I know what you did at the party," Tory spoke to Sam. "You kissed Miguel."

Emmy felt her heart drop.

She watched as Sam looked to Robby and his face morphed into one of betrayal. Opening her mouth, Sam tried to explain herself but Tory was fed up and threw a harsh swing. Sam immediately tried to run, but Tory grabbed onto her backpack, pulling it off and throwing it to the side. Tory then kicked her in the stomach, launching back into Hawk and a few others who pushed her back in.

It wasn't long before the two girls were full on karate fighting, Sam trying to block all of Tory's hits as best she could.

Emmy stood frozen on the side, feeling her feet stuck to the ground. She didn't know if she should interject so no one got in trouble, but she feared she would be next in Tory's line of anger. But before she knew it, she caught Robby rushing towards the fighting girls, grabbing Tory's arm and pulled her away.

When Tory tried to push him away, he shoved her up against the lockers with his hand, which was placed on the exposed part of her upper body.

Emmy felt her blood boil as she saw where his hand placement was, and without thinking, she ran forward, and kicked Robby in his side, making him tumble to the floor and ultimately let go of Tory.

"Hey!" she heard someone yell from behind her. At first, she thought it was a teacher, but when she saw a flash of red pass her and tackle Robby, she knew it was Miguel.

"Are you alright?" she worriedly asked Tory. She got a nod in response and smiled in relief. However, the relief was short lived as someone pulled her back by her hair and swept her legs from under her.

Robby had managed to get away from Miguel for a second and wanted to get revenge for kicking him just now.

Her body made contact with the hard, tile floor, and she groaned, clutching her throbbing scalp.

"Oh, it is on!" Hawk yelled and an all out brawl began in the halls of West Valley High. He helped Emmy up and ran off to do what he wanted. She let him, because she had her sights on someone else.

In that moment, every piece of anger she had for her family, the betrayal Miguel gave Tory, Robby effortlessly integrating himself into the LaRusso family while she spent years wondering why they couldn't love her, all of it was heightened by the hight number possible. She looked to Tory and Sam, and clenched her fist lightly.

Karma's a bitch.

She sprinted forward, throwing Sam off of Tory and into the lockers. Her foot stomped into her stomach, and Sam howled in pain. But Emmy wasn't done. Her fist came up and struck Sam across the face, then she grabbed her by the collar of her shirt and slammed her harder into the lockers.

"I've been waiting so long to do this, you bitch!" Emmy shouted and pulled her sister away from the lockers, sending her to the floor. She looked at Tory. "Come on."

Tory grinned sinisterly and grabbed Sam by the shoulders, hauling her up and pushing her down the hall. Other students opened the door to make way for them.

Emmy jumped at the opportunity when space to fight opened and immediately tackled Sam to the floor. The older girl's back landed harshly, but she fought through the pain, kicking her sister off.

"Can't you just stop this already? I'm your sister!" Sam pleaded, but her eyes held a fiery glare.

"What's the matter? You can't keep up?" Tory mocked. Sam then turned and began to run up the stairs. The two other girls chased after her.

Tory was the first to swing, but Sam blocked her hits and pushed her towards the railing. Emmy quickly grabbed her by the shoulder, spinning her around and slammed her head against her own. She stumbled into Tory, who circled her arms around her waist, hoisting her up. Sam began to struggle as she realized she was in the mercy of her own sister.

"Go at it," Tory encouraged, digging her fingers into Sam's side.

Emmy punched Sam in the jaw and borught her head down to her knee. Sam then whipped her head up, connecting it to Emmy's jaw. The younger girl's head flew up, and an intense pain bloomed in her head. "Bitch!"

Sam shoved Tory away and continued running up the stairs. The three girls were all eventually up to the second floor of the school, the students again making a clear space where they could continue.

Emmy spun a kick her sister's way, but Sam ducked, elbowing her square in the cheek. Then Tory came and grabbed her arm, flipping her onto the floor.

Miguel came rushing up the stairs, and held onto Tory's arm. "Tory, enough!"

Suddenly, he was pulled off of her, and kicked to the floor. Miguel slid across the floor and against a pillar, breathing heavily as he looked up at Emmy, who looked back at him with a glare. "You are such an asshole."

He yelped as he rolled out of the way, barely missing the foot that came to stomp on his shoulder. Miguel then grabbed her foot and roughly yanked on it, making her fall to the ground beside him.

"Sam!" Robby shouted, coming up the stairs. Miguel and Emmy glanced at one another, and they both brought their legs up, sending Robby to the ground.

Emmy figured that Miguel would have his hands tied with Robby and apart of her wanted to see him win on his own. Even if she hated him right now.

She stood to her feet and turned to Tory grasping Sam's hair in her hand, dragging her across the floor. "Do you mind?"

Tory turned to her and smirked. "Not at all."

They traded places and Emmy dragged Sam back down the stairs like a rag doll. Sam then roughly grabbed her wrist, twisting it and kicked her away. Tory then swung her way, but the older LaRusso girl grabbed her arm and repeatedly kneed her in the stomach.

The taller girl tried to stumble away but Sam threw a punch in her face and then did a roundhouse kick to her face as well. They took a few moments to breathe, their faces bruised and bloodied.

"Is that the only way you know how to fight? Dirty?" Sam asked.

Tory began to take off her spiked bracelet. "This isn't a tournament. There are no rules."

Sam looked in fear and then Tory swung at her with the new weapon in her hand. At this point, Sam was fighting for her life, ducking out of the way as lowly as possible to avoid even the slightest chance of being cut.

But Tory managed to hold one of her arms still, and sliced through her shirt. Sam screamed in pain, falling to the floor when Tory slammed the side of her fist into her face.

The blonde grazed the spikes against her face. "No mercy." Her hand raised to finish her off, but Sam blocked it, and kicked her off of her. Tory stumbled into the stair railing, Sam rising to her feet, and kicked Tory across the face, sending her over the railing and onto the other stairs.

"Tory!" Emmy cried out, grabbing Sam's arm and twisting it behind her back. Her sister whimpered in pain. "You're gonna regret that, bitch."

Emmy then gave a harsh tug to Sam's already twisted wrist, and a sickening crack was heard. Sam screamed at the top of her lungs, Emmy just smiled and brought her knee up to her thigh before tossing her aside.

Emmy rushed down the stairs, tucking a lock of her hair behind her ear as she bent down by Tory. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah," Tory groaned, but she didn't try to get up from the floor.

Grunts from above caught their attention and both girls looked up to see Miguel and Robby fighting dangerously close to the railing. Emmy got to her feet. "They need to get away from there. Are you gonna be fine?"

Tory nodded and Emmy ran back up the stairs.

Miguel had Robby in some sort of armlock on the ground. "Miguel!"

The Diaz Boy looked up to see Emmy. Her jaw was bruised, her lip was split, there were red marks all over her arms, and for once in his entire time of knowing her, he saw fear in her eyes.

He looked in front of him, realizing the railing. Then, he looked down at the boy he had in his grasp. His mind went to what Johnny Lawrence told him, the difference between mercy and honor. Then, he let go of Robby's arm and Emmy sighed in relief. "I'm sorry."

Robby let out a sudden roar and got up from the floor, elbowing Miguel in the side of his face. He then kicked the back of his kneww and when Miguel went to get up, he kicked him in the chest.

Emmy watched in horror as Miguel went over the railing, falling straight down. "Robby! No!"

"Miguel!" she heard Tory scream.

Without another thought, she turned back around and rushed down the stairs. She made eye contact with Hawk, tears brimming her eyes. He grabbed her hand and they both walked towards Miguel's seemingly lifeless body.

Emmy felt as if she couldn't breathe. Her hands trembled along with her figure and she tucked herself into her best friend's side, letting out heartbreaking sobs.

It was all her fault.
