I was certain that I had some sort of positive effect on the beast. Even if he doesn't like me, he still wants me. That's the only reason he disclosed that I was his mate.

Was I even his mate? I'm really confused. If I was his mate, why did he wait so long to let everyone know?

I was sitting in front of the enormous fireplace when Luna Cassandra entered. I smiled at her whilst she took the seat next to me. There was an uncomfortable pause between us. Acknowledging the fact that she will not say anything, I asked the question that was bothering me so much.

"Luna, if you don't mind can I ask you something?" I asked with nervousness in my voice.

She just nodded and smiled with the graceful personality she possessed.

I gathered all the courage I had and uttered the odd question, "how old is alpha Harry?"

She hesitated for a while but then continued, "Anna let me explain everything from the start. When I was young we used to live up east. We had a lovely pack and everything was great. When I found out that Andrew was my mate, I was ecstatic. Our families were over the moon. There was an atmosphere of happiness around me. Andrew's father passed away just a year before Andrew found me. He was 19 at the time and was already crowned the alpha. Andrew's mother, Jenna loved me. She was an amazing and brave lady. Well time was very generous for our family. Andrew established a great empire with his ship business and we were very happy with our uneventful life. Harry's presence just doubled our joy."

She sighed and looked at me. I could see she didn't want to continue. However she took another breath and carried on.

"In those days there were a lot of hunter attacks so Andrew was extremely busy. On one of the darkest nights of my life, the leader of the hunting association attacked our pack. Our pack had werewolves, witches, elves and trolls. Yes, it was a unique pack. Andrew tried his best and gave them a great fight and drove them out of our land. They left but they took three individuals from us. My mother in law Jenna, harry and Liz. Liz was a witch's daughter. We tried our best but could not find any of them. After three days Harry ran into our territory bruised and bleeding. He didn't tell us much except that they killed Liz and grandma. He was just too shocked to let anyone in. He was only a child. My poor boy was only 8 years old at that time." Luna Cassandra took another breath and tears ran down her pink cheeks.

"Moon goddess knows what happened in those three days. What my boy suffered. We lost our Jenna. But the worst came after that. Liz's mother Ursula became furious. She blamed Andrew for Liz and Jenna's death. She said that he was not capable of being an alpha. Out of her anger she cursed us. She said that my son would turn into a monster. He will never love anyone and he will crave for love. He will find peace in destruction and only love can break this dark side of his. But who will love a monster," Luna broke down in an ocean of tears.

I enveloped her in my arms. I didn't know what to say. I just held her until she was ready to carry on.

"Anna he used to tear people apart with bare hands. He killed children and raped women. He hated human race. The hunters were human. They killed his grandma. We tried to tell him that not all human are the same but he had this hatred for them that it even scared us. We decided and moved here thinking that change of scenery might help him move on. But no matter what we did, he went more aggressive by the day. Andrew never allowed him to carry out his vicious acts so he started doing them underground. Everyone knew who he was. People used to stay away from him. They feared him and we hated that. But we couldn't do anything. He never left any evidence. He blamed things on rogue attacks or suicide. I was devastated but kept hope. When he turned 16, I was so happy that he might find his mate and she will change him. But years kept on passing by and nothing happened. When he turned 30, he stopped looking for his mate. He gave up all hope. But he became even more aggressive. Who knew after 6 years he will find his mate and that as beautiful as you," she said with her eyes sparkling with tears.

Wait did she just say the monster was 36. What the hell am I going to do? I just turned 16. He was 20 years older than me. Surprisingly I wasn't disgusted by the fact that we had such a huge age gap. I was more anxious about being his mate.

For a brief second I felt sorry for him. He lost his grandmother. What he must have been through but then all the sympathy vanished. He has done too much harm to get anyone's sympathy. Besides I didn't plan on spending my life with him. I just needed enough time to manipulate him to leave me.

I just smiled at Luna Cassandra and gave her a tight hug. She expressed how happy she was to share all of this information with me.

She stood up from her spot and started walking out of the room.

She stopped in her tracks and turned to me, "Anna I know he has done some unforgivable things. Please give him a chance, please save him."

She quickly turned on her heel and left leaving me shocked and conflicted.
