Chapter 8 - The Cafe

*(YN) POV*

"(Y/N)?" The tall black haired man stared down at me.

"Yeah."

"Umm..." He looked down at his lap, fiddling with his fingers. He was so much more awkward in real life than I thought he was but he was a nice person in real life and not to mention a real gentleman. What he said next I was not expecting. "Well, I know that we've only known each other for a few days but... but I really like you, like like you...." I just stared at him as he trailed off, his pale skin turning bright pink. I had only known him for a few days but I felt like I had known him for a lot longer. My heart beat fast in my chest and my palms were all sweaty. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable-" Without thinking I stand up, my knee hitting the table which causes it to be pushed and then I tightly wrap my arms around his neck.

"It's ok Phil. I like you too." I whisper. He slowly wraps his arms around my waist and I feel him smile into my shoulder. Our hearts beat strongly in time. I pulled away and he took my hands. I was smiling so hard that my face muscles were hurting but for one of the first times I was genuinely happy. His fringe was starting to part so I ran a finger across and straighten it up.

"Thanks." He said shyly. His blue eyes shone a million colours and glistened in the light coming from the window. I sat back down in my seat as Dan came back whistling.

"What did I miss." He paused and looked at out smiling faces. My face went a deeper shade of red. "Okay..." He sat back down. Under the table I felt Phil's long fingers intertwine with mine which caused my heart to skip a beat. Never did I ever think my life would end up like this, the impossible had happened. Before I was scared of what was to come and sad about my father making me leave, but now, I had no regrets just like my father told me to do.

The waitress from before came back holding our meals. She put them gently in front of us the poured water in their glasses. As she poured mine she knocked over the cup and freezing cold water soaked my jumper, going through my shirt and wetting my skin. I flinched and glared at the already smirking woman. "Oh, I am sorry." She walked away and attended someone else. I grabbed napkins off the table and tried to dry the water off.

"Here." Phil started taking off his jacket, he was wearing a jumper underneath that.

"Thanks." I smiled at him and peeled off my jumper. After a good five minutes of eating and attempting to soak off the water on my shirt I slipped the jacket on. It smelt so nice and instantly made me warm up.

"Soo..." Dan trailed off. "(Y/N), do you have a job?"

"Umm, no. Although I was a doctor back home."

"Oh my god (Y/N), that's amazing." Phil chimed in.

"Really? Well, it's never what I really wanted to do, I-I..." I trailed off.

"Never wanted to do what?" Dan asked. I took a deep breath in.

"W-Well I had a very controlling mother and I still wasn't good enough for her, I've never had real friends and once I did we moved away from them so I wouldn't see them ever again. I'm the kind of person who doesn't fit into this world. I'm my own category if you know what I mean." Phil squeezed my shoulder reassuringly.

"Are you going to be applying for another job? Oh god that must sound rude, I'm so sorry (Y/N)." Dan says quickly.

"It's ok." I giggle. "Well, I don't think so. My dad told me to do something I enjoy and... well I guess I don't know what I enjoy, I've never really had a hobby."

"You could try a collab with us." Phil smiled.

"Really?!" I almost shout. "I'd love that; it'd be like a dream come true. That sounded creepy." They just chuckled at me and I laughed along.

"C'mon, let's go." Dan said standing up and paying for the meal. As we walk back outside into the snow I look back into the window and see the waitress glaring at me.

"What's her problem."

"I don't know." Phil took my hand which caused me to smile. "But if I was you I wouldn't worry about it." His pale skin blended in with his surroundings.

"Probably die-hard shipper." Dan butted in.

"Oh yeah..." We decided to walk all the way back, which to be honest was quite tiring.

"Want to come in for tea?" Dan asked.

"Sure." I walked inside and Phil ran over and started the fire place. He let out a little yelp of surprise when the flames came roaring up at him. He flopped down in Dan's sofa crease and patted the place next to him. I unzipped the jacket and lay it next to the couch then sat carefully down next to him. He put an arm around my shoulders and smiled at me. My heart fluttered, his smile was so perfect and pure, the way his whole face would scrunch up. Dan came walking back into the room carefully balancing three cups of tea.

"Oi! You two, out of my sofa crease." We shifted over and Dan passed us the tea then sat proudly in his crease. I slid my arm around Phil's back and took a sip from the warm tea.
