↳ The Whirlwind Drift Of Andie

In this chapter you will find an interview with Spinel243. He is an action/fantasy writer with books about FNAF, Heaven and zombies. Formerly a reviewer and admin, Andie is regular member of the server.

Interviewer: CoffeeAndSilverInk

Astrid: Hello, Andie. How are you doing?

Andie: I'm doing...mostly okay. How about you?

Astrid: I'm good.

So I was going to begin this very differently but I must ask a very important question everyone on the server wants to know. Why Andie as your pen name or internet name?

Andie: Well, there's two reasons.

Number one, I think at this point I identify as demiboy, which is basically half-male and half-non-binary. So I wanted to pick a name that was somewhat androgynous.

Number two, the name Andie is actually the name of the antagonist in my book CLOUD 7EVEN. It's very similar to the Greek word for "anti", which makes sense given that she's the villain.

Which is why I chose Andie as my name.

Astrid: You joined Wattpad in 2020 but you have already posted 15 books on your profile. What is the secret? How did you write 15 books in only 2 years?

Andie: It's been 15? Wow, heh I didn't even realize.

Really, I just love to write. Writing is my escape from the mental problems I deal with, so I crank out books super fast. They're not always the best quality, but I defintely put time into them. My "seceret" is really to not have much of a plan. If you wanna write fast, just do it.

Which honestly isn't a good idea if writing isn't your therapy

Also, most of my books fit into a series of some sort so I have a large story half-planned which helps speed things along and each book is pretty short.

Astrid: All slow writers are taking notes 😂

About your book series, most specifically Five Nights at Freddy's, you were featured on GTLive on Youtube. Did you know that channel before?

Andie: Actually yes, I'm a huge fan of the Theorist channels as a whole. The only reason my book was featured at all is because I posted it on their subreddit and it got mixed into their meme review. Which was pretty embarrasing. But it did help my book blow up. Sadly it wasn't finished when it was featured, so most people didn't stay for the conclusion.

Astrid: Do you think that mention, besides attracting readers to your story, helped your Wattpad profile grow? I mean, do you think some of your readers and followers are still people who watched that video?

Andie: Surprisingly, I only gained like 5-10 followers from that althought thousands of people saw it.

Astrid: At least you gained something from that incident.

Andie: True.

Astrid: We know where that story came from, but what about your other series, Cloud 9ine? How did that start?

Andie: I have a list of story concepts. The entry for this one was simply "Cloud Nine". I wanted to apply the phrase "I'm living on cloud nine" to a different level. So I quickly came up with a plot on the fly(don't try that at home) and here we are with 2 books, a third one in progress, a spin-off series, and complimentary stories to those books.

Another thing on my list was my zombie story, Z-OM.

Astrid: Wow spin-off series. Are we seeing that anytime soon?

Andie: Well you've already seen part of it, you'll just have to read between the lines to find it 😉

Astrid: Don't tease me, mister.

Where did the inspiration for Tetra and the rest of the characters come from? Did they just appear as you started writing or was there something or someone from whom you got the inspiration for them?

Andie: They kinda just appeared. Evyn and Ava were defintely the most surprising even for me with their demon/angel origins. Which is the problem with not planning, things just happen. Real people don't usually inspire my stories often, so no.

Astrid: No, I know what you mean. When you're writing something in a fantastical universe rather than our real universe you need characters that suit that universe, and you can't take that inspiration from real people. Was that what you meant?

Andie: Well not just that, but besides my latest story, real people in my life don't really inspire characters or scenarios. Even if the story is more grounded. Maybe that'll change in the future though.

Astrid: Earlier you mentioned Z-OM. How did you go from angels and Heaven to a zombie apocalypse?

Andie: Well. I like zombies. They're just done the same way all the time, so I thought I'd change that. Plus, it's on my list. I also wanted a more grounded story to write. The afterlife can be anything, but the Earth has to be a bit more stable y'know?

Astrid: Yeah, I get it.

So where did that famous list come from? Is it about everything you ever want to write?

Andie: Well my one problem is that when I come up with an idea, I forget it kinda fast. So I started writing them down as they came and slowly it grew into a short list. Right now, yes it's everything I wanna write but it'll grow in the future. I'd show it to you but that would spoil some of the future stories you'll be reading.

Astrid: And have you crossed many items with your 15 stories? Or are you still far away from the last item on the list right now?

Andie: I kinda jump around. The first 2 things aren't even crossed out and the last thing is.

Astrid: It's more interesting like that *inserts SG :teehee: emoji*

Do you still have many left?

Andie: I have quite a few left, but hopefully the list grows later so I don't run out of things to write 😅

Astrid: So you joined the Savant Girls on Discord in January to be a reviewer. Why the SG?

Andie: Well, I like the homey feeling. Dreamland(sorry) felt too robotic and stiff. Plus I figured I could be more help in a smaller community than a larger one.

Astrid: So do you think we were the right choice? Are you liking our server so far?

Andie: Most definitely. I love everyone here and I just feel so welcome and at home.

Astrid: What are some things you like about the SG server that you would tell someone about to convince them to join us?

Andie: Hmm

It's smaller, so you cannot get lost. And everyone is very very nice here. No trolls, no bullies. (There is a jokester but we love him)

You're also really allowed to help out however you can if you prove yourself

Astrid: Yeah we love our resident Parrot, he makes everything much better😂

What is to you the biggest challenge in writing?

Andie: For me, it's describing emotions and surroundings. It sounds like an excuse to many, but depression is very good at making it hard to enjoy the things around you. Sunsets don't look good. Mountain views look okay. Flowers don't look that cool. And emotions are dialed to very low levels. Obviously, it's different for everybody, but it's very hard to describe feelings or places if you can't see much of it yourself y'know? I'm working on it as best as I can but it's definitely difficult.

Astrid: I, and many writers, can totally relate to that, unfortunately. I hope you learn how to overcome that struggle and that you win the battle against depression.

Do you have any advice for writers?

Andie: I think the best advice I have is to not give up. Often will you feel like your writing sucks. I definitely do. But if you give up, it can't get better and you can't get more confident. Just keep going. Writing is a beauty even if it's not JK Rowling or CS Lewis or Shakespeare.

Astrid: Well, Andie, this is it for today. Thank you so much for letting me rob a little of your time. I enjoyed getting to know you and I hope many will see this and read your wonderful books. *inserts SG :yellowcandyheart: emoji*

Andie: And thanky for interviewing me UwU

Inventor questions

Devian: What was the first thing that attracted you to SG in wattpad? Was it because of the review shop? Or something else?

Andie: I was actually looking for an awards thing. They were old, but then I found the review shop and I was interested in helping out.

Devian: Oh so you were interested in awards... yes they're old.

Can you tell me what were your first impressions when you joined Savant G. discord?

Andie: When I first joined, everyone was very friendly and welcoming. And I felt like it would be a fun place to stay. And it is.

Devian: Aww that is very nice of you to think that way. It's great that this server is makes you feel that way because that was what I hope it would feel :D

My next question will be what is one thing you enjoy most when you became a SG Reviewer? And what is one thing you dislike the most in this position?

Andie: I enjoy most being able to give people feedback on their work. It's hard to get feedback often so giving it to others is nice.

My dislike is the amount of time it takes to read a story

Devian: I can relate to this actually. And I hate it when the books I review needs a lot of work because it will decrease my motivation to read it.

What are your dreams as a writer? Or what do you hope to achieve with your works?

Andie: I just wanna publish and sell one day, regardless of how good it is. As long as I get that, I'm happy.

Devian: Me too!
