1)Introduce yourself! Tell me how long you've been on WP, and what made you interested to be a WP writer/start writing here?
angeldawn: Hello, I'm Angel and I've been on Wattpad for seven years now, though I did quit writing for about two years in between. I came across this app not long after I started on paper and thought it would be the perfect place to post my stories.
2) You participated in the Savant Awards in May 2022 and the book you entered "Is It True Love?", won first place in romance. How did you feel about it when you heard the announcement? Was this your first time entering a contest? If so, were you nervous?
angeldawn: Unexpected but I was happy about my win. I've entered many contests before on my first account but I never won much in general, especially first place. My writing has gotten better to how crappy it was back then and I hope to further improve.
3) What are some other awards or contests you took part in? What are your views about participating in these events generally? Did you enjoy them?
angeldawn: I've been participating in other awards similar to these and just began entering special categories as well. I think it is a good way to get your book out there, and props to all those who take the time to host them.
4) Was there any particular reason for participating in TSA? xD
angeldawn: I noticed the awards was open with people spreading the word and didn't want to waste an opportunity to join.
5) How was your experience when writing "Is It True Love?"? Was it an easy process? Which parts did you struggle with the most?
angeldawn: Well, this story like most others is based on the original script I wrote back in high school before I switched to a novel format. It removed writer's block from the actual plot, but it was still tricky to add nicer descriptions.
6) How do you feel about your current book?
angeldawn: I'm pleased with the final result. Common mistakes I made with my previous failed stories have now been fixed. Always still room for more growth though!
7) Would you call yourself a Pantser, Plotter or a Plantser? (If you're not clear what they mean basically a Pantser is a writer who wings it, while a Plotter plots out the details, and a Plantser is both)
angeldawn: Definitely a plotter though I'm trying to be a mixture of the two. It does enable me to avoid plot holes and keep good pacing. However, I sometimes over-plan, and sorting through pages of notes can be stressful! I'd like to minimize jotting down the little details moving forward.
8) What was one thing you enjoyed the most while participating in TSG? Or one thing you disliked?
angeldawn: The rules were reasonable making the process smooth, plus rewarding interviews is a huge bonus! I don't recall anything I disliked about the awards.
9) What do you think would help WP writers, other than hosting awards? Do you think you would be receptive to the notion that a community book that contains writing advice? Would you read something like that? >.<
angeldawn: I believe book clubs are great for people who have time on their hands. (Though some with a larger window to read their assigned book would be perfect ) I'd be interested to read a book about writing tips that can help both new and old writers on here.
10) Are you comfortable with us posting the interview responses and questions?
angeldawn: I don't mind this getting posted at all^^
