"The Murder Of Alaistair Lysen" -- won third place in the Paranormal/Supernatural category of SGA in May 2022. It's a young adult romance with a wistful paranormal twist.

1) Introduce yourself! How long have you been on WP? What made you interested to become a WP writer/start writing here?

Rvelra: hello, I'm Rvelra and I've been on Wattpad for over two years!

I have been interested in writing here as soon as I discovered fanfiction. But when I realised the story I wanted to hear wasn't here, so I decided to go write it myself. And here I am, with kickass books but no one to read them ☠️

2) You participated in the Savant Awards May 2022 and the book you entered "The Murder Of Alastair Lysen", won third place in the Supernatural/Paranormal category. What were you feeling when you heard the announcement? Was this your first time winning a contest?

Rvelra: Ah, what I felt can only be described as a giddy drive. It sent me to the moon really, though I have won contests before - every time I win one, it feels like the first. ಥ‿ಥ/♡

3) Do you think participating in such contests will help your writing? Why or why not?

Rvelra: Yes, because usually the judges offer constructive criticism that would help me improve my work and in turn, make me a better writer.

4) Was there any particular reason for participating in the Savant Awards? xD

Rvelra: My friend told me to ☠️

5) How did writing "The Murder Of Alastair Lysen" go about? Which parts did you struggle with the most?

Rvelra: It was like a fever dream, no cap. I wrote that thing in 8 hours with no breaks and I'm honestly surprised that I still remember what it's about ☠️ I honestly have no recollection of the time I wrote it, and whether I struggled or not. Because at the moment I feel like I dragged myself through the whole thing lmao.

6) How do you feel about your book currently?

Rvelra: Quite proud actually. I wouldn't change a thing, I like how it turned out.

7) Where do you usually get your writing inspos? Especially your characters-- a sassy ghost and a shy girl who's a perfect student?

Rvelra: I get my inspiration from another world. The dream world. Or usually when my parents are yelling at me. The real most inconvenient times like if someone for example dies in a movie or show I'm watching, like super brutally and the other people around me are crying and sobbing their eyes out, I will be whipping out a notepad and writing down every detail of the death and making notes next to it like : how cool would it be if this guys ghost came out and haunted this place for the next hundred years or sum ☠️ I have no filter at this point.

8) Even though the plot of the book was a little cliche, where a bad boy meets a good girl and both fall for each other, how did you change it so that there was an original twist to that storyline?

Rvelra: Tara if you recall, actually is a terrible student, she gets bad grades and everything and is usually somewhat scary. Alastair is the hot good student with perfect grades and abs ☠️ I felt that I should end it at a crush, right person wrong time thing, because I think necromany would've been a tad bit too far XD

9) What was one thing you like or dislike about the Savant Awards? (Could be the way we hosted it etc.)

Rvelra: the only thing I didn't like was that i didn't win 1st place ☠️ jk, jk, honestly the judges were amazing and all of you at the Savant Awards were phenomenal. No complaints from my side. (^3^)
