Chapter 39: Escaping Or Maybe Not

Sam

"Okay, so here's the plan. All of us are going to sneak out. And if we get caught, we tell them we are going for a walk. Got it guys?" I asked Kyrn, Bruce, Isaac, and Max.

"Roger that captain." Max saluted.

Bruce slapped him upside the head. "Idiot."

"At least he gets us to laugh," Kyrn commented.

I nodded. "This is true. Without him being as he is, I don't think I could have lasted in this prison."

Everyone nodded in agreement.

"Ready guys?" Bruce said, grabbing a book bag stuffed with guns and other weapons.

"Ready," we said standing up.

"Let's roll," Max said.

We quickly snuck out the back door and managed to get past the wolves and a couple of hunters.

"How long have we been walking?" Max complained for the one-hundredth time.

I looked down at my watch. "Ten minutes," I said.

"That's too long," Max dragged on.

"Are you sure you weren't dropped on your head when you were younger?" Kyrn asked, laughing.

"There might have been a possibility," Max said as he stopped walking to think.

"Might? I'm pretty sure you were," Isaac laughed.

I cracked up a little but tried to cover it up with a cough.

"Ha ha. Aren't you hilarious?" Max playfully sneered.

Isaac smirked and held his hands up in surrender.

"You guys are such children. How I did get stuck with you?" Bruce asked, noticing we all stopped.

"Well if you want to go back and work for Brett and Trey, be my guest," I said folding my arms over my chest.

Bruce quickly shook his head. "No, no. I'm fine."

I smiled in victory. "That's what I thought."

"That's what I thought," he mimicked in a high pitched voice.

"One, girls don't sound like that, and two, you are being immature."

"Immature is a word that boring people use to describe fun people," Max said.

"I am not boring!" I shouted, laughing at him.

"Well," Max trailed off looking everywhere but me.

I kicked him in the shin.

"I am a very fun person. Now shut up." I laughed.

He hugged his shin. "Violent women."

"You have no idea." Kyrn laughed as we started walking again.

We had been walking for over an hour and Max wouldn't stop complaining. He either said that his feet hurt, he was hungry, he was too tired, or he was bored. But every time he talked, he came up with a new excuse. It was funny at first, but it was getting annoying.

"Then have Bruce or Isaac carry you!" Kyrn yelled.

"Hell no!" Bruce and Isaac yelled at the same time.

"Then have Sam-"

"Don't even finish that sentence Kyrn. You know I can't lift him. He is like ninety-nine percent fat. He's too heavy," I said while Bruce and Isaac laughed.

Max did a girly gasp. "Am I really that fat?"

"Yes honey you are," Kyrn said in sympathy while she laid a hand on his shoulder.

"What do we have here?" We heard a voice.

We turned around to see one of the rogues that were guarding Chloe's cell and a couple of others.

"There is a thing called a bath. They need to use it," Kyrn whispered to me.

I busted out laughing.

"What are you laughing about?" The rogue sneered at me.

I snapped out of it and looked at him. "Nothing," I said quickly trying not to laugh.

"Bull shit. Tell me what she said."

"If you say so," I said shrugging. "She said that there is this wonderful thing called a bath and you guys should really invest in one."

"She said that?" The rogue asked out of anger.

I nodded as well and Kyrn.

"Well, I kind of do agree with her. It would do you guys wonders if you really invested in one. I mean seriously. How are you supposed to get girlfriends if you go around smelling like that?" I questioned. "Here, I'll give you a little 'Getting a Girlfriend 101'. Girls like it when you smell nice. Now go back and take a shower."

"And use some Axe," Kyrn said plugging her nose.

The rogue was literally shaking with anger while the others were trying not to laugh.

Did I ever tell you how much fun it is pissing these guys off? Well if I didn't, it is so much fun.

"Now. Let's finish these guys," Isaac said with his glowing eyes.

"Oh you're on," a rogue said.

"Bring it." I smirked.

Brett

"That meeting was so boring," Trey said as we were walking up to the base house.

"It was," I agreed laughing. "I'm just glad it's over. That and the fact that we got to leave early."

Trey laughed. "I agree. Getting to leave three hours early is nice. Well more like sneaking out. I couldn't handle being in that meeting any longer."

"Same. I just hope Sam is ready." I smirked to Trey. He must have had the same idea because he too smirked.

"Sam!" I yelled as I walked into the house.

I couldn't stop the smile from coming up on my face as I heard footsteps coming down the stairs. Oh how much I love my little sweetie pie.

But the smile dropped from my face as soon I saw it was just some rogue.

"Oh. Hey bosses." He waved.

"Wait," I said.

He stopped and turned around. "Need something?" He asked.

"Where's Sam?" I asked him.

"Oh. I think she and Kyrn went with Bruce, Max, and Isaac to go train. They were getting bored."

"Do you know where they went? Because we passed the training field and didn't see them," Trey said starting to get worried.

The rogue shook his head. "Sorry boss. I don't."

"Go assemble a search party," I said.

He nodded and left to go outside.

"Do you think they ran away?" Trey asked.

I shook my head. "They couldn't have. Two reasons. One, she's knows how much trouble she would be in, and two, they love us. Remember?"

Trey smiled and nodded. Then his smile disappeared. "Wait a minute."

"What?" I asked, wondering what he just thought of.

"We let Chloe go," he said slowly.

"Do you think?" I asked afraid.

"But she couldn't have known where we are located. She was blindfolded the whole time," Trey said.

"This doesn't make sense."

"Boss!" We heard someone yell from behind us.

We turned around to see a couple of hunters and some rogues sprinting our way.

"What?" Trey and I asked.

"They got away." One of the rogues said with wide eyes.

"Who?" I asked, getting upset.

"The girls, as well as Bruce, Max, and Isaac."

I frowned. "So we have some traitors," I said through gritted teeth.

The rogue nodded. "We found about five bodies of our rogues dead in a clearing."

"How far from here?" Trey asked.

"About twelve miles," A hunter said.

"They got pretty far," Trey said shocked looking at me.

"I've underestimated my little princess," I said in anger. But I will say I am a little bit impressed. "Let's load up the cars. Rogues will shift and go on foot since they can get through the trees better than the cars can."

I saw them nod and they all turned around to go warn everyone.

"Let's go," I said as Trey nodded.

All that I could think of was that Sam was getting it when I got her back.

"How did they find us?" Kyrn asked as we were running through the forest and dodging all the trees and bushes.

"How am I supposed to know?" I asked running as well.

"This is taking too long," Bruce said coming to a complete stop.

Max and Isaac nodded.

"Then what do you suggest?" Kyrn asked.

"We will shift and you guys get on our backs. It will go faster," Isaac said.

Kyrn and I nodded and we turned around so that they can shift. I turned around when I felt something against my hand.

I nodded to them and put all of their clothes inside the back bag and I climbed on Bruce's back as Kyrn went on Isaac's back.

As they were running, I looked down at Bruce's wolf.

I felt a tear slip my eye as I thought about the day I rode on Xavier's wolf back.

I let out a sob and this caused Max to look at me.

"I miss Xavier," I said sadly looking down and playing with Bruce's fur.

Bruce must have heard because he doubled his pace.

I looked at Kyrn and she gave me a small smile. I could see her crying as well.

"Don't worry. We will get back to them," I said, determined.

"I hope you are right," she said, looking ahead.

When we got out of the forest, we saw a road in front of us.

Kyrn and I got off the guys, and they went back behind a tree to shift.

"We escaped!" I screamed hugging Kyrn.

But our smiles dropped when we saw a couple of black Suburbans come screeching our way.

They stopped in front of us and hunters came piling out as well as Brett and Trey.

"Or maybe not," I said sadly.

Brett smirked and folded his arms over his chest. "Sam, Sam, Sam," he tsked, shaking his head with that stupid smirk still on his face.

I gulped and stood behind the guys as they made a wall in front of me and Kyrn.

"It's a shame that you guy betrayed us," Trey said standing next to Brett. "You guys were excellent fighters."

"We were tired of taking orders from you," Isaac spat.

"And what you guys did to these girls was wrong," Max said.

"Here's right. If I would have known the whole story, I wouldn't have gotten them for you two. You guys disgust me," Bruce growled.

I watched as Brett shrugged. "I'll live with it."

"Now if you guys will come with us." Trey smiled wickedly.

"That's not happening."

I watched as Brett and Trey got extremely angry.

I was confused as to what was going on.

That was until both Kyrn and I turned around.

"Xavier," I whispered lookingup at him.
