Springlife's Eyes (Goretober)

I think the lighting on this one is a bit intense, I couldn't decide if I hated or loved it, but I decided to love it.
Also, this is the first one I've drawn that has actually given me a bit of chills.

They say eyes are the window to the heart.
But if I can't have your heart, I'm going to have to take those eyes.
Hook stepped back and admired his work, the beautiful decorations that let him admire Springlife forever. Her beautiful face, those delicate talons that fit with his, her cold, soft scales rubbing against his was so comforting to Hook.
But the most beautiful part of Springlife had always been her gleaming grey eyes. Those eyes that used to shine in the silver moonlight, the same color as them, now shone in the fiery light of the lanterns in the deepest parts of the cave.
He still remembered her words, "Hook, I'm sorry. I just don't love you."
But if she took his heart, he had every right to hers. So that's just what he'd done. Ripped out her heart and taken it for himself, mounting her head to always be visible as he worked on his next project.
Hook had always loved doing science with Springlife, arguing over materials and how much of a chemical to use. But now he was in charge, performing experiments with her watching him, those eyes next to his working talons, just a safe distance away. Her pretty face looking down from the wall as he glanced into her empty eye sockets, pondering how those were the same eye sockets that once held the eyes in his very talons, that eyes that used to blink with life.
But now there was no life in Springlife's eyes. Never again would there be.
Those eyes were Hook's now.
