"Is it just me..or does Rat seem..Happy?" Wally whispered as Rat passed by to head to the refrigerator, whistling a tune. Honestly, It was freaking wally out."
"Whatever, he got us out of a boring mission and into one that actually had risks. " Roy commented. He had a somewhat mutual understanding with Rat, considering that they had just finished a mission involving the injustice league..an important mission that Rat basically clawed out of Batman for them. Honestly the teen did not seem to know the meaning of fear..or a filter; but, Roy can respect the weirdo for that.
"What's this?" Wally joked. "Did I just hear Roy of all people defend Rat? I think we need to call the League, the world is ending."
Dick popped his head around the corner, almost looking hopeful. "The world is ending?"
Roy rolled his eyes. "Go back to your lair, Rat."
Rat of course did not do what he was told, Instead he walked over and plopped himself right next to Roy. "Awe come on!~ it is such a beautiful October day, we should be cherishing it to it's full potential!"
Wally cringed. "Who are you and what have you done with Rat?"
"Oh don't be such a Fuckboy Walls. ITS OCTOBER! The skeleton war, halloween decorations the free candy! I thought you of all people would understand the glory of this month!" Rat looked almost offended.
"Wait..You are in a good mood because it's halloween season?" Roy asked skeptically. Then again... Rat was creepy..Halloween is basically the celebration of creepy things...guess it made sense.
"Yep." Dick popped the 'p' as he said it, testing his luck and wrapping an arm around Roy. "Tis the season to be scary. I was thinking about a horror marathon. That is if you get your parent permission slips signed so you can watch something that's rated over G"
Roy rolled his eyes, getting irritated. "We are not children we can watch whatever we want."
"So what you are saying is... You are actually accepting my invitation?" Dick drawled out, wanting a reply.
"Will there be snacks!?" Wally asked loudly.
"Of course there will be snacks!" Dick sounded offended at the question.
"Then I'm In." Wally confirmed.
"It will be a good chance to strengthen bonds between teammates." Kaldur added in
"Nothing better to do." Connor grumbled.
"I will go too!" M'gann smiled.
Rat clapped his hands. "Good, now that that's settled... I need to go grab supplies~"
-----
"Horror night? Seriously?" Jason asked, grabbing the projector from one of rat's many piles of junk.
"Why not? I mean, It's October little Rat."
Jason scrunched his nose slightly. "It is a wonder honestly how you keep me hidden, Batman has not even once come down here to investigate the Rat activity."
"Of course he hasn't. Because I am keeping him distracted--which by the way you're welcome."
"Well it seems you are warming up to the idea of a team." Jason trailed off.
Rat froze for a brief moment before scoffing. "No I am not. I just want to see their horrified faces. Sidekicks are always squeamish at blood and guts-- And I am bringing out the classics! You know what? I think it's time you show yourself to the team, hiding you has become too much work."
Jason paled "Y..you're joking right?"
Rat laughed "Only half joking." Dick through a hoody to Jason. "No worries I can hack into the system and get you in no sweat."
"You have officially lost it!" Jason hissed. "What am I supposed to do, walk in like 'Hey I'm Rat's decoy while he goes and plays hero with you all'?"
Rat shrugged, digging out a domino mask that he had stolen from the batcave. Well, Bats gave it to him, but like hell he would wear it, it looked foolish. Rat removed his own and placed the domino mask in its place. "Well, in the holiday spirit, I guess it would not be uncommon to wear a costume. Let's see..." Dick scavenged around, looking for more 'hero' like objects. Cape: check. Kevlar-- he can patch something up.. "Okkkaayyyy then!~"
"You look stupid." Jason laughed. "What even is the point of all this Rat?"
"Well there Can't be two Rat's can there?" Dick smirked before giving a small shrug. "I'm thinking Robin."
"Robin?" Jason rose an eyebrow in confusion.
"Yeah, as my name." Dick grinned.
"Why that name of all names..? It sounds..weird."
Dick frowned for the briefest of moments, his mind going back to the memory of his parents, his mom always calling him her little robin. He cut his reminiscing short. "Why? Because It also starts with an 'R'. Duh. It would make things so much easier.
"Uh..whatever you say..But how does this involve me again?"
"I don't honestly know anymore." Dick admitted, cackling a bit. "I guess It is an excuse to bring you along so I don't have to suffer alone."
"You invited them, you are the one who shot yourself in the foot."
"Well my hindsight is 20/20. "Dick rolled his eyes. "Come on 'Rat' this will be like some freaky friday shit."
"What are you talking about?" Jason asked, though he really feared the answer.
"Well the Movie night is next week. Meaning YOU my dear Jason, get to be Rat for a week."
"Wait...you want me to pretend to be you!?"
"Don't sound so shocked. You say it like you haven't been doing that already"
"Not in front of the Young Justice group, OR BATMAN!!" Jason groaned. "He will find out right away!"
"Oh relax. I told the bat that I will be staying at the Mountain because I have business involving 'team bonding'. Sure he was skeptical, but he allowed it. Mostly because he knows I would go behind his back and do it anyway. Besides, I never take my mask off. Speaking of which" Dick handed his mask to Jason.
Jason stared at it in shock. "But..your eyes! Aren't they sensitive?"
Dick tapped the domino mask. "Transition lenses, don't sweat it little rat. Besides, you need the outfit in order to make it more believable.
"No one is going to believe this." Jason grumbles.
"Oh come on. All you have to do is lock yourself in my bedroom, watch TV and make a reference or snarky comment every now and then" Dick headed out the door, a mischievous grin on his face. Time to play hero.
Jason just stood there dumbfounded with the mask still in his hand. "I don't even know where your room is..."
