Adrien looked at the black paw in his hand. The way it glittered in the dim light of his lamp enchanted him. He heard Plagg sigh behind him as the black kwami came to sit down in front of him, resting on the rim of the lamp on his desk.

"I thought you were gonna give it back to her."

Adrien sighed and clenched his hand tightly around it, bringing his closed fist to his face.

"I was... I guess it's harder than I thought. I mean, she's different. There's just something so different about her. She's changed in a way that I can't describe, and I'm still trying to debate on whether or not it's a good change."

A scream cut their conversation short, echoing throughout the night. A familiar scream.

"Plagg, transform me!" Adrien quickly transformed, turning into Chat Noir and leaping off into the night. The scream echoed again and he landed on the top of the Eiffel Tower, peering down at the sight below him.

Chloe was dangling in a man's, no, teenage boy's grasp. Said boy was wearing a familiar dark purple and black suit.

Sandman.

Chloe screamed again.

"Chat Noir! Ladybug!" the blonde girl narrowed her blue eyes on Sandman. "You are crinkling my shirt! This is Chanel! Do you know what that is? Do you know who I am?"

Chat rolled his eyes at her. Of course she only cares about her clothes and herself. But something caught his eyes. Hands tied above her head by her wrists, hanging off the corner of the Tower by a single rope. Chat quickly leapt into action, bounding down to Marinette. He could see the the rope tearing with his enhanced sight as Marinette hung over the edge, a few feet below the metal ledge and a white cloth tied around her mouth.

"Chat Noir." Chat skidded to a stop, just a few feet away from Marinette. He met Sandman's glare, staring him dead in the eye.

"Sandman. Long time no see. Thought you had finally left. Guess I was wrong." The entire time he spoke, he was slowly walking back towards Marinette.

"I would stop moving if I were you, Chat Noir."

Chat froze in mid step as he glared at Sandman.

"It would be a shame if you had to lose both Marinette and the mayor's daughter."

"I honestly couldn't care about Chloe." Chat spat as he inched his way towards Marinette.

"Your choice."

The rope around Marinette's wrists loosened, causing her to fall. The black paw pendant at her chest flung in the air as she fell down. The ropes quickly tightened and she dangled even further below the tower.

Wait, where did she get that necklace? I thought I still had it...

He frowned. If she has the necklace then this must be...

Suddenly Adrien lurched forward. His hand that was still holding the necklace was clenched to his chest and his entire body was sweaty and he was slightly panting.

He's back.

Adrien had an uneasy feeling the next day. If Sandman hade given him, well, nightmares, then that means he might be after Marinette again. So, like the normal rational person he was, he watched Marinette from afar, hidden from her sight.

He kept his eyes out for anyone who looked even remotely close to Sandman.

"Chat?"

Shit.

"Heyyy, Princess. What are you doing here?"

"This is my room."

"I... I actually don't have an answer for that." The pointer finger he was holding up slowly fell to his side as he spoke.

"Well, don't just stand there, come in." She grabbed his wrist and pulled him into the pink room.

"So, did you want something?"

Chat nodded and fished inside his pockets for something.

"I thought I'd better give this back to you." He pulled out the diamond necklace, letting it hang off his finger so she could look at it.

"I thought I lost it!"

"What?"

"Yeah, I remembered there being a black diamond necklace. You were the one who gave it to me?" Chat nodded as he walked behind her. He put the necklace in like he did for her birthday. He stepped back to admire his master piece.

"There. Now you're complete."

Okay I lied about this being a long chapter. This is kinda a filler chapter so it's short but something should happen in the next one.
