Chapter One
He had chosen her. Instead of grabbing the akuma to save the world, he saved his world. His Princess. Marinette.
He nervously paced around the hospital room that had a strong smell of disinfectant spray. He was yanking his blonde hair through his gloved hands and sighed impatiently.
He's been waiting for three hours for Marinette to wake up, and to say he was worried is understatement. He sighed once more and sat himself down in the seat place next to the bed his girlfriend was lying on.
He held her hand and placed his forehead on her stomach.
"Please, Princess, I need you to wake up." He slowly began to fall asleep on top of her, after many nights of no sleep.
He watched Marinette be pushed off by the teen who was previously Sandman.
"Mari!" He screamed out. Without a second thought, Chat raced to where she fell before diving off after the love of his life.
His hand grabbed her wrist and she clasped hers onto his. Before he could do anything, her head slammed against the metal bars of the Eiffel Tower, from the sudden stop and lost consciousness.
Chat let out a fear filled cry before using the side of the Eiffel Tower to boost him off into the direction of the nearest hospital.
Chat woke up from the terrible memory.
He should have tried harder. He couldn't save her because he wasn't strong. He wasn't like Ladybug. He was Chat Noir, the definition of unlucky, always screwing everything up. And now, the one thing he did get lucky with, is lying unconscious on a hospital bed looking like death.
A groan made him return from his deep thinking.
"Princess!" Chat leapt from his chair and quickly cupped her face before kissing her deeply and passionately. The blue eyed girl widened her eyes as she saw her partner kissing her in her civilian form. She placed her hands on his chest and pushed him away.
"Chat Noir! What are you doing?!" She nearly yelled out as she stared in disbelief.
Chat's eyebrows furrowed into a frown as he stared at her in confusion.
"What do you mean? I'm kissing you. That's what girlfriends and boyfriends do when the person they love finally wakes up from an injury, isn't it?"
Marinette's eye widened even further and her jaw dropped.
"What the hell are you talking about-" she let out a gasp and held a hand on her mouth. "Is Alya okay?!"
Now Chat was even more confused. "What? She wasn't even with us when we fought the akuma..." He trailed off as he looked at Marinette in worry.
"Yes she was! That purple and green akuma at my school was going to attack her!"
Chat fell silent as he looked at her. Now it was his turn to stare at her in disbelief. Chat licked his lips before speaking.
"Marinette, that happened three months ago... You- you seriously can't remember anything after that?..."
When Marinette nodded, his face fell.
If that's true... Than that means she doesn't remember us... She doesn't remember the late nights filled with talking and laughing, our movie nights, our first kiss, the necklace I gave her... And so much more... It's all gone, her love for me... And that's not the only thing that's gone...
Right before his eyes, the red string appeared. He almost sighed in relief until he saw what happened next...
It snapped.
A bit short but this is just a filler sort of... Hope you enjoyed the first chapter of Severed Ties! This is gonna be fun to write.
Until next time, peace!
