Chapter 2
(Remember the PoV thing I talked about last chapter? Well, it's coming into play. You're welcome :3)
~~Time skip: One week. Current Class: Learning to be a Fairy (Yay... Not.)~~
"And as I have mentioned before, we have another new student coming in today." Professor Reed announced, as there was a knock on the door. "That's him now! Gray, tail!"
"It has a mind of its own." I reminded with heavy annoyance. The tail hid away under the torn tank top. Reed wouldn't let me wear my jacket because my wings were special, and didn't extend outside of clothing like other fairies. Plus, in the class we had to have our wings out. Reed glared at me.
I watched as the door opened. A male student walked in with Headmaster Darcy. He had a large smile on his face. The other kids, since this class was full of girls for some reason-stupid fairy matting- instantly fawned over him. My face fell with annoyance.
"Welcome, Zach!" Professor Reed announced excitedly.
"Thank you..." Zach smiled shyly. I quietly scoffed, my eyes rolled. Which, was easy because I was alone in a corner. Thanks teach, not. His eyes slowly fell on me and his smile grew. I tensed, slowly. My eyes flickered away. Hopefully my tail was hidden, or gone. I glanced back, yup it disappeared. His attention returned to Reed.
"Do you have your housing arrangements yet?" The teacher grinned widely.
"Well, they said that there was another god here, and I kind of wanted to room with them... But, I was told I can't? Because, well I don't know why." Zach explained, shrugging slightly. My eyes traced over him curiously, this scrony pip squeak was a god? Reed nodded.
"Who are your parents?" She asked curiously. Zach glanced at the ground.
"Does that really matter?" He mumbled, probably not wanting to be known for his parents, like I am. Reed nodded. He sighed softly, "well a fairy..." Zach mumbled, "obviously..." His wings slowly fanned out as they appeared, similar design to mine, but much much whiter. (Guys, he's not Gray's sibling, just saying. They are in no way related.) "And the god everyone refers to as, "God..." Zach mumbled. I tensed, I am so not sharing a room with this loser. So, so not agreeing to that.
"Wh-wow." Reed slowly nodded, "well, you're welcome in the fairy housing if you choose."
"Like that's fair." I muttered, glaring out the window. Zach's eyes flickered to me again. I glanced back and stared at him for a few seconds, until we both glanced away.
"Well, pick a seat." Reed smiled cheerfully. Zach nodded and wandered for a moment. He slowly walked over and sat besides... Me. Reed's mouth opened, hanging. Thee other girls glared over too. I turned my head away.
"I'm Zach." Zach whispered quietly. My head rested on my hand as I glanced over lazily.
"Gr-"
"Gray! Sit by me, now." Reed called, nervously.
"But?! I haven't done anything!" I growled back.
"What did I say?" Reed hissed, pointing at the desk besides hers.
"Fine." I muttered, standing.
"Zach, sit besides someone else, please." Reed said gently.
"So much freaking equality!" I hissed, storming over to the front. I heard many scoffs by the other students, except Zach, who was watching my out burst with surprise. I dropped my almost empty bag and took the seat, my wings forming away. The chair shifted under my weight as I leaned on it when I sat. Reed gasped in terror, I glared over. Then noticed my swaying tail, I sighed quietly and just let it play around. Zach let out a squeak, my eyes shifted to him. He had a nervous look on his face, but he also looked excited.
"You're the other god?!" He leaned forward on his desk.
"I wouldn't say-" I started sheepishly.
"Gray, office, now." Professor Reed hissed and pointed to the door.
"But I didn't-"
"Now." She had a lot more authority just then.
"Fuck it." I muttered, grabbing my bag and storming out. Muffled voices came from the passing classrooms as I stormed towards the office, trying my best to not brake anything. I pulled of my grey hoodie and raised the hood to cover most of my face. My mouth was quickly the only memorable thing, besides my tanned skin, showing. My hand sat in my shorts pockets, clawing at the fabric and my legs angrily. At least these shorts were baggy, so it wasn't really noticeable.
Foot steps hurried up behind me. I swear to all that is murderous, if that's-
"Hey, you're name's Gray, right?" -Zach! I scowled, and out of reflex I went to punch him. His hand flew up. guarding his face, a surprised expression written all over it. "Well, that's no way to greet a pal." He smiled sideways, my hand digging more towards his palm. His fist tightened, causing the slightest amount of pain.
"I didn't say we were friends." I growled, dropping my fist and turning, readying to run off. His hand grabbed my arm, that was still in my pocket.
"Well, I hoped we could be?" He offered, his voice growing lower as he spun me towards him. A small smirk sprawling across his lips. "Why does everyone think you're a boy?" His voice was now low and quiet, right next to my ear. I pulled my arm away.
" 'Cause." I muttered, balling my hands into fists.
"But it's so clear you're just a scared little girl..." He offered quietly. I shoved him back.
"I'm not scared!" I defended angrily.
"Do you want to be roommates? That would be so cool." His eyes shunned with hope, too bad I'd be distroying that within seconds.
"Becuae the offspring of mortal enimies should room, that's logical." I growled.
"So, that's a yes?" He asked, slightly bouncing where he stood. My mouth opened to reply again, when a hand rested on my shoulder.
"I think you two being roommates is a great idea." Headmaster Darcy's strong voice agreed. Zach's eyes filled with delight, I'm pretty sure he was going to explode. Aww, he didn't. Lammeee. "We have some paper work to fill, but I think you would make excellent roommates." He beamed. His voice went into a small growl and his fist tightened on my shoulder; "isn't that right, Mr. Gray?" I glanced at his hand and shoved it off.
"Fine, whatever," I muttered. Darcy gave me another angered look, probably for shoving his hand. I only chose to stare at the ground.
"Let's go, then!" Zach announced, grabbing my wrist and following after the headmaster.
This was goog to be a long schooling period...
