Chapter 1

~~Gray's PoV (which might be what the story is mostly based in, if I don't say it at the beginning of the chapter; it's probably Gray.)
"And... Now." I huffed, jumping down from a tree. My wings guided me, but my landing was nowhere near graceful. I had stepped and slipped on my red tail that choose when it appeared. I landed on my butt, blinking. "We'll have to work on that." I told myself, then stood again.
Today was the day. Today, I would finally get into that school one way or another. Whether they like it or not.
I stretched out my body and my wings tightly extended under my clothes. Just enough to carry me for a few seconds. I jumped up quickly, the wings fluttering and I reached the top of the fence. I looked down at the ground and dropped, easily landing on my feet. Pain courses up my leg, then quickly faded.

A large building sat in front of me, many doors with obvious twists and turns. It seems like it was quite unrealistic and shouldn't exist. But nothing about the people here is realistic, so there's that. I huffed quietly as I stepped forward, "well this isn't much of a greeting." I quietly complained, "where is-?" Something sharp poked my neck, causing me to stand in place; frozen.

"Who the hell are you?" A females voice croaked, she tried to make it deep, but, it was quite squeaky. "And how did you get here?"

"Well-" I started to turn, but the blade pressed harder on my neck.

"Don't turn around!" She hissed, "and who said you could speak?! Did I give you permission?!" Probably a Demigod. Those kids were so annoying and thought they were all mighty.

"Your instructions are quite confusing, I thought you wanted answers?" I replied, slowly putting my arms down from over my head.

"Fine, answer." She growled, pushing the blade closer. It scrunched my skin, causing my neck to lower backwards. She shoved it forwards again, growling again. Maybe a wolf?

"My name is Gray. I got here by walking." I replied, boredly. Her arms slowly fell and I turned. My hood covered most of my face, but I could still easily see hers.
She had very, very bright purple eyes that were full of seriousness. She had freckles all across her face, and long red locks of braided hair. Her skin was pretty white too, I'm not sure what she was.
I glanced behind her to see a large crowd had gathered and were watching. A few teachers lingered behind her curiously. None of them who I wanted, I wanted the headmaster. Right here, right now.

"The fuck kind of name is Gray?" A boy yelled, teasingly. My eyes turned towards his cocky grin.

"My name is based off of my eyes." I replied.

"But they're not grey...?" Someone called out. I looked at them.

"They're only grey when I need or want them to be." I explained, clearly bored.

"Why would they be grey...?" The same kid asked. I huffed.

"To stare into your soul and eat it?" I answered with a dead serious tone. People shifted awkwardly and looked nervous. "I'm only kidding, jeez." My eyes actually only greyed when the tail and horns were out, so I could read people's emotions and look more menacing. I didn't like it much, the emotions were always the same and were so overwhelming it wasn't even funny.

"Why are you here?" The girl in front of me questioned with narrowed eyes.

"You haven't told me your name." I commented, "that's pretty rude when you're in a conversation. I guess I can let it slid because you're pretty cute." I as actually just being nice, I didn't find her like relationship attractive, she was quite pretty in general. Her face redden in embarrassment.

"My name's Vallorey. I have a boy friend. Now, why are you here?!" She hissed. My eyes rolled at the boy friend mention, like I care people's relationship status. My hands stuck in my deep pockets and I gave her a blank expression.

"Same reason as you, sweetie. I want to learn about myself." I replied, annoyance laced through my voice. There were a few mortified gasps from the group behind her. Vallorey's eyes widened in terror. I glanced back at my swaying tail and sighed heavily, slumping my shoulders. "I'll get gong." I mumbled, glaring at the sandy dirt ground. This was the sixth time this has happened with schools in the passed three days. One of the teachers slowly nodded. I huffed and walked towards the fence, letting my wings out just enough to carry me. They were once again hidden under my clothes. I bent my knees and looked up, about to jump when there was a firm male voice;

"Wait." His voice was thick with authority. I glanced back, slowly standing at a regular position, my wings folding back to where they were no more for now. I gave him a questioning look.

"H-headmaster?!" The adult that had nodded stared at the man walking forwards. I smirked widely, perfect.

"Yes, Professor Reed?" The headmaster dude replied, only sending the teacher a glance as he walked up to me. I examined his facial features, yup, definitely a vamp. He had a scar across his cheek, his skin was bright and pale, his hair was the shade shades as Vallorey's. I glanced between the two. Probably related.

"D-dad?" Vallorey gasped, CALLED IT! The man glanced at her in surprise.

"Oh, hello Vallorey. How are you today?" He smiled cheerfully. I leaned on the fence. His attention quickly turned, "I wouldn't-!" A large electrical current shot through my body, causing me to wince in surprised pain and quickly jolt off the fence. A few kids snickered, earning my glare. "Are you... Okay?" The headmaster hesitated. I nodded. He sighed softly. "I'm Headmaster Darcy. And you are...?"

"Gray, offspring of 'the devil' as you people put it, and a fairy I've never met." I replied, tilting my head slowly. Headmaster Darcy slowly nodded.

"That would explain the tail... But a fairy?" His eyes narrowed suspiciously. I mentally groaned and removed my sweatshirt, then my actual shirt to reveal a slightly torn tank top that had a hole in the back faric where my wings should be. Most fairies wings were always show, but from what my father said my mother was actually the fairy ruler, so there's that. I let my wings conform, like they deserved after being crammed under my clothes. Everyone backed up slightly when they saw how black my wings were. They were the average size for fairies, but everyone was still scared of me. I sighed quietly and let the fan out. "O-oh..." Darcy slowly nodded. He looked at Professor Reed. "Fairy department?"

"N-no! We're not taking that thing in our department." Reed gasped out in terror. Darcy groaned and looked at another adult. "Professor Creed, Demigods?" Creed rapidly shook her head.

"He's not a Demigod!" That was her excuse. Did they just assume my gender? Triggered. No, just kidding, but really guys? Gender assumptions? Thanks fam, not. Darcy groaned again, and obviously went into thought. More kids had gathered, obviously not wanting me here. Sucks for them!

"We have an old 'house'...." Headmaster offered, with a worried look.

"That works." I agreed, nodding.

"Wonderful, follow me to the housing and then we have paper work to do..." He mumbled, turning. I walked behind him, he looked tense. The other students either scowled, looked horrified, glared, or exchanged glances and whispers.

This school should be fun...
