OT13 (SVT): Bittersweet Part 3
A regular Friday would see more grateful smiles than any other day of the workweek. Unfortunately, not contingent upon today because yet again, someone decided to pour black staining ink onto the white canvas. Each reactive cell in my jittery body was filled up to the dreading edge, full of ire and fury.
The animosity got reflected onto the manager of DIAMOND, who was in his usual attire of a fancy suit. Baekhyun opted for an anthracite color this time, pairing the ensemble with a ruby colored dress shirt that showed a meager amount of naked skin as he had opened the first two buttons.
His fluffy eyes displayed nothing else but strong disapproval, caused by the mix of the occurrences from last week and the request that came into our recent account. 'Andwae (No). Inguk hyung said that he would only allow you one time near our customers. And what did you do to make this michinsaekki (crazy asshole) thus impressed to make you serve him again?'
The frown on his forehead became even more undistinguished, Baekhyun turning his vision fully towards me where I was barely standing straight. My mouth opened to murmur an assertion which negated its value instantly. 'We do both go to the same university.'
While his fluffy eyes expanded larger and a distinct gasp was let out, I held my left hand high up to halt his impending chiding. 'Oppa, let me finish because there is more to the story. I might have puppy-loved the man in question for over two years until...'
I did not even have to finish my sentence because before Baekhyun could even react to my honest confession, a familiar female intruded our feverish talk.
Striding into my routine workplace with a fulgid red apple in her right hand, Jennie took a generous bite while the woman winked at my side. 'I could not agree with you more. Jeon Wonwoo is a fine man.'
Was.
My conflicted mind wanted to correct her with all power, but I could not bring myself to do it. To put it in simpler terms, I guess that I am just tired. Tired of giving in into someone else's games.
The pressure cooker in Baekhyun's head probably exploded, yelling his frustration out as he ruffled his styled-up hair messier. 'Jiral hajimara (Do not bullshit me)!'
Jennie looking dazzling as always leaned her well-portioned body on the stack of Guinness filled boxes, shrugging her shoulders to subtly convey her cavalier stance while the cat eyes positioned themselves on me. 'I am not lying. Although his detective friend is way better in bed. Actually, he is a beast!'
Her high-pitched laugh was the only sound surrounding us, immediately stopping as she sensed the tough air.
Tightly clenching fists were formed alongside my frame as the manager had diverted his lecturing conversation to the other lady in the backroom. 'Yah Jennie-yah, you only like that dirty cop because he makes your speeding tickets go away.'
Another audible sound of something being gnawed through resonated, Jennie whispering her pending demand through the mouthful of food. 'Choi Seungcheol still owes me one.'
Baekhyun was in no mood for jokes, walking back and forth in the middle of the narrow place. 'Chwe Vernon is an idiot too, and I am still confused why that studious lion-haired guy is friends with them. Nevertheless, if I knew you were going to assign that psycho group to her, I would have stopped you right there and then.'
The elegant woman chewed on the delicious piece of fruit, distinctly being annoyed at our manager as she tapped her nude colored heeled-clad feet onto the wooden floor. 'They were the only choice left and you know that oppa. Decent options do not exist here at DIAMOND.'
Jennie was absolutely right. It is however only in levels of authority to who we decide to listen and obey. That night, our club was put in a tight position and as a loyal employee I did what I thought was the best.
Baekhyun neared me in two steps, concern suiting his voice as this worriment made me look right at him. 'Dohee-yah, I am not letting you near that bastard again. Affection does not go away that easily and Jeon Wonwoo is more dangerous than you think.'
An irritating beast started nibbling on the one place I could not reach with my bare hands. Menace is what I had directly perceived of the enigmatic man. Only more confirmation of this observation came to show, Baekhyun stating that someone appeared frightening is a one-time wonder.
The glint of scariness in his fluffy eyes was noticeable, Jennie nearing me while she voluntarily took the job of a woman's advocate as she settled me in a side hug. 'And our makdoongie (youngest) is even stronger. Although I must agree with oppa on one thing. Our boss is not fond of pleasant surprises, especially one that involves his favorite person.'
A moment of silence broke the lingering atmosphere, Baekhyun letting himself down on the wooden sitting area while the intimate groan showed in bright light. 'What are you even saying Jennie? She is not going in there. I cannot let you go through this all alone Dohee-yah. Not again...'
The bitter undertone that the manager's last sentence presented carried a much more profound meaning, knowing deep down at what Baekhyun was explicitly mentioning. At that time, I was trapped in the darkest pit on planet earth. I had truly no hope left but then the first helping hand grabbed mine without asking anything in return.
Main point is that two of my most precious people were arguing with each other what should have been a sole inner fight with myself.
Gulping my nervousness down my dry throat, I clenched my anchor tightly as I gathered my courage together. 'I am.'
The manager's head shook in disbelieve, Baekhyun's fluffy eyes making their way to my dark brown orbs as he gritted through his teeth. 'Mworago (What)?'
My feelings were scattered in different departments, yet I knew that Jeon Wonwoo should see a reflection of me that would not show any susceptibility.
The seriousness that I gave withered for no second, speaking to both with all my honesty. 'Oppa and unnie, I cannot let someone take advantage of me like that anymore. Obviously, there is a risk. Jeon Wonwoo needs a check of reality, even if it will bring me to the edge with Inguk.'
Jennie got one of her best dresses out of the closet for me.
A black bow-detailed white long-sleeved bouclé minidress paired with black leather lacquered pumps engulfed around me. She gave me decent dark bloomy laced panty to cover up my exposed legs, knowing that my conservative side would not show any bare skin if unnecessary.
My long black hair was left in the lowest ponytail, face framing bangs on each side which I personally preferred.
Emerging like an endless dejavu, my fists clenched in front of the mundane ruby door as I made up my mind to step inside the subdued lighted place.
Same atmosphere, same kind of club music banging through the walls, but something was missing. Better said is that the amount of people in the room seemed less than before.
Hunkering lazily in his whole dark demeanor made me completely mystified. A white dress shirt with the sleeves half-up sticked onto his perfectly shaped body. As if the black hair and glasses selected his prevailing personality, the strands were styled up and the specs were again vanished.
Quivering a shaky sigh under my breath, I calmly strolled towards the exact spot where I stood one week ago.
The dry throat that was part of my neck cleared itself, making sure that I got the attention of the man who seemed to be ignorant of the fact that someone else was in the room with him. 'Good evening Sir, can I get your order?'
He ceased his right arm from moving upwards, the presumable alcoholic drink that was previously poured in by seemingly himself hold a mid-air pause as the foxlike eyes climbed slowly right up.
And there it was again.
The terrible silent war of emotions, moving on tremulous waves of blue chimes. I saw a meager amount of competitiveness, not wanting to get defeated while the unavoidable waterlines appeared on my bottom eyelids.
Wonwoo caught the oblique hint, chuckling strangely kind while he clicked his head to the right side. 'Hey there! Good to see you again. It is always fun to see what some new company can do, but I miss my little gem named Jennie Kim.'
The earlier revelation from the elegant lady got me unintentionally imagining what their relationship must have been like, shuddering myself out of the crude thoughts.
My body performed a 90-degree bow, politely wishing to move away from his eyesight. 'Sir, can I take your order, or should I leave you alone for the time being?'
Standing with my spine back straight up, the spiritous drink entered his mouth in one swift while his foxlike eyes made me moved slightly uncomfortable.
The supercilious smile that once melted me into a sloppy ice cream showed in the various twinkles of the private room, gesturing to the side couches while he elaborated his intentions. 'Can I ask you for a favor instead? I have no one to talk to today and I would like your opinion about something. You know what they say, a stranger's perspective could be more effective than that of someone who is close to you.'
Why did he sound so differently from last week?
My eyebrows jaunted in between a frown and the original position, stepping a scantly closer only to stop a couple of feet away from him which was luckily the black lacquered table. My professionality stopped me from sitting down.
Of course, I felt his stern gaze on me, following every inch of movement like a strong magnet.
Wonwoo grunted rather mockingly, placing his empty glass down while he juggled with the peanut snack in front of him. 'My family's syndicate has been going steady for over a decade now. Yet if someone decided to throw the spanner in the works, I would not be pleased at all. There is one thing that is worse than dealing in my book, and that is called lying.'
To tell you the truth, I was surely not fond about the sour tone in his deep voice. A tick in my chest shot exactly the wrong way, my dark brown eyes scooted immediately to the foxlike ones which showed nothing but malevolence.
Was I dumb enough for ignoring the obvious personal attack? No, and that is why I wanted to show my strong side.
I folded my arms, scoffing what I thought was right and skeptical at the same time. 'And yet you lie and deal for a living.'
A reptilian chuckle left his lips, smugly smirking back at my genuine opinion as Wonwoo leaned back on the couch. His arms were stretched wide open, clearly inviting me up for the continuous challenge while he manspreaded. 'What can I say? I am a walking contradiction.'
I would have definitely laughed if it were not for him to say that jesting line.
Tilting my head slightly to the left, I shrugged my shoulders that were heavied by thousand of kilos by now. 'I could not have said it any better. However, I did want to ask you this though. Why did you request me to be your waitress today? Do you know me somehow personally? I do not think that we had met before last week.'
Wonwoo appeared amused and obtuse, his foxlike eyes scanning my body from head to toe, meeting my dark brown eyes at the end while he ignored my important question. 'Feisty...I like it. The jaunting synonym of dishonesty, which is exactly what you are.'
A put-upon sigh left my mouth voluntarily, lowering my voice but still making sure that he heard me clearly. 'Maybe you got some instant amnesia or that side chick of yours had erased some parts of your memory with her spit, but I cannot reckon that I have done something wrong to you. I was just doing my job.'
The diabolical laugh caught me a bit off guard, clapping his hands together as if I had said something that would deserve an applaud. 'Oh, I like you already. Who told you that the lady was not my girlfriend?'
I rolled my dark brown eyes deliberately, letting a subtle smile play upon my face. 'Your attitude, Sir.'
Wonwoo squinted his foxlike eyes, letting his tongue sweep on his bottom lip before he talked volatility further. 'I think I am in love! Despite that, let me clear those forgotten deeds of yours. Have you ever heard of the student council facility at Haeyang?'
Limbs were unfolded at once, my lips parted in a flustering matter. Standing up from the luxury couch, the enigmatic man gradually strode in my particular direction as that made me unconsciously step back in centimeters.
His foxlike eyes turned seemingly even darker in color, my heart was not controlling itself anymore as it could have exploded upon his empathized words. 'Our classmate Kwon Soonyoung is the President and somehow your name rang a bell when he mentioned you. Jihoon was indeed not lying, was he? Do Dohee...I adore the rhythm in your name already.'
Both my first and last name were intentionally offered as bait.
The flow that he continued with his long legs and mine were slow dancing, each sentence was a shorter distance towards the ruby wall. 'There are a lot of vicious rumors going around campus. You see, people are not blind. They have seen me near these sorts of nightclubs and bars with bad reputations which means that these same humans have also met my other persona. And for the world they would not care.'
My dark brown eyes concluded to the space behind my back, ratifying that I was trapped in his mystic sheath. The back of my spine was about a meter away from my own downfall.
Not being able to shut his arrogance out, Wonwoo followed my trail in a meagerly faster pace after hearing my despiteful sentences. 'So what? Should I congratulate you for building up your fame?'
One small scope of hopeless hope was left over, and I would be trapped, considering that he would probably tower over my head despite the length of my high heels.
His immensely mischievous grin irked the hell out of me, finally catching me in his steel cage. 'Oh my, oh my, the pathetic woman hit the roof. No, you should think about what will come for you if I happen to build yours.'
My fragile back hit the stone-cold surface, clenching my fists to a painful extent.
As my dark brown eyes inquired in unequivocal confusion, Wonwoo placed his left hand nearly beside my head while he leaned in closer after every spoken word. 'The innocent girl in the back of the lecture hall turned out to be a part-time whore for DIAMOND, which is the criminal underground and hiding place for notorious gangs. College goers love to hear a story like that.'
The light on this side of the private room was mostly dimmed, however his spotless face still looked utterly flawless. Do Dohee, get your act straight together.
I merely lifted my lips from one another, neglecting the fact that the enigmatic man was about three inches away from my face. 'Kkeo-jyeo (Get lost).'
A perfect string was finally tugged, yet it was in goodness favor for the other side. His right hand brought itself to a specific place on his chest, meeting my fire spewing look in one go. 'Gamdong badasseo (I am touched).'
Smelling a mix of pure mint and intoxicating alcohol, the strong cologne was enchanting while it poisoned my dignity. 'I will give you an option. Serve me tonight, as in the real service that Jennie Kim always delivers with pleasure. I can demonstrate it to you now.'
This moment felt like hours, his flawless face breaking the forbidden barrier. Wonwoo's right hand left his previous resting place, sliding along my underarm bit by bit as it's touch tingled each invisible hair on my skin despite the covering fabric.
It broke my thoughts and that sparsely place in my most vital organ again. I loathed him for speaking ill words about my precious older sister. As if she had a choice.
Unwittingly making my mouth tremble, his progress did not freeze for a little moment. 'Shireo (No.).'
I swore I could see Wonwoo smiling coyly at my emotionally drained state, moving away from my sight as his soft lips began tracing above the surface of my neck. 'Do not play with fire Do Dohee.'
Naturally, I put both of my unclenched hands to provide a lifesaving mask, his strength however overpowered me. Wonwoo strangely decided not to mark his stolen territory, just sniffling around as if was checking on how I would react to him.
My body was heating up involuntarily, only my last ace in the hole showed in quivering letters. 'I have seen worse Jeon Wonwoo.'
Backing up in one fleeting move, the glint in my dark brown eyes had probably scared the fright out of him. I was not lying at all, his initial description of my oneself was the exact opposite. My brain began aching in various places, those demonic eyes were in close proximity of me again as I tried to push it away.
A pair of two fingers touch the middle of my cheek, surprisingly easing my woken up mind which I despised the most. Baekhyun was right, delusional affection is hard to get rid off.
Wonwoo caressed my cheek while avoiding my sight, showing astonishing care regardless of his hummed sentences. 'You are not wearing that tonight. You should obey me peach.'
Not sure what he meant by that. Although, this did not change the fact that I still detested the ridiculous nickname.
Trying to meet his dark orbs for a moment to elaborate, he stared down to our feet which astonished me. 'Do not call me that jerk.'
My nerves got me shivering in chagrin, his foxlike eyes meeting mine again in close distance as Wonwoo did not move his view away. 'I can call you whatever the hell I want. Peach, I can make you mine in one swift.'
Was this emotion that I felt anxiousness?
There are too many questions that I would like to ask myself, his breath hitting me even more hither. Nothing of those undisclosed scenarios that I made up in my head could compare to what I was experiencing now.
Wonwoo exceeded all, in the exact wrong direction. His next motions were running away from limits.
Trailing his right hand down my clothed arm, Wonwoo draw a full circle on my waist until he reached my upper thigh. The thumb and index finger are what he used to teasingly pluck the material of my panty, making me grab his right hand from trying to do more.
The strength was too overbearing, tugging his hand out of my hold while it climbed upwards again. 'I will make you scream.'
The competitiveness struck on the highest point possible, exhaling my frustration over my shaking lips as the long fingers encircled my throat. 'Make me.'
'Jeon Wonwoo, what do you think you are doing?!'

Sorry,
I was honestly a bit too busy with other stuff (who am I even kidding, graduating from uni is no joke!) And also, sorry but not sorry for the cliffhanger hehe.
I made a couple of changes in my initial storyline...I am way tooooooooooo excited to show you guys the depth of the story!
Btw, the cursive words are (as you might have noticed) new characters, nicknames that have a deeper meaning and clues for the continuation of the story. Any guesses who that "demon" could be?
I know I say this a lot but thank you so much for all the love and comments <3
Happy birthday to the 218 Bros!!!!
Love,
