#30 "Too Late For Everything(?)" part 2
Since I became a married woman, today is the first time that I woke up with my husband beside me. But unfortunately, we're not naked.
"So nothing happened between us," I murmured before I sat up. My eyes diverted back to my husband's angelic face. I have seen his expressions: mad, irritated, annoyed and dumbfounded. But my favorite expression of his is this - the calm Joshua. "I wonder what he looks like when we're doing it." Bothered by these dirty thoughts, I shook my dizzy head.
Last night, I had a drink with that tall and handsome bartender named Junhui.
[Well, actually, there's a girl I'm so interested. She'll divorce her husband after five months. So I have to wait]
After his voice has flashback in my memories, I was sure that I lost my consciousness because of his absurdness. I must had drink my beer in one shot last night after I heard his crazy confession. It wasn't the beer that knocked me out though. The tequila I drank before that must be the real culprit. Anyway, how did I arrive here?
"The troublemaker is finally awake, I see," Joshua's voice pulled me to look back at him. He was sitting up with a groan, as if his body was too heavy.
"Nothing happened between us, right?" Was the first question that I flung.
His brows knitted and I knew he's pissed for obvious reason. Right... My husband will only sleep with the woman he loves.
"NOTHING!" he shouted. "Would you stop asking that?"
"Like...seducing you?" Then I put my hands at the tip of my polo shirt. I was about to lift it up but Joshua held my wrist to stop me.
Teasing him became fun.
"Damn it, (Y/n)" he cursed, sweeping his face a little roughly.
Now that I decided to act matured(?), I asked a serious question. "Why did I end up on your bed?"
Joshua and I decided to sleep in different quarters before we got married. So this scene surprised me a lot, though I succeeded on putting my nonchalant face.
"Hey, you..." His response that sounds so incomplete. "...stay away from him. That guy is a jerk."
I have no idea at first. But my genius brain told me that he was maybe talking about the bartender, Junhui.
"Did that guy bring me here?" I inquired.
Joshua gave me a dubious sigh as he looked away. "I didn't know how did you meet that freak but I'm warning you, (Y/n). He's a jerk."
They know each other. How?
"Is he..." I let out a long wonder then continued while narrowing my eyes, "...your ex-boyfriend?"
My husband's eyes widened. If he was in animation, his eyes could probably popped out like that spring clown inside the magic box.
"Hey!" He gave me an ear-piercing shout. "Can we at least have a normal talk?! You're spitting nonsense! I'm straight! I like girls! What's the hell wrong with your head?!"
Well, everything in this world is possible.
Scratching my ear, I jumped down from his bed. "I'll prepare for my work," I uttered.
"For the last time, stay away from him," he repeated that stopped my feet.
Barely turning around, I smiled at my husband. "I will. If you give me a baby."
I thought he'll throw a pillow to my face just like before. However, Joshua wore an expression that I couldn't read. He was looking straight to me with rigid stare and pursed lips.
I, who never apologized for saying those seductive words to my husband, have bowed my head and said, "Sorry." Then I walked out from his room.
Of course, I never thought on cheating at him while we're still a married couple. But I don't mind if Joshua welcomes his other girl on his arms or hugs her in front of me. Thus, his recent words and actions have made me confused a little bit. We both don't have feelings for each other so he should treat me the same.
"He's not jealous. There's no way he will," I uttered.
Walking with crossed arms, I was trying my best to reminisce my journey to home last night. If that bartender brought me here because I was so drank, there's no way we had a s*x. If we did, I would probably wake up in a hotel, not on my husband's bed. Also, even if Junhui confessed his feelings, he said that courting a married woman is too immoral. Right. He's a good guy(?) after all.
"Ding dong~" someone pressed the doorbell. I walked towards the door and saw her again through the security screen.
Should I call my husband and tell him that Bea, the girl he loves, has come to visit?
'No. Let's have fun for a moment, (Y/n)' with this evil thought, I unbuttoned the top three buttons of my white polo shirt before I opened the door.
Subsided smile and rounded eyes, I could see her disappointments over seeing me instead of my husband.
"My husband is still on his bed," I reported.
Bea diverted her eyes at my seductive shirt then back to my smiling face. "Oh, I see. I made a sandwich for him. Can you please give this to him instead?" She asked while smiling so wide.
Sly fox. She didn't get jealous at all! If this woman doesn't have any feelings for Joshua, she should stop going back and forth to the guy she really loves then to my husband who was so deeply in love with her!
This love triangle of them annoyed me so much. Should I not wait for five months and divorce Joshua right away?
"Bea!" Speaking off, Joshua came with loud greeting. "Why are you here?"
He stood beside me while looking at his one and only weakness, Bea. I could hear the special drumroll effects inside my head, like "tan ta na nan!"
"Ohh, hi Joshua. How's your sleep? I made a sandwich for you. I remembered how you love my sandwich when we were in college."
"H-Hey, you didn't have to," Joshua said in worried and gentle tone. He was always shouting at me.
Rolling my eyes, I decided to walk away. I don't want to hear more cheesy stuffs from these idiots.
"Knock knock, " a familiar voice halted my feet. Looking back to the entrance, Junhui was standing beside Bea.
What is he doing here?!
I opened my lips but my first word was cut by Bea's surprised response. "J-Jun. Why are you here? How did you know that I'm here?"
My mind went blank for a second. Bea knows Junhui. And Junhui...
"I didn't know that you're here though," Junhui replied.
Yup. Junhui knows her too.
"Didn't I warn you enough? Junhui, get lost," Joshua said to him.
The three knew each other.
Thinking back about the girl who slapped Junhui last night, who turned out to be his ex-step sister, she resembled Bea's voice.
"I came here to return something," Junhui said before he looked at me, and down to my polo shirt. His face crumpled and he cocked at Joshua after licking the corner of his lips. "Dude. I didn't know that you allowed Bea to visit your home while your wife is present. I really wanted to punch you right away," contrary of his words, Junhui let out a chuckle.
"Wait," Bea butted. "Jun, I can explain. Joshua and I aren't in that kind of relationship. I just came to visit him as a friend."
"Bea, I don't need your explanation," Junhui spoke with a giggle. "Just like what I've said, I came with another purpose." He stared at me then showed my cellphone by his right hand. "Here ma'am. You forgot your phone."
Jealousy was written on Bea's face towards mine.
It's clear. I'm well sobered.
Joshua loves Bea. But Bea loves his step brother, Junhui. This is my husband's messy love triangle indeed.
I thought I wasn't on the picture. But now, it seems like I was on their way since the very beginning. Joshua loves Bea, Bea loves Junhui, Junhui likes me, but I, who don't like anyone, has married Joshua.
If only I know this would happen, I shouldn't marry my husband. But now...it's too late.
"Give me that," Joshua murmured before he snatched away my phone from Junhui's hand. It was too fast but I saw it. I really saw it.
My husband is wearing his wedding ring today.
