#156"Screen"
My name is Jun, 24 years old. One morning, I woke up and found out that no one in the world recognizes me; my best friend, my family nor my girlfriend.
"What's wrong with you Minghao! It's me! Junhui! Your best friend!"
No matter how I stated my well-being, I was always got denied.
"I don't have a best friend named Junhui," Minghao replied. "Can you just please get out of my sight?" He shoved me away and I was left quite puzzled.
'How could this ridiculous thing happen? Am I the male-lead of their prank? If I am, it still doesn't make any sense!'
"It's me your brother! Sis, can't you recognize your own brother? If this is some kind of prank, I'll be really disappointed!" I complained to my one and only sister.
"Who are you really? You creeped me out," my sister responded.
I faced my little brother, dad, mom and our neighbors. But their responses were all the same. THEY DON'T KNOW ME.
Knowing that I will soon (y/n), my girlfriend, there's a bit of hope inside my head. Even though the world turned its back on me, it'll be impossible for my own girlfriend to forget the man she loves. Right?
"J-Junhui?" (y/n) repeated my name when I confronted her. She is looking with enigmatic stare.
'She called me by my name! I knew it! She remembers m-'
"I'm sorry mister. But I don't have a boyfriend." She bowed her head before jolting forward as if she has met a weird stranger.
I am a very positive guy. I know I am. But to live in a place where those people I love couldn't remember me is like a knife on my chest. It rips my heart apart. In the verge of crying, I thought of an idea. 'What if I'll tell them my most unforgettable memories with them?!'
For example, I'll remind Minghao about...
Or I'll tell to my sister the time we were...
Or to my dad I...
Or to my girlfriend I will...
I couldn't think of anything special. What did I contribute to their lives? All this times, I focused myself on my own. My life was nothing but a plain white. I played online games, I always checked my social media accounts, I chatted those guys whom I never met in person. My cellphone was my world. Now that I am looking at this phone on my hand, my tears fell down. I realized that I made a memory with a non-living thing. This cellphone won't hug me, won't hold me and won't love me.
Upon realizing my mistake, everything around me turned black. I am standing in a pitch of darkness and that my own breathing echoed around.
'That's right. It's a dream. This is just a dream! If that's the case, then I need to wake up.'
"Junhui! You should wake up! Hurry and wake up!" I shouted to myself and slapped my cheeks multiple times. My breathing gets narrow. I can't move on my own. As much as I wanted to escape from this fantasy, my body won't respond. "Please! I need to wake up! Please!"
The reason I wanted to? It's simple. Because I still wanted to live in a place where I can still stay on their sides: my friend, my family, my love.
When I opened my eyes, the first person I saw is my girlfriend. "Junhui, are you okay? You were sweating a lot. Did you have a nightmare?" (y/n) asked.
I picked my breath as I sat up and cornered her between my arms.
"H-Hey," she chuckled as she hugged me back.
"You remembered me," I whispered then tightened my grip.
"Of course I do," she laughed. "I won't forget my boyfriend, even though you ignored me sometimes." She picked up my phone from the side. "Anyway, I heard tons of notifications from your phone."
"I won't check it."
Even though it was only a dream, I learned something. I know it won't happen in real life. But if that 0.001% will come true, then I'll make sure to create memories which wouldn't be forgotten. And to do that, I need to treasure every moments I have with these people around me. Cause life is much fun when you enjoyed your days with persons off screen.
The end...
