#137 "I don't like you anymore" (part 2)
Junhui didn’t forget to put his deodorant today. Actually, he doesn’t really need to have one because no matter how he sweats, Junhui won’t smell bad. But the trauma he had after the incident yesterday hits him really hard.
“Good morning Jun,” pretty girls at the campus greeted him as he walks.
He then gave a glance for two seconds and ignored them. Junhui maybe popular because of his good looks and achievements, but he sucks on socializing; especially with girls. He walks away while carrying his books on his left arm, and carried his bag with his right hand.
Junhui walking at the school is always like this: him wearing a simple shirt, ripped jeans, styled hair and silver watch. The sun is dazzling on his sculpture like face, everyone is blinded by it. He is like an ambulance crossing the traffic road. People automatically move back so he could pass by. If there’s a red carpet then it could be his perfect runway.
“OMG, Junhui looks so hot today” Your friend tapped your shoulder as she pointed him from afar. You who is wearing ¾ polo sleeves, black corduroy, white Adidas sneakers, yellow watch and a sling bag, turned around to see him.
He is indeed hot. How could you deny it when he was your 3 years crush? But unlike before, you aren’t swoon by his looks anymore.
“Is h-he l-looking at m-me?” your friend stammering her words in bewilderment. It’s 25% true. Junhui really stopped his pace and threw stare, not to your friend, but to the girl standing at her side. Yup. He is looking at you!
If it is the old you, maybe you’ll already jump in joy.
“He is walking t-towards us. Omg Omg Omg,” your friend keeps on gasping as you both watch him walks closer.
Everyone knew that this guy won’t approach a girl except if you are his thesis partner, his teacher, his sister, his grandmother, his mother or his girlfriend. That was the reason why your friend is freaking out over his actions.
“Hey you,” Jun called you, gnashing his jaw.
Your friend looked at you, to Jun, to you again, and to him. ‘What the hell? Why is he talking to her?!’ the voice on your friend’s head.
“We need to talk. This is about the…” Junhui is too mad that he needs to pause a moment. “About the incident yesterday.” A sigh escaped from his heart-shape trembling lips.
“Ahhh, are you here to thank me?” you responded with a smile.
Thank you!? Thank you?! You embarrassed him inside the bus saying that he didn’t put a deodorant and you’ll expect him to thank you?!
His mouth wide opened. He just couldn’t understand how your brain works.
“Well…” you hesitated because of his reaction. “It’s a friendly advice so I thought, you’ll gonna thank me.” It feels like there’s a lump on your throat that you couldn’t even gulp.
Junhui bit his lower lip. If only you’re not a girl he will probably beat you to death.
“Yow yow yow yow!” another man appeared. He is Junhui’s friend, Hoshi. Like Jun, this guy is quite famous too; all because of his cute appearance, friendly attitude and his freaking great dancing skill. His eyes are small and slanted. His nose is as tiny as girl’s yet it is pointed. His lips are so damn soft~ He isn’t as tall as Junhui but he has that same aura of stealing everyone’s glance.
“Oh my gosh! My Junhui is talking to a girl?! Did the sun rise from the West?” Hoshi tried to look at the sun but it is too bright so covered his eyes. “Ahhh~ That’s too bright. Just like me.” He even made a handsome pose of putting his fingers on his chin; thumb on his cheek, index finger below his chin. “Anyway highway, what is happening to you Jun? Yieeeeeeeee.”
Junhui rolled his eyes. “We’re not done.” He pointed you and walked out.
“Hey! My dear Jun! Wait for me!” Hoshi followed him.
Jun is mad. You aren’t fool… well sometimes you’re an idiot, especially yesterday, but… you realized that he’s mad.
“What happened (y/n)? Junhui talked to you. It was like… hell yeah! A one in a million chance,” your friend wobbles your shoulder.
Without words, you gulped.
On the other side, Hoshi is pestering Junhui to explain about the thing he witnessed a moment ago.
“Come on dude. Who am I? I am your best friend. B-E-S-T-F-R-I-E-D,” Hoshi said while following him.
Junhui stopped. He just couldn’t stand this cute fool. “What fried? Are you a chicken? It’s B-E-S-T-F-R-I-E-N-D,” he corrected.
“Oh? Did I spell it wrong? It’s okay. I love fried chicken. And FYI,” he pointed him, narrowing his eyes. “I’m a tiger. Not a chicken.”
Junhui shook his head and made a hand gesture of circular motion with his index finger at the side of his head as if he’s saying that his friend has a loose screw.
“I’m late to my class,” Junhui said and about to leave. But Hoshi held his wrist.
“Hey. I can’t focus on my class if you won’t explain it,” Hoshi pouted.
“Are you my girlfriend?”
“Boyfriend.”
“Sh*t.”
Hoshi chuckled and sways his hand, left to right, right to left. “Eyyyyyyyyyy come on. Tell me. Why are you talking to a girl?”
“This is all because of you,” Jun sighed.
“Why me?” he frowned.
It’s true. Hoshi is partly at fault- or should we say, partly the cause of it. Hoshi kept on complaining about his dandruffs. Jun told this to his mom and his mom recommended that aloe vera is good for Hoshi. His mom has aloe vera plants on their garden. So before going to school, he extracted an unscented aloe vera gel on a bottle and gave it to Hoshi. But the aloe vera spilled on his bag. When he hopped inside the crowded bus, you smelled it. And you thought that the smell is coming from his armpit. That’s how the aloe vera ruined your three years one sided crush. Everyone in the bus laughed at him, and some of them are students in your school too.
Junhui doesn’t really care if people spread rumors about him but… rumor about his underarm’s odor? That’s not funny. Really not funny.
“Ah I don’t know!” Junhui yanked Hoshi’s hand. “I’m really late. Bye.” Then ran away.
“Is my Junhui starting to fall in love?” Hoshi murmured while watching his back. “That’s a good thing.” He smiled, not the usual smile. There’s a warm on it, showing how happy he is if his guess is right.
The clock hits at 12pm.
After having your lunch at the cafeteria, you walked at the hallway while tapping your tummy. “Wow. I ate a lot.” You burped. A hand suddenly pulled you. “Ohhhh~” When you looked behind, you saw Junhui.
“It’s not me. It is because of aloe vera,” Junhui said, eyes are serious.
‘Why is he suddenly talking about a plant?’ you asked inside your mind.
“I am really mad,” he added, still holding your hand.
“W-Why? Because I said that in public or because I told you that you are not my crush anymore?” you asked.
Your face is so thick, isn’t it?
“I don’t f*cking care if you like me or not,” Junhui declared. Those words slapped your face. But it’s not heart breaking to hear it. Crush is crush. Love is love. There’s a big different between those.
“T-Then,” you pulled your hand from his grip. “I am s-sorry,” you apologized as you bowed your head. When you peek at his face, he seems to calm down. “But advising you to put deodorant is not a bad thing,” you added.
He was finally okay after you apologized but your last sentence put him again on the edge.
“I TOLD YOU IT’S NOT ME! I HAVE ALOE VERA INSIDE MY BAG!”
Students around shoot stares at the two of you.
“H-Hey. Lower your voice. They’ll think that we’re fighting.”
“Argh.” Junhui brushes his face with his palms. “This is so annoying,” he whispered. He holds your hand again and pulled you somewhere.
“Where are we…” you couldn’t finish your sentence and followed him instead.
He brought you inside the radio club empty studio.
“Listen,” he first took a deep breath. “I don’t smell bad,” he explained very slowly. “Yesterday, I didn’t put deodorant. But what you had smell is not me.”
You blinked your eyes while listening in silence.
“My underarm is as clean as my future,” he cleared. “Yesterday, I brought an unscented aloe vera inside my bag. It has an odor that smell like what you were thinking.”
Now… you get it.
“Ahhhhh,” you gasped. “Oh my gosh!” you covered your mouth while blushing so hard.
“Understand?” he checked.
You nodded your head. “Omg Omg. I am so so sorry.” It is to embarrassing that you couldn’t look into his eyes.
“If there’s a rumor about me, you should take responsibility,” he threatened.
“Y-Yeah,” you answered in low tone.
“Good.” He fixed his bangs before going out the studio.
At the first place, there won’t be a rumor about this. You didn’t have the intention of telling the incident to anyone. Plus, that student who was on the same bus won’t spread what he heard. However…
“Who was that?” Everyone stared at the speakers inside their rooms.
All of the students in your school heard your conversation with Junhui inside the studio! The microphone inside the studio is on air!
Of course they didn’t know who’s the owner of those voices but…
“PUHWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!” Hoshi laughed inside his room. The only one who knows that person who brought an aloe vera gel is none other than Hoshi.
