Personality

Bernadette is an immensely friendly but cold individual who grudgingly upholds her duty as an Incarnation. She remains emotionally isolated from others, likely due to the process which gave her her current form. It's strange... due to her "condition," Bernadette lives in a sort of limbo state where her emotions are either incredibly dulled/nonexistent or completely overpowering/intense. Due to this, she is often very patient, as time doesn't really leave much of an impact on her motivations anymore. She's incredibly intelligent, as she uses her time dedicated to focusing on a variety of studies. She does display a level of playfulness and mischeviousness around those she knows well, but at times there is also a sort of bitter sadness in her gaze. She feels like she is incomplete, that there are pieces of her missing, which she tries to ignore but when she can't, it drives her crazy, sending her into something akin to a panic attack. She patiently awaits her end, as she feels like only once she is dead and buried will she be able to feel whole once again. However, that doesn't mean she'll make it easy for her opponent to kill her, oh no; they best be prepared for a fight to the death, where either one of them risks losing their lives

She is absolutely merciless when it comes to evil and dishonorable people, her anger is fierce and frightening as she carries out these acts while maintaining her calm and level-headed composure which gives her a sinister aura whenever she faces off against such characters. She visibly shows a strong disdain and hate towards malevolent people, especially those who tend to manipulates others for their own selfish gains. She also hates when people falsely use "justice" to carry out hypocritical unjustified acts themselves (she doesn't believe in vengeance being a worthy goal or excuse for one's actions). She is capable of some restraint in these interactions, but she makes her distaste in such opponents abundantly clear, as she never sugarcoats things for people she likes; of course she will be cruel and to the point when interacting with those she despises. She will allow her opponents the opportunity to surrender twice: once before they fight, and twice when she is about to inflict the finishing blow

Weapons
She carries the battle hammer she used when she was still alive, using the momentum of the weapon to crush her opponents. She can also choose to use its magical properties to phase through one's physical body and knock out the demon or ghost that was possessing them

Background
Bernadette was born and raised in a family of exorcists and monster hunters, so she grew up knowing quite a lot about the supernatural world. She ended up going to college for a botany and environmental studies major, which is where she ended up meeting her husband, who was a mage that had no idea what he was. The two would end up bonding as Bernadette taught him how to control his powers and him returning the favor by joining in her family's work. They would end up getting married soon after the two graduated college (Bernadette at age 22 and her husband 25). The two would go traveling, exercising ghosts and demons and protecting the innocent from monsters... up until the moment where Bernadette was killed in the middle of a battle. Her husband was able to take care of the monster they were fighting and turned to look for her only to find her... dead.

Her husband was unwilling to lose her, so he used a forbidden ritual to bind her spirit to the doll she now inhabits. Bernadette ends up remaining as the Incarnation of Patience due to this act somehow, eternally to remain and demonstrate her Virtue until the end of time due to how enchantedly durable her new body was. Also, because of her partner's actions in forcing her spirit to remain on earth, she has cut him out of her life, as she feels like he should have just let her die than force her to live a life full of dull emotions... and the ever-present cold that makes her feel numb and incomplete, a fraction of who she once was. She rarely travels, preferring to stay in Havenport at Michelle's B&B in the attic, there to assist the other Incarnation in whatever she needs as being with her has helped Bernadette feel less alone, even more at peace due to the dryad's sweet nature.

Disabilities/Addictions
She's a doll... can't really have any addictions when you have no need or urge to consume anything. Due to her new body, technically she has dwarfism as she stands at 4 feet tall

Strengths
Bernadette has a wealth of knowledge and experience due to the life she's lived. She has surpassed needs such as food, water, and sleep and essentially has unlimited energy and stamina to keep going for days on end

Weaknesses
Whenever she moves, sometimes her joints creak or squeak, which can give her away. She is also smol, which can be a benefit or disadvantage depending on the situation

Family
Her parents are alive, however they are under the assumption that Bernadette is dead since they buried her original body. She was an only child. She and her husband had no children, as she refers to her husband as her ex as since she died, technically they're not married anymore... and while she does sometimes miss him, she quickly buries those feelings because of what he's done to her.

Other
Bernadette loves plants and is well versed in the language/meaning of flowers

She also part-times as a librarian, mainly in the back doing cataloging and updating search systems, typically at night for obvious reasons

She also enjoys going to old abandoned buildings or ruins, finding comfort there as it makes her feel like she's not alone in being incomplete, a shadow of herself

Theme Song
Bernadette- IAMX

You're an Incarnation of Sin, sent out by a mysterious organization to find and detain the Incarnation of Patience... the only problem being that you couldn't sense them at all. As your sin was Wrath, Patience's opposite, it should have been easy to track them down since the two of you would naturally seek the other out, however it seemed that there was some divine power making it impossible for the two of you to meet. You did wonder about who it might be and if you'd be able to recognize them on sight or if it was just a proximity thing... but you figured you'd probably find out once you got close enough to them.
You decided to seek out places that had a lot of divine energy around them, figuring that if their powers was making it hard to find them specifically, you could just track down the power you've been sensing rather than just purely looking for Patience.

A place that seemed promising was the small yet bustling town of Canterbury. You had made arrangements to stay at one of the more highly-rated places called The Canterbury Inn, a quaint bed and breakfast place that looked pretty nice. You were able to find your room perfectly fine, your mind whirling with strategies for what to do next as well as the headache you got whenever you were around a lot of divine energy, which must have meant that you were getting close ro something. You decided to wait until nightfall to investigate the inn.
As soon as the B&B was silent, you made your move, quietly making your way through the building. Following your senses, you came upon a door that was locked. It seemed to have some sort of spell on it, but you were able to easily break it. Once you opened the door, you realized it was a staircase leading up to the attic. You walk up the steps, the only light being the moonlight streaming through the large window that took up one side of the attic. You noticed there were bookshelves that lined the walls, with old tables and chairs strewn about covered in books and plants. As you continued to walk forward you heard a creak of movement near you, causing you to instantly pull out your weapon and look at what it must be... only to see a doll/marionette thing. You relaxed for a moment, your initial surprise making your senses buffer for a moment before you realized that the divine energy you were drawn towards... was coming from the doll. "So you're Wrath's toy; a pleasure I'm sure." A voice spoke, seemingly coming from the doll, which surprised you again... when you saw it open its eyes and move its head to look at you straight on. "Why are you here?" She asked curiously, her expression serious yet mostly cold.

You have lived in Canterbury for a year now, having moved in to the small town for a change of pace. As with every small town, Canterbury has its own spread of rumors and ghost stories, and since you've always been into those kinds of things, you've been investigating quite a few of them. You've recently heard that at night at the old Canterbury Library, an old building that was abandoned after the roof mysteriously caved in, apparently had a doll that moved around on its own, sorting through the old, crumbling books.
After planning out everything you could possibly need, you decided to head out one night to see if the stories were true. Youbbiked over to the location before heading inside. You listened carefully to the creaks of the old building, not wanting to potentially fall through the floorboards or get hit by any remaining pieces of ceiling. You had just reached a section of the library were there seemed to still be books on the shelves, appearing to be in rather good condition- which was what you just finished thinking before the old wood beneath you creaked as if screaming before falling away. For a moment it felt like you were in a cartoon, your body suspended in the air... before gravity took hold and you felt yourself dropping down. You shut your eyes and braced yourself for impact... only for nothing to happen. You slowly opened your eyes, seeing a faint purplish blue hue surrounding your body as you were set down somewhere much safer. "There's a reason why this building has remained empty after all these years, you know." A cool, feminine voice spoke.

You..?
