It's been a week since I had the baby. I did months of searching for the perfect little family for him. The couple had been together for a long time and no matter what they tried they were not able to have any kids. I opt out to hold the baby...or even look at him. I don't know if I will ever get over giving him up but I know in the long run he will have a good life.

The couple had paid for so much stuff and more...so much more that I went and got a good used car. With the rest of the money I placed it in the bank for rainy days. I mean you never know when you will need a little extra cash.

I call up Bella. "You ready for work...I'm leaving in like five minutes."

"Yes...I will right down."

I hate my job...like really hate it. All I do is add pencils to this machine and then pack the pencils and into a larger box...all day...eight hours...boring as hell. No windows or air that flows besides the big fans that only blows out hot air. But it's a freaking job and it helps put food on the table.

I drive to the day care and drop off all the kids. When Bella gets back in we head off to work. Eight long hours. Afterwards we stop by the store before getting the kids. There is this guy that I notice that keeps staring at the both of us but mostly at Bella. "Hey...that guy over there keeps checking you out." I nudge her.

She looks up and groans. "That is Spence...that is the guy I was living with when I had nowhere to go."

"Oh...nice looking...but he looks rough." I tease her.

"You have no idea."We walk up to the front to pay for our stuff and then go out the door. He walks over to the car and stops her. "Hey babe...no kids today...you want to hook up?"

"Actually we are on our way to get them...right Evelyn." She looks over at me and I roll my eyes back at her."

Yep...on our way now." I get in the car and rolled down the window to let out the stuffy heat. "You know Bella...I could pick up the kids and meet you later if you want."

"See...what a great friend you have...come on we can grab a bite to eat and then you can get the girls later." I watch as he pulls her into him.

She bends down and looks in the door. "I don't think that is a good idea, but thanks for the offer."

"What you don't trust me with the girls...come on it's not like I don't have three of my own."

"No...I do trust you." She motions with her eyes to the guy behind her and mouths... "I don't want to go with him."

His hands wrap around her waist and he leans in the door as well. "Thanks for watching the girls...she will come by later to get them alright."

"Yeah....alright...you two catch up...have some fun Bella." I start the car and roll up the window. I then back out and she is looking back at me when I glance in the rear view mirror. I get to the day care and get all the kids and go straight home.

When it starts to get dark outside I start to get a little worried. I'm surprised that she is not here by now to pick up the girls. I fix all the kids something to eat and put them to bed. I let her girls sleep on my bed. I keep calling her but she is not answering. I am really beginning to get worried about her. It's just not like her to not answer her phone. Maybe it was a huge mistake telling her to go on with that guy...what the hell was I thinking.

I dose off and wake up to the alarm going off. I roll out of bed and the girls are still sleeping. I check my phone and nothing. I jump up and call her then send out a text before jumping in the shower before heading off back to work. Still nothing. I take the kids to day care and then go to work.

The whole day I am looking for her but nothing. What the hell. When I get off work I go over to her place before picking up the kids. I knock and knock. I take out her spare key that she had given to me a while back and walk in. The place is clean, like she never came home at all last night. I call again before I go pick up the kids from daycare.

Once back home the kids are fussing over who is going to watch what on TV. I grab the remote and put on Tom and Jerry... "There...now be quite."There is a light knock at the door and I go to answer it. It's Bella. "Where the hell have you been...do you have any idea how freaking worried I was."

"I'm sorry..." She grabs her nose and squints up her eyes as if her head is hurting. "I...I...please forgive me...thanks for taking care of the girls." She walks in and grabs up their diaper bag and then picks up Neveah. "I really didn't mean to be gone that long. It's just that Spence...he...he..."She keeps looking down at her arm. I see a nice rounded out bruise in the crook of her arm.

"Tell me you didn't?" I grab her arm and get a really good look at it.She starts to cry.

"Dammit....Evelyn...we were just talking...you know...and he must have added things in my drink...I don't know but I ended up back at his place and when I came to he gave me this shot...I was so freaking out of it."

"Oh...shit...did he have sex with you?"

She starts to cry some more. "Evelyn..." she nods her head and I pull her into me and put my arms around her.

"What a jerk? Oh shit...you on the pill right?"

She nods... "I had a IUD in place after the girls were born. Evelyn I'm scared of getting back on that shit. Before I had the girls I was using...that's why I can't be with him. He will never give it up and he will drag me right down with him. I can't lose the girls Evelyn...I just can't."

"You are not going to lose the girls alright...and you don't ever have to see him again. If I had known he was such a jerk I would have never told you to go off with him."

"It's not your fault...I should have said no." She sits down on the couch and starts crying again. She uses the bottom of her shirt and wipes the tears away. Then picks up Heaven. "Thanks for watching the girls...I will see you tomorrow alright."

"You sure you don't want to just stay here for the night?"

"No...it's alright...I'm good. Thanks Evelyn for everything. I was so freaking worried about them."

"No problem. You know where I am if you need me."
