SDS3 49: NO MATTER WHAT
THE SEVEN DEADLY RULERS gathered together and walked toward the Archangels. It was a strange sight, considering how they were mortal enemies for centuries.
"I hate to say this but...thank you, and we're sorry for ever doubting your sons," Archangel Michael stated, almost making the rulers grin in satisfaction.
"Those words could have literally ended the war between us," Lucifer managed to joke, making the rest of them laugh.
As the laughter died down, Gabriel took a step forward and said, "Your sons proved everything that we ever thought was wrong. We are thankful to them, and we will continue to be thankful to them until the very end."
"I'm glad to hear that," Satan answered, and the fourteen fathers smiled at each other, glad that after all those years, they finished not only the war that took place today but the war that has been going on between them as well.
"But just to clarify, we're still demons, and we will continue to tempt these humans for as long as we shall live. No hard feelings though," Mammon then said, making the Archangel's leader laugh.
"Don't worry, that was an agreement even before we came. So demons, go wild," Michael says, and Mammon nods his head, glad that they understand the roles that they still have to play even after what happened today.
"So what now demons? Any plans?" Samuel then asked.
Lucifer took a deep breath and looking at his fellow rulers before looking back at the archangels. "Now that the king of hell is locked up, we'll have to fix a lot of things in the underworld. We gotta fix the system there, and maybe upgrade a few realms."
"Sounds like a good plan," Michaels said back.
"And how about Mother Pandora?" Someone suddenly asked.
The rulers and the archangels all turn their heads to see the Seven Evil Emotions walking towards them.
Lucifer smiled at them and looked back at their leader, Despair. "As for Pandora, she's alright now. She's back at your realm, and I'm sure that she'll be glad to see that her children are doing okay."
Despair sighed in relief, but then Nightmare heads towards Phanuel and suddenly grabs him by the collar, surprising everyone. "And Hope? How about Hope? Is he okay?"
The Emotion wanted to pull their brother away, but Phanuel stopped them as he reached out for Nightmare to pat his back as a sign of comfort. "He is alright, and he is at peace in Ophanim. He actually talks a lot about you, and maybe after all this, I'll let you see him, maybe just for a while."
Nightmare's eyes widened from what the archangel told him, but then he finally lets go of him. They thought he wasn't going to do anything anymore, but then Nightmare grabs him and gives him a hug, surprising everyone even more. "Thank you."
Phanuel was shocked as well, but then he smiled and hugged the emotion back. "Don't worry about it."
"Okay, we're all happy. Can we go back now? I really wanna see mother Pandora," Panic suddenly says, but then Pain drapes his arm around his shoulder and tells him, "Oh come on now, when else will we be given a chance to return here? Besides...we haven't congratulated those troublesome princes yet."
Pain pointed at the seven sons who were approaching them, the Arcs walking right beside them.
Everyone, including the other demons, angels, and humans who helped with the war, stopped talking to look at the sons with proud smiles on their faces.
"See, our games paid off after all," Pain commented as the emotions moved away so the sons could give way to the princes.
"It's so fucking weird to see you all together. It's like a collaboration that no one asked for but everyone still needed it," Jiyong managed the say as they finally stopped in front of their fathers.
Sunggyu stood in the center, and then he bowed, making the rest of his brothers follow behind him. "We are thankful for your assistance fathers. And we are glad that you're all okay."
"You really are their leader," Satan said as he looks at his son with a smile.
"We're thankful for your gratitude, but I think it's clear who we should really be thanking here," Lucifer suddenly said, making the sons stand back up so they could look at him.
Without saying anything, Lucifer suddenly opened his wings and went down on one knee so he could bow in front of the seven deadly sons. The action surprised the Demons, but then, one by one, the other rulers bowed, and then followed by the emotions. Even Kharon, who was with Kharon II and Grimm Reaper, bowed in front of them as well.
The Demons were left speechless as they watch the powerful demons bow to them like the princes that they were. But then, to an even greater surprise, Michael opened up his wings and went down on his knees too.
"We...everyone in the kingdom of heaven...are indebted to you sons. Thank you," Michael says before bowing his head even deeper.
And like what happened to the rulers, the rest of the Archangels bowed, followed by the Arcs and their guardian Dongmin, who couldn't help but be proud of them too.
Finally, Kai and Tamo, and the rest of the humans started bowing at them as well, and everyone who was there was now bowing at the sons, showing them their greatest gratitude.
Hyunseung looked at them and started tearing up. He then looked at Minhyuk and grabbed his hand tightly. And then Minhyuk grabbed Suho's hand, and the brothers all started holding hands as they watch their comrades with tears in their eyes.
Everything that they went through was finally over. They couldn't have done it without the people who helped them, but most importantly, they wouldn't have been able to do it without each other.
"I love you guys so fucking much," Minhyuk says as he started sobbing like a kid, and everyone finally stood back up.
Sunggyu looked at Minhyuk and ruffled his hair to tease him. And as the sons started playing and teasing each other, Archangel Gabriel suddenly walked towards them, instantly making the sons settle down.
Gabriel looked at the Demons, and then at the Arcs. "I am angel Gabriel, and I am a messenger of God. So as you may expect, I have a message for all fourteen of you."
The Arcs and the Demons looked at each other and started moving close to each other so they could hear Gabriel better.
"What? Is he going to turn rain into gold as payment because I would honestly love that," Suho suddenly said, making Lay smack him again.
Gabriel chuckled, and then he looked back at their fathers who were excitedly smiling too. Their expressions honestly confused the sons even more, so Gabriel finally told them what the message was about.
"We don't know if this is something that you all will agree upon, but it is clear that you have all have sacrificed for the greater good of humanity. We will be honored to officially make the Arcs full-fledged angels like how the Demons are now full-fledged demons, but our God the Father had a better plan."
"And what is that exactly?" Sunggyu and Junhyung asked in unison.
Gabriel took a deep breath and finally revealed to them, "Arcs...Demons...as the most powerful being in the universe, God is offering you the chance to turn back into humans."
Everyone who was listening was shocked by the unexpected message, especially the Demons and the Angels. They could barely even say a word after what Gabriel just said.
"H-Humans? You mean...we can...go back to normal?" Taeil asked, still in shock because he never imagined that he'll be able to be a normal human again.
"Yes," Michael answered this time. "You can go back to living your lives like normal teenagers. Or to make it sound even better, you can finally rest."
The news was still too sudden that no one could say a single thing. But then Jiyong looked at his brothers, and then at the Arcs. "It doesn't matter," Jiyong suddenly said, making everyone look back at him.
He then looked back at Gabriel and told him, "I may be the most powerful demon, but that doesn't really matter at all. What matters is that we're together. And whatever happens, whether we become demons, angels, humans, or even aliens...as long as we're together, I'm fine either way."
The Demons and the Arcs who looked uncertain earlier finally smiled after hearing what Jiyong has to say.
"He's right," Junhyung added. "We'll be together no matter what, so father Gabriel-"
Junhyung paused and looked at the Demon's leader with certainty. Sunggyu nodded his head, and with great determination, he looked back at Gabriel and continued, "We humbly accept his offer."
