SDS3 48: AFTERMATH
HUMANS, ANGELS, AND DEMONS alike started arriving at the grounds of Holy Angels University to witness the sons' overwhelming victory. Most of them were injured, but thankfully Lay and his father, Archangel Raphael, were going around and healing them.
Though this was a victory, there were casualties. Out of all of them, a handful of them still met their end.
"Hyunseung!" Someone shouted while the seven deadly sons stood in the middle of the grounds where the king was pulled under.
Hyunseung looked back and suddenly saw Junhyung running towards him as fast as he could. And before Hyunseung could even say anything, Junhyung grabbed him and wrapped him in his arms, embracing him tightly.
"You're okay. Thank God you're okay," Junhyung said in relief, pulling away and giving his lover a passionate kiss.
Clear drops of tears pour out of Hyunseung's eyes as he kisses him back. And as they were sharing their moment together, the other members of the Arcs finally arrived as well.
Mark, who was still injured since he wanted Lay to heal the other humans first, didn't even say a word as tears instantly start pouring out of his eyes. He looked straight at Jackson who was looking back at him with a soft smile. Jackson then opened his arms wide, and Mark finally ran to Jackson so he could hug him.
"I told you I'll come back to you," Jackson said, hugging Mark tightly before giving him a gentle kiss on the head.
"I saw you as a dragon. I looked up at the sky and instantly knew that it was you. I thought you were going to get hurt. I was so scared," Mark said as he pulled away from Jackson's embrace so he could look at Jackson's exhausted expression.
Jackson took a deep breath and wiped the tears off of Mark's cheeks, reassuring him that he's alright. "You always worry about me, but you don't know how much I worry about you too. Do you even know why I trained so hard?"
Mark didn't say anything, so Jackson leaned and kissed Mark's forehead first before giving him an answer. "It's so I can protect you. So you do not have to worry about anything. I will never die and leave you in pain, and I will literally fight a dragon just to make sure you'll be alright."
As soon as Mark heard of Jackson's answer, more tears started pouring out of his eyes. He grabbed Jackson again to hug him tightly. "I love you so much," he tells him. And Jackson hugged him back and whispers the same.
Suho on the other hand looked at the Arcs and noticed that Lay wasn't with them, so Suho walked away and started searching for his lover.
"Yixing!" He called out.
Suho continued walking past the injured men and women alike who battled with them. But after a few more steps, he finally spotted Lay healing Kai, who was being comforted by his lover, Tamo.
Suho sighed in relief as he approaches his busy medic lover. "Can I go next? My chest hurts a little because I've been worried about this particular angel all day that I ended up becoming completely restless."
Lay instantly stopped healing Kai's injured leg so he could look back.
Lay has completely drained himself after healing so many, but he continued to do so because he believed that it's his duty. He was exhausted, and anyone who saw him would see it, but as soon as Lay saw Suho, a bright smile suddenly appeared on his face, and then it was accompanied by tears.
"Joon," Yixing said with a weak voice.
Suho's face was serious as he approached Lay. Lay wanted to say something, but then Suho grabbed his arm and pulled him towards him so he could give him a kiss. Lay was flustered for a second, but he kissed him back a couple of seconds after.
When the two pulled away from the kiss, Suho cupped his hands on Lay's cheeks and tells him, "I'm so fucking proud of you, do you know that?"
Lay doesn't say anything but kisses Suho again as an answer. The two continue with their passionate reunion, but then Kai broke the atmosphere as he cleared his throat and said, "Hello, I'm literally legless here. Can you do that later?"
The two awkward lovers finally pull apart as they look back at their injured friend. Suho was about to get angry at Kai for disturbing their moment, but then Suho saw that Kai's leg was literally on the side.
"Holy shit what the fuck happened to you man!?" Suho shouted before looking at his leg with disgust.
Lay smacked Suho's arm and scolded him before kneeling back down in front of Kai. "S-Sorry, I got a little bit distracted there. Let me fix that." He then took Kai's leg and attached it back. Lay's hand started glowing, and the leg started attaching itself back.
"I'm glad you're okay Suho. And congratulations as well, you and your brothers finally defeated the king of hell," Tamo said while he was holding Kai's hand. "I'd stand to bow at you, but I'm kinda injured too."
Suho chuckled, but then he approached Tamo and patted his shoulder before telling him, "No, we defeated him, so thank you Tamo. And you too Kai, you're a fucking badass."
Kai, who was holding Tamo's hand tightly since he was literally in pain, pretended that he was alright as he said, "Don't worry about it man. When else will I be able to brag about being able to kill a giant scorpion that literally chopped my leg off?"
Suho laughed at the comment, and then he kneels beside Lay and tells him, "Now what can I do to help?"
Meanwhile...
"Are you alright? Do you feel pain anywhere? Do you want me to call for Lay?" Jihoon asked while he continuously searched for any injury on Taeil's body.
"Jihoon, relax, I'm alright," Taeil tried to tell him, but the worry on his fiancé's face didn't change even after what he said.
Taeil takes a deep breath and grabs hold of Jihoon's hands before looking straight at Jihoon's eyes. "Look at me, okay? I'm alright. You don't have to worry about me because I'm here. I'm not leaving you, ever."
Jihoon stared back at Taeil before finally grabbing him for a hug, making Taeil rest his chin on his shoulder.
"And besides, I'm the Demons' master planner. I practically planned this entire war too so I was confident that nothing would happen to me," Taeil managed to say, but Jihoon only hugged him tighter as an answer.
Taeil softy smiles as he starts caressing Jihoon's back to comfort him. He must have been so scared the entire time since Taeil could literally feel his body trembling. But even though it may look like Taeil didn't feel the same way, he was actually anxious too. Because ever since the war started, Taeil felt like his heart was going to explode. He was worried about his brothers, Jihoon, and everyone else who was fighting in the war. Like what he said, he was the master planner, and if they fail, a big chunk of that responsibility falls to him.
"It's okay now. It's okay," Taeil continued to say, convincing not only Jihoon but himself as well.
Jihoon took a deep breath and closed his eyes. Even though the area was filled with noise, Jihoon could almost hear Taeil's heartbeat. And as his heartbeat comforted him, a cold breeze suddenly passed through them, and a voice whispered in Jihoon's ear, "It's your turn to take care of him now."
"Jiho?" Jihoon asks as he immediately opened his eyes and pulled away from Taeil.
Taeil looked back at him with a confused expression as Jihoon looked behind him like he was looking for someone. But before Taeil could even ask what was going on, Jihoon grabbed Taeil again so he could hug him tightly. "I love you so much Taeil. I'll take care of you till my last dying breath. I promise."
Taeil was surprised by the sudden declaration, but he brushed it off as he hugs Jihoon back. "I love you too."
People might think that Jihoon has gone crazy, but he was a hundred percent sure that the voice came from Taeil's past lover, Woo Jiho. And he was also a hundred percent sure that Jiho can finally rest in peace, knowing that the person he loves will now be in safe hands.
"I saw what you did from the tower Minhyuk! You were seriously awesome!" Sungjae excitedly said as he stood in front of Minhyuk who was embarrassingly scratching the back of his head.
"You were fighting the king like it was nothing, and then there was this rope that was covered in fire and you were pulling him to the ground. I was a bit worried since I couldn't connect with you guys anymore, but I'm glad I was able to witness your final battle," Sungjae continued to share, and Minhyuk's face was now completely red.
Sungjae pauses and sees Minhyuk's reaction. He was confused for a second, but then he starts laughing when he realized why Minhyuk was as red as a tomato. "Are you shy?"
"S-Stop it...I wasn't even that cool. My brothers did most of the work," Minhyuk defended, but Sungjae crossed his arms and argued otherwise.
"Are you kidding me? You were seriously amazing. You've always been guilty about fainting or falling asleep whenever there was a big fight. But this time Minhyuk, you were there, and you took every moment and gave it your all. You are as amazing as the other son, and don't you ever think otherwise," Sungjae said with sincerity.
Minhyuk looked at Sungjae, and he honestly thought that he was going to cry after what he heard. But then he looked away from Sungjae and shyly asked, "I-If I was that cool then...give me a kiss."
The request came out of nowhere that Sungjae ended up being flustered. And this time, it was his turn to turn tomato red.
When Sungjae didn't give a response, Minhyuk instantly felt embarrassed and got ready to tell him that he was just joking. But then he felt something soft press on his cheeks, immediately making him look back at Sungjae.
Sungjae was blushing up to his ear, and his shyness affected Minhyuk as he started blushing too.
"Was that okay?" Sungjae asked, not even looking at Minhyuk.
Minhyuk touched his cheek where Sungjae left a kiss before giving an answer, "No."
"What?" Sungjae immediately asked as he finally looked back at Minhyuk. And as soon as their eyes met, Minhyuk suddenly grabbed Sungjae's arm as he pulled him towards him so he could finally give Sungjae a soft kiss on the lips.
Sungjae's eyes widened from shock, but then he slowly opens his mouth, and the two starts kissing like lovers for the first time. The two of them didn't say a single word after that, but they both knew that the kiss said a thousand unspoken words that they didn't dare say before.
"And look at Minhyuk go. He finally got the man that he likes," Sunggyu said as he shoved both of his hand inside his pockets. He smiled at his brother, and then he looks on the side and saw an angel stealing glances at him.
Sunggyu chuckled and took a deep breath as he looked directly at the angel named Woohyun. "And I guess it's about time that I get mine."
Woohyun saw that Sunggyu was directly looking at him, so Woohyun's heart suddenly started beating like crazy. He pretended like he was just standing around and definitely not contemplating about walking towards Sunggyu since earlier, but when he made a quick turn to avoid Sunggyu who was now approaching him, his head instantly ached after using his powers for more than two hours.
"S-Shit..." Woohyun was about to stumble back, but then someone grabbed him just in time.
"You alright?" Sunggyu asked.
Woohyun was still dizzy, but as soon as he saw Sunggyu's face, the dizziness miraculously vanished, and he immediately pushed the demon away from him. "I-I'm fine. Thanks."
Sunggyu stared at him, and Woohyun instantly looked away from him again. The action made the Demon's leader laugh.
"Where did your confidence go angel? You've been continuously declaring that you'll chase after me, but then you're acting all shy now," Sunggyu teased, but then Woohyun ended up having a sad expression on his face, and that made the grin on Sunggyu's face disappear.
Sunggyu wanted to ask what the problem was, but then Woohyun looked at the ground and said, "I watched you guys from the tower and you fought with great honor and pride. Everyone got badly injured, including you, while I was safely hiding at the tower, not even lifting a finger. I do want to chase after you Kim Sunggyu, but I realized that you're just way out of my league."
"What the hell are you saying?"
"Y-You're just...you're the leader of the Seven Deadly Sons. You're an insanely powerful prince and an amazing demon. I don't-"
"You're seriously an idiot," Sunggyu said as he suddenly clenched on Woohyun's shirt. Woohyun thought that the demon was going the punch him, but then Sunggyu pulled him towards him before grabbing him for a passionate kiss.
Woohyun's world literally stopped as he felt Sunggyu's tongue touch his. At that moment he thought that he was going to faint. It was the first time that Woohyun was able to kiss someone like that, so when they parted from the kiss, both of them were panting heavily.
"That was amazing," Woohyun said, but then he looked straight at Sunggyu's eyes and told him, "B-But why did you kiss me?"
Sunggyu honestly wanted to really hit Woohyun after hearing his question, but he draped his arms around Woohyun's neck instead and asked him, "You told me before that you'll give me a clear picture of my future if I let go of my past. If I become yours, will you be able to do that?"
Woohyun's eyes widened from shock, and then his shock turns into laughter.
"A clear future isn't the only thing I can give you, Kim Sunggyu," Woohyun answered as he pressed his forehead on Sunggyu.
Sunggyu smirked and gave a quick peck on Woohyun's lips. "Looks like your confidence is back. I'm warning you though, I am a very passionate person."
Woohyun stared at Sunggyu's lips before leaning towards his ear so he could whisper, "Then I'm looking forward to our angry sex."
While the two were openly flirting with each other like no one was watching them, Jiyong angrily kicked a pebble before sitting down on the floor and looking at the sky.
"Great, I just saved the world and my brothers get to lock their lips with someone while I'm stuck here injured and alone," Jiyong complained. But then someone stood behind him and looked down on him, blocking Jiyong's view of the sky.
"Want to lock your lips with mine then?" Seunghyun suddenly asked with an expressionless face, making Jiyong snort.
"In your dreams big guy. These lips are worth more than money can buy," Jiyong said before finally lying on the dirty floor and closing his eyes so he could finally rest.
Seunghyun continued to look down at him. He wanted to scold the demon for lying down on the ground, but he sighed and suddenly lied beside him instead. Jiyong was surprised by the sudden action, but he ignored him and continued to close his eyes.
"I'm surprised that my power worked on you even though you transformed back to your human form. God must have seen your sincerity and granted you that permission," Seunghyun said while looking at the sky, the sun rising before them.
"Maybe," Jiyong answered. "I'd also bow and thank you too, but I don't think I have the energy left to do so."
"Don't worry, there will be more chances for you to do that now," Seunghyun answered back.
The two then became quiet as they enjoy the silent company of each other. And as the people around them run past them, Seunghyun took a deep breath and closed his eyes as well before asking, "What will you do now prince?"
Jiyong thought about it for a second before opening his eyes back. "I actually don't know, but what I'm sure of is I want to spend time with my brothers. I want to take back all the time that we wasted when I died, and then maybe start living a normal life."
"A normal life..." Seunghyun repeated.
The wind blew against them, and Jiyong closed his eyes again. And as the two lie on the floor, a smile suddenly appeared on Seunghyun's usually serious expression as he continued, "I'd actually like that too."
