NOVEMBER 01, 5:09 AM
AT HAU
THE SKY WAS A complete shade of red as the seven Demons stood in front of the massive monster that was emerging before them. They never knew that the King that they had mentioned a thousand times before would look something as horrifying as this. He almost looked like a titan, yet no other word would ever be enough to fully describe him.
"T-that's the king?" Taeil asks with shock and fear obviously present in his expression.
His power was so strong that it was almost impossible to breathe. Everyone almost couldn't move a muscle as the king continued to pull himself out of the enormous mark. They continued to stare at it until Kharon finally called out to them to snap them back to their senses.
"Demons! What are you doing?! Attack!" Kharon shouts at the top of his lungs, and the seven demons immediately flew towards the king like someone flipped a switch that made them move.
They were finally in front of the demon who started it all. They were in front of the king who not only cursed their fathers but made them go through literal hell. The fear they felt when they finally saw him instantly changed to rage. This was the demon who dared hurt them and the ones they love. This will be the end of their sufferings. This is where they'll end it all.
"Brothers, remember why we're here!" Sunggyu shouted as they continue to fly towards the king. "May the heavenly god be with us till the end!"
"Let's kill this motherfucker!" Jiyong shouted next, and everyone cheered beside him.
Without saying anything else, the seven demons went on their separate ways. Jackson saw that the king was still trying to pull himself out of the mark. His body was still halfway through the demonic portal, so Jackson immediately had an idea.
"I'll try to stop him from completely getting out of the mark to give you guys some time!" Jackson announced to his brothers. And without wasting any more seconds, Jackson flew back down and suddenly turned himself into an enormous ram. He falls from the sky, making a loud thump sound that almost shook the ground if it weren't shaking already.
Jackson positioned his horns towards the back of the king and ran towards him in full force. As soon as he made contact with him, Jackson's horns pierced indie the king's flesh, black blood instantly oozing out of it as it did.
The king shouted, almost making the other demons cover their ears. But Jackson was unbothered as he starts pushing the king downwards.
The king of hell tried to reach out to Jackson so he could remove him from his back, but Hyunseung arrived in front of him. Before the king could even react, Hyunseung kissed his saw-like weapon, transferring his power - the kiss of death - onto it. With all his strength exerted in his arm, Hyunseung's eyes turned completely red as he swung his arm in full speed, throwing his weapon directly at the king's chest.
The king screamed again as more blood oozes out of him. And just before he could take the saw from his chest, Hyunseung summoned it back, automatically making it reappear again in his hand.
Kharon watches as his kids start attacking their supposed king with no mercy. He realized that what the king did to them all those years did not weaken them at all. Because the truth is, their past sufferings strengthened them even more, and the king was a fool to believe that he'll be able to defeat them after everything that he did.
But as Kharon continued to watch, he realized something regarding the king of hell. Even though the seven princes were overwhelmingly powerful, there was no doubt that he looked weaker.
Was it because of all the ghouls and demonic creatures that he brought here? Was it because the rulers weren't bounded in hell anymore? Or was it because-
"D-Don't tell me..."
Kharon paused and immediately looked up in the sky. The red clouds were slowly turning back to normal. He then looked at the special watch that he's wearing, which indicates that it was already 5:14 AM. The devil's hour was already over an hour ago, which means the gate of hell is already closed. And when it reaches 6:00 AM, the sun will finally rise, and it would mean that-
"Angel's hour. The gates of heaven will fully open at six," Kharon realized with his eyes wide open from shock.
"Demons, hang in there for forty more minutes! When the clock strikes six, that's when you do the final blow!" Kharon easily announces to everyone thanks to Sungjae's powers.
The demons didn't answer, but they fully understood what their guardian meant by what he said, so the demons continued to attack the king with all their might.
Jackson continued to push down the king a well, but even though he was as big as a bus, it was still not enough to slow the king down. So when Jiyong saw his brother struggling, Jiyong immediately flew toward him to tap him. And just like that, Jiyong was able to copy his power.
"Looks like you need a hand," Jiyong says as he clones himself into three. And just like Jackson, two of Jiyong's clones turned into a ram and pierced their large horns on the king's flesh as well to stop the king from arising from the demonic mark.
This action obviously angered the king, but the Demons were prepared for such an outrage.
Thankfully, the damage that Hyunseung did to the king's chest was strong as his chest started to turn black thanks to Hyunseung's kiss of death. When the other demons saw this, they knew that they had to continue targeting the chest too.
"You betrayers!" The king shouted in anger, his voice sounding like it came from a hundred other voices.
This time, as the others distracted the king, Minhyuk got close to the king's chest to aim at it too.
"You're wrong. You...betrayed us," Minhyuk answered as he readied his weapon. He takes a deep breath and finally threw his weapon at the king's chest as well. And as it got stuck on the king's chest, Minhyuk's entire arm starts burning as he positions his hand on his sword, a string of fire suddenly appears from the weapon that connects to his hand. It was an impressive trick that Minhyuk was able to do when they were training.
Minhyuk took another deep breath as he closes his eyes. The moment he closed his eyes, an image appeared in front of him, and it was his brothers happily laughing at their lunch table at HAU's cafeteria with the Arcs. And as they were laughing, Sungjae looked at him and smiled; it was the warmest smile that Minhyuk has ever seen before.
The grounds continued to rumble as Minhyuk finally opened his eyes back, revealing his piercing red iris. "You will pay for what you did to the people I love!" Minhyuk shouted as he started pulling the string that's attached to his sword. And with his power of life draining, Minhyuk pulled the king's life out as he pulled his sword with it.
"You will pay!" Minhyuk shouted even louder as his entire body was now covered in flames. And in one final thug, Minhyuk successfully pulls out his sword, gallons of black blood instantly streaming out of the king's chest like it was a waterfall.
The king falls to the ground as he touches his chest while his other hand held onto the ground so he could support his body from falling forward.
As for Minhyuk, the fire that covered his body disappeared, and both of his hands were completely burned; not from the fire, but from the energy that he took from the king. He was so exhausted that he couldn't even fly anymore. He starts falling at full speed, and just when he was inches away from the ground, Kharon appeared and caught him.
"I know this isn't the right time for this, but you are definitely not a loser prince of Glutton," Kharon says with a proud smile, making Minhyuk give out a weak chuckle.
While Kharon handled Minhyuk, Suho and Sunggyu flew beside each other.
"I'll throw my weapon at his back, and you follow after with your hammer," Sunggyu told him, and Suho nodded his head as an answer.
Sunggyu then starts flying farther away from the king instead of getting closer to him. When he was already at a good distance, Sunngyu clenched on his weapon and stared at the king who he has hated ever since he read the letter that he was a son of a demon.
Everything flashed in front of Sunggyu's eyes like they were reminding him of what this king did to him and his brothers. And then, he saw Jiyong. The image of Jiyong's death, and how they buried him; their tears and their anger all mixed together.
"I am the Prince of Wrath, the son of Satan, and the 5th deadly sinner! You will feel my rage, and my name will become your greatest fear. Mark my words!" Sunggyu shouted as blood tears start pouring out of his eyes. He pulled his body back, and with one quick motion, he threw his saw-like weapon towards the back of the king, directly adjacent to his chest.
The weapon flew towards the king so fast that it started burning up. And as it finally got stuck on the king's back, Suho flew towards it. He took a deep breath, and with a grin on his face, he slammed his hammer on Sunggyu's weapon, making it pierce on his back even deeper until the sword went through his body, making its way out of his chest that was already wounded.
"Hell yeah!" Suho shouted in victory. But then the king suddenly turned around to face him, so Suho instantly stopped cheering so he could fly away from the enormous hand that was about to hit him like he was some sort of fly.
Taeil, who was also watching his brothers like Kharon, started thinking of a plan. The king was obviously not as powerful as he was before, giving the fact that all the powers that the ghouls, demonic monsters, and those large Krakens were from the king himself. The rulers also helped give him power, but now they weren't chained in hell anymore. And then there's the angel's hour. All these factors weakened him.
"But this can't be this easy. It can't be," Taeil concluded as he continued to observe from a safe distance. But as he was scanning the king's body, Taeil noticed something. In the chest area that was already turning black, there was a crack. It was as if...
"It's just a shell," Taeil whispered underneath his breath as he remembered the hand that that grabbed Jiyong's heart during their first battle with him.
"I-It's just a shell...it's just a shell! Brothers! We have to crack him open!" Taeil finally announces, surprising everyone.
Thankfully their hard work was not in vain as the damages they made as enough to give cracks on its body.
"Crack it open you say?" Jiyong - one of his three clones that didn't turn into a ram - said with a prideful grin as he held onto his weapon tight. "That's way too fucking easy."
Jiyong looked at the crack that was already on the king's chest. Like Sunggyu, Jiyong flew away from the king so he could have the right momentum when he strikes. Jiyong then took a deep breath and looked back at the king with the same sadistic grin that he had whenever he was trying to scare his classmates before.
"You killed me once, and that was a mistake that will never happen again," Jiyong says as he closed his eyes, gripping his weapon even harder. When he opened his eyes back, he cloned himself five more times. And with Jackson's power that he was able to copy earlier, Jiyong turned his arm into a giant's arm.
"I'm not the strongest prince for nothing, and you will never be able to kill me again," Jiyong confidently declared as he finally flew right down with his clones.
The other demons were distracting the king, but with Jiyong's immense power, the king was able to sense him. He looked up and saw Jiyong flying towards him. But before he could even defend himself, Jiyong was already inches in front of him. With a strong swing, all six of him swung at the crack on the king's chest.
The king shouted at the top of his lungs as his entire body suddenly slowly got covered in fire. Jiyong called all of his clones and morphed back into one, while Jackson also shifted himself back to normal.
"He's gonna blow!" Suho shouted while covering his ears from the king's agonizing scream.
The demons immediately escaped as fast as they could, but then the shaking stopped, making them stop as well.
The king - or more specifically his shell - was engulfed in flames as the cracks grew bigger and bigger. The demons took cover as the cracks finally opened. There was silence for a moment like everything stopped right then and there. But as they waited, the king shouted for one last time until its entire body finally explodes.
The impact was so strong that some of the demons were even thrown away. And thanks to the explosion, they were also now covered in black blood.
With a disgusted look on Jiyong's face, he immediately stood up and flapped his wings so he could remove the blood from it. "Okay, I wasn't expecting that to happen."
Jiyong looked around and counted all his brothers. When he saw that they were all okay, he couldn't help but sigh in relief. Minhyuk, who was also feeling a lot better now, rejoined his other brothers as well.
"Was that it? Did we kill him? Did we win?" Suho innocently asks. No one really answered him, but the worried expression on his brothers' faces made him realize that there was more to come.
The enormous titan that was in front of them was now gone, and only smoke was covering the area where he was supposed to be found.
The seven deadly sons composed themselves and approached the smoke. They looked back at each other and gripped on their own weapons. And as the smoke finally fades in front of them, a figure emerged.
He had large wings, horns similar to a Scimitar-Horned Oryx, red iris that was covered in black instead of white, and insanely sharp teeth and claws. His skin looked like it was made from burnt tree trunks, and there was also black smoke oozing out of him. With one glance, everyone knew who he was.
"Aren't you going to bow?" The king said with a wide sadistic smile that showed his menacing teeth.
"Why on earth would we even bow to you? We would rather die than-"
Before Hyunseung could even finish his sentence, his eyes suddenly widened when he felt something strong forcefully pushed him down so he could bow in front of the king. The action surprised everyone, especially Hyunseung.
"What are you doing?!" Jiyong angrily shouted.
The king looks at the sons and suddenly started laughing. "You fools!" As soon as the king stopped laughing, he summoned his staff. To his surprise, inside his staff was a beating heart.
Jiyong's eyes widened as he looked at the heart. "I-Is that my...heart?" Jiyong asked, his anger growing and growing even more.
"You say that you'd rather die than bow to me? Your creator?" The king asked as he approached the seven. With a serious expression, his staff got covered in flames as he continued, "Then DIE."
