SDS3 40: IT BEGINS

NOVEMBER 01, 2:03 AM

THE DEMONS STOOD AT the main entrance of the Holy Home with the rest of the Arcs and their guardians. Today was the day of the war. At exactly 3:00 AM, all the demonic creatures of hell and the king himself will be bringing hammock to the world.

Most of the people in Seoul evacuated except for the members of Ravens, Kharon III's men, and the angels, who are all over the city where the demonic marks could be found. All they're waiting for now are the princes of Heaven and Hell.

"My men are already in their positions," Tamo told Taeil who looked at his watch to see that they are now an hour away from the beginning of this bloody war. The rain is still pouring outside. The initial plan was that the rain was supposed to be gone before the war begins, but Jiyong and Sunggyu had an idea to keep it there. Fire is the source of strength and power from almost everyone in hell, including the Demons, but if it can weaken the opponent, they're willing to take the risk.

Every one of them is now grouped into twelve according to the demonic marks around the city, including the HAU group, which consists of Jiyong, Seunghyun, Kharon III, and Dongmin.

"You guys ready?" Kharon II asked, and Kharon the III – the Demons' guardians – joined his kids and told them, "We're ready when you are."

Junhyung and the rest of the Arcs looked at Demons and nodded their heads. Without any second thought, all fourteen of them transformed into their respective demonic and angelic form. Right after the transformation, Junhyung and Sunggyu, the two groups' leaders, went in front of them.

"This is it. This is the moment we've all prepared for," Junhyung stated.

"No one is going to die tonight, and we will defeat the king no matter what. I'm not going to make this long because I'll use our victory as an opportunity for that, so all we can say now is..." Sunggyu paused and looked at Junhyung with a grin.

"May the king of hell never be with you and your spirit," Junhyung finished, and Jiyong immediately summoned his weapon and raised it in the air, making the rest of them follow. "Let's kill that mother fucker!" Jiyong shouted, and everyone immediately teleported away to their respective positions, leaving Minhyuk and Jackson alone at the Holy Home.

Jackson looked at his brother and nodded his head towards him. Their task was the head to hell and rescue the Rulers and the 7 Evil Emotions. But before they could do anything, they had to wait at exactly 3:AM in order to get in. And that is a wait that will be harder for them than the actual battle.

"As we planned, I'm heading to Father Asmodeus first while you head to the main gate and look for Grim Reaper," Jackson instructed.

Minhyuk nodded his head and summoned hell's map that Kharon gave to them. "Kharon gave us coins to get in hell. The path we're taking is closer to the main gate, so you'll have to move faster since the realm of lust is literally on another floor. But don't worry, once I find the Emotions, I'll immediately head to where you are," Minhyuk stated.

"No, if that happens, go to the realm of Wrath and help Father Satan while I handle the rest. We'll meet up at the realm of pride right after," Jackson explained, and Minhyuk nodded his head again and summoned the map back.

The two started walking to the living room where the mirror was. Dongmin already configured it so when 3:00 strikes, it will automatically open a portal to hell. All they have to do is immediately get in since the portal will close after 30 seconds.

"Anyways, how are our mothers?" Minhyuk asked while they were walking.

Jackson took a deep breath and placed his hands inside his pockets. "They arrived in Japan last night. They're with sir Kenji and Jiyong's pet guardian. Since she's the strongest, I'm sure she could protect them. And I heard from Dongmin that the angels (the maids and butlers) who we were with at Ophanim are also with them," Jackson explained, making Minhyuk sigh in relief.

"Well, our pets have always been protecting our mothers. Since they're from the rulers, they're stronger than most of the ghouls. No one has tried to attack our mothers' thanks to them."

The two arrived in the living room, and everything immediately became silent right after. All they could hear was the rain outside the Holy Home. Minhyuk was about to say something, but then he saw Jackson sighing heavily. He was going to ask if Jackson was nervous, but then he realized something. "You're still casting an illusion aren't you?" He asked him.

"I've been casting this illusion for almost a week now with the help of Jiyong. I have to hide us and everyone else involved in this war so the people of Seoul won't be suspicious. Thankfully when 3:00 AM strikes, time on earth will automatically stop, and I'll be able to release it," Jackson explained, and Minhyuk looked at him worriedly.

"Are you okay? Will you be fine?" He asked him.

Jackson looked at his brother and assured him, "I could even hold onto this illusion for a month if I have to."

Minhyuk smiled and nodded his head; glad his brother was confident with his abilities. "Seriously, you're too strong for a demon. No wonder the king wants to kill us so badly."

TEAM SUNGJAE, 2:12 AM

"Sunggyu, can you hear me? Are you already at your station?" Sungjae asked while holding his temple. It looked like he was talking to himself while he did it because he was actually trying to connect through their heads. Like what was planned, Sungjae's role was to send and receive messages from the sons and the guardians. Lay was with them to heal whoever was in need of it, and so was Woohyun who is tasked to anticipate any great danger coming their way by looking at the future ten minutes at a time.

"This is so fucking weird. You're talking in my head!" Sunggyu answered, making Sungjae chuckle.

"Well, that's good. I already talked to the others, and it seems like everyone can hear my signal. It's a good thing I got to connect with all of you," Sungjae explained.

The connection that he was referring to was the ritual that they did yesterday. Sungjae realized that in order for him to go through someone's mind, he has to be connected with them, and that involved focus, concentration, and an hour of staring at each other's eyes.

"So how you guys holding up?" Sunggyu asked.

"We're good. Lay is on standby, while Woohyun is-" Sungjae paused and glanced at Woohyun who was sitting on a chair, eating chocolates. To top it all off, he had headphones on so he could listen to relaxing music. Since Woohyun is tasked to look through the future and warn them about what could happen, the angel has to be relaxed as much as he can. Even with all his training, looking through the future drains too much of his energy. Which explains why he also has chocolates on him.

"He's what?" Sunggyu immediately asked since Sungjae hasn't answered him yet.

"You worried?" Sungjae teased when he heard the leader's worried tone.

"You're lucky I can't mute you," Sunggyu stated, and Sungjae just laughed it off and told him, "He's getting ready so don't worry. Anyway, I'll end this call and get back to you guys as soon as I can. Remember, just picture my image if you need to contact me again."

"Yeah, yeah. I got it," Sunggyu answered, and everything became silent.

Sungjae took a deep breath as Lay walked towards him to stand beside him. The two looked out of the window to see the view of the city. They were on the top floor of the Lotte World Tower, which is the tallest tower in Seoul. Since they had one of the most important roles, it's best if they avoid the battle as much as they can. The reason why they're also in this building is that they have to see what's happening so they could update the sons.

"My heart is beating so fast I might just faint," Lay stated without looking at Sungjae.

"Please don't. No one's going to heal you," Sungjae managed to joke, which became successful since Lay ended up chuckling by it. But the laughter died down, and Lay became serious again.

"I've practiced and trained for an entire month. I was able to mass heal at least thirty people, but I feel like it's not enough. Our guardian expected me to at least do a hundred, but I couldn't do it. I didn't have the strength to do it," Lay stated with a sad tone, and Sungjae finally looked at him with an equally serious expression.

"Lay, you started healing one person at a time to freakin' thirty! In just a month! That is enough and our guardian knows it. You are stronger than you think," Sungjae told him, "And if it would make you feel better, Suho told me something before we left earlier."

Lay was surprised by what his brother said, so he waited for him to continue.

"Make sure Yixing gets to help a lot of people because that's what he always wanted to do; that's what your lover told me. And as the person who will act as everyone's 911, I will make sure you get to heal everyone. We will not let anyone of them die. Not in our watch," Sungjae answered with determination, and Lay suddenly started looking teary.

Sungjae smiled and patted his back, and Lay finally took a deep breath and gathered his strength.

"How about Minhyuk? Did he leave you any message too?" Lay then asked, suddenly making Sungjae's ears turn red. Lay laughed at the reaction, so Sungjae looked out the window again to avoid his brother's judging stare.

"Based on your reaction, he did," Lay stated, crossing his arms and looking out the window as well. "Perhaps he said something like, I'll fuck you if we survive this war," Lay continued, and Sungjae blushed even more.

"Don't be ridiculous!" Sungjae immediately defended.

Lay scratched his chin and thought about it again, "You're right. Minhyuk isn't that type of person. That line is more of Junhyung or Jihoon's style. Since we're talking about Minhyuk, it would be more innocent like...I can't wait to kiss you when this war is over."

Sungjae's body freezes as he looked at Lay with his eyes wide from shock. Looks like Lay just hit the jackpot.

"Damn, you guys really are the definition of puppy love," Lay stated, immediately making Sungjae hit him.

While Lay was teasing his embarrassed brother, Woohyun, who was listening to music, removed his headphones and looked up at the two. "Looks like the rain is getting stronger. Are they sure that we're safer here?" Woohyun asked them while looking out the window.

"This storm is coming from the heavens. Do you really think our Fathers are going to harm us?" Lay asked, and Woohyun just shrugged his shoulder and took a bite of his dark chocolate.

Sungjae glanced at his watch and took a deep breath. "I really can't believe this is happening. It feels like yesterday when we were tasked to kill the Demons. Now we're tasked to kill not only the king of hell but to do so with the Demons right beside us. It's crazy."

"Thinking about it now, I don't think I'd be able to even hurt them," Lay honestly answered.

Sungjae was about to say something, but then Woohyun placed his chocolate bar down and said, "Do you know why Junhyung and Sunggyu didn't give out an encouraging war speech for us before we left?" He asked them.

"They felt like it wasn't necessary?" Sungjae guessed, and Woohyun shook his head and told them, "No, they wanted us to quickly leave because they didn't want us to say goodbye to our lovers. That's how confident he is that we'll meet each other again after this war is over."

"But too much confidence is dangerous," Lay pointed out.

"Don't worry, our leaders are different now. Just like how different our mission is. Their confidence isn't like before because now they have fate in all of us," Woohyun explained, and Lay raised his right eyebrow and asked him, "Why are you suddenly telling us this?"

"Nothing, I was just-" right before he could even finish his sentence, Woohyun suddenly felt a strong force that made him hold his chest. The action immediately made Sungjae and Lay run to his side.

"Woohyun, are you okay? What's happening?" Sungjae asked, patting Woohyun's back to ease him. Woohyun took a deep breath and tried his best to calm himself down. He didn't exactly know where that strong force came from, but he knows why he felt it.

"They're getting closer," Woohyun stated. And those words alone made Lay and Sungjae tense up.

Woohyun sat properly, took a bite of his chocolate, and wore his headphones back on so he could get himself ready. Woohyun is the starting mark of this whole operation. He's the one who's going to officially start the war, so he has to concentrate and focus as hard as he could.

Lay and Sungjae stepped aside to give him space. Woohyun took a deep breath and finally closed his eyes as his feathered wings appeared behind him. Even with his eyes closed, the light coming from it could still be seen. Woohyun went ten minutes into the future. When he got there, he advanced to another ten minutes, and another, putting him 30 minutes ahead of time.

This was how Woohyun's training went. Woohyun can look through the future, but it drains too much of his energy. If it's too far, he might not be able to use his power for an entire day, or worse, even an entire week. So Woohyun can only go as far as ten minutes. But thanks to Taeil's suggestion, he was able to crack the code. He looks ten minutes into the future. When he's in that state, he does it again, and again, making it 30 minutes in total. That's the maximum time that he could go, but that's already a big help for everyone.

"The demonic marks are on fire," Woohyun was narrating as he tried to navigate his vision of the future.

"One by one, ghouls and other creatures are coming out of them. A lot of ghouls are appearing in the mark where Junhyung's team is placed," Woohyun continued to tell them, and Sungjae immediately transformed into his angelic form as well and started sending mental messages to all of the sons.

"Ghouls will be arriving at Junhyung's area in about thirty minutes. I repeat, ghouls will be arriving at Junhyung's area in about thirty minutes" Sungjae messaged everyone without opening his mouth. Even Lay heard it.

"A lot of large monsters are coming on mark one to six, all those demonic marks are near the university where Jiyong and the others are. There are dozens of them," Woohyun explained next as Sungjae continued to warn the sons about it. At this point, Lay was starting to get cold sweats.

"The Ravens and the other human are able to fight back, but a lot will be injured on the first wave, specifically at demonic mark 9 where Kai and Tamo are stationed," Woohyun explained, immediately making Sungjae warn to two, which is an easier task since they're humans. Lay was nervous, but he also readied himself thanks to that small information.

Woohyun continued to look around the vision. But when he tried to go inside HAU, an immense power blocked him. Woohyun's vision started to get covered in black smoke, and suddenly, an immense power pushed him away, suddenly making Woohyun fall off the chair that he was sitting on.

Lay and Sungjae immediately helped him as Woohyun opened his eyes to catch his breath. Without thinking about it, Lay held Woohyun's forehead with his thumb. His thumb starts lighting up, and Woohyun went back to normal.

Woohyun was already sweating like crazy. Sungjae and Lay were about to ask them about what he saw, but Woohyun immediately told them, "Our guardians were right. I won't be able to look through the king's future."

"You saw him?" Sungjae asked with shock in his face.

Woohyun took a deep breath and answered him, "I could barely even get inside HAU."

"Well if that's the case, avoid that place as much as you can," Lay instructed as he helped Woohyun go back to his seat. Woohyun, who saw the chaos that was about to happen, gulped and looked back at his brothers with a serious expression.

"Message everyone and get ready. The war begins now.."
