SDS3 37: THE FINAL PLAN
"AS WE ALL KNOW, the gates of hell will open at exactly 3 o'clock AM, also known as the devil hour. That's the only time the king and the other creatures that he'll be bringing will be able to go out. This also means the chains that are bounding the Rulers won't be as strong as it was when the king is present," Kharon explained to the sons who were are sitting at the dining room while Tamo and the others are at the meeting room. Dongmin was also with them. He was sitting in the middle while Kharon sat adjacent to him.
"Who will enter hell then?" Junhyung asked the guardians.
"We need someone strong to fight the demonic creatures who stayed in hell, but it can't be Jiyong since we need him at the battleground where the king will be," Dongmin explained. So Jackson lifted his hand and volunteered, "Then I'll go. I've been there already when I took Nightmare, so I'll release our Father."
Everyone looked at each other with worry, but they knew that Jackson was right. He was the only one who was capable of doing this mission.
"Then that's settled. Jackson will enter hell as soon as the King heads out of the gate," Kharon stated, then Sungjae looked back and him and said, "Speaking of Nightmare, how about Pandora and the seven evil emotions? It would be of great help if they join us in battle."
"That's right," Minhyuk added, and Kharon scratched his chin and considered it.
"I haven't heard of the Emotions ever since Pain and Panic went back to hell. But with Nightmare now with them, I'm guessing they're able to at least gather the other emotions that the king locked up. But I'm not quite sure about Pandora though," Kharon explained.
"Then I'll join Jackson. While he rescues our Fathers, I'll search for the Emotions," Minhyuk suggested.
"That's a great idea. The two can help distract each other so that they won't be easily cornered," Sunggyu said back. Before, he'd be anxious and talk his brothers out of this dangerous idea, but now that he's healing, he knew his priorities as the leader, and that's to make sure they succeed and win the war, not hide from it.
"So how are we going to do it?" Jackson asked.
Kharon snapped his fingers, and fire suddenly appeared in the middle of the table, making the sons move away from it. But when the fire dispersed, an old burnt paper appeared. It was a map of hell.
"You had that all this time?!" Hyunseung asked, grabbing the map from the table and scanning it.
"When I was locked in hell, I was able to make that. Of course, it's not detailed, but it's enough for Jackson and Minhyuk to have an idea on where to go to," Kharon explained.
Jackson and Minhyuk stood up from their seats and started scanning the map. While they were looking at it, Jiyong suggested, "If you're going to rescue our Fathers, it's best if you do it by random. Of course, the realm of lust would be easier, but if you do the realms by order, the demons who are guarding the next realm with be ready."
Everyone looked at the prince of pride and agreed to his suggestion.
"Rescue my Father first, then do the rest at random," Hyunseung stated while pointing at the realm of Lust, "He's the least guarded and chained so I'm guessing he's strong enough to fight alongside you. If you help him escape, I'm sure he'll help rescue the other Rulers."
"And how about the Emotions?" Minhyuk asked.
"That will be the tricky part. We don't know where the other Emotions are locked up. And if they aren't locked up anymore, we still don't know where they'll be hiding," Dongmin stated.
"How about we look for their guardian, Grim Reaper?" Mark then asked, and everyone looked back at the angel and remembered that the Emotions actually do have a guardian.
"Why haven't I thought of that? Grim is probably in his area where he's safest. That's near the gate. He has his own ghouls that protect him since he's an Elder. If you can find him first, you'll know where the other Emotions are," Kharon stated while leaning over to point at an area on the map.
"Alright, then what's next?" Hyunseung then asked, handing the map to Jackson so he and Minhyuk could plan something out later.
When everyone got back to their proper seats, Kharon continued, "Now we battle the king and hope we defeat him. Simple as that," he stated, but everyone knew that this war wasn't going to be any near simple.
"We all know that the war will be on November 1, which is four weeks from now. We'll have to prepare by then, but where exactly will it take place?" Seunghyun asked since it's obvious it won't be in hell.
Dongmin and Kharon looked at each other before looking back at the sons.
"Here," Dongmin revealed, leaving everyone speechless.
"H-Here? You mean in Seoul? With all these people?" Woohyun asked in disbelief, and Kharon nodded his head to confirm it.
"We've been seeing demonic marks around the city. Those are portals that the servitors and minor lords can come out of as soon as the gate of hell opens. There's no other place that has those marks. We also confirmed it with Kenji in Japan, and the other demons that I know around the world," Kharon explained, actually surprising them that he knows other demons instead of the marks that he just mentioned.
"So let's just stop time. You and Jihoon could do it," Jiyong stated.
"That's the initial plan, but stopping time doesn't mean they'll be safe," Dongmin reminded them, and the sons started to look worried.
"Then let's make them evacuate," someone stated, and everyone looked at the entrance of the dining room and saw Taeil – their master planner – with Tamo and the others.
"You guys finished discussing your plans with the Ravens?" Sunggyu asked, and Suho approached them with an okay sign. Taeil, Jihoon, Lay, and Suho went back to their respective seats while Tamo and Kai stood on the side, listening to what the Arcs and Demons were planning in silence.
"And how do you plan to evacuate millions of people smarty pants?" Woohyun asked, and Taeil smirked and looked at everyone with confidence, "We create chaos."
Everyone was obviously surprised at the suggestion, so they remained quiet and waited for Taeil to explain it further.
"A week before the war, the angels can make a great typhoon around the city and the surrounding cities. Or at least make them see that a great typhoon is arriving in November so they'd have enough time to evacuate. Of course, not everyone will leave, but at least the population would reduce, and Kharon and Jihoon can stop time and contain those who stayed," Taeil explained, and the sons couldn't help but be impressed by the idea.
"That could actually work," Kharon stated.
"But is it possible?" Junhyung asked their guardian.
"With three weeks of preparation, I think it is. I'll coordinate with the angels in heaven. Since the Archangels also confirmed that they'll be joining the war, then I'll ask if the guardian angels can help out with evacuating the people," Dongmin explained, and the sons started smiling, excited since their plan was slowly unfolding.
"Now that that's settled, let's talk about the battle," Suho suggested.
"Where will the King appear?" Jackson immediately asked. Dongmin snapped his finger, and this time, a large map of Seoul appeared in the middle of the table, surprising the sons.
"We saw a large demonic mark at HAU, It's in the middle of the soccer field where you had your first battle. We believe that the king will appear there since that demonic mark is a summoning spell that is strong enough to summon powerful demons like the king," Kharon explained, and the sons practically sighed in frustration.
"We started in HAU, we'll end it in HAU. Isn't that great?" Sunggyu sarcastically stated.
"So do we all just wait for him there?" Sungjae then asked.
"No. There are at least twelve marks surrounding the entire city of Seoul. We'll have to evenly divide you guys, the Archangels, the other angels who will help us, the Ravens, and the Rulers and Emotions who Jackson and Minhyuk will hopefully be able to rescue before the battle gets too tough on us," Dongmin explained.
"So how are we going to divide each other?" Jiyong asked, suddenly looking excited.
"You'll definitely stay at HAU since you're the strongest of us all," Taeil stated, and then Seunghyun suddenly raised his hand and said, "I wish to join him."
Everyone looked at Seunghyun with shock. Not because he was willing to face the King of Hell with Jiyong, but because he wanted to fight beside Jiyong. The two haven't exactly battle together before so the pairing was unusual.
"Seunghyun is our best fighter. I think it is only right if he battles alongside Jiyong," Junhyung stated, supporting his brother's wish.
Dongmin took a deep breath but nodded his head anyway, "Alright, Jiyong and Seunghyun will be stationed at the university. The king will definitely place the ghouls and the other demonic creatures around the city, but he'll definitely place a few ones beside him."
"Then Dongmin and I will join you so you could concentrate on the king," Kharon stated, and Dongmin nodded his head and agreed to it.
"Don't forget, our pets are guardians too. We'll bring them with us in battle," Jiyong added.
"Remember, the two of you are only there to weaken the king while everyone else handles the other creatures that will come out on the twelve marks. So while that's happening, you have to endure while you wait for everyone to arrive," Kharon stated, and Seunghyun and Jiyong nodded his head in understanding.
"Now how do we divide each other?" Junhyung then asked.
"We need those whose powers are compatible with each other. I don't think not every one of us knows of our powers, so it would be great if you guys can run it down for us." Kharon stated while looking at the Arcs so they could go first.
Junhyung, as the leader, looked at the Demons and started sharing the Arcs' abilities, "As you all know, all of us have lightning which can help with the ghouls. Our blessed weapons also come from the silver ring that we're wearing. You usually see us with swords, but our ring helps us summon any weapon of our choosing, like arrows, shields, and even guns." Junhyung explained while showing the ring on his right index finger.
"As for individual powers, most of our powers can only be activated by the permission of our Fathers. Mine is Necrokinesis, also known as anti-healing. I can cause instant death on lower life forms, but I can only weaken those who are ranked higher," Junhyung shared, surprising the Demons (except for Hyunseung who had already heard of it before).
"That's fucking dope, I'll tell you that," Suho commented, and Sungjae went on next.
"As you may know, I have the power to brainwash someone, make someone fall asleep, and even read other's minds. It's not really very useful for combat, that's why I said I'll protect Minhyuk instead of battling with you guys during the time the lords attacked and possessed everyone since my powers won't be much of use," Sungjae explained like he was degrading himself, when in fact, his powers were already outstanding in itself.
"That's pretty cool too," Minhyuk said with a grin, and that alone made Sungjae shyly smile.
"Anyway..." Sunggyu said before clearing his throat, "I can think we can use that. What do you think Taeil?" he asked while looking at their master planner.
Taeil stared at Sungjae before instantly coming up with a plan, "Since time will stop, I don't think earpieces can be of use to us. We can place Sungjae above ground, or maybe even place marks on our own so he could teleport on different locations. Since your power is mostly mental, you can send us messages on what's happening with the others. Dongmin taught us the power of invisibility before so maybe that could help too," Taeil explained, and everyone was left dumbfounded.
"Taeil, you're a fucking genius!" Woohyun commented with an impressed look, making Taeil grin proudly.
"I haven't tried sending mental messages yet so I'll have to train more first, but I think I can do it," Sungjae stated, and everyone looked back at the angel with encouragement. Minhyuk even patted his back.
"Alright, now it's my turn. Like Sungjae, my powers aren't great for combat, but I have healing abilities and resurrection, which will be very helpful during the battle," Lay explained.
"You can join Sungjae and heal those who are injured," Seunghyun stated.
"You should also practice mass healing. You can mostly heal one at a time, but if you practice for the remaining month that we have before the war, maybe you can heal ten to even a hundred at a time," Dongmin told the angel, and Lay nodded his head, determined to do just that.
Everyone then looked at Jihoon right after, "I have Temporal Stasis, which you already know is the ability to stop time, and I also have the ability to see through mirrors like Taeil. But like Junhyung, I have a power that can only be used with the permission of our father, and that's Chronokinesis. It's the ability to manipulate time. It's actually very similar to Hope's power," Jihoon explained, and like before, the Demons were surprised to hear about the angel's amazing power.
"I have Premonition, which is the ability to see the past, present, and future. Of course for the future, I can only go so far. Maybe even just 10 minutes in the future. It drains too much of my energy if I look beyond that," Woohyun explained next.
"I think the King can counter that, so it would be useless to use it on him," Kharon commented.
"But can't it be used for something else? Woohyun can use his power to anticipate upcoming ghouls and monsters and warn us about it. He said he can only see 10 minutes into the future, so if he continuously uses his power, then the future vision would also be continuous, and Woohyun could give us a clear vision of what would happen," Minhyuk suggested, and everyone, even Taeil who was their master planner, looked at the prince of gluttony with shock. Looks like they forgot that Minhyuk is also one of their smartest brothers.
"Then he'll be added to Lay and Sungjae's team. Woohyun can look through the future and tell it to Sungjae so he could mentally warn us," Junhyung stated, and Woohyun and Sungjae nodded their heads in agreement.
"Now for Mark," Dongmin stated, and everyone looked at Mark next.
"Well, as you all know, I have the ability to paralyze someone. But like Junhyung and Jihoon, I have a power that can only be used with the Fathers' permission, and that's Petrification, which is the ability to turn someone, or something, into stone," Mark explained. And like the previous reaction, the sons were surprised by it.
"Now for my power. It's similar to Junhyung, but you can say it's more powerful than his," Seunghyun stated with a teasing grin, making Junhyung roll his eyes in annoyance. While everyone was looking at Seunghyun, he continued, "It's called Touch of Death. I can only use it thrice in my entire lifetime. I can kill even the strongest demonic creature, but I don't think it's enough to kill the king of hell. But I already discussed this with Jiyong, and I'm planning to use it to weaken the king instead," Seunghyun explained to everyone.
"So you already planned on teaming up huh?" Sunggyu teased, making Jiyong step on the leader's foot.
"Alright, so that's all of it. We already know the Demons' power, so now we know how to divide each other," Hyunseung stated. But then Jiyong looked at the Arcs and said, "But didn't you guys say that you could only use those powers with the permissions of your fathers? Then how will that work? Do you simply ask permission?"
The Demons nodded their head, agreeing to the problem that their strongest just raised.
The Arcs' leader was about to answer, but then Dongmin stood up from his seat and said, "You princes weren't full demons before too, but now you have demonic forms, and even have the ability to use your demonic powers."
"Wait, are you saying..." Mark paused and looked at their guardian with disbelief.
Dongmin looked at the Arcs one by one. And with a proud smile, he stated, "Arcs...it's time you become full-fledged angels."
