SDS3 35: SECOND PT.2
SUHO & LAY
"YIXING! I FORGOT TO bring it!" Suho shouted while scavenging his luggage. He was throwing his clothes out of his suitcase while Lay continued on picking them up and placing it on the bed.
"What did you forget exactly?" Lay asked, and Suho stopped what he was doing to look back at his lover with a serious expression, "The condoms."
The moment Lay heard Suho's answer, he immediately took all the clothes that he picked up and threw it back at Suho, causing Suho to laugh like there was no tomorrow. After composing himself, Suho shoved his clothes back inside his suitcase and stood from the floor to stand in front of Lay. He held him by the shoulder and kissed his forehead gently before saying, "I think Junhyung and Hyunseung has an extra."
Lay immediately pushed Suho away in annoyance and headed to the balcony.
"Hey, I was just joking," Suho defended, following behind his pissed-off lover.
"Are you even the prince of greed or are you actually the prince of lust? All you think about is sex Joon. Sometimes I wonder to myself if the only reason why you're with me is because of that," Lay says with a sad expression, and Suho finally became serious.
Suho looked back at Lay, ready to explain that what he's thinking isn't true, but Suho took a deep breath and looked at the view in front of them instead, "You're beautiful."
Lay was surprised by the statement, but before he could even ask why Suho was suddenly telling him that, Suho continued, "I want to touch you, and feel you, and make every inch of you mine. But my greediness makes you doubt my sincerity for you. I shouldn't have made you feel like that. This is my fault."
"No, I didn't mean to-"
"And before you tell me otherwise, then I'll declare it now," Suho stated, finally looking back at Lay who was looking at him too, "I won't have sex with you for three days."
"What?" Lay asked, dumbfounded.
"I won't have sex with you...but I'll shower you with my love in many different ways that you'd feel like you'd drown in them," Suho told him with a determined look.
Lay was left speechless. But after processing what Suho just told him, his face suddenly turned red. For some reason, that was the sweetest thing Suho had ever told him ever since they became lovers.
"You're an idiot," Lay said, draping his arms around Suho's neck and pulling him close for a hug, "But I love you."
"I know," Suho said back, kissing Lay's forehead again.
When they pulled away from the hug, Lay looked back at the view in front of them, and Suho did the same. They had a perfect view of the waterfall, and on that waterfall, he saw Jiyong and Seunghyun swimming together.
"I heard from Seunghyun about what happened during Jiyong's exorcism," Lay stated, and Suho didn't say anything about it. He wanted to know what his lover thought about his supposed brave act.
"You were willing to die and give your own heart for Jiyong. When I heard about that I thought..." Lay paused and took a deep breath before proceeding, "my boyfriend really is amazing, isn't he?"
Suho's eyes widened from Lay's sweet words, but he continued not to say anything as he draped his arm around his lover. Lay smiled and rested his head on Suho's shoulder, and the two continued to watch the waterfall in silence.
TAEIL & JIHOON
"Taeil, do we really have to do this?" Jihoon asked as he followed behind Taeil who had a notebook on his hand. Not like the others, Taeil and Jihoon were exploring the jungle thanks to Taeil's request. There were dozens of fruit trees in Ophanim that Taeil doesn't even know, so it's only natural that he'd study them.
"I'm starting to doubt if Minhyuk's really the smart one or if it's actually you," Jihoon stated, squatting at a large rock while staring at Taeil who was writing something down on his notes.
Taeil took a blue fruit from a tree that somehow resembled an apple. While staring at the unknown fruit, Taeil answered, "Minhyuk is book smart. While I'm simply just a genius."
Jihoon snorted from Taeil's comment, making Taeil glare at him.
"Is that why you suddenly became such a tech-wizard? I never really knew you'd be able to hack systems like that," Jihoon stated, and Taeil shoved the fruit inside his bag and looked back at the angel, "I read dozens of books about hacking before we started our mission on killing the seven Sinners. I guess I started from there and just got better as I go."
"And you said Minhyuk's book smart," Jihoon whispered to himself before standing from the large rock that he was on.
Taeil proceeded to the next tree that had grape-like fruits in it. The weird thing is that its bigger than regular grapes.
"Seriously, are we in a different planet?" Jihoon stated as he stood beside Taeil who continued writing down notes on his notebook.
"Well, this is Ophanim. I'm getting some samples of these fruits to see if we can use it for the upcoming war," Taeil answered without removing his eyes on his notebook.
"Don't tell me you're going to eat all that," Jihoon stated with a worried tone.
"Who knows," Taeil simply answered, making Jihoon sigh. This wasn't how Jihoon imagined this vacation would be. Of course, he's willing to follow Taeil around and help him with his research, but they were here for a break, and Taeil wasn't exactly doing that.
"At least pay attention to me," Jihoon thought to himself, but he didn't dare say it. Instead, he turned around and moved away from Taeil so he wouldn't bother him anymore.
Taeil stopped writing when he noticed that Jihoon became quiet. He looked back at him and saw Jihoon kicking pebbles like a kid. He took a deep breath and finally placed his notebook inside his bag before approaching the bored angel.
"I'm sorry," Taeil suddenly stated, immediately making Jihoon stop doing whatever he was doing. He looked a Taeil and patted him in the head before smiling at him, "It's okay. I'll do anything that you want to do. Don't worry about me."
"N-No...that's not right," Taeil suddenly stated, confusing Jihoon, "You've always been like this. It's always you who has to adjust to whatever I want. I'm not being fair to you at all," Taeil continued to say, surprising Jihoon now.
Jihoon wanted to say something, but Taeil quickly stopped him, "What do you want to do? This time, I'll do whatever you want to do." Taeil stated with a determined look.
Jihoon became speechless, but he smiled and caressed Taeil's cheek, "I told you right? I'll wait for you."
Taeil held Jihoon's hand that was placed on his cheek and told him, "What if I told you that I'm ready. That I don't want you to wait for me anymore."
The statement surprised Jihoon to the point where he lets go of Taeil.
"Taeil, w-what are you saying?" Jihoon asked, his eyes now becoming teary as his heart starts beating faster than normal.
Taeil, who looked like he was about to cry too, grabbed hold of both of Jihoon's hands and said, "Yes."
A tear finally fell from Jihoon's eye. Jihoon had the power to stop time, but hearing Taeil say that single word made everything stop for him.
"You asked me before that after everything, you want us to get married right? Then that's my answer," Taeil stated, and Jihoon's shocked expression made Taeil chuckle.
"This is the part where you say something back Pyo Jihoon," Taeil teased, but tears were also falling from his eyes now too. Jihoon laughed and wiped his tears before wiping Taeil's, "How did we end up with this conversation? Just a few moments ago you were writing notes about weird fruits."
Taeil laughed and hugged Jihoon tightly, "I had to say it eventually right?"
"I love you Taeil," Jihoon said instead.
Taeil pulled away from the hug and looked straight at Jihoon's eyes, "I love you too," he whispered, and those words made Jihoon cry again.
"You have no idea how long I've waited for you to say that," Jihoon honestly told him, and it was Taeil's turn to wipe Jihoon's tears away. But before Jihoon could say anything else, Taeil tiptoed so he could reach Jihoon for a kiss. Jihoon's eyes widened when he felt Taeil's lips on his. The two of them never really kissed. The closest they had was a peck, and that was the same day Jihoon asked Taeil to marry him.
Taeil continued to press his lips on Jihoon. But when Jihoon was finally able to compose himself, he grabbed Taeil and kissed him deeper. After a few seconds, the two lovers pulled away from each other to catch their breath. Then Jihoon pressed his forehead on Taeil, and both of them laughed.
"You have no idea how long I've waited for you to kiss me like that," Taeil stated, and Jihoon leaned close and kissed him again.
"Don't worry, there's plenty of new chances for us to do that now."
SUNNGYU & WOOHYUN
Sunggyu went out of his room to head to where Jiyong was. As soon as he closed the door, the door of the room that's adjacent to his room opened, revealing Woohyun who was also heading out.
"Hey," Woohyun stated when he saw Sunggyu.
"Hey," Sunggyu simply said back before walking away.
Woohyun didn't say anything and followed beside the Demons' leader. Sunggyu wanted to ignore him, but when they got out of the penthouse, Sunggyu finally stopped walking as he looked back at Woohyun with an annoyed expression, "Why the hell are you following me?"
"I'm not. You're heading to the falls too right?" Woohyun answered, and Sunggyu sighed and scratched the back of his head before walking away. Woohyun grinned and followed beside Sunggyu again, but Sunggyu didn't say anything anymore.
"So, how you holding up?" Woohyun asked while the two were walking.
Sunggyu was surprised about the sudden question, but then he remembered that Woohyun might be the only person who understands his real feelings, especially when Woohyun saw it himself back in Beijing.
"I'm still anxious, but seeing Jiyong eases me a bit. I think I'll always be restless, but at least it's not as bad as before," Sunggyu honestly answered, which surprised Woohyun because he never thought that Sunggyu would even answer him.
"I'm glad you feel that way. What happened in the past can never be forgotten since you all felt the pain of losing a brother. But at least now you can say that you conquered something that's almost impossible. That alone shows how strong you guys are," Woohyun stated. Then he laughed at himself, making Sunggyu glance at him.
"What's so funny?" Sunggyu asked.
"I just remembered the time you grabbed a ghoul's breast back at that club in Beijing," Woohyun suddenly shared, immediately making Sunggyu look at him angrily.
"Why the hell did you suddenly remember that? We were just talking about something serious," Sunggyu stated, making Woohyun laugh again.
"I don't know. Every time I see you, I just remember that." Woohyun stated, almost crying because of how hard he was laughing.
Sunggyu stopped walking and finally faced Woohyun. Woohyun's laughter slowly dies down as Sunggyu continued to stare at him. When he finally stopped laughing, he got ready to get scolded by the scary leader. But to his surprise, Sunggyu suddenly started laughing himself, which left Woohyun flustered.
"I don't know if you're being sarcastic, or if you really found that funny too," Woohyun said with a confused expression.
When Sunggyu finally stopped laughing himself, he grabbed hold of Woohyun's left shoulder and said, "Don't worry, it was funny."
Woohyun sighed in relief, "Whoa, for a second there I thought you got mad."
Sunggyu smiled at Woohyun, but his hold on the angel's shoulder got tighter, making Woohyun's body stiffen, "But if you ever tell anyone about that, I will kill you before the king of hell could even lay a hand on you. Do you understand that, stupid angel?" Sunggyu threatened with a menacing smile, making Woohyun gulp and nod his head in agreement.
"Good," Sunggyu finished, letting go of Woohyun's hand and walking away again.
Woohyun took a deep breath and followed Sunggyu. When he was able to catch up with him, Sunggyu placed his hand inside his pocket and suddenly told him, "I'm glad I was partnered with you during the Beijing mission. We worked as a team, and if it weren't for you I wouldn't have been able to succeed, so thank you."
Woohyun was surprised at Sunggyu's sudden appreciation of him, but he didn't say anything about it and smiled instead.
"Hey, how about we head back to the penthouse instead and let Jiyong have his fun with Seunghyun. There's a bar area there, and it would be nice if we could have a few drinks." Woohyun asked Sunggyu, making Sunggyu look at him.
"Are you hitting on me?" Sunggyu asked with his right eyebrow raised.
"Why? Are you hittable?" Woohyun asked back.
Sunggyu stopped walking again and faced Woohyun, startling the angel Woohyun was smaller than him, so when Sunggyu got closer, he easily towered him. Woohyun took a step back and gulped, but the mischievous demon grabbed hold of his collar and leaned his face so close Woohyun closed his eyes out of instincts.
Sunggyu smirked at Woohyun's reaction.
"Let me see you try," Sunggyu whispered in Woohyun's ear, sending chills on Woohyun's spine. As soon as Sunggyu let's go of his collar, Woohyun opened his eyes back and saw Sunggyu walking away from him.
"Where are you going? The waterfall is this way." Woohyun stated while pointing at the opposite direction that Sunggyu was heading to.
"Didn't you say we'd grab a drink? Stupid angel," Sunggyu stated without looking back at Woohyun.
Woohyun's eyes widened from surprise, but then he smiled and followed the leader back to the penthouse, hoping he'd be able to learn more about the Prince of Wrath.
JACKSON & MARK
"What are you doing?" Jackson asked when he saw his lover in the kitchen with the other maids and butlers, AKA their temporary angel guardians.
Mark, who was cutting onions, looked back at Jackson with teary eyes. Mark smiled, and Jackson approached him and took out a handkerchief to wipe the tears away for him. Mark thanked him by giving Jackson a quick kiss, which made the four angels who were also at the kitchen, smile at the two lovers.
"You seem like an old couple already," the head maid commented, and Jackson took the apron on the counter and wore it too so he and Mark could wear the same thing.
"We're just comfortable with each other," Jackson answered, and Mark took the apron from the demon's hand and helped him wear it.
"You're quite different from master Lay and Suho. When we took care of them back in Jeju, they were a bit-" Jackson cuts the butler off and continued for him, "Awkward?" he asked, and the angels giggled.
"Those two are like a teenage couple. It's actually very sweet and refreshing," Mark stated, going back to his cutting board so he could continue cutting the onions. Jackson then asked the angels if he could do anything to help as well, so one of the maids gave him a potato to peel.
"Should we act like a teenage couple too?" Jackson suggested with a serious expression before taking a peeler to peel the potato.
Mark laughed and wiped the tears in his eyes with the back of his hand before answering Jackson, "I don't want you acting and saying cringey stuff to me Wang Jackson. I already like your seriousness. It's kinda hot."
"Oh yeah?" Jackson asked back, leaning close to Mark so he could give him a kiss on the lips. But then one of the butlers who were frying something cleared his throat, immediately making Jackson pull away from Mark. The angels laughed, and Mark and Jackson continued on with their duties.
While everyone was busy, Jackson - who was peeling the potato with full concentration - suddenly said, "We should practice cooking dishes like this. My mom always did the work at home, but I want to try making something simple at least. It would be bothersome if we can't do this when we start having kids"
Everyone in the kitchen became silent, so Jackson looked back at everyone and innocently asked, "What?"
Mark, who also stopped cutting the onions, suddenly felt his face turning red. Jackson just dropped the kids bomb like it was nothing, so Mark was left speechless. The maids and butlers looked at each other and sent each other some sort of signal.
"W-We'll...prepare the table at the dining room and come back later," the head maid stated, and the four angels immediately left the two lovebirds alone. When they were gone, Mark covered his flustered face and stated, "H-How could you say something like that so openly?"
"What do you mean? Do you not want kids?" Jackson asked, still confused about Mark's reaction.
Mark was still blushing from ear to ear, so Jackson approached him and gently held his cheek, "Do you not want to be with me forever?" Jackson suddenly asked, and Mark bit his lip and immediately grabbed Jackson for a hug.
"Of course I want to be with you forever! I want to get married, have kids, and grow old with you. I'll do everything for you Jackson," Mark revealed, making Jackson chuckle.
"And you said you don't want me saying cringey stuff to you," Jackson managed to say. And when Mark pulled away from the hug, Jackson leaned close to his lover and gave him a long passionate kiss.
"Should we leave?" Someone suddenly asked, making the two stop kissing. Mark and Jackson looked at the doorframe and saw Woohyun and Sunggyu. Mark was flustered, but Jackson looked back at the two with a calm expression, "May we help you?"
"We're going to the bar area to get a drink, wanna come?" Sunggyu asked with his arms crossed.
"We're fine here. We don't want to ruin your...intimate moment together," Jackson teased, immediately making Woohyun feel shy. But Sunggyu smirked and draped his arm around the angel's shoulder and said, "You know me so well brother."
"Knock yourself out," Jackson continued to tease, and the two finally left the kitchen.
"What was that about?" Mark asked, and Jackson gave him a quick peck instead before saying, "Let's just continue what we were doing and practice cooking, shall we?"
Marked smiled and went back to his cutting board, "For our future kids, right?"
JIYONG & SEUNGHYUN
Jiyong got out of the river and sat on a large rock to rest. He was panting heavily since he still wasn't used to moving around, but he tries to hide that fact from his brothers since he didn't want them to worry about him anymore.
"You want some water? I can get you some," Seunghyun stated as he approached the demon.
Jiyong cleared his throat and steadied his breathing so Seunghyun wouldn't notice him panting like he was seconds away from dying again.
"I'm fine," Jiyong tried to say.
Seunghyun sat a meter away from Jiyong. While looking at the waterfall in front of them, he stated, "I've been following you around that I was able to notice how you're still too weak to even walk down the stairs. But you don't have to worry, I won't tell your brothers. I understand why you want to keep it a secret."
"Well, it's not easy being dead for eight months," Jiyong honestly stated, which was a big surprise for Seunghyun since he knows about Jiyong's prideful nature.
"But the fact that I am the strongest son will never change. That is why I have to prepare my body for the battle before the war with the king. I still have to settle a score with that bastard," Jiyong stated while gripping his fist.
"Are you planning to grab his heart too?" Seunghyun sarcastically asked, but Jiyong didn't find it insulting as he chuckled upon hearing the suggestion.
"If I can, why not? But I'm planning to deliver the final blow on the king. It's already stated that we cannot entirely kill him, but I want to be the last person he sees before we lock him up," Jiyong explained before taking a pebble and throwing it so it could skip at the surface of the river.
Seunghyun watched the pebble sink before asking, "Does your brothers know about that plan of yours?"
The prince of pride didn't answer, but Seunghyun already knew what it was.
"I know this isn't my place to say, but as your bodyguard, I just want to warn you that you shouldn't think irrationally," Seunghyun stated, making Jiyong chuckle.
"Don't worry, I already died, so I'm the last person you should say that to," Jiyong stated.
The two became quiet again. They listen to the water falling in silence. Jiyong closed his eyes and inhaled deeply. He was alive, and that was a state that he never thought he'd be able to be in again.
During the time that he was dead, he was just floating in a dark abyss. He didn't know what would happen to him, but he somehow knew that his brothers were going to do something to bring him back. So while he waited, he meditated for months. He focused all his energy in honing his powers, thinking of different ways on how to master it. Jiyong was able to maximize his demonic potential, and he was ready to fight the king. What he didn't expect though was his body. He prepared his mind, but his body wasn't ready, and that pissed him off.
"If this three-day vacation doesn't make me stronger then I'm going to stay here for a week," Jiyong stated before opening his eyes back.
"Staying for an entire day here in Ophanim is equal to an hour back on earth. But as much as that sounds great, an hour wasted is-"
"An hour well spent by the king. I know. We're lucky to even be given three days." Jiyong stated, and the two became quiet again. After a few more minutes of silence, Jiyong finally stood up from the rock that he was sitting on. He stretched his arms and looked at the sky before saying in confidence, "I can't wait to defeat that fucking devil."
Seunghyun didn't stand but stared at Jiyong's back instead.
"Hey, Kwon Jiyong," he called out, but Jiyong ignored him. But even though he didn't say anything, Seunghyun knew that he was listening to him.
"I was given a power from my Father, Samuel. It's called the touch of death. I can only use it three times in my entire lifetime. Though it might not be powerful enough to kill the king of hell, but it might be enough to weaken him before you could deliver your final blow," Seunghyun suddenly explained.
Jiyong's eyes widened as he slowly turned around to face the angel, "Why are you saying this?"
Seunghyun finally stood up and faced Jiyong with a serious expression, "Your plan..." he declared, "Let me help you fulfill it."
