SDS3 34: SECOND PT.1

THE ARCS AND THE Demons were at the meeting room getting ready to conduct a plan for the upcoming war with the King of Hell. Everyone wanted Jiyong to rest, but the prideful demon insisted that they shouldn't waste any more time and start making a plan now.

"You literally met someone named Pain and Panic?" Jiyong asked curiously.

"And Hope and Nightmare too. They're part of Pandora's emotions," Minhyuk explained, making Jiyong massage his head in confusion.

"They're real people?" He continued to ask.

"Emotions, not people," Sungjae corrected, and Jiyong just wanted to slap himself because of how confused he was.

The sons gave Jiyong a recap of everything that happened when he was still dead, and all that information only confused Jiyong. But even though it was confusing, Jiyong had to know all these things just in case something happened.

"By the way, Kai and Tamo sent you a fruit basket. It's downstairs, and they said they'll visit as soon as they can to personally welcome you back," Suho suddenly told his brother, and then Jiyong asked Suho to thank them for him.

While they were talking about their two friends in Japan, Taeil suddenly realized something so obvious.

"That's right! We have Kai and Tamo!" Taeil practically shouted, making everyone look at him with confused expressions. Taeil stood up from his seat and looked back at the demons and angels in front of him, "Tamo is the CEO of Ravens. Ravens is a big agency that has thousands of people who are good at fighting."

"Are you saying you want humans to fight demons for us?" Junhyung asked, and Taeil nodded his head to confirm it.

"Are you crazy?" Seunghyun immediately commented.

"Come on, let's look at it this way. Tamo changed the principles of his agency because of us. They don't capture angels and demons anymore, but instead, they protect them. Wouldn't it be their greatest honor if they're able to fight alongside us?"

"Taeil has a point. They can be our front liners. Remember what Kharon told us? Ghouls are weak enough for humans to be able to kill them," Sunggyu added, supporting his brother's idea.

"If that's the case then I'll inform Kai and Tamo about this. I'll ask if he's willing to sacrifice his men for this because even if they can kill ghouls, a lot will definitely die from this war," Suho explained, and everyone nodded in agreement.

While everyone was making further plans, Kharon – the Demons' guardian – suddenly barged inside the meeting room with a worried expression, making everyone look at him with equal worry.

"What's going on?" Sunggyu immediately asked.

"Please don't tell me a hoard of ghouls are outside the Holy Home again," Lay added.

Kharon looked at the angels and demons one by one and showed them an envelope, "This just came. It's a letter to all of you." He said as he threw the envelope on the table.

Junhyung took the envelope and saw what was written on the back of it: For the Demons & Arcs.

Sunggyu stood up from his seat and stood behind Junhyung.

"Who sent it?" Sunggyu asked as Junhyung opened the envelope. Inside the envelope was a letter from...

"Father Michael?" Sunggyu and Junhyung asked in unison, surprising everyone in the room.

Kharon – who had a worried expression on his face earlier – finally smiled and looked back at the sons, "We can plan for the war later. For now, we want you all to rest before the battle."

"What?" Sunggyu confusingly asked, so Junhyung opened the letter and read it out loud for everyone to hear.

Dear Demons & Arcs,

I saw your battles from heaven, and I want to congratulate you all for your great success, especially the Demons. I know that our decisions aren't always the best, and we know that sacrifices for the greater good will not justify our actions, but you all have chosen to save lives even with your demonic nature, and we cannot thank you enough.

You are not alone in this battle. All the Archangels are getting ready to join you. We were once enemies with them, but we are now willing to fight with the rulers of hell, along with their sons who are more like angels than any angels that we have known.

We have given Peter (Dongmin) instructions for the upcoming war. But for the time being, we would request you all to take a break and relax before the real battle begins. We know how hard you have worked, so the angels and I have decided to give you access to Ophanim, the most secluded place in the universe. A day in Ophanim is only equal to an hour on earth; so resting there for three days will hopefully be enough for you all.

We also hope that you all get to catch up with your reawakened brother, Kwon Jiyong.

This does not equal to the pain and suffering that you demons have endured, but I hope this can help in any way to amend it.

     That is all.

May the God of Heaven be with you and your spirit...

"Archangel Michael," Junhyung finished, and everyone was left speechless.

"You all have worked hard. But for now, let Dongmin and I handle the planning. We'll tell you all the details when you come back from your vacation," Kharon said with a smile.

Everyone got excited about the news, especially when they could finally take a break and catch up with Jiyong. Well, except for a particular angel and demon.

Sungjae looked at Minhyuk, and Minhyuk scratched the back of his head and told everyone, "We don't exactly have great memories in Ophanim."

The Arcs and Demons stopped celebrating and looked at the two worried sons.

"What do you mean?" Hyunseung asked.

"Well, for starters, we got attacked by a large beast and almost died," Sungjae revealed, surprising the sons.

"Your father wants us to take a break...there?" Suho now asked while looking at the Arcs.

While everyone was contemplating on Sungjae and Minhyuk's worry, Dongmin – Arcs' guardian – entered the room and immediately told them, "Don't worry, the Fathers took the liberty to prepare Ophanim before your arrival. Now stop making excuses and get ready. When else will you be able to get an opportunity like this again?"

THE NEXT DAY

AT OPHANIM

Sunggyu emerged out of the mirror from the Holy Home. He looked around and realized that they were in a forest. The Demons' leader was the last to enter, so the mirror disappeared behind them.

The Arcs and Demons were now in Ophanim with bags that contained their essentials for their three-day break, which is conveniently just equal to three hours back on earth.

"I'm still confused by the fact that your fathers want us to take a break..." Taeil paused and moved closer to Jihoon when he heard an animal howling in the distance before continuing his sentence, "Here."

"I told you guys, this is a bad idea. If we don't die during the war, we'll definitely die here," Minhyuk said with a worried expression, making Hyunseung hit him in the head.

"Dongmin already told us that the Archangels prepared this before we arrived, so I'm pretty sure nothing will attack us," Hyunseung explained.

"Are you sure about that?" An unknown voice suddenly asked, making most of them screech.

Jiyong looked at sons and laughed, "Did you all become pussies after I died?" he teased, making Sunggyu glare at him.

While Jiyong continued to laugh, the Arcs and Demons turned and faced the owner of the unknown voice. When they saw who it was, their expressions immediately changed into happiness.

"Hope!" Everyone except for Jiyong shouted in unison.

Hope looked at the sons and smiled at them before looking at Jiyong, "This must be the Prince of Pride." He then bowed in front of him before saying, "It is an honor to finally meet you."

Jiyong stared at Hope from head to toe and asked him, "So you're Nightmare's bitch?"

Jackson immediately hits Jiyong on the head because of his rude question, but Hope only laughed at the remark.

"Pardon our brother. He's been dead for so long he forgot how to act like a normal human being," Sunggyu stated, and Hope continued laughing.

"No worries. I'm just glad everyone is lively," he stated.

"I'm guessing you're our tour guide," Sungjae stated, and Hope finally stopped laughing and nodded his head to answer the angel's assumption.

"Father Phanuel talked to me the other day and told me of your return, so I locked all my pets for the time being," Hope answered, making Sungjae and Minhyuk remember the time they killed one of his pets when they teleported here for the first time.

"Now follow me, everyone. Make sure you have all your things with you." Hope stated before walking away.

Everyone looked at each other before following behind Hope. The Arcs and Demons were wearing vacation clothes and had large backpacks on them. Taeil even had sunscreen on his face. They really looked like they were on vacation.

"By the way, just a friendly reminder, Ophanim is the world that is in between heaven, earth, and hell, which is why you cannot fully use your powers here. Your powers might act strange, so I suggest you don't use them at all," Hope told them, making Minhyuk and Sungjae finally realize why their powers acted funny when they were defeating the beast inside the cave last time.

"No wonder I couldn't use mine properly," Minhyuk stated. But then he also remembered the time he accidentally kissed Sungjae. The thought of it immediately made him stumble again, which caused his brothers to laugh at him.

"You okay big guy?" Suho teased as he draped his arms around Minhyuk, but Minhyuk only pushed him away in annoyance.

"Hey, you okay?" Jihoon then asked when he saw Sungjae's face turning red, but Sungjae didn't say anything and pretended like everything was normal.

Hope brought them to the cave that Minhyuk and Sungjae entered before. But not like the time they got there, no one attacked them so they got to the end of the cave with ease. At the end of the cave was a large door. Hope opened it, and what they saw inside was a paradise that's none like any other. It was even different from what Minhyuk and Sungjae saw before.

"Well everyone, welcome to your temporary home for three days," Hope stated, and everyone opened their mouth from awe as they stare at what was in front of them.

Inside had clear blue skies, a beautiful waterfall, trees with fruits that they can't even name, and a penthouse just a few meters away from the said falls. This was the vacation place that everyone expected.

"That's what I'm talking about!" Jiyong shouted before throwing his things on the floor and running towards the falls.

"Jiyong!" Seunghyun shouted before running behind him. Thanks to their previous discussion, Seunghyun was officially declared as Kwon Jiyong's bodyguard, which was actually a useless title since Jiyong is imaginably powerful, so Seunghyun's just doing it so that his guardian wouldn't scold him.

"And there he goes," Sunggyu said as he watched Jiyong removing his top and jumping inside the river without care.

"I'll show you to your rooms," Hope stated as he continued walking to the penthouse.

Sunggyu sighed and grabbed Jiyong's things on the floor before following Hope with the rest of the Arcs and Demons. When they got inside the penthouse, Lay and Suho were surprised to see the four gate angels who took care of them back at Jeju when the two were on their supposed honeymoon.

"Guys!" Lay and Suho shouted before running to them for a hug.

"Hello, masters. It's nice to see you two again," the angel slash head maid stated while patting Lay and Suho's head.

"Masters, we have prepared seven rooms for all of you upstairs. If you need anything, please let us know," one of the butlers explained.

"Who are they exactly?" Mark whispered to his lover Jackson.

"Let's just pretend that we know them."

"Alright everyone, you know your room buddies. Minhyuk, you can stay with Sungjae now. I'll stay with Jiyong," Sunggyu stated as he walked towards the stairs to put their things inside their room.

Minhyuk immediately chased after their leader and pulled the strap of his bag towards him, "Hey! What do you mean I can stay with Sungjae now?"

"Why? Aren't you guys a thing?" Sunggyu innocently asked, making Minhyuk's face turn red.

"That's what I thought," Sunggyu stated before pushing Minhyuk away and walking upstairs to his room.

"H-How did you even conclude that!" Minhyuk shouted, but it was too late since Sunggyu was already upstairs. So Minhyuk gulped and looked back at Sungjae who was talking to Woohyun.

"I'll stay with Seunghyun, you can stay with Minhyuk," Sungjae persisted, but Woohyun wasn't listening to him anymore.

"I haven't even properly talked to that guy yet. You'll be fine," Woohyun said back, and on queue, Minhyuk approached them with an awkward smile.

"Well, good luck," Woohyun stated before patting Sungjae's back leaving him with the prince of gluttony.

Minhyuk stood in front of Sungjae and cleared his throat, "So...we're roommates," he awkwardly told him.

"Yeah," Sungjae said back while scratching the back of his head to avoid making eye contact.

Everyone was already in their rooms, so Minhyuk just gave up and took Sungjae's things to help him carry them, "let's go." Before Sungjae could even complain, Minhyuk was already walking away from him. Sungjae wanted to say something, but he smiled and followed the awkward demon to their new room instead.

HYUNSEUNG & JUNHYUNG

"This is beautiful!" Hyunseung shouted as he ran towards the balcony to get a better view of the waterfalls. At the waterfalls, he saw Jiyong running away from his bodyguard, Seunghyun. The sight to them made Hyunseung laugh.

Junhyung placed their things on the side and joined his boyfriend. He stood beside him and looked back at Jiyong and Seunghyun as well.

"Do you really think it's a good idea to make Seunghyun his bodyguard?" Hyunseung asked.

"Well, Jiyong requested for him himself. There's nothing we can do about it," Junhyung answered, but the grin on his face made Hyunseung hit his head.

     "You're having fun aren't you?"

Junhyung chuckled and continued to look at his brother Seunghyun, "That guy's a tough fella. He's always quiet and serious. Someone like Jiyong might balance him out a little."

"Well I hope you're right about that," Hyunseung stated, and Junhyung looked back at Hyunseung and caressed his cheek, "Are you happy?" He then asked him.

Hyunseung smiled and kissed Junhyung's hand before giving him an answer, "Very much. Which is why I'm scared that it might all be taken away from me again."

Junhyung moved closer, closing the distance he had with Hyunseung. He then kissed his forehead and told him, "Don't worry, I'll remove and destroy everything that will cause you pain. I'll make sure you never feel unhappy again."

Hyunseung looked straight at Junhyung's eyes and gave him a quick kiss, "I know you will."

Junhyung grabbed Hyunseung and kissed him deeper. Hyunseung draped his arms around his lover as Junhyung carried him to their bed. When Junhyung placed him down, he went on top of Hyunseung and continued kissing him like there was no tomorrow. The demon had to move away just to catch his breath.

     "Slow down," Hyunseung whispered.

Junhyung smirked and licked Hyunseung's lip before sitting up. He removed his shirt and looked down on his loving, grabbing his crotch and gripping on it, causing Hyunseung to unintentionally moan.

"Slow down? Well then, let's make this three-day vacation worth it. Show me everything you've got...my sweet Prince of Lust."

MINHYUK & SUNGJAE

Minhyuk entered their room, Sungjae following right behind him. He gulped when he saw the large bed, but he ignored it as he walked towards the sofa to place their things there.

"I'll sleep here," he stated without looking at Sungjae.

"Nonsense. I can sleep there. I know you're a lot more tired than I am after-" Minhyuk immediately stopped Sungjae and looked back at him with a disappointed expression, "After being asleep for days?"

     "M-Minhyuk I..."

"I have not done anything useful ever since Jiyong died. All I've been doing is fainting and sleeping and being a useless demon that is in need of protection," Minhyuk suddenly stated, leaving Sungjae speechless.

When Minhyuk saw the angel's reaction, he sighed and sat on the sofa, "I'm sorry. I don't know why I'm suddenly telling you this when I should be thanking you instead."

Sungjae doesn't look at Minhyuk and decided to sit on the edge of the bed instead.

"I heard from my brothers that you took care of me again when I received Jiyong's soul. I don't know why I keep on losing my consciousness every time, and the fact that you're always there to see it makes me feel embarrassed." Minhyuk explained.

"What's there to be embarrassed about? The first time you fainted, you saved me and helped me find Hope. The second time was because you had to hold onto Jiyong's soul. No demon could have done it except for you. You weren't useless like how you claim to be Minhyuk," Sungjae explained, and Minhyuk finally looked back at Sungjae.

"Thanks," he simply said with a smile, but that smile alone made Sungjae look away. It was his turn to feel embarrassed.

The two became quiet, and the awkwardness started to take over. If Lay and Suho were dubbed as the awkward couple, then these two might as well steal that title from them.

"Hey..." Sungjae and Minhyuk suddenly called out in unison.

Minhyuk cleared his throat and gestured his hand so Sungjae could continue, "Y-You go first," he told him.

Sungjae felt so shy that he couldn't even look at Minhyuk, "I...I just wanted to ask you something. I've actually been dying to ask you about it ever since we got back from Ophanim (which is ironically where they are now)."

"Sure, what is it?" Minhyuk asked.

Sungjae took a deep breath and closed his eyes before quickly asking, "when we accidentally kissed, did you feel anything?"

The entire room became quiet after the question was asked. Sungjae felt so embarrassed that he opened his eyes back at looked at Minhyuk to see his reaction. But to his surprise, Minhyuk's face was now completely red. The demon was left flustered.

"I w-wanted to ask you about that too," Minhyuk revealed.

The two became quiet again, but a second later, they started laughing.

"Damn, I was worried about nothing," Minhyuk stated, wiping his tears away after laughing so hard. When the two finally settled down, Sungjae looked back at him seriously again and asked, "So, what did you feel?"

Minhyuk looked straight at Sungjae's eyes and gave him a serious answer, "I haven't kissed anyone before, but what happened between us felt...nice."

Sungjae sighed in relief and nodded his head, "I thought you'd feel disgusted," he told him, and Minhyuk smiled and said back, "I thought the same."

"Looks like we both think alike," Sungjae commented, making Minhyuk laugh.

"So, can you sing for me again like last time Prince of Gluttony?" Sungjae teased, and Minhyuk finally stood up from the sofa and said, "In your dreams angel."

"Well, it was worth the shot," Sungjae stated before standing from the bed as well.

The two started fixing their things while talking about things that they might have in common with. The atmosphere felt lovely and pure.

     Innocent couple.

     Maybe that's their new title.
