SDS3 22: THE LETTER

MINHYUK WAS LYING IN bed. The Demons standing around it while the Arcs waited downstairs. Well excluding Seunghyun who Hyunseung claimed would be of help to them. Even Junhyung wasn't allowed inside.

After what happened at the cemetery, the Demons and Arcs brought Jiyong back to the Holy Home. Jiyong's body was inside a glass case. It was inside a solemn room that had a dome window right above it so the sun was directly shining down on Jiyong's body. The room was a prayer room, but Dongmin and Kharon removed the crosses for Jiyong's sake and filled the room with black and red roses instead. It really looked like he was a prince waiting for his prince charming, but it wasn't a prince charming that he was waiting for because what Jiyong was actually waiting for was his own soul.

It was time for the Demons to make their plans. The two emotions warned them about letting Jiyong's soul stay too long on Minhyuk's body. If it stayed too long inside, it might consume Minhyuk and he'd end up dying. They have to think of a plan now, and they have to do it fast.

"So what should we do?" Sunggyu asked while looking at Taeil who was their master planner.

"Well since Jiyong's soul is basically possessing Minhyuk's body, then the only thing Seunghyun has to do is exorcist him out, simple as that," Taeil explained.

"But what about his heart?" Seunghyun pointed out. Taeil made it sound so easy when it obviously isn't going to sail as smoothly as he expects.

Taeil made a thinking pose. Everyone waited for him to say something, but Taeil sighed in defeat and honestly told them, "Well I got nothing."

"The king of hell took Jiyong's heart. Which only means its with him in hell." Hyunseung reminded them, making most of them sigh like Taeil.

"So you're telling us we need to head back to hell?" Jackson asked, worried because he just got back from hell, and he wasn't willing to make a visit again.

"Definitely not, it's too risky," Taeil stated. Making Jackson look relieved.

"I think it's best if we find out where the heart is exactly placed first before doing anything rash," Sunggyu suggested, and everyone agreed.

Taeil took Lucifer's letter out from its box and read it again, thinking of what might help with their troubles. Hyunseung's role was already over, so was Minhyuk's and Jackson's, so Suho, Sunggyu, and himself were the only ones left who haven't contributed to anything yet.

Jackson was there to protect Jiyong's body during their time of separation. Hyunseung was the only one who could open the casket; this was so that no one else could take it out, while Minhyuk became the soul's temporary host. So what were the other's roles?

"Reflection...reflection..." Taeil repeatedly told himself while staring at the paper. As he was holding onto the letter, something suddenly hit him, "When Jiyong died, I'd usually see him in mirrors."

Everyone looked at Taeil, who looked like he was talking to himself rather than talking to anyone who was inside the room.

"Who else could help us except for Jiyong himself, right?" Taeil asked, now looking at the Demons.

"Alright, I'll get a mirror." Jackson immediately stated, heading out of the room to get the mirror that was mounted on the wall downstairs. Everyone was surprised when they saw Jackson carrying the large mirror, but they didn't say anything and just helped him place the mirror on the side.

"Fire it up Prince of Sloth," Seunghyun stated.

Taeil went in front of the mirror, everyone going to his side to see it too.

"Here we go," Taeil stated, closing his eyes and focusing himself on the task at hand. He took a deep breath, and when he opened his eyes, it was already bloody red. He looked at the mirror, trying to summon Jiyong's soul, but a minute went by, and nothing happened.

Taeil almost lost balance, but good thing Hyunseung was right behind him so he was able to steady him.

"Looks like I miscalculated it," Taeil stated while massaging his aching head.

"It's okay. We'll think of another way." Sunggyu assured him.

Taeil looked at himself in the mirror in frustration, "I think I can't summon him anymore because his soul is inside Minhyuk's body now." Taeil concluded while glancing at Minhyuk who was peacefully lying on the bed. But the moment his eyes went on Minhyuk, his eyes widened from shock.

Everyone looked at him confusingly. It was like Taeil saw a ghost.

"Taeil, are you okay?" Jackson asked, but instead of answering, Taeil pointed at Minhyuk's reflection. Everyone looked at where Taeil was pointing at, but all they saw was Minhyuk sleeping.

"Okay, what's going on?" Suho stated, now extremely confused.

"I-It's...It's...Jiyong!" Taeil finally shouted, surprising everyone.

They looked at Minhyuk again, but like before,  all they could see in the reflection was Minhyuk, not Jiyong. Taeil on the other hand saw Jiyong lying on the bed instead. He looked back at the actual Minhyuk, and his eyes didn't fool him anymore, it was really Minhyuk who was lying on the bed, but when he looked back at the mirror, he clearly saw Jiyong.

"I can see him...I can see him through the mirror." Taeil revealed, clear tears suddenly falling from his eyes. Sunggyu immediately grabbed Taeil by the shoulder, his eyes now teary as well, "W-What do you see? What is he doing?"

Taeil didn't remove his eyes from Jiyong on the reflection as he answered, "He's just sleeping there, but his chest is rising and falling. I haven't seen him look so alive."

Sunggyu couldn't help but rest his head on Taeil's shoulder while tears streamed down his cheeks, relieved to hear what Taeil just saw, "Thank god he's okay. Knowing that is enough for me."

Seunghyun smiled as he looked at the hope of the Demon's eyes. He patted Sunggyu's back and congratulated him. They were now another step closer to reviving their brother.

When Sunggyu pulled away from Taeil, he suddenly went to Minhyuk and started shaking his body, "Hey! Minhyuk! Wake the hell up! We need to talk to Jiyong!"

Hyunseung immediately pulled Sunggyu away from his best friend's body and smacked the back of Sunggyu's head.

"What the hell are you doing? Do you think Minhyuk's just gonna surprisingly wake up if you shake his body like that? Jiyong's soul was too much for him, he needs more time to rest." Hyunseung told their leader, trying to bring back his senses.

"Well the more this guy remains unconscious, the more time we're wasting," Sunggyu said back.

Taeil immediately went in between them. He felt a fight coming and he didn't want that to happen especially when they've just discovered something.

"Alright, let's all relax." Taeil stated, then he looked at Sunggyu and continued, "Hyunseung is right Sunggyu. Minhyuk needs to rest, but if you're worried about wasting time then we should focus on something else while waiting."

Sunggyu sighed and finally nodded his head, "Fine."

Taeil smiled; glad their leader wasn't too stubborn. When everything finally calmed down, he looked back at Seunghyun and asked him, "You have a big role in this, but can you actually do it? Jiyong isn't exactly just a demon. He's a prince of hell, and the strongest one too. You might get hurt while trying to summon him out from Minhyuk's body."

"Other than that, you might end up hurting or even killing Minhyuk in the process," Suho added, making Sunggyu flinch when he heard the word kill.

"I'm not certain myself, but I'll do everything I can not to hurt both of your brothers. I swear it with all the angels in heaven. But if you'll allow me to, I would also like to see Jiyong's body now so I could know what to do when the time does come. It would help if I could visualize him better." Seunghyun stated. The Demons were obviously going to agree to it, but they looked at Sunggyu first. He's the leader, he makes the final call. So Sunggyu took a deep breath and nodded his head to agree with Seunghyun's request.

"Take a close fucking look on my brother's face angel. I don't want you screwing it up." Sunggyu stated, but it wasn't really a threat, it was more of a friendly reminder. So Seunghyun smiled and nodded his head before heading out of the room to leave the Demons alone with their brother.

Seunghyun walked downstairs, the Arcs apparently waiting for him at the dining room with their guardian, Park Dong Min, AKA Saint Peter.

"So how was the meeting? And why the hell did Jackson bring the mirror upstairs?" Junhyung asked, a little bummed out that he wasn't included.

"Taeil can see Jiyong through Minhyuk's reflection. They have a plan, but they're just waiting for Minhyuk to wake up so they could start moving." Seunghyun reported.

"Well, that's good to hear," Mark stated, glad things are running smoothly.

Dongmin was supposed to say something, but Seunghyun immediately spoke, "I'll be visiting Jiyong first. Please excuse me."

Dongmin was surprised, but he nodded his head like he understood.

"Alright." Dongmin simply stated, and Seunghyun nodded his head back and left his brothers.

Seunghyun went inside the room where Jiyong was placed. He slowly walked his way towards the body. Jiyong's body was peacefully lying inside the glass case. Looking at him, you'd think he was just sleeping. Seunghyun knew that it was just an empty shell, but as empty as it was, it looked like it was as alive as Jiyong was a couple of months ago.

Seunghyun bowed in front of the body to show his respect.

"Prince of Pride." Seunghyun called out, but he shook his head and corrected himself, "No, when I perform the exorcist, I have to call out your real name."

Seunghyun held the glass and looked down at Jiyong's face, "Kwon Jiyong." He said, almost like a whisper.

Nothing really happened, but then he saw something glow. Seunghyun rubbed his eyes, thinking it was just a trick of the light, but when he called out his name again, Seunghyun finally saw the glow, and it came from Jiyong's chest.

"W-What's going on?" He asked confusingly.

Jiyong's glowing chest was being shone by the sunlight from the window above them. He looked at the light, but he couldn't really sense anything, but as he was staring at it, he suddenly remembered something. Something very important.

A boy whose flames can burn the coldest of hearts, he will bring the light.

"Sunggyu!" Seunghyun shouted, immediately bolting out of the room and running upstairs.

"Seunghyun?" Junhyung called out when he saw his brother running upstairs. Seunghyun ignored his brother and continued running until he reached Minhyuk's room. He aggressively swung the door open, making the Demon's look at his way.

While panting, he pointed at Sunggyu and commanded, "Follow me."

Sunggyu was confused about the sudden command, but before he could even say anything, Seunghyun ran back downstairs, so Sunggyu stood up from the bed and followed the angel, Jackson and the others following right behind him, curious to see what Seunghyun has discovered. But as curious as Hyunseung was as well, he decided to stay behind with the unconscious Minhyuk, just in case something happens.

When everyone was downstairs, the Arcs followed as well, even Dongmin joined in. Everyone was now at the prayer room, surrounding Jiyong whose chest was actually glowing.

"What on earth did you do?" Sunggyu asked as he looked at Jiyong's glowing chest then looked back at Seung.

"I called out his name, then it started glowing," Seunghyun answered while gesturing at the place where Jiyong's heart was supposed to be.

"So what does this have to do with Sunggyu?" Jihoon asked while looking at his brother with a confused expression.

Taeil sighed at his lover's stupidity and answered for Seunghyun's sake, "The letter. It stated that Sunggyu is a boy whose flames can burn the coldest of hearts. He will bring the light. Apparently there's a glowing chest, and the light is right above us. Now you get it?"

Jihoon embarrassingly scratched the back of his head, but like him, Sunggyu was also confused about what he was supposed to do. He looked at Jiyong's chest, and then he followed the light. When he looked up, the light shone on his face, then suddenly his eyes turned red. Everyone was surprised and moved away.

"What's going on?" Suho asked. He was about to approach their brother to touch him, but Dongmin immediately grabbed his arm to stop him, "Leave him."

Suho gulped and took a step back, and then the rest followed.

Sunggyu wasn't moving, but as everyone was staring at him, Sunggyu was suddenly watching something unfold. He saw a vision, and it was a vision of their first battle back at HAU. Woo Jiho was there (Taeil's first lover). They thought they were safe after the battle, but then Kharon arrived and grabbed Zico's heart.

"Find the Heart." A low voice stated in Sunggyu's ear.

Finally, the vision stopped, and Sunggyu fell on his knees while gasping for air.

The Demons immediately approached him, patting his back to calm their leader down.

Sunggyu gripped on Suho's arm, his eyes slowly turning back to normal. He looked at the Arcs, and then he looked back at his brother's and finally told them the sudden revelation, "H-Heart...I know where it is."

Everyone was surprised to hear what Sunggyu just had said. Suho, who's arm Sunggyu was gripping on, looked at his brother with this disbelief, "You know where Jiyong's heart is?" He asked him. But Sunggyu shook his head, then he looked at Taeil, and he gulped and answered them, "No...but I know where Jiho's is."
