SDS3 03: LUMINATING REDEMPTION

"I WILL A-ALWAYS...LOVE you...m-my brothers"

"We have arrived at Incheon airport. Thank you for flying with us, and we hope to see you again."

"Yeah, I'm back in South Korea. I don't know when I'll head back man but I'll try to come back during the summer seasons. Don't worry, I gave our Dean the files they needed. Yeah. What? Well, tell him to fuck off and look for another assistant. Yeah, just call me later." Sunggyu said in straight English before hanging up. The girl beside him looked at him impressively, but Sunggyu glared at her, making the girl flinch and move away.

Sunggyu put his phone back inside his pocket and got out of the airplane. He took his luggage and heads out right after. Then, he saw their family driver holding a sign that said, "Kim Sunggyu."

Sunggyu sighed and walked towards him, "Where's my mother?" he immediately asked before giving him his luggage.

The driver quickly took the bag and answered, "She's working right now sir Sunggyu but she promised to be with you at dinner."

"It's my fucking birthday and she's not even here to welcome her son who has been gone for seven fucking months?" Sunggyu angrily asked, but the driver doesn't say anything.

"Where's my coat?" Sunggyu asked as the two walked towards the car. The driver opened the door for Sunggyu and answered, "It's right at the back sir."

Sunggyu goes inside and the two drove off.

"Do you know where we're going?" Sunggyu asked while his eyes were at the screen of his phone.

The driver nodded his head and answered, "Yes, your mother told me about it earlier."

Sunggyu doesn't say anything anymore and continued scanning his phone. But suddenly, the car makes a sudden stop, causing Sunggyu to let go of his phone.

"What the fuck?!" he shouted angrily.

The driver quickly looked at Sunggyu and said, "I apologize sir Sunggyu but a motorcycle suddenly made a cut in front of us."

The moment the driver explained himself; Sunggyu goes out of the car to see the motorcycle lying on the ground while the driver was lifting it up.

"Hey, you asshole! You almost hit my fucking car!" Sunggyu shouted as he went towards the man with dark brown hair. The man doesn't react, so Sunggyu angrily pulls him towards him using his collar, "You fucking look at me when I talk to you."

The man did what he was told. He looked at Sunggyu straight in the eyes, but then he smirks, making Sunggyu lift his hand to punch him. But before Sunggyu's fist could make contact with the man's face, Sunggyu's driver runs out of the car and quickly goes to where Sunggyu was to grab his hand to stop him.

"I apologize sir Sunggyu but it will not be wise to start a fight here." The driver says nervously, making Sunggyu glare at him.

People were already surrounding them, so Sunggyu finally lets go of the man. Then he looked at his driver and threatened, "Fine, let's leave now. If not I might put out all my anger on you and punch you instead."

Sunggyu quickly heads back inside the car. The driver bowed in front of the motorcycle driver and goes back inside the car as well, quickly driving away so Sunggyu wouldn't be mad at him.

Sunggyu was known to be a mean guy, but ever since he met his brothers, everything changed. But now? After everything that happened to them, Sunggyu's been meaner than ever. When Sunggyu moved to America, he was quiet and wouldn't even eat properly for a couple of months. But his depression quickly escalated to anger. He became someone who everyone feared and he liked it.

His anger was the only thing that made him normal again, and it helped him forget about everything that happened in the past.

AT JACKSON WANG'S RESIDENCE

"Good morning mom," Jackson said as he went to the kitchen to see his mother cooking breakfast while wearing a sky blue dress like she's about to attend prom. Jackson smiled at the sight of her. Her mother's extraness was only one of the people who kept him sane until now.

"Wow, you're quite early today." Mrs. Wang said while cooking bacon.

Jackson goes to her and takes the packed meal placed on the counter, "It's not like you don't know I was going to wake up this early."

His mother smiled widely and said, "Oh come on, let me act surprised for once."

Jackson placed the meal inside his backpack and looked back at his mother, "But seriously mom, thank you for the meal you prepared for me and Jiyong."

His mother smiles again and goes to him, and then she kisses Jackson's forehead and says, "You are always welcome. You should go now, you don't want Jiyong to wait for you right?"

Jackson nods his head and leaves, but before he could close the front door, his mother shouts, "Happy birthday Jackson!"

Jackson doesn't reply but gives out a small smile before closing the door.

After the Demons parted, Jackson locked himself inside his room and stayed there for weeks. But one day, while he was sleeping, he suddenly had a dream. In that dream, he saw Jiyong sitting in front of his own grave. Jackson slowly walked towards him and held Jiyong's shoulder. The moment he held Jiyong's cold shoulder, Jiyong looked at him and said, "Come to me. Every Sabbath day, you come to me."

Jackson felt like it was really Jiyong. He was a man who mastered Illusion casting, so he was sure that the dream he had was nothing but real.

So Jackson did what Jiyong told him. Every Sunday, Jackson would go to Jiyong's grave. He would go there early in the morning and clean it. Then he'd sit there all day, reading Jiyong a book he would buy from the bookstore. Jackson bought different pocket books every week just so he could have something to read to Jiyong.

Then at night he'd lie down and look at the stars. He'd sleep beside Jiyong's grave until morning, well if he could sleep. He usually couldn't. He'd just be awake until 4 AM, but he still didn't mind. It would sound creepy but Jackson was okay with it. If Jiyong wanted him to stay there every day, Jackson wouldn't even hesitate.

Jackson did that for seven months. Hoping that someday he'd realize why he had that dream in the first place. Why did Jiyong want him there? What was his purpose?

"Morning prince of pride. I know you're shocked since I only come here during Sunday's but you know...today is an exception." Jackson stated as he finally arrived at Jiyong's grave.

He took a cloth from his bag and cleaned Jiyong's headstone. After that, he placed a mat on the grass and sat down.

"Happy birthday man. I bought something for you by the way." Jackson said as he took out a watch that Jiyong's father was talking about when Jiyong died.

He placed the watch that was placed inside an expensive-looking box in front of Jiyong's grave and said, "That's a fucking expensive watch and I had to work part-time at three different places just so I could afford that thing."

The wind blew hard on the exact moment, making Jackson smile.

"You're welcome." he softly replied. But as soon as he did, a blood tear streamed down from his eye.

"Why the fuck am I crying?" Jackson asked himself as he continued to look at Jiyong's grave.

"I bought a new book. It's an erotic one this time so you wouldn't be bored." Jackson said as he quickly wiped his own tears. He took the book from his bag and opened it to the first page, but before reading, he looked at Jiyong's grave and asked, "Why did you bring me here Jiyong? What do you want me to do here? Am I supposed to say something? Am I supposed to do something? If I do then you need to fucking tell me."

     No one answered.

Well, obviously no one would answer. But the silence made Jackson frustrated.

"Come to me...every Sabbath day you come to me. That's what you said, but what does it mean?"

"Maybe he wants you to take him to church or something." Someone suddenly answered, making Jackson widen his eyes from shock. He quickly turned around and was surprised to see who was standing behind him.

     "S-Sunggyu?!"

"Hey big guy. You look like a fool talking to a dead person you know." Sunggyu jokingly said, but when he sees the trails of blood on Jackson's cheeks, Sunggyu quickly looked away.

Jackso stood up and looked at his brother, in disbelief "I-Is that really you? I heard you were...you were studying in America now."

Sunggyu scratched the back of his head and answered, "Well yeah, I was. But I decided to come back here since my mom kept on calling me every night just to make sure I'm okay and it's quite annoying so I'll be enrolling at HAU again next week."

Jackson doesn't say anything and just continued to look at Sunggyu with shock.

"You know this is the right time for you to say something," Sunggyu said as he finally looked back at his brother. But instead of saying anything, Jackson aggressively pulled Sunggyu's collar towards him and said, "I thought you fucking ditched us for good you asshole."

Sunggyu's gaze finally softened as he said back, "How can I leave my brothers behind? You guys are everything that I have left remember?"

Finally, Jackson let's go of Sunggyu's collar and hugs their leader tightly.

     Seven months...

He hasn't seen any of his brothers in seven months.

And now, on his birthday, on THEIR birthday, they get to see each other again.

"So about that Erotica book you were talking about." Sunggyu jokingly says, making Jackson laugh, "You haven't changed at all...leader."
