SDS2 23: THE SECRET
"WE'RE GOING TO JAPAN."
Park Dong Min told that to the Arcs days ago, and now the Arcs are currently training in a place of peace; in the mountains. Even though they were training day and night, they still didn't know the reason why they were doing so because Dongmin never told them about what they're doing there in the first place.
"Damn, this is tiring," Sungjae said as he sat down on the ground and wiped his sweaty brows.
"Yeah, we've been training hard since the day we arrived here in Japan," said Woohyun as he sat beside Sungjae.
Mark, who was practicing his sword swings, stopped and looked at their leader who was punching a sack of soil, "Why do you think our guardian made us train here Junhyung?" he asked him.
Junhyung gave out one final punch on the sack before looking back at his brother, "I don't know, but let's just do what our guardian asked us to do."
"Yeah, and its been a while since we followed directions blindly," Lay added.
The Arcs took a break and sat on the floor to meditate. Jihoon, who went inside their temporary Holy Home to get some water, went back to his brothers and announced, "Dongmin called for us."
Everyone immediately opened their eyes and looked back at the angel.
"Why?" Seunghyun asked.
Jihoon looked at them seriously and answered, "We have a visitor."
The Arcs immediately stood up from the floor and went inside their home. When they arrived in the living room, they were surprised to see a tall man standing in front of their guardian. With one look, the angels already knew what it was. The Arcs got ready to summon their weapon, but Dongmin immediately stopped them, "It's okay," he told them.
"How is this okay?!" Junhyung angrily asked, "A ghoul had entered the holy home and you're just standing there doing nothing!" Junhyung shouted. He looked at the Arcs, and they nodded in agreement.
Junhyung was ready to run towards the ghoul, but Dongmin immediately looked at him straight in the eye, making him unable to move.
"What the-"
"I told you, it's okay. When will you kids learn to listen?" Dongmin asked before taking a seat with a glass of wine at hand. He took a sip and blinked, immediately releasing Junhyung from his hold.
"Show them your mark," Dongmin said to the ghoul who was standing in front of them. The ghoul nodded his head and looked at the demons before lifting his shirt to show them the said mark.
Junhyung's eyes widened as he said, "Is that a-"
"Phoenix symbol," Seunghyun continued.
"This is Nagi. Kharon the third sent him here," Dongmin explained, calming the seven brothers.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Princes of Heaven," Nagi said as he bowed down to show respect to the Arcs.
"Uhm, yeah, it's nice to meet you too...Nagi," Mark said awkwardly as the Arcs bowed back.
When the problem was now settled, Dongmin gestured Nagi to sit on the couch opposite him. When Nagi took a seat, the Arcs went behind their guardian who immediately asked, "The reason why you're here concerns the Demons, am I correct?"
Junhyung and the rest of the Arcs almost flinched by the mere mention of the Demons. They wanted to ask more, but the seriousness on Nagi's face made everyone fall silent.
A FEW HOURS LATER
"This is bullshit!" Seunghyun shouted as he punched a punching bag as hard as he can with his bare hands, causing his knuckles to ache.
"Seunghyun, you need to relax," Lay calmly stated, but he threw knives on the target in front of him as hard as he could to the point where he destroyed the target. His aggressive action contradicted what he was telling his brother.
"This situation is..." Woohyun couldn't even finish his sentence, and the Arcs knew why.
Since everyone was acting off, Seunghyun decided to take a break. They stopped their training and gathered together to discuss what was revealed to them not too long ago.
"Whether we go there or not, it's still bound to happen," Lay said with a tone of disbelief. He didn't want to believe what Nagi just told them, but they also knew that there was nothing they could do if it did happen.
"But we can't just do nothing. I mean, we still have to try," Sungjae suggested. He looked at his brothers, but none of them looked at him. All of them, even Junhyung - their leader - didn't look at his brother because he knew that nothing will happen, whether they do something or not.
"You got to be kidding me," Sungjae said in disbelief.
"Sorry, Sungjae. Even though we could think of a way to help, it's just that-" Seunghyun didn't continue his thoughts because he really can't. The shock was too much for him.
As everyone remained silent, Junhyung took a deep breath and looked at his brothers, "I know that what Nagi said...shocked us," Junhyung stated, "But we can't just sit here and do nothing. Sungjae's right. We have to at least try."
The Arcs looked unsure, so Junhyung continued, "We still need to try. We might not know who it would exactly be, but it's still better to try and prevent it than watch it happen while doing nothing." Junghyung explained further, trying to convince his brothers.
"What do you want us to do then?" Woohyun asked his leader.
"You know that we can't go to Hell without the help of the Demons," Mark added.
"Then I'll help you." The Arcs looked at the owner of the voice and saw that it was Dongmin standing beside Nagi. The Arcs faced the two, and hope was building inside them because they now believe that they could actually do something to help.
"But you must be sure about it," Dongmin asked, and the Arcs instantly nodded.
Dongmin nodded back and looked at Nagi. Then Nagi summoned a bag of coins and tossed it to Junhyung. Junhyung caught the bag of coins and opened it. Inside he saw 7 coins, and each of the Arcs took one coin.
"What's this?" Woohyun asked as he examined the gold coin that he was holding.
"That coin is your ticket to enter Hell," Dongmin answered, shocking the Arcs.
"How did you-"
"Kharon the Third gave it to you," Nagi answered, shocking the Arcs even more. "He told me to give it to you if you are willing to enter hell without the Princes beside you," he continued.
"This will help us go to Hell?" Mark asked, and Dongmin and Nagi both nodded as an answer.
"But how can we go back? I don't want to be stuck in hell forever," Jihoon asked with concern in his voice.
"I'll try to summon a portal for your exit," Dongmin explained, reassuring the Arcs. The Arcs trusted their guardian and placed the coins back inside the bag.
"So when are we going to go there?" Seunghyun then asked.
"After the Princes collects the keys," Nagi explained, and once again the Arcs got angry at the thought of the Demons' personal mission. Until now, they still think that the Demons are killing normal humans.
"Kharon the third will summon a portal to hell, and it will be your chance to enter as well," Dongmin explained further.
"How? Are we going to join the Demons or what?" Junhyung asked in confusion.
"No." Dongmin quickly answered, "You'll enter Hell through a mountain."
The Arcs looked at each other, confused. How on earth will they enter hell through a mountain?
"There is a mountain here in Japan where people were rumored to be able to travel to hell," said Dongmin to answer the Arcs' questionable expressions.
"How can you be sure? I mean it's just a rumor right?" Lay asked with disbelief.
"Well they say its a rumor but its actually not," Nagi said, and then he continued "The mountain is a portal, but you need the blood of a demon to open it."
Without any further explanation, the Arcs got the picture.
"That's why you should train harder my angels," Dongmin told them, and the Arcs nodded with more determination than before.
Afterward, Dongmin and Nagi left the Arcs for their training. When they were sure that the Arcs wouldn't be able to hear them anymore, Nagi looked at Dongmin and asked, "Are you sure about this Peter?"
"No, but my kids need hope. I want them to feel like they did something even when the outcome is already definite," Dongmin explained as he and Nagi continued walking towards the exit of the home.
"I just wish it's all worth it," Dongmin added.
"Even though you're aware of the events that will happen, you're still worried?" Nagi asked. He knew that Dongmin knows a lot more than Kharon. Well of course he would. After all, Park Dong Min and God are close. Close enough that God Himself would tell him things that he alone needs to know.
"I am because God didn't tell me the details of the events," Dongmin answered, "I just hope it's all worth it, that's all."
The two then arrived at the gate. Nagi looked back at the Arcs who were training harder than before since they arrived in Japan. He then took a deep breath and said, "I don't think it is. But then again, you know what's going to happen next anyway."
