- Kim Sunggyu's POV -

(PRONUNCIATION: Song-gyu)

AT THIS POINT YOU must be very tired of hearing the same shit all over again, so let me just skip the cheesy stuff and go straight to the point.

     Mom met dad.

     Mom got pregnant.

     Dad left.

An ill-tempered boy named Kim Sunggyu was born.

     The end.

"What the hell Ira!" I angrily shouted as my pet dog named Ira, who's a black Doberman Pinscher, continued to lick my face. I pushed him away from me and wiped my face with my own blanket before looking at Ira who was sitting beside my bed while wagging his tail excitedly.

"What do you want demon?" I asked, and Ira barked so loud that it could be heard by the neighbors in another street.

"Fine. I'll feed you." I said as I went out of my bedroom, Ira following right behind me.

I went downstairs and took out his bowl before filling it up with his favorite dog food. Ira immediately went to his bowl and ignored my entire existence. I glared at how easily my own dog used and neglected me before heading to the kitchen where I saw my mom reading a newspaper.

The maids who were there bowed to greet me, but I didn't say anything and just sat down in front of my mother.

"Here you go sir." A maid stated as she handed me my morning tea.

Mom put the newspaper down and looked at me, "Did you feed Ira? I specifically told the maids not to feed him so you'd know your responsibility."

"It's not my job to feed him, pick his shit up, and wash him." I answered before sipping my tea, and mom looked at me and said back, "Whose dog is it then?"

"I didn't ask for a dog." I fired back, and mom finally didn't say anything because she could already notice my growing anger.

"Don't be so hot-headed this early in the morning Sunggyu. Especially since it's your birthday." She told me, and I rolled my eyes because we never really celebrated my birthday. She'd usually just give me money and call it a day.

"So how much is it this year? Or are you planning to give me a ticket to France?" I asked without looking at my mother. I started eating my pasta and waited for her answer, but what she said immediately made me stop.

"Do you have plans today?" She asked.

     "What do you mean?"

Mom folded the newspaper she was holding and placed it aside before telling me, "I reserved a private room at a restaurant in Gangnam. We'll have dinner and celebrate your birthday there."

I looked at her with furrowed brows, but she doesn't say anything any further as she started eating too.

I wasn't planning to fight with her so I asked, "Fine. What time?"

"As soon as you finish your classes. Just message me." She explained, and I nodded my head as a reply.

The two of us didn't say anything after that, but I didn't want to speak either. I didn't want her to know how happy I was because of something so shallow.

*****

I wore my helmet and sat on my motorbike. Then I took my phone from my bag and sent a text to one of my friends, Kwon Jiyong.

"Hey rich boy. Don't wait for me in the bicycle area anymore. Let's just meet inside our building."  I texted him since I was in a pretty good mood today, and I don't want them teasing me because of that.

As I was riding my motorbike, I suddenly saw one of my classmates – Lee Taeil – walking his way to the park.

"What the hell is that guy doing?" I asked as I stopped my bike so I could look at him.

Lee Taeil sat on the park's bench and stared at the sky. Then seconds later he lied down and went to sleep as soon as he did it. A good man would wake him up and let him ride with him so the stranger wouldn't be late for class.

But I'm not a good man.

"Not my problem now," I said with a grin as I proceeded to head to the campus.

I reached the university at 7:40 AM. After parking my motorbike at the bicycle area, I went inside our building where everyone continued to avoid me as I walked past them in the hallway.

I wasn't even doing or saying anything, but every time I go somewhere, people would just move away and hide in fear. I enjoy it at times, but I'm not gonna lie, it can get a little lonely.

A lot of other things piss me off, but one thing that I really hate the most are these two specific guys in our year who doesn't give a shit about me. I can endure people fearing me, but purposely ignoring me is another thing.

      Oh, there they are now.

Lee Minhyuk was draping his shoulders around Jang Hyunseung like they were on a date in a park. Lee is the guy who acts all tough just because of his size, and Jang is one of the most popular guys on campus who attracts everyone who comes near him.

The two of them are quite popular, and some would even dare to compare them with me and my friends who are obviously in a very different league than they are.

When I got close to them, I purposely bumped onto Lee, causing him to let go of his chips. I wasn't really planning to make him let go of it, but I guess that works too.

"Watch where you're going you Glutton," I said with an angry tone, making the people around us stop to look at us.

He was about to approach me, and I was so ready to fight him back, but Jang immediately stopped him, so he didn't do anything further.

"What the hell is he? Jang's bitch? He can't even retaliate. What a loser." I said to myself before walking away from them.

"We'll have our awaited fight next time Lee Minhyuk," I continued to tell myself.

When I reached the end of the hall, I saw two of my most loyal friends, Jiyong and Suho. The three of us go way back, so those two are equally just as feared as I am. Well, except for Suho who's actually an 'everyone's friend' type of guy.

"Happy Birthday guys," I said as soon as I stopped in front of them.

"Same to you," Jiyong and Suho said in unison.

Jiyong then pointed back at the hallway and asked, "What's up with that?"

I smirked and answered him, "Nothing much. Just accidentally bumped into him."

My two friends looked at each other and chuckled.

"Accidentally? Really now?" Suho asked, and I just shrugged my shoulder and started walking to our designated room.

The two immediately followed beside me. Suho then placed his hand on my shoulder and said, "You evil, evil demon."

I laughed upon the statement and said back, "Come on. I'm not that demonic."

*****

"I'll email the articles tonight. Make sure you read them." The professor stated before leaving the room.

Everyone stood up from their seats and started leaving the room as well. It was our last lecture for the day so I'm pretty sure everyone's just eager to go home.

"Class is finally over," I said while stretching my arms and yawning loudly.

"So, you guys got any plans tonight?" Suho suddenly asked while we headed out of the room.

"I do. I'm having dinner with my mother." I simply answered, and Jiyong and Suho immediately looked at each other before looking back at me. I knew what they were thinking, but they didn't say anything.

"Mom said I should just head home because she prepared something," Jiyong answered next to shift the attention to him.

"Well it looks like we all have plans," Suho concluded, and we nodded our heads as an agreement.

I took out my phone and messaged my mother to tell her my class was over. She immediately replied and gave me the name of the restaurant where we'll be having our dinner.

"Hey, I better go," I told them as I looked at my watch.

"Sure, see you tomorrow Sunggyu," Suho stated, then I quickly patted his back and went to the bicycle area so I could get my bike and leave.

When I arrived at the restaurant, I parked my bike and removed my helmet so I could hide it under the seat compartment. I was about to head to the entrance when I suddenly saw Jang Hyunseung with a woman who I can only presume is his mother since he looked like her.

"Is he celebrating something too?" I asked as I waited for them to head inside. The last thing that I want to happen on my birthday is to meet Jang Hyunseung outside the campus.

After waiting for a couple of minutes, I finally went in. The receptionist welcomed me and asked if I was alone.

"No, my mom reserved a table here named-" I paused because I actually didn't know what name she used. I was about to message her again when someone suddenly tapped on my shoulder. I turned around and saw that it was actually my mother.

"We have a reservation under the name Satan," she suddenly blurted out, shocking me.

"Sorry, can you say that again?" The receptionist asked confusingly.

"Satan," my mom casually repeated like Satan is a common name like Joe or Michael. But no, it's not fucking common at all! Because the name is fucking SATAN! Who name's their son satan?

"Ah, I see." The receptionist said with an awkward chuckle. She was surprised about the name, but she was even more surprised about the fact that the name was actually on the fucking list.

"Right this way please," the receptionist stated as she led us to a private room.

We sat down like normal and ordered our meal. As soon as the waiter left us, I looked at my mother and asked, "What kind of joke is this? Are you making fun of me? Satan? Really?"

Mom didn't say anything, which pissed me off even more.

Since I was already in a bad mood, I didn't utter a single word during our entire dinner. I didn't know what she was trying to do, but I wasn't going to play with her games.

And I thought we were going to celebrate my birthday like a normal mother and son. I guess I had my hopes too high.

"Are you done? Can I leave?" I asked as soon as the waiter cleared our table.

Mom still doesn't answer me. Instead, she took something out from her bag. She placed it on the table and pushed it closer to me. It was a box that looked a hundred years old.

"Your father gave that to you. He told me to hand it to you when you reach 18," my mom told me. But rather than feeling surprised, I felt angry.

"Wow, so he leaves us and expects me to just love him after giving me this crappy-looking present?" I sarcastically asked, and mom took a deep breath and said, "I've been terrible to you haven't I?"

I calmed down for a second and looked back at her. That question surprised me more than the mention of my father.

"I know you're angry with me, and I know I haven't been the best mother to you. But I am trying my best to give you everything that I could offer. I'm not purposely neglecting you. Your father and I have done everything to protect you. But I'm a goddamn psychologist. I've helped so many people yet I can't help my own son." My mother suddenly explained, her eyes turning red like she was seconds away from crying.

I didn't know what and how to react. I just sat there in silence as I watched her explain herself.

The two of us didn't say a word, and my mother finally shed a tear. She immediately took a tissue and used it to wipe her tears away.

I clenched on my fist and looked back at her as I tried to say, "I...I was never angry. I'm just...something's wrong with me. I'm always filled with rage. I don't know what else to express but anger. I wasn't a good son to you either." I finally told her, making my mother cry even more.

"This was our fault." She said as she tried to calm herself down, "We already knew but we didn't do anything. We just loved you so much. We became selfish and we didn't think about what you'd go through."

I looked back at my mother confusingly. "What are you talking about?" I asked, and mom grabbed my hand and finally said, "The reason why you're like that is because..." Mom paused and squeezed on my hand even tighter, "Your father...he's Satan, the ruler of the realm Wrath," she revealed.

Everything around me stopped for a second. I thought I heard it wrong, but I knew what I heard.

I immediately pulled my hands away from her and stood up from my seat, "Just when I thought I could finally open up to you, you give me this crap. I am not playing games with you any more mom."

I thought she was going to remain silent, but mom suddenly slammed her hand on the table and stood up as well, "And so am I! It's been hard for me to keep this a secret from you. Do you think it was easy for me to come here and tell you all this?"

The two of us stopped and calmed down. We were panting like we just ran a marathon.

I know this is serious, but I only now realized that I got my personality from her too. She's just better at keeping her cool.

"You're actually telling me the truth?" I still asked, scared to hear my mother's answer.

Mom took a deep breath and nodded her head, "I know it sounds crazy, but it's true. I've heard of a lot of crazy things as a psychologist, but this is by far the craziest. I'd lie to you but I've seen it with my own eyes. Especially when the king of hell forcefully took him away."

"Forcefu...King of Hell? What the fuck?" I continued to ask, everything now getting crazier and crazier by the second.

"Alright. Let's go home first. I want you to rest, and then we'll talk."

*****

When I got home, I saw Ira sleeping in the living room. He instantly woke up when I got there, but I guess he understood that I wasn't in a good mood so he didn't follow me.

I immediately went to my room without saying a word. The box that was supposedly from my father was in my hand. Mom told me to bring it with me, and I was too drained to even fight with her.

I sat on my bed and looked at the box. I wanted to throw it away but something inside me was telling me to open it. So I took a deep breath and did open the box.

Inside the box was a letter, and a weird-looking ring. I checked the ring first before reading the letter.

Happy 18th Birthday Sunggyu.

I'm assuming you're mad, which is a reaction that I've already expected from the start, but let me try to explain further.

Yes, I am one of the Seven Deadly Demons here in hell. I know you don't want to believe it, but it's true. Of course it's hard to understand it now, but I won't force you into believing it all right away. All I'm asking is a little understanding from you.

I know growing up is very hard for you because of your anger issues. You were always sent to the principal's office and even to the Juvenile Detention Center. But now that you have reached 18 you will experience even greater harm besides this temper of yours. That's why I suggest you wear the ring, the ring will help you control your temper and it will also suppress your other unknown abilities. It will also unleash a weapon that will surely be helpful to you in the future.

Someone is after you, our kind's archenemies; the archangels. These archangels are just like you, they are human-angels. You might be stronger than the others, but you alone can't kill them.

There are six more like you. They are also sons of the Seven Deadly Demons. The ring will also help you look for them. It will light up when someone like you is near. Unite with them and fight the Archangels.

I know I can count on you. Please be strong and may the King of Hell be with you, and your spirit.

- Satan.

I placed the letter back inside the box and didn't say a word. But even after all that, it was still too hard for me to comprehend the situation.

Next I scanned the ring again. The ring had a red gem that was being held by golden hands. It was actually creepy, but the longer I stared at it, the more fascinated I became. It was almost as if it was luring me into wearing it.

"So this will help me find the other people who are like me, and at the same time, it will help me control my temper too? But what if the other human-demons live in another country? Is traveling the whole globe required just for me to search for them?" I asked myself, but then the ring suddenly lit up, like it was trying to answer my question.

"Fine then, I love traveling anyways," I jokingly said as I positioned the ring at the tip of my finger. Then I wore the ring with no hesitation. I wasn't really expecting anything, but as soon as I wore it, everything went black, and I ended up fainting.
