SDS1 20: CHOICE
EVERYONE WAS SPEECHLESS EXCEPT for the Demons who had proud looks on their faces instead. They thought that Junhyung would at least know who he's messing with after what happened.
"I told you, that was a wrong move," Sunggyu stated, and Seunghyun and the rest of the Arcs just looked back at the Demons with shock and fear.
"I think you need to follow him or else he might just kill himself," Suho stated, and Seunghyun took a deep breath and glared at the Demons before running off to follow their leader. Then the rest of the Arcs followed behind him.
"Okay! Shows over you mother-fuckers!" Jiyong shouted, and everyone immediately continued with what they were doing earlier.
"Come on. I'm really hungry now," Minhyuk stated, and Jiyong draped his arm around Minhyuk's shoulder and told him, "You're the prince of gluttony. It would be strange if you weren't even if you are wearing the ring."
The sons started walking to their usual table except for Taeil who had a confused expression on his face.
"Something's wrong here," he stated, making his brothers stop to look back at him.
"What do you mean?" Minhyuk asked, pushing Jiyong's arm off of him.
"I think they're planning something here. Look, why would Junhyung suddenly return Hyunseung's ring? And come on, if you're not slow, Junhyung was clearly trying to piss JS off again." Taeil explained, and everyone now realized it too.
"So the reason why Junhyung gave Hyunseung the ring back is because he wanted to see if it would glow or not, right?" Suho asked back, and Taeil nodded his head since he and Suho shared the same conclusion.
The sons became silent on the sudden realization. They needed to know what their enemies were planning before it's too late.
"Okay brothers, after the case with Mark, we're going to find out about Arcs' plan before things get out of hand," Sunggyu instructed, and everyone nodded in agreement.
"Wait, I almost forgot. Suho, did you tell Kharon about our plan?" Sunggyu then asked while looking at his greedy brother.
"I did. And I bet he already used someone to finish the final program for our helplessly stupid little angel."
*****
Junhyung and the rest of the Arcs arrived at their house slash hideout called the Holy Home. The moment Junhyung took a step inside, the voices in his head stopped. When he couldn't hear them anymore, his legs weakened and he fell to the floor in an instant.
The Arcs approached him with a worried expression. Lay kneeled down and supported his leader with his arm, "Junhyung, are you-" Before Lay could finish his sentence, Junhyung cuts him off and said, "Audible Inundation. Hyunseung has Audible Inundation."
"W-what?" Lay asked, but everyone else was shocked by what they heard too.
Seunghyun took a deep breath and brushed his hair with his fingers before throwing himself at the sofa in defeat, "Audible Inundation. The lowest-ranked demon amongst them...has fucking audible inundation."
The rest of the Arcs looked even more worried. Audible Inundation was a power you can't shield even if you cover your eyes.
"So, what now?" Woohyun asked.
"Audible Inundation, life-draining, and Illusion casting. It gets worse and worse. Haven't you noticed it yet? Those are powers we cannot shield. With a ring, without a ring, nothing will happen. The only way we can defeat their powers is by having a power much greater than theirs", Sungjae explained.
"I'll think of a way okay!" Junhyung suddenly shouted, making his head hurt even more. If the Arcs were worried, Junhyung was ten times more worried about the situation. As the leader, he was responsible for making plans and moving forward. But with what they have now, they're all pushed to the edge of a cliff. He couldn't think of anything.
"Lay, bring Junhyung to his room and heal him," Seunghyun instructed.
Lay nodded as a reply. He was about to help Junhyung stand, but their guardian Dongmin, AKA St. Peter, appeared in front of them. He had a serious expression on his face, which made everyone realize that they were in a lot of trouble.
"Junhyung, all the Fathers would like to see you," their guardian finally revealed.
Everyone became quiet. A meeting with ALL the Archangels didn't sound good.
"I understand," Junhyung stated, standing up on his own without the help of his brother. He went to the living room first and stood in front of the large mirror, the rest of the Arcs standing right behind him.
Dongmin stood beside Junhyung and kneeled on one knee. He held his chest and looked at the mirror in front of them, "Father, we are ready to speak to you," he stated, and the mirror started to glow. After a couple of seconds, the seven Archangels appeared before them.
"Fathers," they all greeted with a deep bow. As soon as they stood up straight, all the Archangels' eyes were already on Junhyung.
"Junhyung, you have once again caused your brothers great harm!" Phanuel (Yook Sungjae's father) started.
"Especially your brother (his son) Mark! How could you be so careless because of your mere feelings?!"Raguel added.
Junhyung took a deep breath and bowed again, "I'm sorry father, I promise I will-"
"Silence!" Someone shouted. And this time it was Junhyung's father, Michael.
He looked back at Junhyung with a disappointed expression, "Junhyung my son, how many times do we have to tell you that you need to think before you execute your plans! I'll tell it to you straight. Defeating those demons is easy, you just need to use your head!"
"I know father. But I have Necrokinesis (To cause instant death). I can kill those demons if you just let me use it." Junhyung reminded them.
"How dare you!" Raphael (Lay's father) shouted, making everyone flinch. Without waiting for anyone to react, he continued, "You clearly know that you cannot use your gifted powers without the permission of our God."
Junhyung clenched his fist and answered him, "Then why did he give us these powers?!"
"Because there is a right time for everything," Uriel (Jihoon's father) explained.
"That's bullshit!" Junhyung shouted, surprising not only the Arcs and the Archangels, but their guardian too. Junhyung always answered back to him, but he never expected Junhyung to actually say such a thing in front of all the Archangels. His human blood is no doubt stronger than his angel blood.
Everyone became quiet. After a few seconds of silence, Samuel (Seunghyun's father), took a step forward. He takes out a scroll and looked at Junhyung, "Yong Junhyung, son of Michael. Listen and obey!"
Junhyung and the rest of the Arcs were surprised by what they heard. This was the Holy Order, and whether it was a good order or a bad order, no one has the power to go against it.
"You have committed the greatest sin a leader of the Angels could ever commit. You have caused your brothers great harm, you have forgotten your real purpose, you have become one with an enemy, but more than that, you have fallen in love with a demon. We hereby sentence you to 27 days of mortality." Samuel read loud and clear, sending chills down to the Arcs' spines.
"W-What? You can't be serious..."
"In 27 days, you will no longer be a leader, an angel, and a son of Michael. Repent on your sins during these times. And for the rest of the Arcs, you will not include this "man" in your plans during his repentance. This is your Holy Order," Samuel finished, and all the Arcs were left speechless.
"F-Father...there must be another way!" Seunghyun stated, his eyes teary on what was happening to his dear brother.
"This is a command! Not a request!" Samuel reminded him with a powerful voice. But Junhyung didn't give up. He bowed down on his knees and started crying and pleading.
"Please Father, I will repent on my sins...but not this way," He begged. The Archangels didn't even flinch, but deep down this was hard for them too. This was the only way Junhyung was going to learn from his mistakes.
"Please let me stay, please..." He continued, but their fathers only looked at him without saying a word.
Junhyung clenched his fist and finally broke down. He lifted his head and looked at the Archangels, "Fathers! I don't understand anymore! You have given me the ability to kill those Demons but I am not allowed to use it. You have given us a mission to kill them but the Lord's commandments clearly say; Thou shall not kill, but you said those seven are an exception to that law. Fathers, they have powers much greater than what you imagined. They can use those powers and kill us once and for all. Why can't we do what they can when both of us only have one mission!?"
"You cannot because you are not them! They are Demons and you are Angels. They are mistakes and you are gifts. They send horror and sins to the earth but you bring blessings and good news. They follow NO GOD, but you live because of ours. They can betray their only king, but the moment you betray our God, you are even sinful than a demon," Phanuel stated, making everyone look at each other with sad expressions.
"Please my son. Just listen and obey," Michael, Junhyung's father, commanded with a hint of hurt and sorrow in his voice.
"Father...please," Junhyung continued as he looked at his father with his pitiful eyes. But Michael only looked away.
Junhyung took a deep breath and finally accepted his defeat. He glanced at his brothers who looked like they were about to cry too. Then he puts his head down, and with a shaky voice, he said, "I...li-sten...and...o-obey."
The moment Junhyung said those words, the ground started to rumble. The Archangels gestured their hands to Junhyung. White light started coming out from him and he started shouting as he felt the pain of losing his angelic blood. His brothers couldn't do anything else but look away.
Junhyung started feeling weak. His white hair was starting to turn black. All the power he possessed started to leave him.
After a few more agonizing minutes, Junhyung fainted, and he had now become a pure human.

Junhyung woke up from his bed the next day. His head felt like it was being pounded by a hammer. He gritted his teeth and massaged his temple before standing up from his bed. He held onto the wall for support, dragging his feet to the bathroom so he could wash his face.
When he finally got to the mirror, Junhyung saw his reflection and said nothing. After a few seconds of silence, he punched the mirror, causing his knuckles to bleed. But at this point, he didn't care anymore.
"Ah!!" He shouted in anger.
He walked out of the bathroom. He tried to produce lightning, but nothing came. He tried his other powers, but still, nothing came.
Junhyung, out of complete loss and anger, threw the vase that was on the side of his bed. Tears went out of his eyes as he sat down on the floor while the blood from his knuckle continued dripping.
The Arcs' leader was now completely human. Hatred started to grow inside him to the point where he wanted to just scream. An Angel could fight hatred, but humans can never do.
Junhyung leaned back on the bed and saw a crucifix hanging on the ceiling. He stood up from the floor and ran to where it was. He angrily looked at the image of his God and grabbed it. He got ready to throw it to the ground, but someone immediately entered his room to grab his hand just in time.
"Junhyung! What are you trying to do!?" Lay shouted, taking the crucifix away from Junhyung's hand.
Lay gently placed it on the bed and turned to Junhyung so he could face him. But when he saw what his brother looked like, he couldn't help but pity him. Junhyung's eyes were all red because of too much crying, and his knuckles were bleeding too. Lay could only sigh and hold Junhyung's hand to heal his bruises. When his hand was all healed, Junhyung grabbed his brother and hugged him tightly before crying louder.
"Please stop..." Lay pleaded, but Junhyung still continued.
Lay took a deep breath and gently kissed Junhyung's forehead to calm him.
Junhyung was never the crying type so Lay didn't know what else to do but pat his back as a sign of comfort. After calming himself down, Junhyung took a deep breath and moved away from the healer.
"Our brothers?" He asked.
"They left," Lay answered.
"Where to?" Junhyung asked further.
Lay shook his head and brushed his hair back with his fingers, "You know that I can't answer you that. Our Fathers clearly said that we cannot let you-"
Junhyung quickly stopped Lay and started begging him, "Please. I need to know Lay."
Lay couldn't say a word and just looked away, so Junhyung held Lay's cheeks so he could look back at him. Junhyung looked straight into his eyes and said, "Please, I need to know where my brothers are. Please, help me."
Lay sighed and finally said, "Fine, but you need to stay here."
Junhyung lets go of Lay and nodded his head as a reply.
"They were looking for Mark. Mark hasn't come home yet since yesterday. We called the university and they told us that Mark already left. Earlier they found out that Mark was at the park and they're on their way there now. They told me to stay here and look after you," Lay finally explained.
The moment Junhyung heard the news, he quickly discarded what Lay told him and ran off, leaving Lay frustrated by how stubborn their ex-leader was.
"Yong Junhyung! Seriously! I don't know what to do with you!"
*****
The park that Lay was referring to was close to the university so Junhyung got there in a snap. He was glad that he ran and took a shortcut because the Arcs weren't there yet.
"Mark!" Junhyung shouted when he saw Mark sitting on one of the benches, but Mark didn't respond. Junhyung went to where he was and grabbed his hand. "We're going home," he commanded, but Mark pushed him away and looked at him with a blank expression.
Junhyung angrily looked back at Mark again and said, "I said we're going home!"
"Hey, the kid doesn't want to go home, can't you see?" A voice said from behind.
Junhyung turned around, and to his surprise, he saw the Demons coming towards him.
"Wow Junhyung, the black hair suits you. Your white hair was too angelic for you so I'm glad you decided to change it," Jiyong said with a sarcastic tone. He then went closer to Junhyung and started sniffing his neck, making Junhyung unable to move. Fighting him now would mean death.
"The moment I saw you I knew what was up. Of course, Humans, Demons, and Angels will still be VERY different," Jiyong told him, then he pushed Junhyung, making him fall on the ground with no effort.
The Demons laughed. Junhyung was already too weak they could kill him right now if they wanted to. But of course, taunting him is way better.
"Who wants to do the honors!?" Jiyong shouted with an excited smile on his face.
"I'll do it," Jackson stated as he went closer to where Junhyung was. He kneeled down on one knee and lifted Junhyung's collar towards him so Junhyung could forcefully look up at him.
"This time, I won't be doing any illusions," Jackson continued with a smirk.
Junhyung looked at Mark with a scared expression, but Mark didn't even lift a finger to show any attempt of helping him.
"M-Mark! Help!" Junhyung now shouted, but Mark still didn't answer him. He pleaded once more, and this time, Mark stood up from his seat. He walked towards Junhyung and looked down at him, "An eye for an eye...a tooth for a tooth." He stated, and right after Junhyung couldn't move a muscle.
Mark just paralyzed him. Now that Junhyung was human, even angel powers could affect him.
Jackson smirked from the unexpected action. He was about to land a strong punch on the paralyzed Junhyung that could greatly damage him, but the Arcs arrived just in time to stop him.
Seunghyun ran to the scene and struck Jackson with powerful lightning, causing Jackson to be thrown a meter away from Junhyung. Then Lay, who informed the Arcs of Junhyung's escape, ran to where his paralyzed brother was and held onto his forehead so Junhyung could move again.
"Are you alright?" he asked him.
"Yes, I'm fine. Thanks," Junhyung answered as Lay helped him stand up.
Taeil went to where Jackson was and helped him up as well. The Demons were now face-to-face with the Arcs once again, while Mark was just standing in the middle.
"Mark! Come here before they hurt you!" Woohyun shouted, but Mark wasn't listening. Instead, he angrily looked at the Arcs and shouted at them, "Hurt me?! Weren't you the cause of my pain and sufferings?!"
"Mark, listen to us. They planned everything. You shouldn't be mad at us, you should be mad at them!" Sungjae tried to explain, but Mark didn't even budge.
"Hey Angels!" Sunggyu then shouted. When the Arcs' attention shifted to him, he continued, "Why not make your brother choose?"
The Arcs were surprised by the proposal, but Junhyung stepped forward and said, "Fine."
Seunghyun grabbed Junhyung's arm and angrily told him, "What do you think you're doing?! This is not for you to decide anymore Yong Junhyung!"
Junhyung ignored his brother and pushed his hand away from him. He then went even closer to Mark and showed him his hand, "Grab my hand if you choose us, turn around if you choose them."
The Arcs gasped as the Demons just looked calm and confident about Mark's decision.
"DEMONS or ANGELS?" Junhyung seriously asked him.
Everyone was anticipating for his answer, but Mark slowly grabbed Junhyung's hand, finally making the Arcs smile.
"I told you he would-"
"Demons..." Mark suddenly answered, shocking everyone.
"What did you just say?" Junhyung asked as he looked straight at Mark's eyes.
"Demons. I choose Demons," Mark repeated, making Junhyung's eyes widen from shock. His hand slowly falls down as he looked back at the Demons with anger. He clenched his fist when he saw the Demon's smiling.
"That's what I thought," said Sunggyu, quickly pulling Mark towards them. Junhyung was about to run towards his brother to take him back, but then all of them were covered in fire, quickly making him back away.
And when the fire disappeared, the Demons and Mark disappeared with it.
"N-No..." Junhyung stated in disbelief as tears started flowing out of his eyes. He slowly fell on his knees as he started shouting, "Take me instead! Don't do this to my brother! Please! Take me instead!"
Sungjae quickly ran to where Junhyung was and hugged him tightly.
The Arcs didn't say a word as the sky turned grey above them. Just a few seconds after, it started raining. It was as if their God was crying with them too.
