SDS1 08: EPIC BATTLE

THE SEVEN DEADLY SONS were walking down the hallway in their usual pyramid formation while students avoided them at all cause. Jackson told them about his encounter with Mark last night, and the sudden transformation of his pet snake, Invidia.

"How the fuck did he even know that you had the ring?!" Sunggyu asked, looking confused and angry about what Jackson just told them about his encounter last night.

"How would I know?!" Jackson asked back.

"So, did you hide our rings? Are you sure it's in a safe place?" Sunggyu asked, making sure their only way of controlling their powers are safely kept.

"Don't worry, Invidia has it," Jackson answered.

"Well speaking of powers, did you just say Mark had one?" Hyunseung then asked, making everyone look at Jackson with a curious expression.

"Yes, he paralyzed me with just one look. No one in our group could do that," Jackson explained, making them look worried and confused again.

"Are you sure it was him?" His brother Minhyuk asked again to confirm it.

"Yes! I'm sure! How on earth would I forget that demonic face of his?" Jackson asked, making Taeil chuckle on the irony of what Jackson just said.

While the sons continued walking, Suho suddenly thought of something. He stopped his brothers from walking any further and told them, "Okay, let's check. We had our training yesterday with Kharon. After that, we gave you the rings with the ancient box, then when you got home, someone tried to steal it from you. Maybe he knew we did our training, so he used it as an advantage because you'd be dead tired to fight back. But thankfully when you were paralyzed and hopeless, your pet turned into a human and saved you, makes sense?"

"Yup," everyone agreed. Then they started walking again.

"But still, how did he know that Jackson had the ring? Could he have some kind of vision that he could see us or something?" Minhyuk asked.

"That's something we need to think about, and we should train more too. Who knows, they could be as strong as us, or even worse, they could be STRONGER than us. Do you understand?" Sunggyu asked, and everyone nodded in agreement.

As they were walking down the hallway, a nerdy guy was suddenly in front of them, holding a pile of books.

"Hmm?" Taeil confusingly asked, staring at the boy in front of them who wasn't even moving. If you ask me he was scared as hell.

"Oh shit, that dudes fucked," whispered by a random student to the one beside him as they were looking at the sons having a staring contest with the freshman student.

The only thing the freshman could do was gulp as he looked at the one in front of the group, Kwon Jiyong. Jiyong gave out a loud sigh and commanded, "What are you staring at? Move." Then the guy suddenly dropped all the books he was holding and runs off.

"Pathetic," Jiyong stated as he stared at the scattered books on the floor.

"Jiyong, what the hell did you do? You scared him away!" Hyunseung shouted as he looked at his brother. Then Jiyong answered, "I didn't do anything! I don't know okay. For the past few days, everyone seems to be scared of us even though we haven't done anything."

The sons couldn't disagree because Jiyong was right. Ever since the incident with the Arcs at the cafeteria, everyone started to be scared of them even more. (Even though their father Asmodeus removed their memory of Hyunseung's eyes turning red and just randomly emitting black smoke). Demons and Arcs became the two big groups of Holy Angels University. Some even sold merchandise. Though it was rumored that Suho was the mastermind behind it.

"Okay then, let's carry the books and bring it to him," said Sunggyu, but the sons just blankly looked at him like their leader said something crazy.

"Are you serious? We'll be late if we..." But before Minhyuk could continue, Sunggyu stopped him. He looked at the students who were looking at them and said, "Hey douchebags, where do we find that boy?"

Without a second thought, all the students in the hallway answered, "The fourth year, engineering building!"

The demons were surprised because the dude earlier wasn't a freshman at all, but a senior. And they realized that if he WAS a freshman, they would have remembered him since the Demons were freshmen students themselves.

"Thanks. Now carry his books and let's go," Sunggyu commanded, then the sons had no choice but to follow him.

The Seven Deadly Sons went to the engineering building and asked around the area. They saw his name on the books that he dropped in the hallway so they asked the engineering students where he could be.

When the sons arrived at his room, Hyunseung knocked on the door, making the professor stop his discussion to open the door for them.

"Yes, how may I help you?" the professor asked. Then he suddenly flinched when he saw Minhyuk, Jackson, and Jiyong's aura.

"We're sorry to interrupt but is..." Hyunseung stopped and looked at the name on the book and continued, "Yol  here?"

"Ah, yes...but he went to the restroom just now," the professor answered.

"Oh really? Then can we leave this here? These books are his and he kinda dropped it in the hallway," Hyunseung explained.

"Okay then, let me have it and I'll put it on his desk," the professor stated, then Jiyong and the rest of the sons gave him the books and thanked him.

"Now that that's settled, let's get back to cl-" Minhyuk was cut off once again as Sunggyu stated, "We need to go to the restroom and apologize to him."

     "What?!" everyone asked in unison.

"Are you serious right now Sunggyu?" Said Taeil who looked tired.

"Are you crazy? We already gave the kid his goddamn books, why the fuck do we need to say sorry? It's not our fault he ran off like a lunatic," said Jiyong with a hint of annoyance in his voice.

"Kwon Jiyong!" Sunggyu scolded, making everyone quiet.

"Just because we're sons of demons doesn't mean we need to act like fuckin' jerks. Yes, we're demons, but we're still humans, and that's something that we should never forget," Sunggyu reminded them.

Everyone avoided Sunggyu's gaze because he was right. Just because they're sons of demons, doesn't mean they should act like a heartless person. Before they found out they were demons, they didn't act badly towards others because they knew that it was the humane thing to do. Just because they know about their demon blood doesn't give them a free pass.

The fact that such words were told by the biggest bully himself made it even more impactful. Sunggyu bullied others, but thanks to the ring, he realized his wrongdoings and stopped. He hoped that his brothers would understand where he's going.

"You heard him, let's go," this time, it was Hyunseung who commanded it, and surprisingly, everyone followed.

The Seven Sons arrived at the restroom where they suddenly saw the senior lying on the floor.

"Oh my god!" Taeil shouted from shock.

"Yol, are you okay?!" asked Suho as he ran to where the unconscious senior was.

"What the hell Jiyong? Did you scare him too much to the point that he'll faint?" Jackson stated, making Jiyong grab Jackson's collar because of anger.

"Why the fuck are you accusing me with something I didn't do?!"

Minhyuk pushed Jiyong away from and Jackson and said, "Are you seriously going to fight right now? The guy fainted for demon's sake!"

"He might be sick. Let's carry him," Hyunseung stated as he and Suho carried him up.

The seven sons were about to leave with Yol when a voice was suddenly heard, "Stop right there Demons."

The seven stopped and turned around. And there they saw the beautiful but dangerous phoenix, Kharon the Third.

     "Kharon?!" said everyone in shock.

"What are you doing here?!" Taeil asked, a little happy that he saw their mentor again.

"I used this child to lure you here. It would be a problem if people see us talking with each other," Kharon explained.

"So you chose the male's restroom in the engineering building?" Suho asked, making Kharon glare at him. When Suho apologized, Kharon gestured his hands, making the door automatically close. He then went to where Yol was and whispered, "Awake my child."

Yol's eyes slowly opened. The sons were shocked because his eyes were red. He then looked at Kharon and answered, "Father..." The seven sons were shocked. They didn't know that a demon could do such a thing. This was a power that they HAVE to learn.

"You did well my son. Now, when I snap my fingers you'll be back to normal," Kharon stated as he gently held his cheeks, then in a few seconds, the boy vanished.

     "Where did he..."

Suho was cut off as Kharon snapped his fingers and said, "Don't worry, that kid is in front of his classroom now."

"That's not the problem, isn't it? We need to make things clear here Kharon. Why the fuck are you here in our school?" Sunggyu seriously asked him.

"I'm the new priest in this school," Kharon suddenly blurted out.

The Seven Sons quietly looked at their mentor as he told them those words. Then after a few seconds, they all started laughing.

"You?! A priest in a catholic school like this!? That's funny Kharon!" Minhyuk stated as he was still laughing like crazy. Then they looked at Kharon who looked dead serious. Only then did they realize that he was wearing a priest outfit with HAU's logo.

"You're not joking aren't you?" Minhyuk asked, and Kharon replied with a nod.

     Everyone finally became quiet.

"Do the Arcs know you're here?" Sunggyu asked, breaking the awkward silence.

"I don't know yet. They might or might not know, but that's not a reason for us to not be careful about it, do you understand?"

     "Yes sir!" Everyone replied.

"Now, about the rings. I heard from Invidia that a human-angel tried to steal it from Jackson," Kharon suddenly revealed.

"Wait, you can understand Jackson's pet snake?" Taeil asked, but the seven completely ignored him.

"Yes, that's right. It was Mark who almost took the box." Jackson answered, ignoring Taeil as well.

Kharon became silent like he was thinking about something really serious. "The angels have powers right? But we don't know how strong they could be. What if they're planning something really big? What if they know all our plans?"

"Through what? Don't tell me they could hear us from afar," Minhyuk stated.

"That's not impossible. They might even know about what we're doing right now. Let's face it, their god will still be a thousand feet above the "King", literally and figuratively." Kharon told them, and the Demons couldn't agree more.

"Are you seriously trying to tell us that we don't have a chance against them?" Suho asked with a worried tone.

"No, I'm saying that their god might be so powerful that he already knows about what's gonna happen to us in the end. He created all the life-forms on earth. He created the "King". It just so happened that the King became selfish and wanted more, so he was brought to hell, now do you understand me?" Kharon explained.

"So, we only have two endings; it's to lose or to win," Sunggyu pointed out.

"You're wrong," Kharon told them, making everyone look back at him with confused expressions. If it's not losing or winning, what could their end be?

To clarify what he said, Kharon looked at the sons one by one, "You only have one ending my princes, and that's to defeat those bastards," Kharon stated with determination, making everyone smile in excitement.

Kharon was right. If they wanted to win, they needed to be positive about it. They can't make even the smallest mistake.

"So, what should we do now?" Taeil asked.

"We'll just wait. But first, you need to head back to your rooms before the professor asks where you've been. I promise we'll meet again." Kharon told them, and the seven sons went back to their rooms like what they were told. Surprisingly, the Arcs weren't found in both of their classrooms.

At first, the sons were wondering why they weren't present, but then they thought, "Why would we even care?"

*****

"Class dismissed."

Minhyuk and Hyunseung were left alone in their room. Like how they always do, Minhyuk stayed in his seat while Hyunseung arranged his things. But as he was doing it, Hyunseung suddenly felt something burn in his chest.

"M-Minhyuk..." Hyunseung stated as he held Minhyuk's shoulder tightly.

Minhyuk lifted his head and saw his friend looking pale. "JS, what's going on? Are you okay?!" Minhyuk asked as he looked at his weak best friend with panic.

     "I-I...feel something hot inside me..."

"W-What!? Should I bring you to the clinic or..."

Hyunseung quickly shook his head and weakly answered, "No, I think it's my powers. I'm not wearing my ring so my powers are burning inside me. I think my body can't handle it."

"Okay then, I'll tell Jackson to hand us the rings. Hang in their JS, I'll bring you to our brothers."

Minhyuk grabs hold of Hyunseung's things and carried him on his back, making Hyunseung's admirers furious. But Hyunseung wasn't wearing the ring so he was emitting an erotic aura, making everyone lust over him.

     "Guys!"

The 2 arrived at the parking lot where the other sons were waiting for them. They were supposed to buy a cage for Invidia, but with Hyunseung's case, I think the cage has to wait.

"JS! What happened to him?" asked Jiyong as he helped Minhyuk with Hyunseung's things.

Minhyuk placed Hyunseung inside Suho's car and said, "His powers are going wild and his body can't take it. We need the ring now."

"But he was fine earlier right?" Taeil confusingly asked.

"We don't know, but we need to give Hyunseung his ring or he might just explode. Minhyuk and Jackson, accompany Hyunseung. Suho, you drive your car, we'll just catch up," Sunggyu quickly instructed, making everyone immediately do what they were told.

Minhyuk, Suho, and Jackson were about to enter the car when seven 'innocent men' suddenly arrived at the scene, stopping the sons.

"Arcs," Sunggyu stated as he stared at the seven men in front of them.

     "Demons," Junhyung answered back.

Without any warning, Jackson ran to where Mark was and pulled his shirt towards him. The Arcs, and so were the Demons, were shocked at Jackson's sudden action. It was too sudden that no one could even do anything.

"What the hell are you doing Jackson?!" Jiyong shouted as he just stared at his furious brother.

"You were the one who broke into my house. How could you do such a cowardly move like that?!" Jackson angrily shouted at Mark's face. But Mark only pushed Jackson away from him. Jackson was shocked because he didn't expect that a small guy like him could lightly push him away like that. He knew instantly that these Arcs were no doubt stronger.

"What the hell are you talking about asshole?! I didn't break in anyone's house", Mark defended.

"Are you fucking telling me I'm a liar?!" Jackson angrily shouted, and Seunghyun went in between them and answered back, "You don't have any proof that he did such a thing demon."

"That's none of your goddamn business Choi," Jiyong said as he pushed Seunghyun away from Jackson and Mark.

As the two were fighting, Jackson suddenly saw something on Mark. Something that he could use to backfire on them.

"You want proof? What about that?" asked Jackson as he pointed at Mark's arm that had a snake bite.

The Arcs suddenly looked surprised. They didn't expect that at all.

"T-That's just a..." Before Mark could defend himself, Woohyun stopped him and said, "Arcs, we need to submit our absence slip now."

"He's right, don't waste your time with these losers," Sungjae continued.

Everything would have been fine, but Minhyuk suddenly flinched when he heard the word that he hated so much, "L-Losers?"

You could call him in any name you like, but not loser, especially not "loser." The history behind it? Well, when he was bigger, people kept on calling him a loser, that's why he exercised and became fit. But now that he's fit, he won't allow anyone to call him that 'L' word again.

"Watch your mouth you bastard!" Minhyuk shouted as he quickly went to where Sungjae was and strangled him.

Sungjae was slowly turning pale as Minhyuk continued to strangle him. The Arcs were shocked and confused at the same time, but the Seven Demons, on the other hand, knew about Minhyuk's power called life draining. The only problem was that they weren't sure if this was the right time to use it.

"Sungjae!" the Arcs shouted from shock.

Lay was about to help his brother, but it was too late because Minhyuk already drained Sungjae's energy. He lets go of Sungjae, and Sungjae's lifeless body fell to the ground. Lay and Jihoon quickly went to Sungjae's side to help him up.

The Arcs looked at Minhyuk who was emitting the same aura that Hyunseung emitted when they were at the cafeteria. The Arcs felt a little afraid because they found out that they were too late. The demons already found out about their powers.

"Leave us alone!" Minhyuk commanded, his voice a little lower than before.

"How dare you do this to our brother?!" Jihoon shouted back, and in an instant, everything stopped, even the falling leaves.

    "What the-"

The Seven sons were surprised by what Jihoon just did. No one in their group could stop time like that. Highly trained demons such as their fathers and Kharon were the only ones who could do it.

"If it's a fight you want..." Junhyung stated as he pointed at Hyunseung who was silently sitting inside Suho's car. With his eyes filled with anger, he continued, "It's a fight you'll get Demons."

Lightning went out of Junhyung's index fingers, hitting Hyunseung right on the chest.

     "JS!" Taeil shouted.

If the demons could produce fire, the Arcs could produce lightning like a Greek god called Zeus. And with that act alone, the demons now have a little knowledge of what these angles are capable of.

"You assholes!" Taeil shouted back as he looked at Hyunseung who was now unconscious inside Suho's car.

"Sons, it's do or die!" Sunggyu told his brothers as his weapon automatically appeared on his hand in an instant. Then in just a split second, the sons of hell and heaven were fighting while Hyunseung and Sungjae were unconscious, not knowing about what was happening to their brothers.

"You need to kill us first before you could obtain those rings!" Jackson shouted as he was trying to claw Seunghyun away, but Seunghyun was faster than he expected.

The parking lot was a mess. The sons were fighting like it was their first and last fight with each other. But as time passed by, the angels felt weaker. They didn't expect the Demons to be that strong just after a day. The Demons' one-day training paid off because they somehow managed to level their strength with the Arcs - a group of seven half-angels who practically trained their whole lives.

"Game over," Sunggyu declared as he was panting heavily. He looked at the worn-out angels in front of him and continued, "This is where it ends." But when they thought they were about to win the battle, the angels looked at each other and lifted their right hand to the sky, almost like they were reaching for something, "God the Father! We surrender!"

The Demons were surprised, but nothing happened after that, so the seven sons couldn't help but laugh at how pathetic the Arcs looked.

"God?" Jiyong questioned, and then he continued, "Your god is weak now. There are more sinners than saints. And the more the sinners, the stronger our King will become."

Junhyung looks at Jiyong. Then, he smirked and said, "That's where you're wrong demon." The ground started trembling right after his sentence, making the sons confused and scared at the same time.

"Our God will forever be stronger than your pathetic king," Junhyung finished, and lighting went down from the sky, directly aimed at the Demons. But just in time, their animal turned human guardians arrived at the scene and embraced them, causing them to get hit by the lightning instead. Though it didn't protect them completely because the six deadly sons became unconscious. And so did their guardians.

Through this epic battle, the sons found out that their skills and powers...

     Were still no doubt weaker...

     Compared to their rivals.
