SDS1 06: GETTING INFORMATION

THE SONS HAVE NOW met their enemies, and at the same time, they had a quick conversation with the ruler of realm Lust, Asmodeus, who gave them the ability to summon their weapons and showed them a list of their powers. Tomorrow will be the start of their journey, but before that, they must tell their mothers about their plan, especially Minhyuk who was all nervous on their way to Taeil's home.

"Guys, I can't do this," Minhyuk said as he clutched on his phone.

"Then don't come with us," Jiyong stated while he was playing video games with Jackson.

The seven arrived at Taeil's house minutes ago, and they told Taeil's mom about the meeting they had with one of their fathers. She was happy and worried at the same time, but was glad they arrived back safely.

They told her about the reason why they'll be cutting classes tomorrow and she allowed it. After all, it was for their own good. But Sunggyu wasn't satisfied, so he told his brothers to call their moms about their plan tomorrow, and as a good follower, they did, well except for Minhyuk who kept on walking and looking at his phone.

"Then let me talk to mom for you," Hyunseung offered.

"No. Let me do it," Minhyuk finally stated.

"Then why aren't you actually doing it?!" Sunggyu angrily asked, frustrated that Minhyuk hasn't done it yet.

"Just... give me a sec," Minhyuk struggled to say as everyone looked at him. Minhyuk sighed and nodded his head in determination, "Here I go", he stated as he finally called his mother. After one ring, his mother immediately answered his call.

"Hello? Minhyuk?" His mother answered. Everyone encouraged him to speak, so Minhyuk showed them an okay sign, "Yeah mom, it's me."

"Oh hi darling, are you with your brothers?" She asked, and Minhyuk cleared his throat and answered, "Yes mom. They're with me. We're staying Taeil's house today."

"I see. So did you already eat?"

"Y-yeah, we already ate," Minhyuk nervously answered, making Hyunseung hit his forehead because of frustration.

"Stop stalling Minhyuk!" the six sons shouted in unison due to impatience.

"Is everything alright son?" Minhyuk's mother asked, and Minhyuk took a deep breath and finally told her, "We met the Arcs yesterday, they're the guys who will kill us, so father Asmodeus talked to us through our dean and gave us weapons and a list of our powers, and then he told us that we have to look for information about them." Minhyuk explained without pausing, causing him to catch his breath right after.

"Are you actually asking for permission to cut class tomorrow?" Minhyuk's mother asked, so Minhyuk gulped and confirmed it, "Yes?"

"Well if your father told you about it then go ahead." Minhyuk's mother casually answered, and the sons cheered.

"Thanks, mom. I'll call you later okay?"

"Okay, love you Minhyuk. And tell your brothers that I love them and they should be careful too."

"Alright, love you too. Bye," Minhyuk stated as he hanged up and placed his phone on the table.

"So what did mom say?" Suho asked the moment Minhyuk ended the call.

Minhyuk walked closer to his brother and answered, "She told me that she loves you and you should be careful too," Minhyuk stated as he sat down on the floor beside Sunggyu.

"Not that you idiot," Sunggyu said as he pushed him. Minhyuk chuckled and adjusted himself, "Okay, okay. I'll stop stalling."

"So, what did she say?" Taeil asked, and the six sons looked at Minhyuk, waiting for their brother is about to say.

Minhyuk seriously looked at them and answered, "She said no," shocking his six brothers.

"What?! She actually said no?!" Jiyong said with shock, but then Minhyuk started laughing, "Nah, I'm just messing with you. Of course, she would say yes," Minhyuk clarified, almost making Jiyong hit him.

"You bastard," Sunggyu stated as he tackled Minhyuk, then the rest of the brothers joined in and started tickling him until Minhyuk was laughing so hard he couldn't even breathe anymore.

"O-okay...I give up," Minhyuk struggled to say as the six sons finally stopped and joined Minhyuk on his nonstop laughter.

"Now that that's settled," Sunggyu finally stated, making the six sons become serious.

"How are we going to start our information gathering?" Sunggyu continued, and Suho leaned coolly at Jackson, who just pushed him away the moment he did it. So Suho cleared his throat and composed himself again, "I told you Sunggyu, let me handle it. I have a guy that knows everything that's happening inside and outside of Seoul," Suho stated as he puts his arms around Sunggyu and gave him the I-can-handle-this look.

Sunggyu pushed Suho's arm away and told him, "Fine, but you better make sure that the information of your "guy" will give to us is reliable."

"Of course Sunggyu," Suho confidently stated, and Sunggyu nodded. While the sons were talking about their plans for tomorrow, someone knocked on the door, stopping them mid-conversation.

"Come in!" Taeil shouted, then the door opened and revealed Taeil's mom.

"Are you boys comfortable?" Taeil's mom asked as she closed the door behind her.

"Yes mom," the seven sons replied in unison.

"That's good. And here, I brought extra pillows and some blankets," Taeil's mom said as she placed it on the bed and went back to the door.

"You seven should rest because tomorrow will be a busy day for you all," Taeil's mom said, and the seven sons nodded as an answer.

"Okay, good night boys," she stated as she opened the door.

"Night mom," the seven sons said in unison, and Taeil's mom smiled and went out.

"Okay guys, you heard what mom said. Time to sleep," Sunggyu commanded as he stood up and placed the extra pillows on the mattress on the floor.

Hyunseung, Minhyuk, Suho and Taeil lied down on Taeil's bed while Sunggyu, Jackson, and Jiyong lied down on the mattress on the floor, which surprised most of them because Jiyong didn't complain about sleeping on the floor, not even once.

*****

The Six sons were at the dining table eating the breakfast Taeil's mom prepared.

"Okay man, see you there," Suho said as he hanged up the phone and joined his brothers at the table.

"So where's your friend?" Jiyong asked as he took a sip from his cup of coffee.

"He's at a café in Myeong-Dong," Suho answered, sitting beside Jiyong and taking his cup away from his hand so he could take a sip too. Jiyong glared at his brother, but he doesn't say anything and takes a piece of bread instead.

"Okay, so how are we going there?" Minhyuk asked, and Suho answered, "My car is at home."

"Mine too," Sunggyu and Jiyong answered at the same time.

"You can use my car," Taeil's mom suddenly offered, making everyone look her way.

"Is it okay mom? Aren't you going to use it?" Taeil asked.

"It's okay. Today's my day-off," Taeil's mom answered while washing the dishes.

"But we can't fit in your car," Taeil pointed out, so his mother dried her hand on the apron that she was wearing and went to the key rack. She looked back at her son and threw two car keys at him. Taeil almost couldn't catch them, "Use both of them." she told him, and the sons looked at her with shock.

When the seven sons were finished eating breakfast, they all went to the garage to get the cars that Taeil's mother generously lent to them.

"I bet mom's car is just an ordinary one," Jiyong rudely stated, making the five sons glared at him.

"What? I'm just saying," Jiyong defended, but when the garage door opened, everyone was surprised to see three expensive cars. Inside the garage was a white 2014 Lexus CT, a gray Mercedes-Benz CL65 AMG Coupe, and a black Lexus SUV. (I know, those cars were cool when we wrote this book years ago okay? I don't have time to search for newer versions )

"You have two Lexus cars?" asked Jiyong in surprise.

"Yeah, why? You thought I was poor?" Taeil asked with his right eyebrow raised.

"Yes," Jiyong bluntly replied, making Hyunseung smack the back of his head.

"What the fuck?!" Jiyong angrily stated as he glared at Hyunseung while rubbing his head. But Hyunseung pretty much didn't care and just continued to look at the cars in front of them.

"But seriously I thought that you're... you know," Suho tried to say, and the others understood and nodded, except Jackson because he knew about this too.

"Well, my mom is currently working at the Lexus branch here at Seoul, and these are actually a promotion gift from the company. While the Mercedes is her personal birthday gift to herself" Taeil proudly answered.

"Two cars means two promotions," Hyunseung realized, and Taeil nodded and said, "Yeah, my mom got promoted twice this year."

"Whoa, that's pretty awesome," Minhyuk honestly commented while admiring the cars.

"Anyway, Minhyuk, Hyunseung, Jackson, you guys go with Suho. Taeil and I will go with Jiyong," Sunggyu instructed, and everyone nodded in agreement. Everyone went to their respective cars. Suho drove ahead while Jiyong followed behind him. They arrived at Myeong Dong – one of the shopping district of Seoul – after a few minutes of driving.

"Let's go guys," Suho stated as the Demons went out of their parked cars. When they entered the café, everyone instantly looked their way. Their presence was undoubtedly strong that anyone who would see them would look at them twice.

"Oh, over here!" Steve – Suho's friend – shouted when he saw Suho. So Suho waved at him and the sons went to where he was seated.

"It's been a while boss," Steve stated, standing from his seat to bow at Suho. Suho patted his shoulder, then he gestures at the sons and said, "I would like you to meet my brothers."

Steve looks at Jackson and the others with a confused expression before looking back at Suho, "Brothers? I thought you're an only child," Steve asked, but Suho just shrugged his shoulders as an asnwer. He didn't want to explain all the complicated details to him.

Steve wanted to ask further, but he knew that he wasn't going to get anything from Suho.

"Nice meeting you guys, I'm Steve. And please have a seat," Steve introduced instead, and everyone took a seat.

"I ordered something for all of us, is it okay?" Steve asked when everyone got settled down.

"Yeah, it's alright, thank you," Sunggyu politely stated, making Steve smile.

"So, did you find something?" Suho then asked, making Steve smile widely, automatically making Suho realize that he actually did find something.

"So?" The seven sons asked in unison, but a waiter arrived and placed 8 cups of coffee on their table and left. Steve took his cup and casually started drinking his coffee, making the seven Demons look at him with shock; annoyed that he just left them hanging like that.

"Steve! Goddamn it!" Suho shouted rather loudly, making the people inside the café start staring at them. Steve flinched and quickly mumbled the words, "Sorry," and the people went back to their own businesses.

"Chill out boss," Steve stated as he placed his cup down.

"Just tell us the information already," Hyunseung stated as he was starting to get impatient. He simply looked straight at Steve's eyes, and this made him blush like crazy. The sons looked at each other and thought, "He really is the son of lust."

Steve cleared his throat and finally continued, "Okay, the guys you told me about just moved here at Seoul last Friday. And if I remember correctly, that was your birthday," Steve answered as he looked at Suho.

"Coincidence?" Taeil asked with his right eyebrow raised.

"It's obviously planned," Sunggyu answered, and the rest of the sons agreed.

     "What else?" Minhyuk asked next.

Steve looked tried to remember the rest, and when he did, he looked back at the demons and said, "They all live in this newly built mansion just a few blocks away from your campus. No one's with them, like a parent or a guardian."

"Well, they're old enough to live by themselves," Jackson commented.

"I know, but they're financially supported by someone. A close relative maybe?" Steve then added before taking a sip of his drink.

"Okay, anything else?" Suho asked further.

"A man visits them from time to time. I'd say he lives there, but my sources told me that he leaves every night," Steve told them, and the sons looked at each other, almost as if they were mentally communicating.

"They followed him one last night, and apparently he's a regular at some bars and clubs here," Steve added as everyone continued drinking the coffee that Steve bought for them.

"Could it be like a guardian angel?" Taeil asked as he looked at Sunggyu.

Sunggyu nodded his head and replied, "I think so."

"Anything else?" Suho asked again, and Steve shook his head as an answer, "I don't have anything else. That's the only information I got on your short notice," Steve honestly told him, and Suho looked at his brothers and they all nodded.

"That was very helpful, thanks man. You never disappoint me," Suho said as he and his brother stood up from their seats.

"No problem. Anything for the boss," Steve answered as he stood up as well. Suho then moved close to him and handed him an envelope.

"What's this for?" Steve asked as he looked at the envelope on his hand.

Suho smiled and patted his friend's shoulder, "For the trouble...and the coffee."

Steve thanked his boss, bowed at him, and left. When he left, the sons decided to continue their conversation at the park where they first met all of their fathers. They could have just stayed at the café, but no, they decided to talk about this in an open area.

"So those jerks arrived in Seoul on our birthday. They live near our university, and they all live together. But they have someone who's watching over them who apparently goes to bars every night," Hyunseung stated as he summarized all the information that they got from Steve.

"That's about it, but it's not enough. It's nothing that could really help us," Sunggyu honestly stated.

"Yeah, but how can we find more information about those assholes?" Jackson asked, and then Taeil thought of something and quickly looked at their leader, "Sunggyu, did you bring the list of our powers?"

"Uhm...yeah," Sunggyu confusingly answered as he took out the paper from his pocket.

Taeil took it from Sunggyu and looked at the list. Then he said, "I think it's better if we practice our skills first, right? What if they suddenly attack us again. I suppose Hyunseung's incident wouldn't be the last time, correct?"

"Taeil has a point," Sunggyu stated. So being the leader figure that he was, he took back the paper from Taeil's hand and stated, "We need to look for a place where we could practice. Somewhere bigger or hidden."

Jiyong clapped his hands together and quickly stood up from the bench that he was sitting on, "Come on," Jiyong suddenly stated without looking at his brothers. All of his brothers looked at him confusingly, so he explained, "Have you forgotten? I'm the son of a billionaire. I can build a whole mall for us with one command if I wanted to."

Everyone just stared at their prideful brother with shock.

Hyunseung even double-checked Jiyong's finger if he was still wearing the ring, which he actually still was. It looks like Jiyong's pridefulness is just his true personality so with or without the ring, he'd still be like that.

Jiyong ignored his brothers' reaction and continued, "So, what do you guys want? A pub? A clubhouse? An underground layer? A mansion? You name it!"

"How about our backyard?" Jackson suggested instead.

"Does it have walls? Can we be hidden there?" Sunggyu asked, and Jackson answered a simple, "Yes."

"Then it's settled. While searching for the right location, we'll practice at Jackson's backyard for the meantime," Sunggyu explained.

"Sound like a great pl-" Before Taeil could finish his sentence, Jiyong went in front the six deadly sons and said, "Seriously?! You'll throw away your chances of having a pub, in exchange for a small backyard?"

"It's better than having nothing Jiyong. And if good things happen to us, we'll accept it. But building a pub or a mansion wouldn't help us at all. It will only waste our time. Don't waste your parent's money on things like that," Sunggyu seriously answered, and the sons couldn't help but agree.

Jiyong looked pissed, but he didn't say anything anymore because he knew he was somehow right about it.

"Fine. But if good things happen to us, we'll build ALL of it, got it?" Jiyong commanded as he went back to where he was first seated. He crossed his arm in irritation, so Minhyuk, who was sitting beside him, placed his arm around Jiyong's shoulder and said, "Of course, anything for our most powerful brother," then he winked, only making Jiyong push Minhyuk away from him out of disgust.

"Enough with the games guys, we need to hurry up and practice," Sunggyu commanded as everyone stood up and went back to Mrs. Lee's cars.

When they arrived at the Wang's residence that's a few meters away from the park, the seven sons proceeded at the backyard of Jackson's house.

And there it was official. It was time for them to finally learn how to control their unknown abilities

"So, what do we do? Should we take the rings off or something?" Suho asked as he was staring at his ring.

Then Hyunseung realized that his brother was right and said, "Suho has a point. Didn't our fathers say that the reason we have these rings are to suppress our powers? How can we practice if we keep on suppressing it?"

"Then let's take it off, simple as that," Taeil stated as he was lazily sitting on the grass. Then Jackson went in front of them and said, "I'll hide the rings. I have a cabinet on my room with a lock. It would be safe there while we practice."

"Okay then, let's take our rings off brothers," Sunggyu instructed and everyone followed. As soon as they removed the ring on their finger, everything suddenly stopped. But the skies weren't red like before. It just stopped, no added special effects.

"What's going on?" Jiyong asked as he looked around the area cautiously.

While everyone was getting ready to what might appear, something suddenly appeared in thin air. It was something that the Seven Deadly Sons did not expect. Something that they never knew they'll ever be able to witness.

     "No freakin' way."
