SDS1 02: SEVEN SONS

"THAT FUCKING IDIOT! WHAT was he thinking?" Sunggyu angrily asked. Though the ring is helping him suppress his anger, it seems that Sunggyu is just naturally ill-tempered, so there's nothing that the ring could do about that.

"What should we do? We need to complete the seven sons before those angels arrive," Taeil said as the four of them stared at the hallway where Jiyong just escaped from.

"Don't worry, our friend is like that ever since we were young. He's a little prideful so we just need to make him understand the current situation better," Suho explained, and the three nodded in agreement.

Then Sunggyu placed Jiyong's ring inside his pocket and said, "I'll keep this just in case of emergencies."

"So guys, what sons are you?" Suho suddenly asked. Everyone was hesitant because the conversation was strange, but Sunggyu cleared his throat and answered anyway, "Anger."

"Ah!" Said the three in unison, making Sunggyu look at them with his right eyebrow raised.

"What do you mean by 'Ah'?" Sunggyu asked them, and everyone quickly turned their heads to avoid his deadly glare.

"Hey, I'm hungry. Wanna go to the cafeteria together?" Suho quickly diverted. Everyone agreed and left just to avoid Sunggyu's question.

"Suho! I was talking to you!" Sunggyu shouted, but the three students ignored him and continued walking away.

When they arrived at the cafeteria, everyone started staring at the four men walking together. They all had the question, "Why are the big eyed-glasses dude and the big loner hanging out with the most popular students in our year?" It was a peculiar bunch, and no one expected to see such a combination.

"So, what do you guys want to eat? My treat," Suho asked as he looked at the three.

Jackson and Taeil looked at each other confusingly. Then Jackson looked back at Suho and asked him,  "We just started a proper conversation earlier and now you're going to treat us lunch?"

"Well, we're sons of demons, and we're typically princes of hell too, so doesn't that make us brothers? And before I thought that I was alone, but now that I have you guys, I feel like I'll never be alone again!" Suho babbled with great enthusiasm, not even caring if others heard him or not.

Jackson and Taeil were quietly staring at Suho when Sunggyu blurted out, "That's fucking weird Suho."

Suho laughed and said back, "I know right? Why the hell am I suddenly saying that?" Then the three started laughing with him.

"Well I hate to break it to you guys but our rings are glowing again," Taeil butted in as he noticed their rings lighting up again like before. The four human-demon children looked around them, hoping to see someone's finger glowing.

"That's strange. They're not wearing any ring, and nothing's glowing on their fingers," Suho stated in disappoinment, so Jackson scratched his chin and added, "Could it be that the power of the ring is getting stronger because we already found each other?"

"Possibly, but where could that son of a demon be?" Sunggyu asked, trying to look closely at the students passing by them. As they continue looking for whoever might just have a glowing ring, two students walked in front of them, making the ring on their hands feel hotter, almost like it burned them.

"G-Guys, did you feel that?" Taeil asked when he looked back at the three men beside him.

Sunggyu saw who it was. He froze in his place when he realized that the students who they were looking for were actually Jang Hyunseung and the boy he kept on bullying, Lee Minhyuk.

"It's them!" Shouted Suho, and the four of them immediately chased after the two.

"Wait! Lee Minhyuk!" Shouted Sunggyu as he pushed the students who were blocking his path. Minhyuk wasn't able to hear him so when Sunggyu got close enough, he grabbed his shoulder, accidentally grabbing it too aggressively.

Minhyuk stopped walking, and so did Hyunseung.

Sunggyu caught his breath and said, "Thanks for stopping, I just wanted to-"

Hyunseung and Minhyuk didn't wait for Sunggyu to finish his sentence because without any warning, Minhyuk lifted his hand and got ready to punch him. Good thing Jackson was quick. He went in between them and held onto Minhyuk's hand just seconds before he could punch Sunggyu.

"You don't know who you're going to punch...brother," Jackson stated with a serious tone.

"Brother? What the hell are you talking about?" Minhyuk confusingly asked. But as he was trying to pull his hand off Jackson, Minhyuk saw the ring on his finger lit up.

     "You're-"

Hyunseung quickly stopped Minhyuk from saying anything further since the students in the cafeteria were already looking at them, "Let's talk at a place where it's more private, shall we?" He suggested, and the rest of them looked around the area where they were standing.

     "Great idea."

The human-demons nodded their heads and went to the rooftop to talk things through, but all were confused and puzzled when they got there. Why them? Was the question that they were asking themselves. Why Sunggyu, why Suho, why Taeil, why Minhyuk? Everyone was just confused on the absurd combination.

The six of them never talked with each other before. They don't even know what their full names were, so how could they possibly unite with each other with those circumstances?

"Well, I'm Lee Taeil, nice to meet the two of you," said Taeil as he was about to shake Hyunseung's hand, but Hyunseung just ignored him and looked away.

"It's useless Taeil. Don't waste your energy with those two," Jackson stated as he pulled his friend closer to him instead.

Jackson, Taeil, Sunggyu, and Suho were standing next to each other, while Minhyuk and Hyunseung were standing in front of them. When no one said a word, Jackson continued, "So, what's your father ruling? The realm of the assholes?" He bravely asked Hyunseung, and the insult was something that the son of lust did not take lightly.

"What did you just say?!" Hyunseung shouted from complete anger. Minhyuk grabbed Jackson's collar for the sake of his best friend, but Hyunseung stopped him from doing anything further since the insult was directed towards him anyways.

"Look, we're not here to fight with each other. I know all of us are confused, and we don't really know each other that much, but let's try and get along," Suho suggested.

"I doubt that 'getting along' is even in Sunggyu's dictionary," Minhyuk pointed out. Sunggyu flinched, but he didn't say nor do anything. He felt like he didn't have the right to.

"Minhyuk, let's just go," Hyunseung stated as the two of them were about to leave, but Suho tried to stop them again.

"Why the fuck is this guy acting so high and mighty? He's even more irritating than Kwon Jiyong," Jackson whispered, but it was loud enough for Suho to hear. So Suho grabbed Hyunseung's shoulder and pulled him, making him forcefully look at Suho.

"Jang Hyunseung, you're lust aren't you?" Suho asked as he lets go of his shoulder.

Hyunseung looked at him with his right eyebrow raised and answered, "Yeah, what about it?"

"Lust is the lowest sin in hell, so don't think you're some kind of god. We're the seven deadly sons and we represent the seven deadly sins. Lust is the lowest, next to Glutton, Greed, Sloth, Wrath, Envy and the strongest is Pride, which is Jiyong," Suho explained, and everyone was surprised that Suho knew such information.

"K-Kwon Jiyong?" Minhyuk asked with shock.

"Kwon Ji Yong? Then why isn't he here?" Hyunseung asked because Jiyong, Suho, and Sunggyu are friends, so he assumed that he'd be with them.

"Because he's not like us. He didn't accept his fate wholeheartedly," Sunggyu explained to Hyunseung.

When everyone was now looking at him, Sunggyu continued, "We were born like this for a reason, and fighting or not understanding each other was not part of those reasons. I know I've been an ass to you Minhyuk and I'm sorry. And I know this will sound like an excuse but I'm the son of wrath. Though I don't want you to forgive me, I want you to try and understand me instead. At least pretend you're happy about this for the sake of our fathers."

The sons looked at each other with surprise. They didn't know Sunggyu could sound so wise.

"F-Fine..." Minhyuk stated, making the rest of them look at his direction. "And okay, I forgive you. I guess we're the only human-demons in the world so we'll only have each other in the end. Let's work together well okay?" Minhyuk asked as he reached his hand for a handshake, and Sunggyu shook it with a smile on his face.

"Wasn't that so bad?" Taeil asked with a voice like he was talking to a baby, making everyone chuckle.

"So what now prince of wrath?" Minhyuk asked as he looked at Sunggyu.

"Now, let's look for our prideful brother," Sunggyu simply answered, and the rest of them nodded in agreement. Everyone was going out, but Minhyuk stopped and told them, "But we still have classes."

The sons looked back at him with confused expressions while Hyunseung wanted to bitch slap himself because of how Minhyuk was acting.

"Then we'll skip it," Jackson answered naturally since he always did that before. And his answer shocked Minhyuk like Jackson just revealed the secret to the universe.

Minhyuk didn't want to do such a thing. He had his records of being a great student at Holy Angels University. He wasn't going to change that just for Kwon Jiyong.

"But we'll get in trouble!" He whined.

The rest of the demons continued to look at Minhyuk with confusion, so Sunggyu grabbed his shoulder and said with a smirk, "We're demons now Minhyuk. We practically invented trouble."

*****

The six deadly sons did cut classes and started searching for Kwon Ji Yong, but the son of pride was nowhere to be found on the campus, so they decided to search outside. But the same results came out. Jiyong was gone.

After hours of walking around the city, they arrived at the park near the place where Jackson and Taeil lives and rested their feet since they were already out of ideas on where Jiyong could possibly be hiding.

"Jiyong's not answering his phone. He's not at his house, his step-father's company, or at the places where we always hang out. Where could that asshole be?!" Sunggyu shouted, now frustrated and tired at the same time.

"Guys, it's late. We better go home and just talk to him tomorrow," Taeil suggested since his body already felt weak. He might have suppressed his lazy habits, but his body was still not used to it yet.

"Let's just sit here for a while," Jackson told him as he assisted his friend to sit on the bench. While everyone was trying to catch their breaths, Hyunseung saw someone he wasn't quite familiar with.

"Wait guys, is that Kwon Jiyong?" Hyunseung asked as he pointed at the guy who was sitting under a tree just a few meters away from them.

Everyone turned their heads, and like what Hyunseung said, it was Kwon Jiyong.

"Kwon Jiyong that asshole!" Sunggyu shouted in full rage as he barges his way towards his friend. He was about to shout at him, but he stopped when he saw that Jiyong was asleep.

"Really, this guy is hopeless," Sunggyu stated with a sigh, now trying to calm down.

"So this was the guy we were looking for all day?" Hyunseung asked since he wasn't really familiar with his face. He knew Sunggyu, and he knew he had friends, but he never really saw them upclose until now.

As the six were staring at the sleeping Jiyong, Jackson suddenly went in front of him and started kicking him.

"Wake up you lazy bum," he bravely said.

"J-Jackson...I don't think it's a good idea to kick him like that," Taeil stated, trying to push his friend away. But since Jackson was stronger, Taeil's effort was useless.

"Don't worry Taeil. I'm the second most dangerous sin in hell," he answered with a smirk.

"But he's the first!" Taeil shouted back, but Jackson continued on kicking him anyway. He was about to kick him once more when Jiyong suddenly held his feet tightly, making Jackson unable to move. He was trying to pull his feet away from Jiyong's grasp, but Jiyong's hold was just too strong.

"Looks like you woke the devil up," Suho stated as Jiyong slowly opened his eyes and said, "Who do you think you're kicking at...asshole?" Then Jiyong twisted Jackson's feet, making him fall and moan in pain.

     "Ah! You son of a..."

Taeil, Hyunseung and Minhyuk helped Jackson up as Suho and Sunggyu scolded their stubborn friend.

"Wasn't that too much Jiyong?" Sunggyu asked as he held Jiyong's collar tightly and pulled it up, forcing him to stand on his feet.

"He was kicking me and you just stared at him. What kind of friends are you?" Jiyong angrily asked as he pushed Sunggyu off him and continued, "I'm going home. You weirdoes could hang out with each other. I could find cooler friends than you losers."

"Why won't you believe in this Jiyong? Is this something you just can't accept or what?!" Suho now shouted, trying to stop his friend from leaving.

"Look Suho, I don't believe in something I haven't even seen." Jiyong took his bag and was about to leave the park when out of nowhere, everything stopped. The flying birds stopped flying, the swaying trees stopped swaying. Minhyuk even looked at his watch and found out it also stopped ticking too.

"Am I dreaming?" Taeil asked in confusion, but everyone was just as clueless.

As the sons were waiting for something to happen, the sky and the moon turned red and a huge fire appeared in front of them.

"What's happening?!" One of them shouted in fear.

The seven sons were backing away from the large fire in front of them. The fire got bigger and bigger, but underneath it, they saw seven human-like figures.

The fire dispersed in an instant, and everyone was surprised to see that the seven figures were actually demons. They looked like humans, but they had horns, bat-like wings, and a long tail. It was something that they only saw in picture books that adults would show to kids so they could scare them.

The seven sons just looked at them with shock. No words could even come out of their mouths. Some still had doubts about their fathers being demons, but now, all the doubts they once had just completely vanished.

The seven rulers went closer to where Sunggyu and the others were. Then the demon standing in the middle stated, "I am Lucifer, the ruler of the realm Pride. And you, my son, has been a great successor of my powers." His voice sounded like thousands of voices were saying it altogether. It was so loud that it echoed to the farthest that the eyes could see, and their presence was so dark the seven sons felt weak. Not to mention their eyes were piercing red. Everything about them was just intimidating.

"F-Father?" Jiyong called out. He was unsure if this was all real, so he tried to reach out and hold him, but Lucifer quickly backed away.

"We cannot be in contact with each other," Lucifer stated.

"We have escaped the realms and went on earth just for Lucifer's prideful son," Leviathan (Jackson's father) then explained.

"Y-You're real. This can't be true." Jiyong was still confused. All this was too overwhelming, not just for him, but for the rest of the sons too. They couldn't even think of the right words to say.

"Look, my son, we don't have much time. Please wear the ring and trust us well. I know that a man's pride is important, but when you're in the midst of danger then you are bound to put it down. Your powers are the strongest compared to the six, so using the ring can help you with suppressing it." Lucifer explained to him. Then Mammon (Suho's father), held onto Lucifer's shoulder and told him, "My brother, we must go before the King finds out that we left."

     "Of course."

"But before we go, Jiyong...please remind your step-father about our bet," Lucifer said with a mischievous smirk, shocking Jiyong, "Bet?" He asked.

"Yes. That if he ever hurts you and your mother, he will sell his soul to us," Lucifer revealed, and the seven sons suddenly had goosebumps because of what they heard.

"Oh, Minhyuk," another demon said as he looked at Minhyuk.

Minhyuk was uncertain, but he gulped and asked, "Y-yes...f-father B-Beelzebub?"

"Please tell your mother that I miss her cooking," he told him, making Minhyuk smile as a reply, trying his best not to cry in front of him.

Sunggyu on the other hand wasn't even looking at the demons. For some reason, even with the ring on, he was angry.

"Sunggyu my son," Satan called out.

"What?" Asked Sunggyu without even looking back at him.

"I have been very proud of you my boy. I apologize if your mother and I couldn't say that to you well," Satan suddenly answered, finally making Sunggyu look at him with shock.

"We have all been very proud," Asmodeus (Hyunseung's father) stated, and then they were covered in fire again.

Taeil wanted to say something but he hesitated, but when the fire was getting smaller, he shouted, "Dad! I love you!"

And just like that, they were gone, and everything started moving again.

"M-My clock...started to tic again," Minhyuk stated, still dumbfounded by what happened.

The seven became quiet. For 18 years, this was their first time to have ever encountered their fathers. And for 18 years, this was the first time that they started crying in front of others.

Jiyong fell on his knees. He cried louder and said, "It was a sin...to have ever doubted my father!"

Sunggyu went in front of Jiyong. He wiped his own tears off first, and then he took the ring out from his pocket and showed it to his friend, "So, are you going to wear this or not?"

Jiyong stared at the ring at first, but then he took it from Sunggyu's hand and answered, "I will." He was about to wear it when Suho suddenly said, "So who's going to carry him?"

"What do you-" Before Jiyong could even ask further, he didn't notice that the ring was already in his finger and that he had already fainted.

"Yup. Just like what happened to us," Hyunseung stated.

"Wait, Sunggyu, I didn't bring my car because we didn't fit inside. Jiyong left his car at the university too, and I'm sure the gates are locked at this hour. There's no cabs or buses here. How on earth are we..." Before Suho could finish his sentence, Jackson went in between them and said, "My house is close from here. Why don't you just stay there tonight?"

Everyone looked as each other as Sunggyu asked, "Do you have enough rooms for the seven of us?"

"No, but my room is big enough for all of us. And I have extra jammies that you could borrow," Jackson answered.

Suho looked at Sunggyu and pouted, "Can't we just go to a hotel or..." But Sunggyu quickly stepped on Suho's foot and said, "Fine, I'll call my mother and Jiyong's as well and tell them that we're staying here overnight. All of you should do the same."

"Yes Sunggyu," answered the sons in unison. For some reason, they unspokenly agreed to make Sunggyu the leader of the group. It just felt right to choose him amongst all of them.

"Now help me carry this guy up."

So the seven deadly sons went to the residence of their envious brother, Wang Jackson. Little did they know that their fathers were down in hell...talking about them like the fathers that they were supposed to be.

"My son doesn't look like me at all!" Asmodeus whined as the other rulers just stared at him with disbelief.

"That's because they're not full fledged demons yet." Mammon pointed out, making Asmodeus realize it too.

"Hey Lucifer, your son's a keeper isn't he?" Leviathan commented while laughing, making Lucifer throw a ball of fire on his head.

"Hey!" Leviathan complained while brushing the fire off his hair.

"You know, I'm really glad that our sons got together this early. After all, the human-angels will be arriving soon," Satan explained.

"I heard that god the savior had plans for those children. I doubt that killing them was even part of his plan. Remember, he made 10 stupid commandments, and killing was one of it," Lucifer explained further.

"But our sons are demons remember?" Belphagor pointed out, making Leviathan and the rest of the rulers nod in agreement.

"You do have a point there brother Belphegor," Lucifer stated.

While the rulers were talking, a ghoul entered the great hall where they were gathered. They all looked at the ghoul as it announced, "Rulers, the King would like to speak with you. He said it was about a dead murderer in the west."

"A dead murderer?" Satan asked with his right eyebrow raised.

Lucifer stood up from the throne that he was sitting on and stated, "I guess we'll be talking about how to torture him. Well Rulers, let's go."

"There are six more like you. They are also sons of the Seven Deadly Demons. The ring will also help you look for them, it will light up when someone like you is near. Unite with them and fight the Archangels. I know I can count on you my son. Please be strong and may the King of Hell be with you, and your spirit."

And this is where their story will begin.
