SDS1 013: IGNORED

HYUNSEUNG OPENED HIS EYES, only to be welcomed with a familiar ceiling. He was inside his room, lying down on his bed. He didn't want to remember, but he was unconsciously touching his lips, remembering the time Junhyung kissed him.

"Stop thinking about him, stop thinking about him," were the words Hyunseung kept on telling himself when he realized he was thinking about the Arc's leader again. While trying his best not to occupy his thoughts with the angel, Hyunseung felt someone touch his arm. He looked at his left and saw his cat, AKA guardian, Luxuria.

"You want me to snap out of it too don't you?" He asked her, and Luxuria meowed as an answer.

"I knew it you'd say that," Hyunseung stated. He stood up from his bed and cleaned himself up to get ready. Today, he was definitely going to attend his classes. He's been absent for almost 3 days now, and he's a first-year college student. It wouldn't be a good thing if he missed more of the lessons.

Hyunseung removed all of his thoughts of Junhyung and his brothers for a while and just took a shower. After that, he went downstairs to see his mother preparing their breakfast.

"Good morning Hyunseung, breakfast?" his mother asked as Hyunseung went to where she was and gave her a quick kiss on the cheek.

"Not hungry," he simply answered. He grabbed his coat from the coat hanger and wore it. He was about to leave the house when his mother suddenly called out for him, "Son, I haven't heard of your brothers. Are you having bad terms with them?"

Hyunseung didn't answer for a moment but nodded afterward.

"Well, I think you need to talk things through. It will be a big problem if the Arcs use it as an advantage," his mother honestly told him, making Hyunseung gulp because he wasn't sure if he should tell her mother the truth or not.

"It's not that serious." He lied.

"I know you're a smart boy Hyunseung. And I do hope you talk to your brothers so you could be in better terms with each other," his mother seriously told him. So Hyunseung nodded his head and answered back, "I'll keep that in mind."

Hyunseung's mom nodded and placed the plates on the table, "Oh before you leave, I almost forgot to tell you that I'll be at your grandmother's house today. I'll be back tomorrow morning. Will you be okay if I leave you here alone?"

"I'll be fine mother, I'm not a kid. And have you forgotten? Luxuria's with me," Hyunseung assured her.

"Alright. But if you want you can invite your brothers so they could stay over. You could talk about your problems then," Mrs. Jang suggested, and Hyunseung scratched the back of his neck when he heard about it.

"I'll think about it. See you mom," Hyunseung stated, then he quickly opened the door and left.

It felt weird when he went outside because this time, Minhyuk or any of his brothers wasn't there to greet him a good morning anymore.

"This won't last forever JS, don't worry," he whispered to himself as he proceeded to the campus. Hyunseung decided that he would walk than use his bike to waste time. After all, it was still 6 in the morning.

When he arrived at the gate, his heart skipped a beat because Junhyung was waiting for him there. It was still early, so Hyunseung looked confused. Did Junhyung purposely arrive early for him?

"Junhyung, were you waiting for me?" he asked as he approached the angel, but he already knew the answer to that even if he didn't ask him.

"Isn't it obvious? Well, I knew that you wouldn't be with your brothers so I thought it would be better if you hang out with me today," Junhyung suddenly revealed.

Hyunseung blankly looked at Junhyung and walked away, but Junhyung quickly took his hand and worriedly asked, "Hyunseung, what's wrong? Are you mad?"

Hyunseung glared at Junhyung, making Junhyung let go of his hand in an instant.

"Did I do something wrong? Was it because of the ki..." Before Junhyung could finish, Hyunseung immediately stopped him and said, "Don't you dare finish that sentence. Nothing happened between us yesterday, you got that?"

"I don't think so Hyunseung. You were pretty much crying in my arms yesterday," Junhyung blurted out.

Hyunseung turned away from Junhyung. He suddenly remembered their 'sweet moment' again yesterday. He wanted to believe that he was just caught up at the moment so he didn't know what he was doing.

"You're still in bad terms with your brothers, right? Then hang out with us first. I promise you I'll tame my angels well. How does that sound?" Junhyung practically begged this time.

"Do you think a lot will appreciate it if people see a member of a Demon hanging out with the Arcs? They'd say I'm a slut for sure," Hyunseung honestly told him.

Junhyung felt guilty since he said the exact words to Hyunseung a while back. But he brushed the thought away and told him, "Don't say that. You're not a slut, nor a whore, nor anything that resembles lust. You're Jang Hyunseung, and no one can change that."

Hyunseung didn't answer this time but raised an arm at Junhyung. Junhyung thought he was going to punch him again, but he said instead, "Fine, but please let's not talk here."

"Huh?" Junhyung looked around and realized that everyone was already staring at them. Now people really believed that the two are together thanks to Trey's article.

"Oops, sorry. Shall we go?" Junhyung asked, and Hyunseung nodded as an answer. Then the two of them went to the garden where the rest of the Arcs are.

"So this is where these guys hang out," Hyunseung thought to himself as they went closer to them.

"Hey, Junhyu...Jang?!" Mark shouted, surprised to see a Demon standing beside their leader.

"Guys, you all know who this is so be a gentleman and say hi," Junhyung instructed with a bright smile.

The Arcs looked at each other confusingly and didn't say a thing, so Junhyung cleared his throat. The Arcs looked back at Hyunseung and said with the most uninterested voice that they could make, "Hello."

Hyunseung didn't answer but continued to stare at the Arcs in front of him.

"What's this about Junhyung?" Seunghyun asked as he slowly stood up from the bench.

"Hyunseung is going to hang out with us today," Junhyung simply answered.

     "What?!" Everyone shouted in unison.

Seunghyun immediately went to where Junhyung and Hyunseung was and said, "Uhm, can I talk to you for a second?" Without waiting for his answer, Seunghyun pulled Junhyung away from them and dragged him behind a tree.

"Are you out of your mind right now Junhyung?! Letting him stay with us wasn't part of our plan!" Seunghyun said with a voice that was loud enough to show Junhyung his anger but not too loud that Hyunseung and the others would be able to hear it.

"I know, but he wasn't in good conditions with his brothers and-"

Seunghyun quickly cut him off and said, "I don't fucking care! Whether he's left alone or not is not our concern Junhyung. What if he finds out about our plans. I was impressed with this yesterday, but letting him hang with us is unacceptable."

"I know okay. But I promise I'll keep my mouth shut, so you should too. And I'll tell our brothers that we should avoid talking about our plan so that Hyunseung could-"

"Junhyung! Are you hearing yourself right now?!" Seunghyun asked, but then his eyes widened like he realized something, "Wait. Did you do it with him?!"

Junhyung looked back at him with disbelief, but then he started laughing, "He doesn't even allow me to touch him for a few seconds."

Seunghyun stared at Junhyung's eyes, and he knew at that point that Junhyung was lying to him. He crossed his arms and looked back at his leader. Junhyung tried to endure the deadly stare, but he eventually gave up and sighed, "Fine, we kissed...that's it," he told him.

Seunghyun thought that he was prepared to hear it, but when Junhyung said it himself, he just froze.  This was a bad sign, a really really bad sign.

"You are insane!" Seunghyun shouted. Junhyung couldn't answer back because he thought he was insane too.

"Wait a second. Have you fallen in love with this demon Junhyung?!" Seunghyun quickly asked him, and Junhyung's heart almost exploded from the question.

"O-of course not!" Junhyung answered, trying his best not to look at Seunghyun's eyes.

Seunghyun didn't believe it, so he grabbed Junhyung's collar and asked, "Stop lying to me and tell me the truth!"

The Arcs heard the ruckus, but no one dared do anything because they knew what it was about. Hyunseung on the other hand just pretended like he didn't notice a thing. He was still in the Arcs' territory. It would be suicide if he tries to butt in between them.

Junhyung didn't answer this time because he didn't know what to answer anymore. So Seunghyun clenched his fist and punched the trunk of the tree, "Answer me Junhyung!"

"N-No...I'm doing all this for the Arcs. So you don't have to worry about me falling in love with a stupid demon," Junhyung finally answered, but he knew he wasn't fooling anyone with that answer. I guess Seunghyun was just that foolable because Junhyung did fall for the stupid demon. You could say it was like a taste of Junhyung's own medicine.

He didn't know how or when, but the way Hyunseung looked when he was being neglected made Junhyung sure that he could never hurt this boy. But his brothers and fathers were more important than his selfish feelings. He needed to accomplish his mission and he had to finish their plan. He was just waiting for the outcome of it. And he honestly thought that even with all the tricking, Hyunseung would still crawl back to him even though it was clear that he wouldn't once Hyunseung finds out about everything.

"It was part of our plan, don't worry. The date, the sweet words, and the kiss...you got it?" Junhyung told Seunghyun, but it sounded like he was telling those words to himself instead.

Seunghyun's eyes softened as he placed his hands on his brother's shoulders, "I believe you. I just hope you know what you're doing."

Junhyung nervously nodded his head, then the two went back to where the Arcs were. They saw the others talking to Hyunseung. It was obvious that some of them still looked a little scared of him. After their last battle, the Arcs saw how strong these demons were, so they didn't want to make Hyunseung angry now that they know the truth.

When Junhyung and Seunghyun were about to approach them, the bell rang just in time.

"Looks like we need to head back. Lay, Mark, and Woohyun, can you accompany Hyunseung to your room? You're classmates right?" Junhyung asked them.

Woohyun glared at his stupid brother and sarcastically answered him, "Oh yeah, sure. We'll even carry him in our backs if you want." But then Hyunseung looked at Woohyun, making him flinch and look away from him.

"Okay then, the rest of you, let's go," Junhyung instructed.

The Arcs looked at each other and just shrugged their shoulders, "Okay, you heard our leader," Jihoon told his brothers, and the Arcs nodded in forced understanding.

"Bye Hyunseung, see you later okay?" Junhyung stated before leaving with the rest of the Arcs.

"Okay then Hyunseung, let's..." Before Lay could even finish his sentence, Hyunseung ignored him and started walking away.

"Demon..." Mark whispered with a glare.

The three of them just followed Hyunseung to the building. Hyunseung was walking in front while the three were walking behind him. Everyone was staring at them, making conclusions on what they were currently seeing.

"I hope people don't think we're guarding Jang because he's dating our leader," Lay stated, but Mark just chuckled and told him, "There's no point in that because the whole campus already thinks that we are."

Woohyun looked at Hyunseung, making sure he wasn't listening to them. When he saw that he wasn't, Woohyung went closer to Mark and Lay and whispered, "What do you think the reason behind Jang's fight with his brothers?"

"Isn't it obvious already? It's because of Junhyung you idiot," Mark angrily whispered back.

"I could hear you assholes," Hyunseung suddenly stated, surprising them. They didn't say anything else after and just silently walked behind Hyunseung.

When they arrived in their room, the whole class became quiet. Hyunseung saw Minhyuk. Minhyuk was a little shocked to see Hyunseung entering the room with those Arcs, but a part of him already knew that it would happen sooner or later.

The four sat down on their chair. Hyunseung sat beside Minhyuk, but the two didn't talk. Minhyuk didn't even look at him. Everyone knew that the reason was because of Hyunseung hooking up with an Arc, but no one knew about its deeper meaning (Obviously ).

"Hey Jang. I know it might sound weird, but I have notes on our lessons when you were absent. Would you like to copy them or something?" asked the guy who sat in front of Hyunseung, better known as Mark.

Hyunseung didn't answer. His head was still in the cloud; he didn't feel comfortable sitting beside Minhyuk who completely ignored him.

"Jang Hyunseung..." Mark called out, making Hyunseung snap back to his senses.

"Huh? What?" he asked, making Mark sigh.

"Notes. Would you like to copy them?" Mark asked again.

Hyunseung was still half confused but he nodded his head and answered, "Ah, sure. Thank you."

"You can return it to me tomorrow." Mark gave him his notebook. Hyunseung took it from his hand and placed it inside his bag, then he tapped Mark's shoulder and asked, "Can we switch seats?"

Mark stopped what he was doing as he slowly turned around to look back at Hyunseung, "Pardon?"

"Switch seats with me," this time, Hyunseung sounded like he was commanding Mark to switch seats with him rather than asking him. Mark looked at the guy sitting beside Hyunseung - Minhyuk. It was okay to sit beside Hyunseung, but to sit beside a higher ranked demon was a different story.

"Wouldn't our professor get mad if we-"

Hyunseung's eyes looked different again like he was going to kill Mark if he didn't agree with his request, so Mark gulped and immediately stood up from his seat.

"S-Sure," he answered. He took his bag while Hyunseung stood up as well and sat on Mark's seat. When Mark sat down, Minhyuk slowly looked his way, making Mark gulp. He was already sweating buckets when he looked back at Minhyuk, "H-Hi..." Mark said with a shaky voice, but Minhyuk ignored him and continued reading his textbook.

Now Hyunseung was sitting beside Lay while Woohyun was sitting beside Lay on the right. Lay didn't say anything to Hyunseung. He knew that nothing would happen if he fought with him and told him to just go back to his seat. So he just sat down quietly, and it was something Hyunseung secretly appreciated.

"Okay class, good morning," their professor stated as soon as he arrived. He placed his things on the desk, and everyone greeted him.

While assembling his things, the professor saw Hyunseung, "Oh Mr. Jang, you're here now. Were you sick?"

"Ah, yeah..." Hyunseung answered while scratching the back of his head.

"So, where's your absent slip? You need to give it to me so I could excuse you from the previous quizzes," the professor informed him. Hyunseung quickly shut his eyes and massaged his temple. He totally forgot about it.

"Sorry sir, but I don't have it," Hyunseung honestly answered.

"What? Then you understand that this means you will receive zero marks. That's the policy here," the professor told him, making Hyunseung curse under his breath. It might not look like it, but Huynseung's a scholar like Minhyuk. If he gets zero marks, it would greatly affect his grades.

Hyunseung looked at Minhyuk. He was honestly expecting him to help him, but he didn't even look at him, so Hyunseung decided to just accept the consequences. The Arcs looked at him, with an annoyed expression, Woohyun said, "Sir, he doesn't need to give you the slip, right?" He asked him, surprising the professor.

"What are you talking about Nam? Of course, he needs to give me the-"

Woohyun cuts him off and repeated his sentence, but slower this time, "Sir, Jang Hyunseung...is not required to hand you the absence slip to be excused, right?" And like a mindless zombie, the professor nodded and said, "You're right. Mr. Jang, go to my office so I could give you the papers. I don't want you failing my class."

Woohyun snapped his fingers, making the professor look confused.

"Huh, what was I talking about again?" The professor asked, then Lay quickly answered, "You were going to discuss sir."

"Oh, yes, that's right. Please turn your books to page 124," the professor stated as if nothing happened at all.

Next to Sungjae, Woohyun also possessed the power to manipulate people. Hyunseung looked at Woohyun, but Woohyun ignored him. He didn't want to make Hyunseung feel that he did it for him because Woohyun only did it because he knew Junhyung would be mad at him if he didn't. He didn't like the drama. He wanted things to be done fast so that's why he did what he did.

The class proceeded with their lessons, but Minhyuk and Hyunseung still didn't say a word to each other until classes were over.

"Okay, you may now take your lunch. Please don't forget to submit your assignments tomorrow."

     "Yes sir."

Everyone stood up from their seats. That included Mark, Hyunseung, Lay, and Woohyun. It wasn't a usual thing for the Arcs to wait for Hyunseung, but since their leader practically forced them to stick with him, they waited for the demon.

"Jang, are you coming with us?" he asked as he approached him.

Hyunseung looked at Minhyuk for a while, but Minhyuk just continued with fixing his things. So Hyunseung slowly nodded his head and answered, "S-Sure."

The four boys were about to take their leave, but someone suddenly blocked their way. And as expected, it was one of the most popular groups in the university, the Demons.

"S-Sunggyu..." Hyunseung called out, but Sunggyu completely ignored him, and so did the rest of his deadly brothers.

"Look who we have here, if it isn't the demonic Demons," Lay bravely stated, but he too was completely ignored by the five.

"Minhyuk! Let go!" Suho called out, and Minhyuk took his bag and went pass Hyunseung and the rest of the members of the Arcs. Before they could leave, someone called out for Hyunseung from outside the room, making the Demons stop walking.

"Hyunseung!" he shouted again. And it was none other than Junhyung and the other members of the Arc.

The Demons and the Arcs were now standing in front of Minhyuk and Hyunseung's room. Everyone was intrigued so they stopped to watch. They were actually expecting them to fight over Hyunseung.

"Oh Sunggyu, why didn't you tell me you were going here too? You should have told me so we could have walked together," Junhyung stated with a smirk on his face.

"Brothers, let's go," Sunggyu said instead as they walked pass Junhyung and his group. But Junhyung suddenly pulled Sunggyu's shoulder, making Sunggyu forcefully face him.

"Hey! Kim Sunggyu, aren't you forgetting someone?" Junhyung angrily shouted at him. Sunggyu looked back at Jiyong and the rest of his brothers, then he said, "I don't think so."

Junhyung clenched his fist then pointed at Hyunseung, "Jang Hyunseung. You're forgetting him! He's your brother isn't he?!"

Sunggyu emotionlessly looked at Hyunseung and said, "I don't remember having a brother named Jang Hyunseung. So Yong Junhyung, please stop wasting my time and leave us alone."

Hyunseung was shocked, and so was everyone else. Junhyung saw Hyunseung's sad and embarrassed expression and snapped. He grabbed Sunggyu again before he could leave and punched him.

     "Sunggyu!" Taeil shouted from shock.

"Junhyung, what the fuck do you think you're doing!?" Sungjae stated as he was pulling Junhyung away from Sunggyu.

Sunggyu wanted to fight back but his brothers were stopping him as well.

"What was that about, huh Yong?!" Jiyong angrily stated as he went in front of Junhyung.

"Oh, that? That was for making Hyunseung cry," Junhyung surprisingly stated. Then he glared at Jiyong and continued, "And this is for ignoring him..." Then Junhyung landed a punch on Jiyong next.

Jiyong didn't back out and started firing back at Junhyung's punches. The rest of the Demons and Arcs didn't know what to do but stare at the two clashing with each other until someone arrived and stopped them in time before they could injure each other even more.

"Stop that immediately!" He shouted with a very powerful voice.

It was Kharon the Third, AKA Holy Angels University's priest.

"All of you proceed to the cafeteria. Arcs and Demons, stay here," Kharon commanded as all the students left, leaving the two groups and Kharon behind.

The Arcs knew Kharon was their new priest, but they knew nothing about him being the Demons' mentor. And that was a good thing.

Junhyung and Woohyun might have seen him during the time Junhyung asked Hyunseung out, but since Kharon looked different now with his perfectly waxed hair, old-people reading glasses, and his priest uniform, the two weren't able to recognize him especially since Kharon looked like a punk when they first saw him.

"What do you think you're doing?" Kharon asked them.

"He started it!" Jiyong shouted as he pointed at Junhyung.

"Mr. Kwon, this is not the time for us to be pointing fingers. You're lucky I just finished confessing so I'm in a good mood. Now go to the cafeteria before I decide on bringing all of you to the dean's office," Kharon commanded, making everyone flinch. Then Kharon suddenly winked at Jackson and left.

"Junhyung, let's just go, okay?" Seunghyun suggested. But before leaving, Junhyung went in front of Sunggyu again and said, "Guess you guys are even worse than I thought."

Junhyung didn't expect it but Sunggyu answered him back, "Look at the mirror first before telling me that Yong Junhyung."

Junhyung clenched his fist in anger but he didn't say anything. He knew deep down that the demons' leader was right.

"You can have JS all you want. You could even fuck him for all we care. But don't you ever tell us we're worse than you when you clearly know who deserves to be given that title," Sunggyu seriously told him, making Junhyung break eye contact.

Then the six left, leaving the Arcs and Hyunseung behind.

Junhyung went to where Hyunseung was and gently placed his hands on Hyunseung's cheeks. This time, Hyunseung didn't cry.

"Are you alright?" Junhyung sincerely asked him. And for the first time, the Arcs were concerned. They didn't expect that their plan on beating the Demons would be this hard and painful to watch. They were guilty, and that was something the angels avoided. Because when angels feel guilty, they have no choice but to make things right. But they didn't have a choice this time because they already started their heartless plan. Some even thought that Hyunseung was using some kind of power so they would pity him, but they knew very well that it was a natural feeling of an angel.

"I'm hungry, can we go?" Hyunseung casually stated, and everyone nodded as an answer, even Seunghyun.

"Okay then. And if you want, we can eat our lunch in the garden. Jihoon and Sungjae can buy the food for us," Junhyung suggested, quickly making Jihoon look at him with shock.

"What?" Jihoon asked, but Mark stepped on his foot so he was forced to agree.

*****

Lunch ended fast, and so were the afternoon classes. The last bell rang and their classes were over. Junhyung told his Arcs to go home without him, so everyone did what they were told.

Junhyung was standing at the school's gate because he was waiting for Hyunseung again. He wanted to walk him home, and that's just purely out of concern. He wasn't planning on doing something bad to him after seeing his face earlier. Well, he wasn't planning on doing something to him, period.

"Junhyung?" Hyunseung called out when he arrived at the gate.

Junhyung automatically smiled when he saw him, "Hyunseung! Let's go!" he happily told him.

     "Huh? Where?" Hyunseung confusingly asked.

"I'll walk you home," Junhyung then declared.

Hyunseung was too tired to disagree so he just nodded his head in defeat.

The two walked home. No one said a word. They were just awkwardly walking like they were complete strangers. So after walking in silence for a couple of minutes, they finally arrived at Hyunseung's house.

"We're here," Hyunseung stated as he faced Junhyung.

Junhyung looked at Hyunseung and gently held his cheek again. As Junhyung placed his hand on Hyunseung's face, Hyunseung suddenly felt hot inside again. He tried his best so Junhyung wouldn't see his strange reaction, but he failed because he saw Junhyung forcing himself not to laugh.

After what happened to them yesterday, Junhyung noticed that Hyunseung's been letting him touch him freely. So Junhyung finally removed his hand from Hyunseung's cheek, "Looks like no one's home. Eat dinner okay? Oh, and lock your door so no one can come inside," Junhyung told him, almost making Hyunseung crack a smile.

"Understood," Hyunseung answered. So Junhyung nodded his head and cleared his throat, "Well, goodbye then," said Junhyung as he turned around to leave. But before he could even take a step, he suddenly felt a gentle tug.

Junhyung turned around and saw Hyunseung shyly pulling the hem of his shirt.

"What is it Hyunseung? Is something wrong?" Junhyung confusingly asked him.

Hyunseung stared at the floor and slowly lets go of Junhyung's shirt. He cleared his throat and told him, "J-Junhyung...w-would you...like to come...inside?"

Junhyung's eyes widened as he asked from shock, "What did you just say?"

"My mother, she wouldn't be home till tomorrow so..." Hyunseung paused and waited for Junhyung to say something. But Junhyung didn't answer, making Hyunseung feel really embarrassed. So he slowly lifted his head, only to see Junhyung turning red as well.

"I-Is it okay?" Junhyung asked, making sure Hyunseung wasn't out of his mind.

"Well, if you don't want to then -"

Hyunseung quickly turned around and grabbed the doorknob. But before he could twist it, he suddenly felt Junhyung's hand holding his arm. Hyunseung didn't turn around but he could clearly hear Junhyung's shaking voice.

His voice was obviously covered with uncertainty, but at the same time want, lust, and desire.

"I want to..." Junhyung finally answered.
