4》There for You
"To be trusted is a greater compliment than being loved."
It was 11am by the time Jungkook opened his eyes. His eyelids felt heavy, and his vision was blurry. He groaned and felt his head burst into strong pain, as he tried to sit up. What the hell did I do last night?! Oh right. There it was. Everything came back to him in a flash.
Club Red. The party. Drugs. Alcohol. Suga. Dancing with Lalisa. The fight. Being dragged upstairs. Taehyung. Powers. Everything, except what had happened after he had exited Taehyung's office with Suga. It was like as if he had blacked out afterwards.
He noticed that he was lying in bed in an awkward position, still wearing his costume from the night before. Jungkook hoped that he hadn't crumpled the suit too much, or else Jimin would be upset.
He lay there staring up at the ceiling, wondering about trivial things like the meaning of life and why he even existed. His mouth felt dry, his head was still pounding and his limbs felt heavy and sore. No more partying for a long time, that was sure.
"Had a rough night?"
Jungkook's eyes slowly went to the door. Hoseok was leaning against the frame, holding a cup of steaming coffee and a little sheet of pills in his hands. He gave him an empathetic look and went to Jungkook, helping him sit up.
"T-thanks." Jungkook croaked, "The night was crazier than you think."
He eyed the aspirin with relief, and downed it along with the bitter hot coffee. Hoseok kneeled down beside him. "I heard about that fight you stopped. Are you alright?"
"Yeah, I am. I-I just am a little sad. I met this girl last night and danced with her. Just as I was about to get her number, the whole thing happened and then... Something else came in the way." Jungkook said quietly.
Hoseok stopped smiling. "So... You didn't get her number? What was her name?"
"Lalisa."
Hoseok thought for a while, but couldn't find a matching person in his mind. He ruffled Jungkook's hair affectionately. "Don't worry Jungkook, I'm sure you will find her again."
Jungkook nodded hopefully. "Hobi?"
"Yes?"
"What happened last night? I don't remember getting back here."
"Well, after that fight Jin couldn't find you anymore. He kept on looking for you, but then went home at like 12:30. You were brought in at 1:00am by some random guy. And you were asleep, so we basically carried you up."
Hobi walked towards the door. "Jin made some breakfast, you should eat something." He suggested, giving him a look that made it seem like "No" wasn't an option.
Jungkook actually felt pretty hungry, so he stood up and dragged himself to the bathroom. He was shocked by his look. His red sprayed hair stood out in all directions, his eyes were red from still wearing the circle lenses, and he had swollen eyebags. Damn, I look like shit right now.
Jungkook carefully removed the lenses, and then took off the suit, gently placing it on a shelf. After a refreshing hot shower, he quickly got dressed and then knocked on Jimin's door. A quick glance in the mirror, showed him that his brown hair had a few faded pink streaks left from the color spray.
"Come in."
Jungkook opened it. He was surprised to see Jimin's room completely tidied up. Everything looked in place. "Wow, I like your room Jimin."
Jimin smiled, his cheeks raising up. "Thank you Jungkook. Can I call you Kookie?"
Jungkook nodded. He liked that nickname alot. He sighed and awkwardly held out the suit to Jimin. "Hey, I'm sorry about the suit. It's a little crumpled, but at least it didn't get dirty."
Jimin laughed. "I don't mind at all."
Jungkook thought about the night before, and he felt like he had to let Jimin know that there were more people like them.
"I have to tell you something important Jimin."
Jimin looked at him expectantly. "What is it? Is it about that girl from last night?"
Jungkook gasped in surprise. "How did you know about her?"
Jimin smiled childishly. "I wasn't at the party, but I wanted to know how it was, so I transported my mind to the party and roamed around a little. I actually saw you and her dancing."
Jungkook felt a little pained at the thought of her. "Do you think you could find her?" He asked hopefully, "You know, stretch your mind out and search for her?"
Jimin laughed. "Dude, that's lowkey stalking." Jungkook grinned. "And what you did last night wasn't stalking, huh?"
Jimin looked away. "Look Kookie, I don't know how to find her. I'd really like to help you, but I would need to look through every corner of Seoul to find her. It's not that easy amongst millions of people."
Jungkook looked at him desperately. "Please try." He pleaded, "I'm sure you can do it. Maybe you can do more than you think? What if you can focus on people to find them?"
Jimin looked at him thoughtfully. "I've never done that, but I might as well try it. "
He closed his eyes and concentrated, trying to take his mind back to the night before. He traced his steps back to the last time he had seen the girl, and concentrated on the last image. His eyes burned into every little detail of her. Jimin felt like it didn't work, and his hope was dwindling. But then, he felt his mind slowly wander away from the place, and watched in confusion, as he hovered higher and higher, leaving Club Red behind.
He felt at peace, floating above Seoul and watching the humans, that looked smaller than ants. He wondered where his mind would take him to. He felt even more confused, as he slowly floated over to a place he knew all too well: The Seoul National University.
Meanwhile, Jungkook had silently watched Jimin. He thought it was kind of creepy, how lifeless Jimin looked. He was completly still and unmoving, and his eyes were closed. His chest didn't even seem to rise or fall. But something about it also looked very peaceful.
Suddenly Jimin's eyes opened. There was a wide grin on his face. "Welcome back to life." Jungkook said, slapping Jimin's back while laughing in relief. "I've got some great news Kookie. I found her! It actually worked, I was taken to her location. She is currently on our university grounds, in the north part, block A."
Jungkook let out a cry of happiness, and threw himself at Jimin, embracing him in a hug. Jimin coughed a little. "Uhm Jungkook, your grip is a little strong, ugh-h could you..."
Jungkook released him and laughed. Jimin stared at his arms in wonder. "Those arms are strong as hell, do you work out alot?"
Jungkook beamed proudly, and flexed his muscles for fun. "Yeah I do, I love fitness. I'm pretty proud of my progress so far."
Jimin grinned. "Let's hit the gym some time, I've heard that the one on campus is pretty good."
Jungkook nodded. He thought back to the topic he actually wanted to talk about. "Jimin, is anyone near your room?" He asked cautiously.
"Huh?"
Jimin looked in direction of the door and closed his eyes for a second. "No, Jin is watching TV while eating, and Hoseok has already left for dance class."
Great, now I can tell him; Jungkook thought.
"Okay, this might be a little crazy. Last night I met this guy named Suga, and he offered to let me meet Club Red's boss. After the whole fight incident, I wasn't in the mood, but he forced me to come with him anyway."
Jimin interrupted him, shaking his head in disbelief. "Hold up, how could he force you? Why didn't you just push him away or punch him?"
"That's the thing, Jimin. I couldn't resist him! My body felt like it weighed a ton, and lifting an arm was nearly impossible. That guy is special, just like us. Disabling people just like that, is one of his abilities. So, he took me to this office, where I met this extravagant man named Kim Taehyung. He seems really powerful. Not only does he own many businesses, properties and companys, he also possesses powers."
Jimin gazed at him, caught up in his story. "Wait a second, how old is this Taeyeon guy?"
"Taehyung, not Taeyeon. He looked like he was in his early twenties."
Jimin scoffed. "Owning that much at such an age? Please. He must be daddy's boy, getting everything off the palm of his hand."
Jungkook bit his lip and wondered for a while. Jimin was right, it was pretty odd. He hadn't even thought about how Taehyung had gotten all those riches. If he had acquired everything from his dad, his family surely had to be somewhat known in the business world, or could be traced on the internet.
"Anyways," Jungkook continued, "He said he knew about me being special, and wanted to offer me a job. He said that in return for accepting, he would train my abilities and possibly help me discover others. Isn't that amazing!?"
Jimin tried to smile, but he couldn't hide the flicker of uncertainty in his face. "It sounds cool Jungkook, but can you trust him? How can you know he's not just trying to use you and your powers, or even study you like an animal?"
Jungkook looked taken aback. He shook his head. "No, why would he do that? There is no reason, he has even greater powers than I do. He wants to help others like us discover their full potential. You could get his training too, who knows what else you are capable of!"
Jimin grimaced. "No thanks, I'll pass. What kind of job are you doing anyway? When do you start?"
Jungkook shrugged. "Something with business, but I'm not sure yet. He said he'll send Suga when everything is prepared."
"I don't know, Jungkook. If you want to do this, I won't stop you. But I just don't know if this guy can be trusted. Take care of yourself, yeah?" Jimin muttered. He couldn't help but worry about his new roommate. Jungkook seemed slightly naïve to him.
There was a short moment of silence. "I will." He promised.
"I'll be there for you if there is ever trouble, Jungkook. You can count on me. I will visit you when you need help. I won't be there with my body, but I'll be with you in mind and spirit." Jimin said wholeheartedly.
Jungkook was slightly unnerved by his serious tone. He knew this was no joke. He had never known anyone before, who had vowed to be there for him in any situation. This filled him with a kind of warmth and a feeling of security.
"Thank you Jimin. I've known you for a short time, but you already seem like a really good friend, and caring person."
"You're welcome brother."
