"That's impossible!" sighed Hailie, falling onto her bed. "Think, Hailie, what have you done with your phone?"

She spent the entire afternoon looking for her phone, but it vanished. It was hard to remember where she had put it. It was in her purse in the morning, because she was using it during lectures. Then she came back home and decided to take a quick, refreshing shower. Did she take it to the bathroom? Or maybe she left it in the room? It wasn't in the purse either.

The phone wasn't earlier so important to her, but now she was texting with Shane all the time. Today he was supposed to work until the evening. Maybe it was better that she forgot where the phone was put, because she wouldn't bother Shane at the police station. He would be easily distracted by her.

"Come in!" Hailie yelled, when someone intensively knocked on her door. She sat at the bed cross-legged. "Oh, have you by any luck seen my phone?" she asked Wrath, before he had a chance to say what's the matter.

"Your phone?" he asked with uncertainty in his voice. "I haven't seen it."

"I don't know where it is," she sighed once again and rolled her eyes. Get it together, Hailie. It's just a phone. "So, what's up?"

Wrath looked at the ceiling but decided not to make the joke, even if it was tempting.

"Gluttony feels like making a feast for us, so he sent me to ask you, if you could go to the store and buy some things." He put a hand in his pocket and took out a sheet of paper with the list of way too many products to buy. Wrath had a feeling that if he was a human, he would hate shopping.

"And I'm paying for all of that?" she clucked, taking a checklist from Wrath.

"We can give you money, but it would be a cursed object, so-"

"I can pay."

It was definitely a better option than letting hellish items out to the world. Besides, Gluttony was cooking for her a lot. She could make grocery shopping from time to time. And that list had so many products that it should be enough for over a week.

Although she didn't know Gluttony's capabilities.

"Have you seen Lust maybe?" he asked, while Hailie went to the dressing table to get her purse.

"Try in his room." She saw him there through the ajar door, when she came back home from the college. "Tell Gluttony I'll try to be back before the shop closes," she joked, because that checklist was seriously long.

Before coming to Lust's room, Wrath had only one thing left to do. He needed to show him something, so he quickly went to the attic and then transferred himself next to his bed. Lust was in the middle of reading an old book, but he put it down and looked at Wrath, wondering what he might've wanted from him.

"Yes? Have you come to torture me a little bit more with babbling about Hailie going out practically every day with Shane, so that I don't even have time to talk with her?" he asked, because that's what Wrath's been doing lately.

"You said that Shane has a personality too strong to affect his mind and body." He took a chair and put it by the bed to sit on it. "That we won't be able to make him do what we want, especially now, when he knows the truth and might fight with voices in his head."

Lust put his hand under his head, making it more comfortable to lay on the bed.

"That's what I said, indeed. And?"

Wrath leaned closer to Lust and whispered, "Do you want to kill Shane?"

Did he want to kill Officer Annoying, who was not only so good that Lust wanted to throw up, but was also stealing Halie from him?

"Yes, but Hailie could never know. Besides, it's quite problematic, as you know."

"Not anymore." Wrath smiled, making Lust more confused than ever. "I have a solution for your problem." He slowly pulled the blade out of the sleeve of his jacket. Lust recognized it at the first sight. He sat and gently took the blade from Wrath.

"One of the Twin Blades. How-"

"I found it in Sloth's hiding place, I don't know why he had it and he doesn't know that now I have it. That's not the important thing right now. This one is the Boundary Breaker."

"I can sense it," he said, although at the same time he had a feeling that something was wrong here. It was supposed to be nearly impossible to know which half is which. Meanwhile, the blade gave up that secret so easily.

Maybe it's lying?

Lust didn't get the chance to think about it because of Wrath's excitement.

"You understand what kind of power the Boundary Breaker is giving us?"

Wrath didn't need to explain to him how the legendary hellish objects worked. He knew a lot about the halves of the Twin Blade, although he was sure that it was just a small piece of its real possibilities and rules.

"The name tells it all. The rules don't apply to the Boundary Breaker. It breaks them. That means that whatever we are bound by, using the blade frees us from this."

He twirled the blade in his hand.

"That means you can kill Shane without any consequences. The thing that was impossible for us, killing a human by our own hands, becomes possible."

That news was game changing. Lust stood up and started walking in the room, thinking what to do next. He wanted to get rid of Shane for way too long and now his wish has been fulfilled.

But was he really going to do that?

What about Hailie?

"Lust!" Wrath snapped his fingers right in front of his face. "Why aren't you delighted with this news?"

He blinked a few times, trying to make a decision. It needed to be carefully thought through. If he was about to kill Shane, how to do so without Hailie finding out about it? Surely, the Boundary Breaker was giving the perfect alibi, because nobody knew about it, so why would they suspect Lust of something that was impossible for demons to do? Although it'd be the best if Shane's body wouldn't be found.

"I'm not sure what to do," he honestly said. It was a hard choice, but at least he had one. If Officer Irritating becomes too annoying, he'll get rid of him.

"Then you better think fast."

Lust frowned and asked with bewilderment, "What do you mean?"

The blame was all over Wrath's face, when he replied, "Hailie won't be back home for some time and I, um, I stole her phone." He looked for it in the pocket. "I also told Pride to find some souvenirs to show Hailie, so she will be busy for some time. And, uh, Shane will be here soon."

Lust snatched the phone from Wrath's hand and gazed at the screen. There were many messages from Shane, but the most important one was sent from Hailie. Or rather from Wrath, who was pretending to be Hailie.

SOS. COME TO THE HOUSE ASAP. I NEED YOU.

"Fuck, Wrath, what you've been thinking?" He threw the phone on the bed with instant anger. Wrath put him in a really hard situation.

"I know that feeling way too well. I understand it, that's why I wanted to help you." Wrath tightly caught him by the arms. "I owe it to you. I once asked you for something that has changed your life a lot and you never said anything about it, you never had any grudge against me. Let me return this favor."

Lust gazed at the Boundary Breaker, still not completely sure about this, but what else he could do?

"Let it be then," he made a decision and looked Wrath in the eyes. He saw the exact memory he was thinking of. The day that changed it all.

And now they were about to become the partners in crime again.

Just like the old times.

Just like then.

Wrath was sitting by the kitchen table, looking at the bottle of alcohol standing in front of him. He had a very bad day. Or a week. Or a whole year, actually. It was getting worse and more terrible with each day, leaving him in a constant feel of irritation and dissatisfaction. He had no idea how much more of this crap he could take, until something would crack inside him. The consequences of his actions would be horrible, but maybe he would find some peace of mind.

"Oh, you're in your thinking mood," noticed Lust, who came into the kitchen, having a hunch that it's the place where he would find Wrath. "Sitting and staring at the glass of whatever you poured yourself, knowing you won't drink it anyway. What is it with all that nostalgia and a breakdown you're having?"

Wrath sighed, thinking that Lust just ruined his moment of self-pity. He put the bottle and the glass aside, because he didn't even like drinking. He had no idea why people were always looking for answers in alcohol. It never gave him any.

"I was thinking."

"Yeah? I'm not blind." Lust took a chair and sat beside Wrath. He could notice that with every day his demonic friend was getting sadder and easier to provoke. He was feeling down for quite some time now. Lust knew what it was all about. Or actually, who it was all about. "So, what's your wisdom for today?"

He gazed at Lust, silent for a moment, like he was getting ready to make a speech.

"People tend to get angry so easily. They quarrel about the things of great matter as well as about small misunderstandings. The truth is there's always only one reason behind their fury."

"And what is it?" Lust gazed at the bottle of alcohol. He wasn't into these kinds of human's pleasures, but today he felt like doing an exception.

"Control. We all, humans or demons, get angry, because we can't control something or someone. It's all about control. Whenever something doesn't go our way, we get angry. Whenever someone doesn't do or say as we want them, we get angry. We can't control them and that's what makes us furious. Being powerless, helpless, oh, that hurts."

Now Lust was sure to have that one glass of alcohol.

"Who can't you control?"

"Me," Wrath joked, because even if that was true, they both knew he was getting angry about someone else.

Suddenly the door in the house snapped shut with a loud crash and a voice from the hall emerged, "Honey, I'm home!"

Wrath hit his head on the table top and mumbled, "Just kill me already, cause I can't take this sweetness anymore."

"It's all about Pride. Over and over again. Why can't you just find yourself another girl? We had plenty of them. Some were even pretty, others more or less intelligent."

"No!" Wrath raised his head with eyes burning from the anger he felt inside. "There is no other. Pride is the one and only. Other girls just don't exist for me."

Lust took the glass that was meant to be for Wrath.

"Then maybe a man?"

"Only if Pride was a man."

He sighed. Sometimes talking with Wrath was troubling. This guy thinks the world of her. Nothing else matters.

"You need to get over her, because otherwise you're going to be deeply unhappy for the rest of your life. And your life is eternal, so that sucks."

Wrath thought of it as the worst advice ever. He couldn't just get over Pride. It wasn't working that way. Besides, he had hope that one day she'll understand that they're meant to be together. She must. It's their destiny. The two of them together for the rest of their existence.

"One day we'll be together. You'll see."

"Yeah, but until then you're gonna be miserable and make me feel miserable as well, because I'm talking with you way too much and that's affecting me. Missy has softened me up. I feel bad for you and I, uh, want to help you. I can't stand seeing you so broken."

His word made Wrath smile, but only for a moment. He put a hand on his friend's arm and replied, "Only one thing can help me now."

"What's that?" asked Lust, hoping for a reasonable solution.

He turned his head to the door, when suddenly Pride ran to the kitchen with Gregory, who caught her on the threshold and kissed. They started laughing, but then Pride saw the two of them and tried to stay at least a bit serious. It was too hard for her and she started laughing again with her eyes sparkling with happiness.

"It's my pleasure to see you once again, Lust, Wrath." Gregory greeted them politely, like a real gentleman he was. He was a fine lad, even Envy liked him.

"Don't mind us!" Pride caught him by the hand and pulled towards the doors leading to the garden.

"Excuse us!" Gregory added and ran after Pride on the outside.

Their voices and laughing was still audible in the kitchen. Lust thought that it was nice to see Pride being so happy, especially that it hit her hard as well, when Missy died. Now, it was like she was reborn, full of love and joy. Maybe it was ridiculous for them as demons, but if she was happy then who was he to take it away? It's not like he had to talk with Gregory as well.

But Wrath was not happy at all. He took a bottle from the table top and thrust it to the floor. The alcohol spilled all over the tiles and the bottle shattered into pieces. Wrath's eyes were full of hatred and fury. He left the kitchen, not able to listen to Pride and Gregory's voices any longer.

"Easy, there." Lust caught him in the living room, which was far away enough from those two. "Aren't you happy that Pride is happy? If you love her then-"

"She should be happy with me!" Wrath cracked. "This guy doesn't deserve her. He's just a human. He won't be living forever, as we will. And sooner or later he'll leave her and break her heart. And I just can't stand looking at how another man is having my woman!"

Lust wanted to make a comment that Pride wasn't his but figured it wouldn't be the best to tease Wrath right now.

"You said it yourself, he won't stay here forever."

Wrath wasn't going to wait until this guy leaves Pride, making her heartbroken.

"Every day is already too much! He must disappear. He must." Wrath's face suddenly changed as if he found a solution to this problem. He turned to Lust with a small smile. "I see it clearly now. I have to kill him. That's the only way."

That's the worst idea ever, thought Lust.

"Do that and Pride won't forgive you. Bye, bye, true love forever." Not like the two of them were about to happen anyway. Pride fraternized with humans, but she believed that demons shouldn't be together, or at least that they, as seven deadly sins demons, shouldn't mate. Besides, with Wrath's slow and indirect way of picking up Pride, it would take ages anyway.

"She will forgive me. One day she will." Wrath was certain of that. Who knew? Maybe Pride indeed wouldn't be angry forever. It depended how much she actually loves that human. "Besides, you're boycotting their relationship as well."

"Demons shouldn't be with humans, but I took Missy into my care, so it would be a hypocrisy if I told Pride to leave Gregory. You all backed me up with Missy." Lust was trying to find another solution so that Wrath wouldn't sink himself ever more. "Look, he's a soldier. In those times people are dying in numbers. Maybe there won't be any problems in a few years."

Wrath shook his head.

"I'm sorry, Lust, but I have to do it this month. I won't take it any longer. He's weak. I can feel it. He's so weak that meddling with his mind won't be a problem. After living through so much, this soldier guy surely wants to die anyway." Wrath caught Lust by his arm. "You can't understand it now, but maybe you will one day. I want what's best for Pride. And for me. I'm on the edge here and I'm afraid that I can do something even dumber, if Gregory stays in our house."

Lust thought that Wrath was rather a supporter of the idea 'if I can't have her, nobody can.' The fact was that he indeed was going down. Every day was making him more irritated and furious. Soon others will start noticing it as well.

That wasn't funny at all, considering what Wrath might do, but at the same time it was a little bit funny that the fury demon couldn't control his own anger. It always interested Lust.

"She'll hate you," he said, accepting the thought that there was no stopping Wrath.

"Unless you do it." Wrath gave him a sad look full of hope. "Demons shouldn't be bound with humans. That's what you believe in, even after Missy. You would be capable of killing Gregory, I know it."

Lust sighed, "So you prefer Pride to hate me instead of you?"

He surely would take it much better, than Wrath. It would be a shame to ruin the relation he had with Pride, though. Besides Wrath, she was the demon he most liked to talk to.

"Please, Lust. Would you do it?" He was gazing at him with insensitivity, waiting for an answer. For Lust it meant one of the biggest changes, but maybe that was for the better? He didn't like how soft he became after having Missy. It changed for a moment after their revenge in Hell, but now he was again more friendly towards humans. Just like most of them. And they were demons. They shouldn't act that way. This house was messing them up. Demons are demons. They always will be demons. Nothing can change it. And so, maybe it was Wrath who was the most right in all this mess? "Will you kill Gregory for me?" Wrath asked again.

Lust needed to think it through, but deep down he already knew the answer. He wanted to change and become the Lust he used to be, or so he thought. But then again, Pride was his friend as well and he was about to hurt her deeply. He couldn't make that decision right now,  so he said, "I think it through and let you know soon."

Wrath thanked Lust and hugged him, because he knew that even if now he needed time to think about it, his final decision would be the right one.
