Day 5
Racer Seven decided to meet Lloyd at his house before she went with him to the sushi bar like usual. She felt an odd sense of excitement buzz through her as she drove up the long road to the monastery. When she arrived she parked the car before stepping out and sizing up the gates. Seven knew she couldn't double jump in Ninjago, but the gate was so big she was considering having a go.
The sound of puffing and huffing got her attention when a mailman wearing a large sun hat appeared, and a rather ginormous sack on his back. Seven watched him with a puzzled expression as he stumbled by her. He placed down his bag for a second at the top, almost keeling over as he rested his hands on his knees and caught his breathe.
"Um..." Racer Seven tapped him. He glanced at her. "How do you get through the gate?"
"You don't." The mailman grumbled. "You just yell and scream until they open it." Seven stared at him. He stared back.
"It was sarcasm." He muttered, rolling his eyes. He grabbed the sack before kicking at it, causing the unbolted door to swing open enough that Seven could squeeze through. The mailman had some trouble as his bulky bag was to big for the gap. After a large a mount of tugging it pulled through.
Racer Seven stared in awe at the carefully painted murals on the left wall. Each portraying a different adventure. The mailman didn't seem to care and moved on to the front door with an annoyed scowl as he pounded on the wood surface. A camera burst through a panel and moved toward him, a female robotic voice sounding.
"Please state who you are and why you are here." It instructed.
"I'm the mailman!" He shouted with exasperation. "Now come and get your letters or I'm tossing them off the cliff and riding down them like a slide!"
The doors burst open. Seven turned to see a bunch of coloured figures dart out.
"Sorry about that." Kai said to the man. "You can sort of understand our precaution since Ninjago has a thing for evil people appearing on our doorstep."
The mailman wasn't taking it. Giving an unconvinced snort he picked up his bag and turned it upside down, a large spray of envelopes fell from the leather compartment into a large pile at his feet. Kai gaped as the rest of the ninja gathered around. Seven frowned when she noticed Lloyd was absent.
"Is that all addressed to us?" Zane questioned.
"No." The mailman said snatching one from the top and shoving it back in the sack. "That's all yours." Then he turned and stomped away. Muttering something about a raise.
The ninja exchanged looks before Nya spotted Racer Seven.
"Guys look! Seven's here!" She called with a smile, she crossed the courtyard and gave her friend a hug.
"Hi Seven, how ya doing?" Cole said with a grin as Kai and Jay began picking at the letters. The doors swung open as two more figures entered. Seven smiled when she saw Lloyd. He raised his head, his brilliant green eyes fixed on her and his face split in a grin.
"Hey." he nodded to her as his Uncle raised an eyebrow at the pile of paper on the ground.
"Who are they all from?" Seven moved towards them. Lloyd picked one up and sighed as he read over the information on the envelope before passing it off to Seven.
"Fans." He sighed.
Seven raised an eyebrow at his tired and irritated tone. "What's so wrong with that?" She asked as she opened the envelope.
"It's not the fans he doesn't like its the people looking into him for romantic reasons." Kai chuckled. "But the little kids are cute." He showed a little stick figure drawing with each of the ninja.
"Wait a minute," Jay snatched it from Kai. "Why am I so short?" He whipped the paper and pointed at the noticeably smaller scribble drawn with blue crayon.
"Relax Jay," Cole told him, taking it. "It's a little kid, the drawing won't be accurate- why is my head so big?"
Lloyd snickered as Jay and Cole began to bicker over who's was the most inaccurate.
"Your head is big! But I am clearly taller than Nya!" Jay snapped, sizing up next to his girlfriend as proof.
"My head isn't big!" Cole sputtered.
"Hey guys, listen to this!" Kai called over their arguing.
"Dear Lloyd," He began in a high pitched tone. "I think you're so brave and handsome, I work at the coffee shop on sixth street and I'm wondering if you'll meet me there sometime. Here's my number. Love, Tory."
The ninja began to snicker to each other as Lloyd rolled his eyes and took it from Kai, giving it a quick scan before tossing it in the garbage bin Zane's girlfriend PIXAL came out with.
"Do you always get this much fanmail?" Seven asked as she found another love letter addressed to Kai. Kai gladly took it, earning a whack over the head from Nya.
"Not usually at this vast amount." Zane gave an unimpressed look at whatever he was reading before passing it to PIXAL to toss. It was like a line, they read the letter, passed it around to each other, then threw it out.
"Okay, but this is cute!" Nya told them as she held up another kids drawing.
"Not bad." Jay said, studying the one of him."Let's keep that one."
Seven shook her head when Kai started staring at this incredibly detailed portrait of him with a smug smirk. She felt a hand on her shoulder and turned to see Lloyd there.
"Come on, there's nothing important that the others can't handle. Let's get some sushi." Lloyd told her. She smiled.
"Sounds perfect."
