Five
The dining room was at the end of the house next to the ball room and build in swimming pool that was almost never used but for some reason they always had filled and ready for use. The dining room was about half the size of the ballroom that I swore could hold up to at least a thousand people if they found it necessary. The dining room held an oak table that was half a yard long with chairs at all sides that were always polished even when guests weren't scheduled to arrive. Plates were always cleaned and usually were the crystal china that Walkyia's mother had given to him years ago before she divorced his father because of... uh... difference in business opinions. Walkyia doesn't know much about his mother anyway and I didn't think he wanted to know anymore because he never asked anyone about her because she had left when he was three. She gave a three year old some of the most expensive china work that anyone could buy so I had to assume that she wasn't the brightest.
The chandelier hung in the middle with golden crystals that shone against the light whether it be cause by moon or sun and they dangled in such a way that when they hit one another they played a sweet melody. The walls were painted an off shade of white that went well with the wooden floors that had been freshly waxed and the room smelled of pancakes and coffee. On the walls were pictures of Walkyia's ancestors even though he seemed less interested in all of them except for his father who was at the end of the long line. His hair had been brown when the picture was taken and the wrinkles he had weren't as deep as they were now from worry and stress. His glasses were thick framed making him look slightly nerdy instead of the thin ones that he wore now to make him look threatening, and don't get me wrong he was a scary man. He still however wore those dreary grey suites that were always a size to big but everyone kept their mouths shut in fear of their jobs and or their paychecks.
Walkyia knew that someday he would have to inherit the family business because he was an only child, but he had no interest in such things as politics or taxes. He told me that he would most likely sell it and take what profit he could instead of trying something new and going completely bankrupt. I had to agree on one thing, to be in a business you had to be able to control your mouth and Walkyia lacked slightly in that department and that meant trouble. That didn't change the fact that someday he would go down in his family history book even if he wanted to stay as far from it as possible. I gave a sigh, it was a little too complicated for me to understand because I wouldn't inherit anything from my father except for a couple of medical bills I need to pay and rent. I could accept those terms over the ones Walkyia are forced upon any day but I wouldn't tell him that because then he would get mad at me and tell me that he didn't like to be babied.
I walked towards the double doors before stopping when I heard voices behind it, one was Walkyia's but the others was so low that I couldn't quite make out what he was saying. I slowly placed my hand on the door but held my breath because I didn't know if it was a good idea to go in or not, this could be important business stuff that I didn't understand. Walkyia would be upset if I didn't show up for breakfast but he might understand if I explained that I didn't want to get in the way. I jumped as I heard the door open and looked up to see one of Walkyia's maids staring at me with a small smile before stepping out of the way to allow me inside. I gave a sigh as I smiled back, "Thank you," I mumbled as I walked by her before looking down the long table to see Walkyia glaring at the man in front of him. My heart stopped as the male grew silent as he noticed me there and gave a sigh before glaring at me with a slight look of disappointment, "Hello Hoji. Still leaching with my son are you?."
"I guess so sir," I mumbled through my lips as I looked at Walkyia's father as I felt his eyes tear deep in me and Walkyia looked up at me before looking at the seat next to him. I walked over to take my seat but his father coughed before pointing to a chair that was at the other end of the table and made me just out of hearing distance. I gave a sigh but didn't argue as I took my seat and looked at Walkyia who seemed just as irritated but I knew that he wasn't going to pick a fight with someone like his father. "Still hanging out with the minorities are we Walkyia?," I heard him say but I had to strain to hear him but I soon shook my head as I leaned back in my chair because I didn't want to listen about his opinions. I guess it was about time that I told you another problem, Walkyia's father was racist and not to mention that he didn't really approve of homosexuals.
Walkyia's father had asked mine if he had any kids to play with and little did he know that my mother had been African American before she died of cancer a few years back. He didn't say anything to my father but he told Walkyia to stay away from me, but that didn't last long because he would invite me over whenever his father was on business trips- which was always. He eventually gave up and gave us permission to hang out together, but that didn't mean that he like me anymore than the day he first laid eyes on me. "Hoji isn't minor on anything," Walkyia snapped but straightened up as his father gave a small laugh and crossed his legs so he could lean into his palm with a smug look on his face. "Yes, yes that would be something that you would say. So how about some breakfast and we talk about money? I am changing your position in my will," he said as he slowly sipped some coffee that was in a small crystal teacup that shone off of Walkyia's eyes that grew slightly wide.
"What? How? There isn't anyone else who is direct bloodline," he persisted with a small trace of worry in his voice but he hid it well by straightening his back so that he could tower over his father that closed his eyes as he swallowed his drink slowly. "We both know that you are incompetent Walkyia," he said and Walkyia's shoulders loosened but he simply shook his head but continued to listen to his father while I bit my tongue so I wouldn't yell out. "Your mother was the same way and I am not confident in your ability to lead, but that could change once you get married. I know that when I was younger marriage changed me into the man I am today," he said as he opened his eyes into then slits that looked like a serpent ready to attack their prey. 'What a scary thought that marriage could turn you into that' I thought as I looked over at Walkyia who bit his lip before looking at the kitchen doors.
"I don't see how that has anything to do with my inheritance," Walkyia said with slight irritation in his voice but he had every right to be because his father was dancing all over the one thing that he actually was counting on. His father gave a small nod before taking another slow sip of his coffee leaving us both in an awkward silence that faded into tension. "I am going to give seventy five percent of it to your cousins," he said and I straightened my back so I could glare at his father who had a smile on his lips as Walkyia opened his mouth to speak but no words would come out. "The only cousin I have contact with is the five month old that lives in a different country," Walkyia said after a moment and his father gave a small nod and it was only then did I realize that somewhere in the world was a baby worth over half a billion dollars. Once again Walkyia's father had pushed him aside to focus on something else that shouldn't mean half as much as his own family.
"The one and the same. I'm sure that she will use the money wisely but don't worry I plan to give you the business so you should be able to make just as much or more. I know that you have the talent but I don't know if you have the confidence to use them," he slowly stood up and gave a small sigh as he put his teacup back onto the napkin before rubbing his hands on his lap. "Now I will be off. So sorry to leave you alone again...," he looked over at Walkyia and fixed his tie but didn't bother to address him because he didn't have the notion to do so. He showed Walkyia almost no respect but we had to assume that is because he is a racist rude hypocrite that needs to be hit by a bus. I straightened up as he walked past me and was sure to keep his eyes on me before slamming the dining room doors shut as he walked out.
"Damnit!," Walkyia yelled before laying his head on the table and I gave a sigh before standing up to walk over to him so I could wrap my arms around him. His hair was soft against my face and I wondered if he had somehow snuck in a shower because he smelled like sweet roses and shampoo. "Don't listen to him. If anyone has confidence around here it would be you," I said with a small smile and placed a kiss on his head and he groaned a little but rose his head so I could place a kiss on his cheek then his neck. "Hoji we are going to get caught if you can't control your urges," he said and I mumbled something into his hair and he looked over his shoulder before putting his hand on my face to lightly push me away. "I am being serious. If my father found out about you then he would probably nail you to the wall or something like that."
"I think he looks like more of a voodoo doll kind of guy," I whispered in his ear and he gave a small smile as I placed a kiss on his ear but jumped as I heard the kitchen doors open. "Master Walkyia will you be eating here this morning?," she asked with a small blush on her cheeks and I tensed because I feared that she had saw the two of us together. "No, no I will be going out," he said before standing up and I had to take a step back because the chair came back harder than anticipated and hit me hard in the knees. "Come on Hoji were heading to your house," he said before pushing past me and I stood there dumbfounded but soon the realization hit me about what he had said. "Wait Walkyia!," I yelled after him as the door closed and I pushed past the maid so I would be able to catch up with him because I still need to talk about us spending time apart.
"Walkyia!," I yelled as I looked down the hall to see him standing there talking to his driver who gave a small bow before heading outside. "Walkyia we need to talk about something important," I panted out as I slowly walked up to him and leaned against the wall, I always did lose breathe easier when I was under pressure. "We can talk about it in the car then," he said and I grabbed his arm and pulled him into a kiss, his breath got caught but he didn't push me away as I pushed him against the wall lightly. His fingers intertwined in mine and his mouth lightly brushed against mine while his eyes lightly fluttered closed. "We need to talk about it now," I demanded as we slowly parted and he rolled his eyes but didn't seem to want to fight with me. "Alright then spill it out if it is that important to you," he said in a rude tone before crossing his arms across his chest, his lips inches away from mine as I felt his hot breath against my lips.
"We need some time apart," I said plainly and his eyes widened like he had just been shot but I quickly continued so he wouldn't be able to add his piece about things. "I mean I am going to stop coming over," I said and he looked even more hurt but I put my hand up to stop him from arguing with me. "I mean in till our match at the tournaments are over I don't want us seeing anything of each other, if that makes sense. I want us to surprise one another and I know that you think that it is a waste of time but to me it means everything so could you please just this once not fight me," I said and he looked up at me before biting his lip but didn't seem to want to fight me on it. I knew that if I hadn't worded it the way I did then he wouldn't have let me win so easily but that was Walkyia's problem... he could never win when he couldn't accept defeat.
"It doesn't matter what I say you still won't come over," Walkyia said eventually with a sigh before bringing his lips to mine and gripped my shoulders tighter than he ever had before. He tasted sweeter and he was gentler with his movements as his lips danced on mine lightly before pulling back so he could look into my eyes. "For what it is worth I will sort of miss you," he said as he pushed me away and called a couple maids over who had just left the kitchen with an arm full of trays to go and get the gardener.
The next thing I knew I was thrown out by force onto the hard dirt ground, and here I thought Walkyia was handling it well.
