  The night of the Halloween party in my fifth years was fantastic. I met him, tall, bleach-blonde hair. He asked me to dance, and while we did, I forgot all about Lily Evans. What did a silly girl matter, when such a perfect boy existed?

  I felt on top of the world as we danced around the great hall, dodging bats and Halloween decorations. Late into the party we danced, but every night comes to an end, and eventually we left the great hall, holding hands. As we said our goodbyes, I hoped I would get to do this with him again next year.

  Just as we were about to go our separate ways, he leaned in and gave me a kiss. That kiss stayed with me all night, and long after, but I never did get the courage to ask him out again.

  The next year, Lily asked me out. What was I supposed to do, after all those years of unabashedly courting her? I said yes, and we soon became the partners of the dance. But one day, as I held Lily's hand, I passed him in the hallway and I wondered if he looked a little disappointed.
