"Phone Guy"

At lunch break, Scott headed off from his post in the Office and into the break room, which was just off from the kitchen. Mike and Vincent were in there already. Vincent was leaning on the bench.

"Hey, Scott," Vincent said. "I brought you something."

Scott looked at him, and instantly went a shade darker in the face. Just looking at him brought back memories of earlier this morning, not to mention... Vincent may or may not have awoken a sex drive that Scott didn't know he had, which now threatened to break through every time he thought about his co-worker. "Uh, a-aha. What is it?"

Vincent chucked him a packet of noodles, which he caught.

"That's to make up for the ones I ate at your place," Vincent said.

"Oh, thanks," Scott grinned. "I didn't bring lunch for myself, so I'll have these now!" Happily, he walked off into the adjacent kitchen which held a microwave and kettle for employees.

Vincent sat down in a chair near Mike, and pointedly ignored him. They sat in silence for a little bit, Vincent just getting relaxed into the uncomfortable plastic seat when the break room door was slammed open, and a group of 10 or so teenagers ran in.

"Hey!" Mike jumped off of his seat, "This room is Staff Only! Who gave you access?!"

The girls moved to the side a pushed somebody through, somebody who was trembling all over.

"S-S-Sorry. T-T-They s-s-scared it o-out of m-me..." Jeremy scuttled away from the group of girls and cowered next to Mike.

Mike glared at the girls, "You think you have the right to burst in here and torment our staff!?"

"Cool it, Mike," Vincent said. "Morning, girls. How can I help you this day?"

"We're looking for the Phone Guy!" A tall, long black-haired girl spoke, her hands on her hips.

Scott walked out of the kitchen with his bowl of noodles. His eyes widened as he saw the girls, and he tried to get past them and squeeze out, but another one of the girls, a red-head, pushed him back and slammed him down into a chair in between Mike and Vincent.

"Nobody's leaving," Red-hair said, "Until we find the Phone Guy!"

Scott gave desperate glances at Mike and Vincent, but they didn't look at him.

Mike, however, sat down in his chair again, regarding the girls carefully, "You're looking for ol' Ring Ring, are you?"

"You know him?" One of the girls asked.

"Oh, I know him, alright," Mike grinned slyly, glancing at Vincent, "That is, if this Phone Guy is who I think he is?"

"He is," Vincent replied.

Scot wanted to say something, try to desperately let Mike and Vincent know not to give him away, but he knew that the girls would recognise his voice, so he stayed silent.

"I suppose he wouldn't want these girls knowing who he is, would he?" Mike asked.

"No, he wouldn't," Vincent grinned as well.

Mike and Vincent let out matching devious chuckles, and faced the girls. "We'll give you 10 questions."

"Good," the black-haired girl said. "Okay. Does he work here?"

"Yes," Vincent and Mike said.

"Hmm, and he is your boyfriend?" the girl asked.

"Yes," Vincent replied.

Scott coughed loudly over his bowl of noodles. Liar!

"Woah, woah," Mike said, turning to look at Vincent, totally ignoring Scott who was sitting next to him. "You guys are together?"

"Oh, yeah," Vincent lounged in his chair, ignoring the desperate look that Scott was giving him. "We've been together for a while now. Ever since he took me on that date."

The girls watched, rapt, listening in to the shonen-ai. Some of them were even taking notes.

"That was a date?" Mike asked, giving a little gasp. "What happened?!"

"Well, he took me to see a movie at the drive in. See, at first I thought it was just us hanging out, but then he bought snacks for me and we sat on top of his car cuddling into each other..."

Scott shoved noodles into his mouth to stop himself from screaming out at Vincent.

"Then, after the movie had finished, he invited me on a walk around the track with him. About halfway through, he stopped, and he said, "Vincent, there's something I need to tell you.""

The girls gasped.

Scott fumed, feeling helpless and knowing that Vincent was more than aware that that is not what happened. He was going to kill him if this went any further. He continued shoving noodles into his mouth at superhuman speed.

"So, of course, I stopped and asked him what it was. He was silent for a long time, and then he says, "We've worked together for a long time and... and, Vincent, I think I'm in love with you." "

Scott choked on his noodles, coughing and spluttering as his mind whirled. Vincent, see if I ever invite you over to stay the night again! He took a wheezing breath and realised everyone was looking at him.

He cleared his throat.

"Are you alright, Scott?" Mike asked, a smug grin plastered across his face. "You're looking a little red."

Scott glared at Mike and shook his head quickly, reaching forward for the water bottle on the table, which he quickly drank out of, trying to control his blush.

Vincent looked at Scott sceptically, "You're not homophobic, are you, Scott? That's pretty shallow. Do you have a problem with me and my boyfriend?"

Scott glared viciously at Vincent, then nodded, then went back to his drink. For your information, I /do/ have a problem with it.

"Well," Vincent leaned back and folded his arms, "Then you're not going to like what comes next, because that was when - I'll call him Phone Guy for now - leaned forward and kissed me."

Scott did a spit take, spraying water everywhere.

The girls squealed - a few of them got wet - but they got over it quickly and turned back to Vincent, "What happened next?"

Vincent stood up, walking over to the tall black-haired girl. "Well~," He pulled her forwards, wrapping an arm around her waist before leaning in until he was just an inch away from her, "I kissed him back, of course~"

All the girls squealed, a few of them fanning themselves with their hands, a few of them grabbing on to each other.

Scott was internally dying. What did Vincent think he was doing?! An emotion he wasn't familiar with started boiling up in him, like an angry beast that wanted to claw that girl apart.

"W-What are you... d-doing?" The tall girl breathed, her whole face bright red.

"Making my boyfriend jealous~" Vincent purred, and then he pulled the girl in the rest of the way.

Scott couldn't take it. He jumped to his feet, "Vincent, stop it!"

The girls all took a collective gasp, "He's the Phone Guy!"

Vincent let go of the tall girl, who looked dazed as though she just might faint, "He... he... he almost kissed me..." She let out a long sigh and collapsed against the wall.

Scott glared at Vincent, "That's not good of you, to treat these girls like this! You know that you're gay, so what's the point on leading them on?!"

Vincent grinned, stepping forwards and pulling Scott into him, "The point was making you admit it~"

"Admit what?!" Scott pushed Vincent away angrily, "Admit to being your boyfriend, when you know I'm not?! Admit to kissing you, when I've never kissed anyone in my entire life?!"

Vincent blinked and then narrowed his eyes, "I was just joking around, Scott, can't you take a joke?!"

"I can take jokes fine, but that was no joke, Vincent!" Scott yelled. "You were embarrassing me!"

"Well, sorry, Scott. You want me to tell the teacher? Want me to call your parents?" Vincent smirked.

"Ugh!" Scott pushed past the group of staring girls and out of the break room.

Vincent followed.

Mike blinked after them, "This is not going to end well."

--

Scott stormed across the Dining Hall, Vincent following behind him.

"Scott, come on, you're not mad at me, are you?" Vincent spoke up.

"Hmm, let me see... Of course I'm mad at you!" Scott snapped, "You're rude and irresponsible!"

Heads turned as Scott and Vincent walked past - their conversation could be heard over the din of children and adults - it was very busy today.

"Oh, come on," Vincent groaned, "You were just jealous, that's all!"

"Jealous? Jealous?" Scott stopped walking in the middle of the Dining Hall and turned to face him, "You think jealousy is why I'm mad at you? Vincent! Those girls have a crush on you, and you know you'll never love any of them, so why would you pretend like you do? Do you have any idea how painful it is to love someone and know that you can't?! That it's not right?! That you shouldn't?!" His voice rose with every word, until he practically shrieked the final sentence. "Do you know how hard it is when they pretend like they love you back?!"

"You think I care?!" Vincent shouted back, "News flash; I don't! What does it matter to me if those girls have their hearts broken?! Nothing! Why should I care about them?"

Scott growled, then he screamed, "Guys like you is why I wish I was straight!"

A deadly silence fell like a blanket across the Dining Hall. Not even the animatronics' awful singing permeated the quiet.

Scott's eyes widened, he gasped and looked around at the patrons in the restaurant. Everybody was staring at him. He scanned each of the faces, feeling a sense of hopelessness swallow him whole. He'd just screamed out that he wasn't straight to about 250 people, including his co-workers, his Boss, and even some people he knew.

Vincent's laugh was what finally broke the silence. He grinned, crossing his arms and looking at Scott with mock pity. "Well, well. Look who just came out to more people than he bargained for~"

Scott looked back at Vincent, searching his face and body language for some kind of remorse, searching for support from the co-worker he'd grown to be friends with. Finding none, he felt his eyes warm with tears, "Vincent...?"

"What's wrong, Scott?" Vincent started circling him, walking around him slowly. Facing the audience, he said, "Oh, that's right. You didn't want anybody to know your little secret, did you?" Vincent laughed again, stopping in front of Scott and leaning into him, making sure everybody could hear as he said, "You didn't seem to have too much of a problem with it when you took me on a date, did you?" He shoved Scott hard in the chest, and Scott was pushed backwards, "It didn't seem to bother you when you asked me to, and I quote, shut up and kiss you. And it certainly didn't cross your mind this morning, did it, Scott? Before Mike found us, you would have let me go all the way with you, wouldn't you, Scott?"

Scott stared at Vincent, his eyes wide, feeling hurt consume him and the last tiny spark of hope inside himself die. "You promised you wouldn't tell," he whispered, his voice cracking, and then he said it louder, shouting, "You promised you wouldn't tell!"

The tears started falling, and Scott turned and ran out of the room.
