Mike, The Love Guru.
Vincent ran into the Office, skidding on the sudden tiles. Mike was asleep, as expected, leaning back with his mouth open, snoring the house down.
Vincent grabbed the back of the chair and tipped it up.
"W-Woah!" Mike was woken up as the chair fell backwards and he summersaulted to the ground, "Ow!"
"Mike," Vincent said, "I need you to tell me something."
Mike groaned, untangling himself so his face wasn't planted into the floor. Lifting one hand to nurse his face, he murmured, "Talk about a rude awakening."
"Is Scott serious?" Vincent asked, not waiting for him to get over the pain.
"What about Scott...?" Mike frowned, "You literally slammed me to the ground to ask me something about your crush?"
"Yes," Vincent replied matter-of-factly.
Mike took his hand away from his face and sighed, crossing his legs on the floor, "Okay. Shoot."
"Is he tricking me? He told me he's not over me. Is this another one of your guys' sick pranks?" Vincent asked, looking into Mike's eyes for some kind of clue.
"Ohhh," Mike nodded, "That's what all this is about. Yeah, he's not joking. We broke up last night."
"Broke up!? He's available!? Vincent's eyes widened, "He's not joking? He's not joking?!" He began to pace side to side in the Office, from one door to the next, "Should I make a move? More importantly, why shouldn't I make move? Do you think he'd go on a date if I asked him?"
"Woah, woah, slow down, cowboy," Mike stood up, stepping in front of Vincent to stop his pacing. "He's made it quite clear to me that he doesn't want a relationship with you."
Vincent paused, blinking at Mike, "He doesn't want a... why not!?"
"Because he's afraid you're going to hurt him again," Mike said quietly.
Vincent's eyes widened, he went limp, his arms hanging at his sides, "Oh."
Mike gave him a sympathetic look, then shrugged, "Look, it's not much, but Scott's really into romance. Maybe you can prove to him that you're not going to do it again. You're still coming to the Christmas party, right?"
"When is it, again?" Vincent asked, perking up.
"Next Saturday," Mike said. "See you there, hey?"
"Oho, yeah," Vincent grinned, "I'll definitely see you there."
"There's the annoyingly persistent Vincent I know," Mike smirked, crossing his arms across his chest, "But next time, just shake me awake, okay?"
"No promises," Vincent's grin widened, and he turned and walked out of the room.
Walking down the corridor, he spotted Scott standing in the middle of the room, looking around - presumably for Vincent.
Vincent walked up behind him, snaking an arm around his waist and resting his chin on Scott's neck, "Looking for someone?~"
Scott stiffened, he spun around in Vincent's grasp, ignoring the squeals from teenage girls scattered around the room, "Actually Vincent, this is what I wanted to talk to you about."
Vincent let go of Scott, cocking his head curiously, "How do you mean?"
"Well... I know... I mean, if what the girls say is really true, I know you're... fond of me..." Scott glanced up at Vincent as if looking for confirmation of that fact, before continuing, "But... I'm not ready for a relationship right now..."
"You don't want to date me," Vincent corrected. "I know."
Scott gave a half-hearted smile, "So, I'd really appreciate it if you lay off the obnoxious flirting. Just for a little bit."
Vincent pouted, "Subtle flirting?"
Scott scoffed, rolling his eyes, but he smiled, "Okay. Subtle flirting. But only occasionally."
"Sounds good to me, handsome," Vincent said, grinning, "Don't worry. I can respect that you're a little... wary of me. But I promise I'll make it up to you, Scott. In every way I can."
Scott smiled a little more, and a slight blush rose to his face. He looked like he was about to go in for a second hug, but then his smile disappeared. "Uh... I... I gotta be somewhere..."
Vincent blinked, confused, but Scott was already walking off.
--
For the second time that day, Mike had a visitor.
"Mike. We need to talk."
Mike sighed, rolling his eyes, And they say girls are difficult. "Yeah, Scott. What do you want?"
Scott closed the Office door behind him, then walked up close to Mike, talking quietly as if afraid of being overheard, "You said it would help me get over him. Getting close to him again. So what did I do? I let my walls down, I told him everything, and it's only gotten worse!"
"What's gotten worse?" Mike asked.
Scott looked at him, unimpressed, then, "Every time I look at him, I want him to sweep me off my feet and carry me somewhere we can live together forever."
"Oh," Mike said. "That."
Scott groaned, dragging his hands down his face, "It's so haarrrdd..."
Mike shrugged, "I don't know, Scott. Maybe... Maybe it would be for the best if you... did give him a shot?"
Scott laughed dryly, "Yeah. Right. First night we spend together and I'll wake up with a note on the end of my bed saying, 'it was fun, better luck next time'. The day Vincent honestly wants to love me for who I am, I'll marry him right then and there."
"I wouldn't be making that bet if I were you," Mike said.
Scott shrugged, sighing, "Whatever."
Mike shook his head, chuckling.
"What?" Scott asked.
"It's just interesting, is all. I've had both you and Vincent come to me for advice during the day. I feel like a love guru."
Scott's eyes widened, "Vincent? Came to you? For advice? On me? What did he ask!?!"
Mike smirked, putting a finger to his lips, "Sorry. Client confidentiality."
Scott frowned, glaring at Mike, "Curse you. C'mon, I'm your ex? Tell me? Pleaaaaaase?"
Mike raised an eyebrow, "Oh? But I have to be fair. If I tell you what Vincent asked, I might have to tell Vincent... Oh, what did you say? 'Every time I look at him, I want him to sweep me off my feet and carry me somewhere we can live together forever'?"
Scott froze, gaping, "Oh. Oh oh. I should just never open my mouth."
Mike smirked again, chuckling, "Definitely not."
