Bang! Bang! were the sounds that awoken 5-year-old Theresa at midnight. Little Terry climbed out of bed and went to her mother's bedroom. "Mommy! Mommy! I heard a loud noise!", she yelled as her tiny body ran. But, she stopped at the door when she saw something that made her even more scared.

Her mother, Eileen, was lying on the ground. Blood soaked her nightgown and the carpet beneath her. Eileen's face was a ghostly white, and her eyes were closed. Terry gasped as she ran to her mother. "Mommy? Mommy, wake up!", Terry cried. She has heard stories about death, and she feared that her own mother was just like one of the characters.

A while later, a police officer named Kyle talked to Theresa as she was being cleaned off by two doctors. He told her that her mommy was sleeping and that she might be too tired to wake up. Terry gasped and went to her mother before she was taken away. She placed a kiss on Eileen's lips and whispered,"Night mommy. I love you." Her mother was then taken to the hospital where she was to be examined.
Soon, a van from an orphanage came to pick up Theresa and her things. Terry knew that she would never see her mommy again.
