    Those words echoed in your head for what seemed like forever. Did he just say he loved you? That he loved you more than Noah did? That he could love you better than Noah did? You knew he loved you; he must have. He saved you from your aunt and took care of you, but you thought that was just him doing his job as a Servamp. But was there something more?

    "W-what...?" you asked softly, wondering if you had even heard him correctly.

    "I love you, and I know that I will do so much better than that jerk did. I knew Noah wasn't for you. Because I love you more than I have ever loved an eve, just like Lawless loved Ophelia. I love you, and he is a fool for giving up such a beautiful diamond. Even if you don't accept my love right now, I'll wait until you finally can. Once the hurt stops hurting and everything is better, I'll still be waiting. Because I love you more than he ever did," came his soothing reply.

    Your breath hitched in your throat. Kuro's normal monotone voice had become one filled with caring, comfort, love. You hated the thought of that word, but you knew that's what it was. The idea of the word twisted your stomach, and you wanted to throw up. You couldn't picture yourself in another relationship, not with all of the hurt inside of you.

    You knew he could sense the sudden tension that filled your body because he held you closer and rubbed your stomach soothingly. "It's okay; I know the thought of another relationship probably makes you feel sick. The hurt hasn't gone away, yet. But it will, and so will that guy. And I'll be right here when it does."

    And suddenly...it didn't hurt so bad anymore.
