Years later Sasuke was back in the village, but Yuzuki still hadn't spoken a word to him. The last time she saw him was the day he came back. He had tried to reach out to her. To hear her voice again. The girl wanted nothing to do with him. She wouldn't forgive him for the pain he had caused. To her friends, or to herself.

Weeks went by and any time she saw even a glimpse of him she would turn the other way. She would always find a way to avoid him. By this time she was twenty years old, and a Jōnin. She was a skilled medic, with special abilities granted to her by the Teruo's Kekkei Genkai.

She was able to go two months without speaking to him. Then she was called on a mission. The young woman stood at the village gates, her eyes downcast to the ground as she waited anxiously for the man she'd hoped to never talk to again.

Footsteps echoed in her ears and she looked up, spotting the Uchiha. His hair was longer and his features were almost flawless. She looked away when his dark eyes met hers.

The straightened and threw her backpack over her shoulder, turning her back to him when he came close enough. "We need to leave now if we want to get to the Land of Light by sundown tomorrow." She started towards the village gates without another word. The Uchiha followed closely behind, making sure that it was a safe enough distance to not make the girl upset.

~

After twelve hours of travel the woman decided that they needed to take a break and they went to a nearby river to rest.

Sasuke sat underneath a tree, his Sharingan activated to check their surrounding before he could relax. Once he knew it was safe, he deactivated his Sharingan, his eyes returning to their normal obsidian color.

He watched as Yuzuki knelt down next to the river, gathering water into a canteen and take a swig from the bottle. He looked forward when she stood up and turned around, choosing to sit a few feet away from him rather than next to him. Her distaste for him was obvious. Sighing, he took a swig out of his own canteen, his mind whirring.

He had find a way to make it up to her. Though he doubted it would be easy. He'd made many mistakes, but what he did to her was the probably the worst mistake of his life. He just hoped that there was still a chance for them to start again.

~

It took another day of utter silence before they made it to the Land of Light, once they made it to the Capital, they were greeted by a cheerful man. "Greetings! Thank you so much for coming!" His eyes shined brightly as he spoke. "My name is Tozen, I am here to escort you to the palace so that you may be settled in before the ceremony tomorrow."

"Thank you, Tozen," Yuzuki and Sasuke bowed their heads respectfully. The two followed the man through the streets of the capital village, noticing the citizens decorating their homes and businesses in preparation for the celebrations after the coronation ceremony.

The Feudal Lord was stepping down, and his son Hiroki was taking his place. They were hired to guard the ceremony from anyone trying to assassinate or otherwise harm the royals.

As the two entered the palace, their shoulders brushed together, causing Yuzuki to flinch back slightly. This didn't go unnoticed by Sasuke, of course. Her actions made him furrow his brows, she really couldn't stand to even touch him?

After meeting with the Feudal Lord and Hiroshi, his twenty five year old son that would not take his eyes off of Yuzuki, much to Sasuke's chagrin, they were sent to their room.

What infuriated him even more was the fact that in conversation the crown prince kept flirting with her, which caused the girl to blush furiously. He even went as far as propositioning her to meet him in his room later that evening, no doubt to have his way with her. What put Sasuke over the edge was the fact that she didn't say no. Despite it not being his place to even talk to her about it, he wasted no time in letting his opinion be heard.

"I don't think it's a good idea for you to be messing around with Hiroshi," he spoke, throwing his bag on the queen sized bed that was provided for them. Apparently all their rooms with two beds were taken by other lords and ladies.

Yuzuki's eye twitched, rage flaring in her chest as she slammed her backpack down on the bed, her black eyes meeting his. "I don't recall asking for your opinion, Uchiha."

He met her eyes, unwavering at the fire in her eyes, as if daring him to say more. It was unusually satisfying. Smirking, he chose his next words carefully, "It was obvious he wanted you to sleep with him. It's not wise to sleep with your clients, Yuzuki."

Her body shook as she growled, "It is none of your business what I do. You have no right to talk to me like I'm a child!" Her low growl rose into a shout. So what if she did sleep with him? It's not like she was promiscuous in the slightest.

He didn't know why he said his next words, maybe it was the fact that she was actually talking to him. It's something that made his heart thump even faster. It didn't matter if she was shouting at him. "You were blushing like an idiot. You didn't even say no, Yuzuki."

Finally, she snapped, turning around to leave when she heard him say, "Remember what I said." She swiped a kunai from her ninja pack on her thigh, throwing the blade at the Uchiha, aiming right for his eye. The Uchiha swiftly blocked it, his eyes dark.

Slamming the door shut behind her, she ran down the hall to find somewhere she could sit in peace to cool down. She was grown enough and mature enough to decide if she wanted to sleep with someone or not. She hadn't said no because she was too flustered to do so. Although, even if she wasn't flustered would she have said no?

Sasuke was right about it not being wise to sleep with a client. Ugh. She really did not want him to be right about this. She had never broken the rules before, would it be so bad if she broke them just once? Was she even doing this for herself or was it just to spite her teammate? She wasn't sure and she didn't really want to know the answer.

She couldn't believe the audacity he had, thinking that he could just waltz into her life after eight years, eight years after he made her feel like trash, and start spouting his opinion. She could not believe that she had fallen for that jerk.

Yuzuki was so enraptured in her thoughts that she didn't notice someone approaching as she stood out on a balcony overlooking the courtyard. A certain blonde headed prince stepped up next to her, his hands resting in the railing before them. He noticed her knuckles were white as she gripped the railing tightly and the stress in her features.

"Yuzuki-san, what are you thinking about?" He asked.

The young woman jumped slightly, having not noticed his presence. "Oh, uh, nothing. Just... my plans for tonight." She lied. Turning to face him, she found herself staring into cerulean eyes that were almost more beautiful than Naruto's. Almost. And by god was this man as beautiful as his ocean eyes.

"For tonight?" He questioned and she nodded in answer. "I see. You're not spending it with your teammate... what was his name?"

"Sasuke. And no. We're not exactly on good terms." She informed him. Unsure as to why she was even telling the prince this. It might have been the fact that his looks made her lips move of her own will but she found herself lost in his shining eyes and words as sweet as candy.

"Well that's a shame, would you like to spend time with me instead? You don't have to, of course. But your company would be welcome."

Yuzuki found herself nodding, allowing him to take her hand and lead her on an adventure.

They spent hours together. Hiroshi took her to a koi fish pond in the royal garden to feed the fish. Then they watched the sunset at the highest balcony in the palace. They ate dinner and then he took her to see the lit up court yard that had been decorated for the ceremony.

Needless to say, the prince knew how to charm a woman. He was kind, smart, funny, and gentle. All of this coupled with the fact that she was extremely attracted to him, is why she allowed him to lead her to his room that night.

As soon as she shut the door behind them and turned around, he crashed his lips against hers. Wasting no time, she allowed him to wrap his arms around her waist as she tangled her hands in his silky blonde hair. Pressing her against the door, he moved on from her lips and planted kisses along her jaw and down her neck.

His lips were soft and gentle, but he knew just how to move them. She slipped her hands under his shirt, kissing his neck and nibbling on his earlobe. Hiroshi's pants tightened at her actions, leading him to lift her up and place her thighs around his waist to carry her to his bed.

She fell back onto his silky duvet, her hair splayed out around her head. Her cheeks were flushed and lips slightly swollen. Lifting his shirt up and over his head, the prince leaned over the young woman, his hips between her thighs.

He swiftly undid her obi, her blouse falling open. Engulfing her lips with his, he trailed his hand over her torso. Only when his hand dipped beneath the waistline of her shorts did she realize she didn't want to do this. This wasn't like her at all. She would normally never do something like this. "Wait!" She broke away from the kiss, grabbing his wrist and pulling his hand away.

Hiroshi looked at her, the puzzled expression on his face causing her to grimace inwardly. I'm a fucking idiot. She thought.

"What's wrong?" He asked, confusion still present in his eyes as he leaned up, allowing her to sit up as well.

"I-I'm sorry.... I can't." She hung her head, placing her face in her hands in embarrassment. Not only was she an idiot, she was making a fool of herself. Hiroshi sighed, understanding her predicament. It didn't make him any less annoyed, though he didn't show his irritation. He only felt that way because he was fully prepared to get inside her.

"It's fine," he got off the bed, picking up his shirt off the ground and tossing it in his bed. He went to his wardrobe, pulling out his night clothes. "I just wish you would have told me before I got hard."

She looked up at him as he approached her, a blush rising to her cheeks. "You're not mad?"

Rolling his eyes, the prince sat down, handing her the black obi he'd thrown to the floor minutes before. "No, I'm not mad." He forced himself to look away from her bare skin as she stood up, her blouse was still wide open. Despite wanting to give her some privacy, he found himself looking over at her. Her back was turned to him as she fumbled with her obi, her top sliding down her shoulders to expose her back. His eyes widened when he saw the pink scars on her pale skin. Yuzuki never showed them to anyone.

She got them from one particular battle she never wanted to think about again. They had been healed sloppily as she struggled to fight her enemies off.

Hiroshi looked away when she finally finished fixing her shirt and turned back around. "Listen, I-I really wanted to. It's just... I'm not that kind of person."

Hiroshi smirked at her, "A beautiful woman that won't have sex with me, this is new. But, I understand. No need to be sorry."

"I should go," she smiled sheepishly, back up to the door as he approached her.

"Before you go," he grabbed her by the waist, pulling her into one last kiss before letting her go. He wanted to savor how his lips felt on hers. "Bye, Yuzuki-san. Rest well."

Yuzuki sighed as she went back to her room, realizing it was past midnight. She had to wake up early to prepare for the ceremony. The woman whined as she approached her room. When she entered she noticed the light was still on and walked in to find Sasuke sitting in a chair in the corner, his dark eyes on her.

"What are you doing still up?"

"Where were you?"

Rolling her eyes, Yuzuki sat on her side of the bed, grabbing her night clothes before heading behind the changing wall. Sasuke watched her silhouette as she spoke. "I was out with Hiroshi, if you must know."

Upon hearing her words his whole body tensed up as he bit out his next words. "What were guys doing?"

"None of your business, Uchiha." He felt a fire burning in his chest. No. She couldn't have. Not when he wanted to be the one-he shook his head. "But, it was quite fun," she quipped as she came back out. Of course, they didn't do anything but she wasn't going to tell him that.

He clenched his hands into fists, a feeling he'd never felt in his chest before. Was this what heartbreak felt like? Sasuke thought that maybe this mission could give him the opportunity to reconcile with her and maybe let her know of his feelings. Feelings he'd been holding onto for eight years. "He walked me around the palace and then took me to his room," she quipped and he quickly masked the hurt in his eyes as she looked over at him.

"So you slept with him?" He asked, his voice low.

Her silence made him frown, disappointment fluttered in his chest.

"I'm just kidding, I didn't sleep with him." She laughed, making him glare at her. "What? Were you jealous?"

"No. I just thought you broke the rules."

"Well, you can rest easy now."

Sasuke got up, a smirk on his lips as he laid down in the bed. Yuzuki laid down next to him, noticing the smug look on his face. "Hey! Don't think that I didn't do it because of you! I'm just not like that!"

"Whatever you say." He said cheekily. Yuzuki growled, shoving him off the bed.

"Shut up, Uchiha." She grumbled as she turned on her side to face away from him. "Go to sleep."

~

Yuzuki's eyes peeled open, feeling unusually warm as she woke up. Normally, she felt slightly cold since she always slept alone. Then she noticed an arm wrapped around her waist. As she tried to squirm out of Sasuke's grasp, he only held her tighter. She fought the blush rising to her cheeks as she turned around to face him.

He was still asleep, his breath fanning on her cheeks. "Hey, dobe," she smacked his cheek, not bothering with niceties.

His eyes snapped open, his eyes meeting hers. "Get off me."

~

"Hiroshi, stay with me," Yuzuki urged the young Feudal Lord, extracting the purple colored poison from him. The water housing the purple substance splashed into a bucket next to her. His eyes opened, blue eyes peering up at her. "I extracted the poison but whatever as already attached itself to your organs needs to be dealt with. Stay here while I make the antidote."

Yuzuki sighed, wincing at the ache in her thigh from where she got cut. No one else knew about it, and the only reason she hadn't gone down yet was because she had built up a small tolerance to most poisons. If she didn't hurry she wouldn't be able to make the antidote and save Hiroshi or herself.

It took nearly two hours but she was able to create the antidote. Sasuke came over to her, noticing the sweat drenching her forehead and her pallid skin.

"Are you okay?"

"I... finished... the antidote," she breathed out, her vision blurring. Her legs gave out beneath her and she fell into a pair of strong arms.

"My... leg," she groaned, a nauseating feeling in her stomach. She felt a hand on her thigh, listening as Sasuke barked out orders. He lifted her up and carried her to a free bed in the infirmary as she fell unconscious.

~

It had been days since the attack. The Feudal Lord visited her a few times, much to Sasuke's chagrin. Every time he came to visit, there would be tension between the Uchiha and the young Lord, causing Yuzuki to grow uncomfortable. Finally, she was able to walk around freely without much soreness. The poison was able to cause more damage than it had to Hiroshi because of how long it stayed in her body.

As Yuzuki packed her bag, she heard Sasuke enter the room. "You ready to go?" She asked, having not seen him at all that day.

"Yeah, but, I just wanted to talk to you before we left."

"If it's about what happened eight years ago, forget about it. What's done is done. I've forgiven you."

"Really?"

"Yeah, I mean you clearly have made up for it by trying to protect me during the fight and I saved you. Remember? I think that's answer enough."

Sasuke was relieved, to say the least. But he wasn't done talking to her yet. "That's not all I wanted to talk to you about, Yuzu-chan." The girl froze, her eyes widening at the name he used to call her. It had been so long since she'd heard it come from his lips. It was like milk and honey. She turned to him, fighting back the tears coming to her eyes.

Sasuke was nervous for the first time in his life. He was not good at expressing his feelings and he didn't want to mess this up. "Sasuke?" The Uchiha snapped out of his thoughts, realizing he had been staring at her for too long when he saw at the worried look on her features.

"I've-"

"I love you, Sasuke." She blurted out, beating him to it. A blush was on her cheeks as she rubbed her arms, hugging herself. Sasuke's eyes widened at her confession, not expecting her to do something like that.

"You do?"

Nodding, the girl sat down on her bed as her legs grew wobbly. "I've loved you since we were kids." She whispered, looking down at her lap.

The Uchiha sat down next to her, reaching for her hand. She peered up at him as he held her hand, her eyes wide. "What're you..."

"I doubt anyone ever told you this, but when we went on that mission to find Tsunade and you got hurt, I'd told you I loved you. Obviously you didn't remember but everyone that was there knew."

"You did?"

He nodded, "I knew that one day I would marry you, if you'd have me."

Yuzuki's heart beat hastened, her face becoming an even brighter red. "That's why I was so against you associating with the prince."

Yuzuki groaned inwardly, clearing her throat awkwardly as she looked away. Brows furrowing, Sasuke leaned away to look at her. "Right, Yuzuki? You didn't lie to me?"

"Well, I didn't lie completely... we... did do some stuff..." she looked over at him, noticing the sadness and anger seeping to the surface.

"But I stopped it before it got too far!" She squeaked, reach for his hand that he had pulled away. "I wasn't myself. I didn't want to do it with a guy I had just met."

"Did he at least treat you well?" Sasuke asked lowly, jealousy seeping up from the depths of his heart.

"Well, yeah... he was very gentle and he was very understanding." She spoke highly of him. He was very kind and even wanted to be friends with her after, it helped that she had saved his life. "But I would much rather be intimate with you, instead."

Sasuke straightened, peering over at her. His eyes met hers, a bright smile lit up her face and the rest of the room. Like the sun. She was his sun and he was her moon and stars. Leaning forward, he pressed their foreheads together. "I'd like that, too." He pressed his lips to hers. Yuzuki rested her hands on his chest as she melted into the kiss, a fire burning in her heart. No offense to the prince, but this was so much better than kissing him.

(Sexual content ahead)

Sasuke deepened the kiss, gripping her thighs and lifting her onto his lap. They broke for air, before she had time to prepare herself she felt his warm lips on her jaw. She tangled her hands in his hair as he trailed kisses along her jaw and neck. When he came back up she leaned forward, kissing his jawline lightly, once she trailed down to his neck she scraped her teeth on his skin sensually. Sasuke's pants tightened as he grew hard.

The Uchiha couldn't take it anymore when he felt her cold hands slip under his shirt, he twisted their bodies around, throwing her back onto the bed. He traced his thumb over her swollen lips as he gazed into her eyes. They were shining brightly despite their dark, obsidian color.

Yuzuki ran her fingers through his hair, pulling his face down to hers. As their lips met, the two realized the weight of their feelings for each other. As Sasuke kissed every inch of her skin, they wished that they had expressed their feelings sooner. With every thrust, moan, and sweet nothing whispered, they knew that their love would last a lifetime.

As Sasuke buried himself deep inside her at his release, he came to a conclusion. When he pulled her against his chest, he pressed his lips to her cheek. She felt his hot breath fanning against her jaw as his lips hovered over ear. "Marry me."

~

Before y'all complain about the marry me thing, I wholeheartedly believe he would do something like that. He's sasuke. He'd definitely ask a woman he loved to marry him out of nowhere if he was sure about it. I will not be taking criticism for that lol.
